There was a buffet table on the side of the conference room that looked really amazing from a distance. On closer look it was still pretty amazing, but for an entirely different set of reasons. Edith had decided to make them all snacks for the meeting. Every hunter carefully selected at least one to try under her watchful gaze at the head of the table, faces full of polite enthusiasm as the managed to chew, swallow, and not throw anything up.
Moon hunters were kind of total badasses when it came to powering through painful situations. Charlotte's polite face was especially convincing, even going so far as to making a pleased sound as she dabbed at her lips with a pretty silk handkerchief.
From her seat, Edith smiled graciously as the last few hunters trickled in, took a snack, and then took a seat. She didn't always share her food, but when she did, her hunters knew how to appreciate a good thing when offered. Clearing her throat, she began, "Alright, I know it's early and we're all busy folks." She squinted at them a bit in a silent, You had better be busy folks, and then continued, "...so lets get this going. One thing I want you to keep in mind, is that our numbers are smaller than ever due to last year's events. Know your worth and don't be asking me to give you the go ahead to risk yourselves needlessly, you hear me? Good."

the ooc This is a Quarterly Division Meeting, where hunters may ICly propose various projects they would like to undertake! In here they can ICly get approval, funds, workspace, off-island mission approvals, minions, and equipment they need to pursue their projects! Rank is a definite factor in what they are allowed and provided with! Feel free to hit me up via IM or PM if you have questions for me!

A moon meeting. He hadn't had one of those since...since forever ago. And now that he was a full hunter, he had some serious suggestions.
Like legit serious suggestions.
"Edith, didn't you say that we'd go on a date once I became a more...grown up type of guy. An adult." Dakota snapped his fingers at her, totally ignoring that he was hitting on his division leader. "I know we're on a crisis but come on boss, we could go to Hawaii and blow some steam off with some old fashion beach, sun, drinks and enjoying our finally put together fit bodies." Dakota winked at her.

Edith stared, face expressionless, at Dakota for a moment and then turned to Charlotte, "Mr. Rainstar has volunteered to cover kitchen duty for the month of March."

"Whoa whoa Boss, I was joking! Okay I'm sorry, Please don't put me on kitchen duty." The hunter scrambled around, "Seriously boss, I won't do that again."
....
"Plus I have serious suggestions that aren't dates, even though I'd take one with you pretty seriously..."
Dakota ahemed, and looked nervously at Charlotte and then back to Edith.
"I've been reading over some of the reports and missions we've been handling and I noticed with us being short handed, that we lost several of our specalist in search and rescue. There's a lot of hunters spread thin and not enough of them to recover other hunters. We're losing more and more with the small amount of hunters we have already...." Dakota hesitated again...
"I didn't get a chance too during our mission at the haunted house, but Allan had been forced to make a team to rescue two of our trainee's, one sun and one moon and divide our resources between two different missions which could've consequently been damaging to both missions. Especially with a division leader being torn away from a situation that probably required his expertise." Dakota was starting to talk a little bit faster now, he was only 19 but he had proven himself a hunter. He wore his hunter jacket proudly and had many expriences to boost his confidence a little.
"I was wondering if I could...well If I could take on the role of specilizing in rescue missions." keep talking keep talking, "I grew up a native of reserves, so hunting to me is kind of like...natural? Tracking is no problem. I'm pretty good at getting information on locations and people, I am a people person, and have a lot of resources at my expense. I'm trained with most of the runic weapons and have completed numbers of missions without serious injuries (besides mentally/emotionally) and am seriously wanting to take on a larger role for our division. I'd like to train others too, and lead moons or others on missions too..." Dakota stuck his hands in his pockets to stop his fidgetting hands.
"I'm not like asking to be a maytr or anything and go out and save all the hunters and halloween creatures or whatever. I'm kinda of just asking for a chance to prove I can actually do something more for Moon and help out ya know?"

Marcus made a small choking sound as Dakota hit on Edith. Well, certainly a thing to arrive to. Patting himself on the chest to get back his breath, Marcus shot Dakota a look of 'are you serious'. Followed by the usual, 'oh god you are serious'. Of course it was topped off with the look of 'Dakota please'. Dakota. "Kitchen duty stays," Edith answered flatly. "But for the rest, search and rescue, unfortunately, is always in need of capable hunters. However the tracking skills you've grown up with and those useful on the field aren't always one and the same. I'm going to suggest you take some time to train a bit with at least one Death hunter, as tracking via portents, signs, supernatural reportings, and FEAR signals is very much up their alley, and a valuable skill set to anyone going into S&R. For the rest, I'll allow you to build, train, and lead a small team. I'll leave the composition and balance up to you. When you feel they're ready, we'll test and review your team's capabilities and see if they're truly field-ready. Is that an adequate chance, Mr. Rainstar?"

s**t s**t s**t kitchen duty for the whole month of March. okay good lesson, don't hit on the boss lady during meetings ever.
His eyes widened, train with a death hunter? he knew plenty of death hunters he could ask for help on that, actually the one he was thinking of at the forefront of his mind beamed at him. Wilson, Wilson, Wilson.
He was quickly turning over in his head the requirements she was setting up and adapting what and who he needed to do this. To make it work and had good dynamics to make it work smoothly.
"Yes Ma'am. That's more than I thought I'd get even though I'm still a kid." He rubbed the back of his neck. Put together his own team, he could do that. he needed to think carefully though because search and rescue. He needed to seriously contemplate..."For the training, uh....Is it cool that I find my own death hunter to train me? Or would you prefer that I talk to...Mark or Caelius about it. and get assessments from them?" Jesus over his dead body would he talk to Caelius...Mark he could manage. But if he was serious about getting the position, he needed to use his resources. Cross training with death actually seemed fun though.

Ryan wasn't the least bit surprised when Dakota attempted to put moves on Edith. This was Dakota after all. He who hit on just about everything so long as it walked, talked and had a chest. Though he had hoped he would have been smart enough to not try it during a meeting. However, it was always amusing to watch Dakota crash and burn afterwards and in this case, as an added bonus, he even got stuck with kitchen duty for the entire month.
Oh Dakota, you never learn.
Leaning forward, once Edith had finished speaking, Ryan whispered quietly to Dakota. "Think Wilson will train with you after we drew on his comatose face?" There was an amused look on his face, but it was mostly hidden behind his scarf.

Well, Marcus had to give Dakota credit. Aside from hitting on the boss, he had a goal. One that wasn't peeping on girls or trying to get laid. "Miss Carr?" Marcus lifted his hand a bit before lowering it. "As stands, roughly how thin are we off island, at the other bases? With the recent... attack and need to call bother hunters and trainees to the field, it might help to take off island training to better familiarize trainees with the various bases and terrain in the event they're called again."
He resisted the urge to ask about getting an espresso maker in the moon lounge.
"I know I'm not one for leading missions, however we've gotten a lot of trainees in the division recently, and with numbers lacking," he tried to smile, "I'm thinking it might be best if I help the trainees with basic division skills?"
Tried to smile but ended in an awkward 'please don't kill me' look.

Dakota smiled at Marcus, shrugging as he took a seat and knowing better then to eat Edith's food. Last time he had her milkshake, it had knocked him out for hours...sure he ended up feeling amazing...but knocked out weighed heavily against the feel good factor.
He leaned over to Ryan, "I think he'll forgive me, we've been through tougher?" Dakota grinned, "Do you want to be part of my team? i'm thinking of asking Wilson to be part of the team too....maybe another moon and death so we can all cross train for it?"
Dakota had two faces in his mind, it was just a matter of appealing to those faces. "I'm thinking Saya and Eva too. They're both friendly, easy faces. Eva's trained death and Saya well..." Dakota looked a little worried for a second, "She's a moon. I think she could handle it."

Edith nodded after saying something low to Charlotte who dutifully wrote down several lines of notes in her immaculate script. "Pick whoever you can work well with." She gave him a stern look, "Work with, mind you. Not play with, and if I find you treating it as such I'll demote you back down to basic trainee."
The look hardened at Marcus's question. "Quite short, we're running on skeleton crews on the more immediately important bases. We've had to leave a number of them unmanned completely." Studying the younger man, she tapped her fingers on the table before coming to a decision, "That's needed. If you feel up to the job, then I'll assign you one of the smaller, unmanned bases to serve as on off-island field camp of sorts that you can take groups to. We have several that only receive minor activity, so while challenging, shouldn't be entirely above their skill range. If that arrangement suits you, I'll have Charlotte send you a list of locations to choose from."

Charlotte, still trying to find the right date in the kitchen duties notebook, fumbled blindly at the mention of location arrangement, giving Marcus a wide-eyed stare before returning to juggling about six different notebooks sprawled across her lap, arms, left leg, right foot, and table. She managed to get herself mostly sorted out, for the most part ignoring Dakota after that incident, as she worked away slowly and surely in the ambient background.
