After being frustrated with being cooped up so long, Marosa had left his room as soon as Sharra had left, his mind intent on walking off whatever pent up emotions he had.

It took him a few hours before he became finished with wandering around and stretching his legs in a class, and eventually the faerie made his way back to his room.

Faeries didn't like to be cooped up, and Marosa was no exception to the rule. If he had been in that room any longer he would have certainly went stir-crazy. He reached out and opened his door, stepping inside smoothly and shutting the door behind him with ease, intent on heading back to his bed before he just stopped.

Oh Jack, Sharra was back. He stared, a sheepish grin making its way onto his face until he winced, putting a hand over his jaw. Smiles were out of the question, it seemed.

Marosa was so grounded.

Though Sharra didn't technically have that power, he was going to do his utter damndest to enforce it.

When the fey boil finally saw fit to return to his rooms, the Nergal had been back for some time. He'd towed along a few other choice items, along with the all too necessary painkillers. Heh. Apparently the redhead's recovery time had been a wee smidge more rapid than his fellow demon had imagined.

Currently Sharra had both his arms crossed over his chest, an acidic stare boring into the returning fey as he once more graced the Nergal with his presence. "I think even Riley would be impressed at your ability to hoof it." There was frustration, a touch of anger, and a certain thread of grim amusement. "You're going to give me gray hairs, Marosa. I swear."

Brandishing a freshly retrieved ice pack as though it were a weapon of the most intimidating prowess, the blond shook it at the shorter boil. "And take this. Right now you look about fifty percent chipmunk. Where in Jack's name did you go?" The anger in his voice slowly gave way, Sharra unable to stay angry for long, his concern for the fey superseding his wrath.

Stepping nearer, he didn't even give Marosa a chance to take the cold, cloth-wrapped compress, as the Nergal had seen fit to take matters into his own hands, very delicately pressing the item to the fey's swollen jawline. "I still don't know why you had to go and piss her off..." He murmured, his tone denoting that the point was already moot, but he still had to wonder at it. "You two scared the s**t out of me."

He'd been just a little shaken, as it had seemed for a moment, that something irreplaceable was being threatened. The thrum of terror, not even a conscious feeling, had been like the echo of a dream. But such a dream it had been.

"Sssorreh," Marosa hissed, placing his hand over Sharra's to press the cold against his jaw, shoulders sagging as he reveled in the feel of it. Jack, did it feel good. The faerie wrapped his fingers around Sharra's wrist, tugging him to the bed so he could sit, and trying to get his best friend to sit with him.

He winced as he moved his jaw, but he had to talk, despite the pain. "She... acted like me father did." He murmured, wings fluttering against his back as he glanced to the nergal demon. Truly, Riley had echoed, without knowing it, words that his father had said to him over the years. It had affected him and left him acting more like a beast than a fey.

Marosa shook his head though, his mind on other matters.

"Oi hafta ask... did we... sleep together, at any point?"

The Nergal was easily maneuverable, still half-attached to the icy compress, and so he took a place on the bed with his friend. The demon's eyes still scanning the boil up and down, checking to see if Marosa had agitated any of his visible injuries. So help Sharra, if the fey's impetuous nature further deterred his healing processes, he was going to wind up guarding the other at all hours, day or night, until he was able to smile properly; without shortly after looking as though someone had just backhanded him.

Oh. And Marosa would probably like to be able to eat too. There was that.

It was the blond's turn to wince, however, as blissful honesty dropped from his friend's lips. Ah. Well that would explain a few things. "Sorry. I know those things aren't so easily discarded. Just remember though...we're not your dad. Riley might be authoritative, but she truly means well. She's just looking out for the people she loves." He'd never quite met another with such a heart as the mindflayer possessed...such a strange one tho it was.

The next question caused the edges of the Nergal's pointed ears to redden, the spines along his shoulders flickering in a tell-tale fashion. "I...um...I don't think so...?" Damn. That shouldn't have been a complicated question...and if the fey had asked it last week it wouldn't have been at all. Now, however, the query summoned up images of his best friend wearing little to no...all right, mostly no...clothes. And also a lot of other things that he was trying to mentally dismiss right now.

It felt as though he'd watched mind porn. Dirty, dirty mind porn.

With his best friend in it.

"Aye, but... she did make a point. Oi've been hidin', hopin' it would go away. All for naut. Oi need tae start fightin'." His golden gaze was slightly duller than before, but not so dull that he actually needed to feed. "Oi'm sorreh oi worried ye. Us fey... we get a leedle stir crazy at times." Marosa coughed, glancing away as he fought a smile. "Most times."

"Oi see." He pursed his lips as his gaze slid to Sharra's face again. "Oi had a dream. It started with... me kissin' meself. And then... memories of another me. With... you." He reached up to run his fingers over Sharra's spines, mostly out of curiosity than anything else. "Except.... he was far happier than oi could ever be." The faerie's fingers fell, and his gaze landed on his hands, which he clenched together in his lap around the ice bag.

The ice crinkled.

"There was never a Muirin in that universe." It was getting easier to talk, but his feelings were overwhelming him again, to where he couldn't control them. This was bad. Letting go of the ice, he reached up and clamped his fingers over his temples, attempting to breathe and regain himself. Sadness, guilt, and depression wafted from the faerie as he attempted to shove it back down again to deal with later.

"Just pick your battles." There was still worry playing out across the Nergal's features, but that last bit of advice was really all that he had left to give forth on the matter. Sucking in a breath, he steadied himself, reaching over to very gingerly ruffle the fey boil's hair, lest he accidentally snag a bruise or other injury. Heh. Riley's 'lessons' did not come lightly. "If you need to run about let me know, a'right? We can do some training when you're feeling a touch more up to speed." Something told Sharra he'd be a safer sparring partner.

As Marosa went on, the blond's expression went almost distant, the crimson at his eartips spreading subtly. "Ah. I...had one of those too." The green-tipped spines flickered at the smaller boil's touch, flattening and then rising again with the contact of flesh. "Other me's life was ironically less complicated." In so many ways now, that he couldn't voice. "And don't give up on happiness that easily, mmk?"

"To be fair there was never a Yaya either." Sharra's voice dipped low, as though the two of them were having a discussion of the utmost secrecy. He tilted his head towards the other boil, ducking down a little lower as he tried to catch Marosa's gaze. Even if the Nergal wasn't in possession of any particular mental talents, he could sense the overwhelming tulmult of emotion that the Gancanagh possessed.

Calloused fingers slid to the hair that rested on the nape of the fey's neck, warm touch attempting to nudge Marosa closer to Sharra's sturdy frame, guiding the boil to rest against his shoulder.

Sharra had always wanted to fix everything. His ghoulfriend, Aksaja, Riley, Marosa...

But everything had spun so effortlessly out of his control.

"Stop." A whisper, "Don't blame yourself so much. I know you take so much responsibility on your shoulders, and from what I understand, quite a passel of it isn't yours. So focus on one thing at a time."

There had to be something that he could repair. Somewhere.

Marosa rested his head on Sharra's shoulder, his breath wafting out over the other's neck. He closed his eyes and thought for a moment, the memory of Muirin painful, but slowly fading away.

He didn't want to get used to that, but the way life was treating him... it seemed he had no choice.

"It feels like everythin's against me." He cringed, wings fluttering as he attempted to hold back tears. "Oi dinnae want tae lose ye. Oi've already lost Muirin, and now that oi have a best friend, oi..." He didn't want to end up affecting him, just like his father's power. Just like Da'luagh.

"If oi get out of control..." The faerie trailed off, leaving the rest unsaid.

The Nergal felt a shiver run down his spine, blond lashes dusting skin for a moment at the tendril of guilty awareness that came over him. Marosa was undoubtedly important to him, and Sharra had been given a burst of sudden enlightenment. Somewhere betwixt his own loyalty and the strange recent occurences...important lines had begun to blur.

He was going to have to examine that.

Later.

Much later.

"Hey..." The word was heavy, the demon's voice dipping so as to fully captivate the fey boil's attention. "Best friend, remember?" A slow, lopsided grin appeared, flashing a hint of fang at the redhead. "I'm not so easily gotten rid of. I'm a stubborn b*****d. I'm not going to let you forget it either." Tilting his head, he rested his temple against Marosa's mess of wavy auburn strands. "If you lose control....we're gonna handle it. I'll do what it takes to set your spindly a** straight. You got that?" Sharra had gone somber, trying to be as supportive as he knew how.

He didn't truly know what he was in for, but after what he'd already survived? Hah!

Bring it.

"Than'ee." Marosa breathed out as his eyes shifted up to stare at Sharra's, suddenly realizing the close proximity of the nergal demon.

Oh, Jack. He was really close, wasn't he? His cheeks colored as his breath came shorter, body tensing up as he gave Sharra the 'deer in headlights' look.

It wasn't easy to startle Marosa, but this was pretty close to it.

The faerie wasn't sure what to do, so he remained perfectly still, body tensed in anticipation and slight shock.

There were suddenly quite a few parts of him tingling, as he locked eyes with the Fae, a rather curious and not unappetizing sensation sweeping him as for a moment his innocuous intentions faltered in a slip of will and ungrasped emotion. Marosa's thanks brushed over his lips like a warm breeze, and the Nergal naturally inclined himself towards it.

There was a flutter, a tremulous thread of unlabeled sensation, as Sharra became more consciously aware of the position he had now found himself in.

Oh.

Whoops.

Breaking the brush of lips rather suddenly, he felt the instant bolt of shattering guilt and horrible realization. Oh this...this was really going to put a wrench in things. "Ah...uhm..."

"My...bad...?" At least he was pretty sure it was.

Oh this was going to be a doozy to explain. Even Sharra was perplexed on the matter. He had so wanted to deal with this later. Later was trying to nullify itself as an option.

Closing his eyes, Marosa looked to be fighting with himself, his mind whirling with emotions.

"Oi recommend that if ye dinnae want this to go further..." The faerie swallowed hard, his fingers digging into his palms as he fought to keep control of himself. He hadn't felt this way in... a long time. Too long.

Jack help him, he felt like the worst traitor ever. He was sitting here, talking about control and trying to fight it, and here his Gancanagh self... was taking over.

As he opened his eyes, they were a blazing gold as they stared at Sharra, waiting those vital few moments to see what he would decide.

"I..." There was just a moment, a moment where some thrum of self-spun emotion faltered...and then Sharra pushed himself up, fingertips trailing along the fey boil's arms. "It's not...I...can't." Just a whisper, though there seemed to be something far more earnest, a million things he couldn't voice nor truly find form for.

It was hard, though, to tear himself away from that golden stare. "Marosa..." Gently, he bumped his forehead to the Gancanagh's own. "You mean a Jack-damned lot to me. So we're gonna work through this the healthy way." Ruffling red strands of hair fondly, the Nergal demon then withdrew his touch completely.

It would be so easy, to drown himself in this moment...but that would be far from the moral decision just now. His best friend had a hunger...and the blond boil had a promise to keep. Those two things kept him from thinking with other, less conscience-laden parts of his body. The complicated emotions only served to make Sharra seem rather withdrawn, sad, perhaps.

His next words came out evenly, unwilling to compromise or back down, for this slip, the demon blamed his own resolve. "I'm your friend. Doesn't matter what happens." Loyal, stubborn, and damnedly confused and upset with himself currently, that about summed up one Sharra Eldwaithe.

Healthy? There was nothing healthy about him. He was trying to tell Sharra not to touch him again, not to succumb to the lull, but the feeling... everything just felt normal.

For once, he felt like he could truly be at peace with himself while he was with Sharra, and the faerie couldn't help but flutter his wings as his arms raised, grasping onto whatever he could of Sharra.

"Th' dream felt real. Like we were actually there..." His head fell as he stared at the floor, but the fey's grip tightened with each word he spoke. "Oi'm sorry fer all th' trouble. If'n ye like, oi kin... oi kin stay away." It would be hard, but Marosa would manage. He'd find other friends, and end up moving on from those, as well. He'd get used to it in the long run, just like... he'd not gotten used to Muirin.

Jack damn it.

"You have a ghoulfriend. Oi... dinnae want tae complicate things." Though... he already had, and he knew it.

Swallowing hard, Marosa felt tears pool at the corner of his eyes, grimacing as his body refused to let go.
