In the unlikely case that I will be getting more chimes, here's the colors when I'm working with the different sprites

It had taken a while to find the perfect place for it. I would hang it in one place, only to find that either it didn't seem to like the room, or the room didn't like it. Finally, I had decided that outside would be best, it seemed to work, but then I had to find somewhere to put it. It was hanging outside of the window to my room, ringing softly in the winter-spring wind. I listened to it whilst reading, smiling at how lucky it was to have found such a treasure. My room had seemed to accept the chime for a while, but then discord would occur. Maybe this was for the best, the room and the chime seemed happy. I glanced out to the chime that had momentarily gone quiet.
I knew that the music calmed me, even though it was created from chaos that was the wind and the elements. I started reading again, listening happily to the chime. It was one possession I would not lose, or try to the best of my abilities.

It was when I was working the garden, that I made a realization. I had been weeding, before the weeds could get settled into spring. The chime that I had placed outside my room had a different tune to it. I stood up and dropped my shovel. Even now, the soft chime sounded different. I approached my window and the chime to see if there was a reason. My eyes widened in shock. Around the chime I could see a faint swirl of colour. A spirit? The wind paused for a minute, then I thought that I heard a giggle. I shook my head and went back to the garden. Maybe I would wake up in the morning and it would all be a dream.

Once again the sound of the chimes had changed. Wandering outside to find the cause, I saw that the spirit I thought to be nearby to have disappeared. Inwardly, I was a little disappointed. Perhaps my garden just wasn't the place for it though. That's what I thought, until I turned around to see a man in front of me. I stood there in shock looking at him, uncertain of what to do.

It was odd, looking down at her from here. The feel of solid ground under my feet and the actual smell of the garden instead of the colours I saw as a spirit. I watched her approach my chime again and look at it, as she had when she heard my presence around the chime. I was worried that she would take it down, and came out of my hiding spot. She spun and met my eyes. "Well," I said, uncertain of what else to say. "How shall I explain this?"

I had never imagined for a spirit to be so... there were many adjectives to use, but none of them seemed proper. "How about you explain how you're right in front of me when you're a spirit," I replied to his question. He smiled at me, unnerving me for some reason. "I decided to show myself to you." He stared at the chime. "I can only stay if the chime remains though." I smiled at him, if things went right I might get a new helper around the house. "It's staying, do you have a name I can call you by?" He turned back around and I found myself staring back at the deep blue eyes. "Makani."

It had been only a few days since Makani had come into my life. Yet I was finding myself wondering what I would do without him. He was very handy around the house with the cleaning, although he was a little bit of a pyromaniac. He doesn't know how to cook, and I'm honestly a little afraid to let him near the kitchen. He's an odd person, sometimes leaving a sentence uncompleted or stopping something he was doing to start something else. He was definitely an odd person.

It's difficult, getting used to walking around. The things I saw as the wind were very different in real life. What I enjoy here is cleaning, since it's so easy for me to just use wind to clean away the dust. She seems to always have candles around. And she usually lights one at dinner. Since I started lighting them around the house I've found it a thrill to light them up. Maybe it's just the way that the wind reacts to it, it makes me feel so alive! She won't let me near the kitchen, but there's plenty in this house to see and many things to uncover.

What ever happened to the time? It seems like only days have passed, but on the calendar I realized that I had carried this form for a little over a month. I'm very happy here, but I feel like I'm hiding a big secret as my control increases and I secretly learn more spells. I'm not looking into aggressive spells, but sooner or later I think that I'll have to learn them. I'm worried about what she'll think of it though. That's what really worries me. I keep my secret hidden by playing with the fire more and more... I think that it's worrying her, but I'm not sure which will be worse. Either way seems bad enough.

I have to go away for a while, but I don't know what to do with Makani. I mean, it's not like he can't leave and not watch out for his chime. If it got destroyed then he would have to leave. I've gotten attached to him now, minus the fact about him being a pyro and me with the feeling that he's not telling me something. Not too long ago, I caught him muttering to himself about learning too much. It scares me, that he's learning something and he won't tell me about it. Why won't he tell me?

Great, if there isn't a greater sign of trust leaving a pyro alone in the house, tell me what is. It annoys me, that she only left a note behind, and nothing else. What am I? Just company? Just someone she doesn't want to see anymore? Why else would she leave me here? Her leaving just presents me with more unanswered questions. I, I really should tell her about me, if she comes back. I get this feeling that she'll leave otherwise, and I'll just become a sprite again.

Now, this goes too far. Certainly she wanted to reassure me that she was coming back, but going to this level? She sent home a sundial, and not just any sundial; she had to send home a sundial with a Solrana design. To my distaste, it was occupied within the first few days. Hey, I'm allowed to be jealous as well. I keep feeling like I've grown too dangerous and she's about to replace me. But I suppose that we'll just have to wait and see. There's a lot on my mind that I want to tell her.

I fumed silently as I awaited her reply. There was no way that she was getting out of this one easily. I could feel the wind automatically forming a spell. I tried to force myself to calm down, but it wasn't going to happen. I was left with little choice of how to direct the wind, and it wasn't long after that my feet lifted off the ground.
Honestly, I knew that Makani was angry, but I never imagined that he could fly. I looked up at him wide-eyed. He touched down again not long after. "How long have you been able to do that?" I asked weakly. He only shrugged and replied. "A while." I shook my head, this was getting to be too much. I looked over to the little frog. "Give me a while, I need to think now. I'm tired, we'll deal with this later." I couldn't think of what else to say, and I went inside, this felt like it could only get worse.

I had hoped for a nice, long, restful night's sleep. Except that I couldn't get it. I was worrying too much, about what Makani had done, how he had just floated in the air. It was bothering me so much, that I couldn't get to sleep until the early hours of the morning.
I hoped that she wouldn't see me watching her, and I heaved a deep breath when she finally fell asleep as the sun rose. I blinked when I realized the tune that my chime was playing. A soft smile crossed my face, why hadn't I realized it earlier? That I could have played her to sleep with one of my new skills. I looked in on her once more and headed to the garden, I had to talk to the Solrana, we had have to sort out.
