Everybody likes whales right?
Whales are cool.
The answer is NEVER the Blue Whale except when it is (see every episode of QI where the Blue Whale is mentioned ever).
I like whales

We have a blue whale skeleton at my university. It hangs in the museum in the zoology building. Its HUGE.
Sperm whales are cool. I prefer narwhals though. They are like whale unicorns! I also like the fact that when I type unicorn whale into google it comes up with narwhals

I like the ninja whale. I mean the killer whale. I mean the orca. It's the only thing I know of smart enough to have fake eyes.

Lost in Fiction she said she will make a whale thread 3nodding hahahhahhahaha I find sperm whales fascinating .... and i would like to go whale watching someday my brain cannot comprehend how massive they are by photos alone I hope you get the chance. Though, out in the water, theres not much to compare their size to, so they dont seem at all that big. Unless the whales come really close... ...Which actually did happen one. I was wale watching in Hawaii (I know the place is amazing and all; I wish I could ship everyone there to see it at least once!) and we were seeing nothing. Stopped the boat cause someone thought they mighta seen a flipper, we were all looking one way, and suddenly a humpback breeched RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOAT! Thankfully, it was a somewhat larger (think sea patrol 2 level type thing) boat and the whale didn't land on it (which has happened to whale watches that got too close to the whales, something they shouldn't do), but we got to see the whales up close and personal. whee

@Fiction: Nah, stayed in the boat. We were stuck there for a bit, unable to turn on the motor until the whales swam farther away or we potentially coulda hurt them. But they kept swimming under the boat and stuff. I was thinking of this, though... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ATof6Dw_V0

While the recipes for cooking whales are rather uncommon, I've heard they can be quite delicious. Perhaps I should make a visit to the Faroe Isles someday.
