She had promised him spookies for a win, and at least as far as the demon was concerned, he had been winning all day.

First, there had been those balloons he'd massacred—easy—then racing with those disturbing little pink blobs, a pair of which continued to creep along behind them even now. But the highlight of the festivities had definitely been that Whack-a-Jove place. He'd beaten the ectoplasm out of a whole mess of little wisps, and Levi was going to give him the spookies she'd promised in return. Or else.

The sun had just dipped below the horizon as they left the festival, and the boil took advantage of the dimming light as he grabbed her hand, keeping it tucked in his as they moved toward the monster dorms. He sidled closer, intending to conceal the gesture between their bodies even though their clasped tails were already in plain sight. West felt antsy and apprehensive, like the things he was trying not to say were going to come bursting out of him without his permission. He turned to her, the last bit of excitement that had been born from delivering a beating shining in his eyes.

"So. What kinda spookies y'got fer me?" he asked with a grin. Spookies.

She'd never admit his win; further still, Levi would never admit to West's winning streak throughout the day. Had that machine done something to her insides? The ghoul did have that bubbly feeling in her gut that she often got around West, but it wasn't all that unpleasant anymore. It hadn't been unpleasant for a good while. The feeling of an almost sickening boil of her blood was proof that the demon was for her. The way he'd continued to challenge her all day and come up somewhat victorious made the tatzel happy inside, displayed outwardly by the way her tail constricted and released against his tail comparable to the squeezing of ones hand. That might has been happening too.

It was true for their last fight in the gym as well; West was a strong opponent that Levi always wanted to fight with. Was she upset by her own lack of competitive threat during their brief scarentines run and fights? No. Not really. It just meant she had more to strive for, right? Right.

In any case, a promise was made. It was a part of every fibre of FEAR in Levi's being to uphold her end in a trade or bet. If the tatzel said the winner of the race would get her spookies, that was exactly what West was going to get.

Just without her admitting verbally of his win.

Any kind ya'want. If I'don't already got'it, I'll make it. Deals a'deal.

Feeling very connected to her boil in almost every way she could think of, Levi led West through the main doors of the monster dorms, heading for the staircase. I got candy corn shortbreads, candy coated caramels, creepy crawlers, corn cream spookie sandwiches...

The ghoul's fingers threaded within his, allowing for her to maximize their touching capacity for this level of public view while she continued naming off various types of candy corn inclusive spookies. One foot after the other, Levi led West up, looking down at him with an adoring smile. Right now, she was just about ready to offer him more than spookies the way he kept looking at her with those eyes. When did they get so bright? Was he really looking forward to her spookies that much? The green was like that of a newly sprouting vine only drenched in poisonous mosses. They were beautiful.

Stop staring, ghoul.

Anythin' ya'want. I'got it, West.

Well, really, the tatzel ghoul only had a handful of types, but was adamant that if they weren't enough, she'd make something even better. Levi'd make sure her end of the promise was fulfilled completely; till the wrath demon couldn't take another bite and possibly had to sleep where he sat. He could stay there with her; that wouldn't be a problem at all.

It should have bothered him that she wouldn't say it. West told himself that whenever she directly avoided admitting that he had won. What kept him from doing so were these rare instances when she acknowledged his victories in her own way. Moments like this more than made up for the times when she teased. Not that those were particularly bad...

In the end, he knew that whenever he bested Levi he had beaten a skilled opponent, one who wasn't holding back or playing by rules he didn't understand. It was gratifying and, though he really wasn't prepared to admit it, kind of hot. West kept moving as she rattled off the types of spookies she had on hand, his smile softening from a conscious expression into something fainter that he wasn't aware of.

"Anythin' with candy corn. An' th'sandwiches maybe." He knew that whatever she made with her family's main crop was bound to be good, and he was intrigued by the idea of having an excuse to eat two spookies at once. "I dun need anythin' new though. I can thinka better things fer you t'do than make spookies." He hadn't meant anything by it, but West seemed to realize the multitude of alternate meanings his words might have had as they fell from his mouth. The boil chuckled, dragging his eyes away from her so she wouldn't somehow see what he was thinking.

It was probably the longest trip up the stairs he had ever taken.

He didn't avert his gaze for long; it was back on her when they got to the door, to the exclusion of everything else. West knew could have just walked in—he really needed to talk to her again about leaving her door unlocked—but he never felt comfortable doing so without her permission, even now. He lingered behind her instead, waiting for her to enter first.

West had just about melted the tatzel's crop-growing heart when he asked for anything containing candy corn; what she wouldn't have given for her family to have heard his say that. Heck, she herself was downright ready to pounce the boil for it. The wrath demon respected her kin, respected her as his equal and wanted to eat whatever she'd made- so long as it was with what she herself grew. Well Jackdang, boil. Was there a vent by her door or something? Stepping with her back facing the door, eyes still on West, Levi momentarily glanced at the walls surrounding them, almost certain heat was pouring onto her from somewhere. No, it only returned when Levi's eyes settled back on West. Back pressed to the door, the tatzel's hand grabbed hold of the knob and twisted. Anythin' with candy corn on'it? Apparently they'd both tuned into the same hormonal channel just then. Levi was nervous given her lack of insight in such cases, but he probably was too, right? From the things she read in magazines or saw on the skeeV, he was likely just the same despite his cocky replies. Equally the same. Maybe it would be cooler inside...

The room was just as always, minis either out and about or lazily napping in their urns. The spookies Levi spoke of indeed were inside a display sitting on the kitchen table with a small stack of plates and what looked like a self-made wooden napkin holder. Had she anticipated that they would come back together? Maybe.

The two tiered wooden stand was covered with a rather heavy looking glass dome that was bulbed at the top; perhaps this was to keep certain critters from getting inside and snacking while she was out. Detaching herself from West, Levi stepped over to the table, twirling on her heels to seat herself facing West, crossing her legs and gripping the bulb of the glass casing in her fingers to reveal the variety of spookies therein. There were about half a dozen of each kind but all of them contained Levi's prized crop in one way or another. They might not have looked like it, but the candy corn was bound to make its appearance in flavor if it didn't outright show itself visibly. C'mon now n' have 'em, boil. Settling the cover off to the side of the stand, Levi gave West a most methodical grin, beaconing him to sit, eat, and be there with her like family did. My mate, my love, my boil. Okay, now Levi had to remove her scarf. Folding the material in her lap before placing the linen square on the table, Levi coughed in correction and rested her chin in one hand propped up by her elbow on the wood surface. Her eyes fell on West and would stay there for a good while to watch him eat.

The white-eared ghoul had her suspicions about what West meant when he spoke of other things, but decidedly beat around the bush just to see what he'd do or say. Levi liked to see how far she could push the wrath demon out of his smart-mouthed place- and maybe pull him a little closer to her while she was at it. Oh yea? What sorta' better things? Not a word more would be spoken until she heard what he'd specify on this.

Nervous wasn't exactly how West would have described what he was feeling at that moment. Aggressive, proud, and lustful were a handful of his more prevalent emotions, and holding them in check led to the quickened heart rate and twitchy fingers that often marked nervousness as well. It was hard enough keeping his mind off of the things he wanted to do to her... with her... when he was in public, but when he was alone, especially when he was alone with her, those thoughts crowded his mind, scrambling over each other like foxfires trapped in a burning pit.

Still, he hesitated to respond to her playful question. Although taking what he wanted had yielded extremely positive results in recent months, West was determined not to scare her away by moving too quickly, or at least he would remain determined until his impulses once again grew too insistent to ignore.

He pulled the door shut behind him, slowly strolling after her as Levi got settled. He watched her cross her well-muscled legs and unveil her spookies with interest, closing the last couple of steps between him and the table more speedily once he had been invited to. The boil took a seat, choosing a spookie and looking it over as she removed her scarf. Telltale bits of orange and yellow lay nestled in a darker base, and as West turned it in his fingers he wondered which of the names she had given pertained to it, or if she had even said its name at all. His attention shifted back to her as he took a bite, running his eyes up the pale expanse of her neck while he chewed and swallowed. His peaceful taste of delicious victory was short-lived.

West very nearly choked on her next question, but he kept himself from letting more than the briefest clearing of his throat betray the fact that she'd almost sparked a full-blown coughing fit. "I didn't..." He paused and shook his head, pointing at her with the remnants of his spookie. "No, yer not... I wasn't even thinkin' of nothin' when I said that. Y'cant make me tell ya what I might be thinkin' now if I wasn't thinkin' it then." He sat back and took another bite, smirking as he watched the tatzel.

Kekeke~ Oh? So yer reckoning I ain't able ta'git it outta yew if I want? Sounds dang much like'a challenge ta'me, boil. Levi arose, leaning on both hands with palms flattening over the table top. Normally this sort of move wouldn't be possible unless one could levitate; or had a tail to stand on in the ghoul's case. I'm sure if'I tried hard'nuff, I'd have ya'spoutin' out every word yer thinkin'. Floating partially over the table, the tatzel's right hand reached out, seemingly ready to stroke at the wrath demon's chin or caress his cheek. Was she really going to try and get it out of him right now?

If her facial expression indicated anything, it was that she was certainly thinking of the unnamed things West would not speak of. The smile was sweet but thoughtful. Clearly Levi was working something out while trying to orchestrate her best acting attempt of a femme fatale working on her prey. It was one of her favorite skeeV characters; tricky and pretty quick to admit what they wanted. Tell me, what's on yer mind right now, boil? Hmm? The claw of her forefinger traced over West's left cheek, scraping just enough to perhaps feel a light burning sensation. Her voice progressed into an even and somewhat whispered tone. What'cha' thinkin'bout? The claw lightened when it got to his lips, lifting and scratching vertically down the center of them while the rest of her seemed to come in closer.

Closer... close enough so that maybe she was going to...

Levi neatly plucked the remaining bit of spookie from West's hand. In one swift motion, between thumb and finger from her other hand, she tossed it into her mouth while reverting back to her end of the table with a grin. M'sure ya'll'll tell me 'ventually. Mmm, these sure are good, huh? Tilting her head innocently to one side, the smirk on her face still spoke the lingering truth of everything she'd just done. The end of the tatzel's tail snaked up and settled at the corner of the table on the left side of Levi, as if watching West like a periscope.

The ghoul scanned over the stand then, picking up another spookie, an orange one with white icing and yellow sprinkles on top and directed it to her mouth. The crunch indicated that this was more like a shortbread cookie than a soft variety.

Now she was taking from the winner's prize herself. She felt she earned it.

West had begun to ready a slew of replies as soon as she had opened her mouth, but they became less and less important to voice the closer she crept. He didn't even bother remaining reclined in his lazy sprawl of superiority once she had issued her newest challenge. The boil slowly leaned forward to meet her, drawn by her taunts and her enticing... display. He caught himself pressing his cheek into the sting of her claw and pulled away slightly, his lips parting as she dragged it over them as well. When she took his spookie, he could barely bring himself to care. West's gaze lingered on her, eyes half-lidded and slightly unfocused.

Had they been in this same position two months ago, he might have stayed like this indefinitely, watching her eat with a frustrated scowl. West wasn't scowling now, however, and he was not content to simply watch, not when she knew exactly what he wanted and didn't seem opposed to him taking it. He was confident enough, in a thoroughly deluded sort of way, that he would be able to keep things from going further than they had, and if they were just doing more of what they'd already been doing, it wouldn't be pushing too hard, right? Right.

He continued leaning toward her, bracing his elbows on the table when he could no longer move forward and remain seated at the same time. "I'm not gonna tell ya anythin'," he murmured, eyes on her lips. "But I'll show ya what I'm thinkin' if y'put my damn spookie down."

Yea? The tatzel couldn't help but feel gratified by West's continuing denial to provide her with answers. It meant that he wanted her to persist; to continue to bout with him. Levi had not problems with keeping up the back and forth banter. It could be said that this was something she enjoyed doing with West most and could continue doing it for hours on end- if she didn't engage in physical retaliation at some point. Make me. 'cause I'm mighty sure I'could just have both. The end of her tail slithered further up onto the table, making its way over to West's arm, about to snake around it when-

scrtchsrtchsrtch

Levi's white ears stood straight in attention. Tail end stopping before it could brace the wrath demon, the limb froze in place before turning toward the door. Levi's wide eyes traced the underside of the door, looking to catch a glimpse of any shadows, but none were seen. However, the faint sound of scampering footsteps vibrated through her ears and the ghoul knew whatever was there was now gone. Somethin's at tha'door... Eyes darting back onto West, Levi clearly displayed that she had no idea what had just come to her door. Hold'on a'sec. Swiveling out of her seat, Levi scampered over to the door, opening it slowly to peek through to the other side.

Pulling the door open completely would confirm that there was no one else on the other side. However what tiny messenger had been there left behind a few notes. Picking them up and turning to face West, eyes looking over the bits of paper, the tatzel's tail flickered to close the door behind her. Levi slid the topmost note over, undoing the opening and taking a look inside. The note had a certain scent to it, but Levi couldn't place what. Her nose was no match for the likes of a certain canine she knew. In any case, Levi began to smile, clearly reading the note.

The tatzel looked at West, walking over without a word and leaned over him, placing a peck on his forehead, chuckling. Ya'like pushin' yer luck, eh boil? It was still in some form a thank you, the paper now possibly visible in Levi's hand. It was the gram West had filled out for her for scarentines.

"No, y'can't have ei—"

West froze as the world filled in around him again. Even he had heard the odd scratching at the door over the pull of some other rather insistent distractions, and from the look on the tatzel's face, she hadn't been expecting anyone to just drop by either. He watched her cross the room, relieved to see there was no one in the hall when Levi opened the door. Now all she had to do was come back over here and... kiss his forehead?

"Wha' was that for?" he asked, trying to sneak a peek at what she was holding so he might discern how it had sparked that particularly loving reaction. When he finally did get a glimpse of the words on her note, he grinned and rubbed at his jaw, glancing down at the floor. "Oh." West had arranged to have a very small number of those things sent out this year, but hers was the only one he had actually hoped would arrive. Just... not while he was with her. He felt a flush rising up the back of his neck and he brushed his hand over the skin there too, quick to continue speaking in an effort to hide his embarrassment.

"If pushin' my luck's callin' you a princess, then maybe I do." It was true that the nickname had started off as an unflattering taunt, but it had grown on him over time. It certainly felt more affectionate now, at least on his end, but he wasn't about to say so. "Y'don't wanna be my princess?" he continued, managing a fake pout for about three syllables before he was grinning again. "I could getcha a shiny crown an' the sexiest dresses..." He reached for her waist with one hand and the Scarentines note with the other, intending to get it out of her hands and onto the table as soon as possible. There was no need to waste time talking about one of his sappier moments, especially not when things had been heading in such a lovely direction.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 05, 2013 8:28 pm

There was something about that one word he used that echoed; questions arising as to why he'd used it. My princess? Did she want to be his princess? Levi bit her lower lip unsure of how exactly to answer this one. On the one hand, Levi knew she was no royal by any measure. Having played the role of a Queen and been named a princess at prom before, she felt nothing was more gratifying than just harvesting her crops and living the simple life. On the other hand, he was asking her to be his something. There was a bubbling in her gut serving as evidence that being referred to as his wasn't all that bad. So long as he was hers in return, the tatzel was pleased with this notion. However-

Well I dun been a Queen by now. Reckon I'll need somethin' a little more than a maul-goin'boil. Maybe a'servant, eh? Ya'll could tend ta'ma'bath n' dress me in tha'mornin's. Heck maybe I'll order fer yew ta'dress ta'match on 'ccasion. The tatzel ghoul winked then, unknowing of the mini that lurked just under her pillow.

From the warmth of her pillowcover, Sweets popped its head out and began sniffing at the air, intrigued by something that awoke it from its sleep. Chittering, the treat lazily flew towards the table and munched down on the piece of unfinished spookie Levi had left of the table to retrieve the mail. Sweets' eyes still blinked as if it were in a sleepy state, nose twitching to a new scent that the treat recognized. Levi was the first thing it saw, slowly recharging after eating the biscuit, but then caught onto the heated aura of the pink haired one.

"OuO"

The fluffy wings and tail went all a flutter as Sweets flew towards the comfortable looking nest of bright pink, landing and chittering, trying to nest warmly between West's two horns. It was a sharp contrast to the sweet candied smell of its master, which coupled with a sort of warmth that seemed to vent from the top of his head through the bright softness of hair.

He looked up at her, something thoughtful mixed in with his smirk for a change. The time she had spent as queen of the Red Kingdom wasn't terribly clear to him, but those memories certainly weren't completely lost either. He was going to have to tell her that the fireworks maker had shared all of that with him at some point in the future. Not now. Even if he couldn't exactly recall everything that had gone on, he could feel what it had been like to serve under Xiu, and later Levi. West got the idea that the other him would have done more than tend the phoenix's bath, had she asked. He cleared his throat with a little more force than he had previously. Thoughts like these really didn't help with the blushing.

"I'll show ya a ser... vant." The boil paused his intended retaliation when he felt something not only land on his head, but begin to burrow into his hair. He only had to wonder what in the hell would do such a thing for a couple of seconds before he knew. "I've got a

TREAT

in

my

hair,

don't I!"
he shouted, shooting to his feet and shaking his head wildly. He didn't intend to actually hurt the thing, since it was Levi's, but he was not a jackdamned bed, or a litter box, or anything else fuzzy little animals were meant to sit on.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 07, 2013 2:07 pm

Chittering and scrambling to stay in place, Sweets shrilled as it flew off of the demon's head involuntarily and fluttered off behind Levi's thigh. Kekeke, well looks like ya'got a friend. Aye now, Sweets. That how ya'greet'a guest? Yew know West. Peeking out, the treat gripped onto the tatzel's leg, still wavering its tail in excitement at the guest but in no way tempted to replay its adventurous actions as before. Sweets instead began sniffing the air as if something nearby was enticing. What? What'cha got- AYE!

The treat had caught onto West's scent on the card Levi held between her fingers. Snatching it up in its tiny paws, Sweets bolted towards her door, zooming through the corridor towards the stairwell. C'MERE YEW! She didn't really have to, but it was a spur of the moment reaction to chase after Sweets. Surely it would have returned home eventually when it was hungry or something, but Levi questioned whether or not the card from West would come back with it.

Indeed, Sweets liked to hide things it found and liked. If it couldn't nest in the soft pink fur, it could make a nest with this crumply thing that smelt like it! She's goin' outside! The tatzel bounded down the steps, echoing her information to the wrath demon that joined her.

It took him longer than he might have liked to set his tangle of hair straight again once he'd mussed it, and by the time he was done, the treat had grabbed its prize and made for the door. West was only a handful of steps behind Levi, having sprung into action more out of self-preservation than any sense of holiday spirit. She'd already read the thing, so it wasn't like she needed some reminder of the sentiment, but if anyone else got their hands on the note, well, he would have to kill them until they didn't come back.

He didn't bother shouting anything in response, the boil just barreled after the tatzel and her pet, bursting outside with a murderous glare.

"Which way?" he muttered. West doubted the tiny thing could fly faster than he could on a straight stretch, but it was certainly sneaky enough to test his maneuverability.
PostPosted: Fri Mar 08, 2013 11:43 am

Her eyes kept on the try-colored treat in the distance. That way! Pointing a claw in the direction for the wrath demon to make note of, Levi sprang after the treat. It was true that it had smaller wings, but the smaller they are, the faster they flew. Sweets rarely caused a ruckus for the tatzel, but in cases when she'd have to catch the treat, Levi found a bit of candy went a long way. 'Ere! Take this, boil. Retrieving a tiny pouch from in her shirt, the tatzel took a kernel of candy corn from it for herself and tossed the bag to West during their attempt to gain ground on the mini.

We're gonna try n' wrangle 'er It's true her family wasn't the one to take care of critters, but she'd done her fair share of herding to know how to lure and move things a certain way. I want ya'ta'git in front'a'em. Try n' keep tha'critter distracted! Levi reasoned that if West was the object of Sweet's excitement here, perhaps she could use that to their advantage. Should gimme 'nough time ta'grab'er, ya'hear?

West kept up the chase, taking note of the direction she pointed and shifting that way. He might have once questioned what she had in her shirt that could have attracted a minipet, but he knew better now. He caught the little pouch without thinking, dropping a couple of the candies it contained into his palm. The boil cast one last calculating glance at the treat before increasing his speed, summoning his wings, and flapping them as hard as he could.

He shot well ahead of the creature, his toes dragging across the ground as he went, then skidded to a stop, turned, and held the candies out in front of him. It was the most unthinkingly agile he had been in quite some time, and as soon as he had stopped moving, he could tell he was going to pay for it later. West's wings remained spread wide, creating a wall of wrath that would hopefully block the treat's path.

"Hey... uh... Sweets?" His lips twisted around the thoroughly adorable name. "Got somethin' for ya."
