Marceline's History:
Marceline was born from a very wealthy noble family who thrived off the merchant trades and made their fortune. Originally from a port city her family moved to an industrious city in the heart of a country similar to France when she was but a toddler. She was given a fabulous upbringing with all the finer things in life when the little girl started to get sick.
At first it was a cough that wouldn't quite leave, till one day when she was playing with the other noble children she collapsed and had her very first fit; and that was when the chains of her illness took hold of the fair lady. Spending most of her life there on in confined to her household with a doctor always on hand she remained caged; trying to keep the young woman healthy and prosperous. This would have its ups and downs as Marceline was a worldly woman who dreamed, wanting nothing more than to see what lay beyond her bedroom window. Occasionally she would sneak past the servants and doctor and head outside...almost always afterward she would find herself bedridden for weeks.
It was worth it to her.
It was on the eve of her 20th birthday that she had the worst fit of all, and although it took weeks for her to recover to a point where she was able to move around on her own again it was decided she would need to leave the city to a place free of the pollution; and the decision to move her to Oldcastle had been made. There she would stay with a cousin of her mother's, who lived outside the town's limits in a little cottage. It was the best news Marceline had ever received, and her excitement to start her journey was seen in her tired green eyes.
Upon her arrival Marceline still has a very close relationship to a doctor residing in the town; still partially caged in her house she does get the chance to head the small distance to the town to help her aunt out from time to time. Despite all the health concerns she is ridden with the young woman is still very positive in everything she does, a little naive in the fact she still believes she can do everything she could do before the sickness with little regard to her own well being. Marceline loves children and animals, and is a very friendly girl; she tries to be outgoing but often can't because of her illness. Since coming to Oldcastle she's gotten a little better thanks to the fresh air and low stress the environment has to offer, but winter is a very difficult season for her as it leaves her short of breath almost constantly.
