Tiny heels tapped along the linoleum floors of the main building. She knew she'd find Otto around here somewhere, puttering along with a computer or interviewing more Halloween students. Maybe even a weaponization or two.
She eventually found him, and approached like a tiger on the hunt. No noise, just quiet, little steps until she was right next to him.
"Hello Otto. Busy?"

Why yes, Otto was puttering on a computer. And oh my, Ami's sneaky approach nearly made him jump. His nerves now rattled, he flinched as he turned, staring up at the woman from his seat. Most of his injuries were now healed, his Fear Shield back in business. A light scar on his cheek remained, one on his brow. Evidence of his near death experience. "Uuuh..." His icy gaze flicked to the boring computer work he'd been doing before looking back up. "Not really? Whaddya want?"

Ami blinked as the younger hunter jumped, genuinely surprised by his reaction. Wasn't he a death hunter? Weren't they supposed to be able to predict things before they happened? Weren't they supposed to predict traps?
She shrugged inwardly. "I heard- oh my word Otto, what happened to your face dear?" Before he could protest, her hand was on his chin, rotating his face back and forth. She needed to know what hurt him so she could kick its butt.

Otto's eyes widened as she inspected his face closely, suddenly faced with her close proximity at her inspection. "Uh.. long story." He mumbled, is face turning this way and that as she moved his head around. Heaven forbid she lift his shirt to see the real damage.
"Long story short: Body possessing Halloween creature. If ya see one, warp out ASAP."

Ami's eyebrows furrowed in worry. She couldn't claim to have no scars either( in fact, it was quite the opposite, she was covered in them) but it still bothered her that Otto was damaged. Mostly because she wanted to protect Otto from anything bad.
Anything. Including Eva. A sigh and she said, "Duly noted, thank you. But- that's not what I came here for."
Suddenly it seemed somewhat awkward. She rubbed her hands together, lightly biting her lip. "Ah ... I heard from Lex that you were ... seeing someone?"

It was funny. Somehow Otto didn't take into account how gossipy Deus was. But putting so many people on an island together for long periods of time, it was inevitable. He really should have expected it.
"Uh, yeah.." Otto's gaze flicked down for a moment. "Eva.." His cheeks flushed pink.

Ami looked at him somewhat skeptically. "You're not playing her, are you?" She couldn't help it. It had nothing to do with Otto, she was just worried. "Or ... well I can't imagine her playing you."
Eva was too sweet for that. Much too nice. If she was being honest with herself, Eva was actually quite a good choice for Otto. She knew the two were already close as can be- in fact, she was guilty of thinking they were already together before.
It didn't mean she wasn't suspicious and on high alert.
Super high alert.

Otto's eyes seemed to take on a fire to them, his teeth gritting together. "No. M'not playin' her." He was insulted. Almost hurt that Ami would think that.
Maybe Ami didn't think much of him after all...

"Good. You'd be less than I thought you were," Ami said, grinning lightly and jokingly patting his shoulder. "Oh don't look so sad. You two are cute."
A stern look crossed her face. "If she ever does anything ... just let me know, alright?" There was a silently implied "I'll kick her a**."
Just in case.

His grouchy expression remained, the bad mood Otto always seemed to default to lingering strong.
He huffed and leaned back, crossing his arms and giving the woman a haughty raise of his brow. "As if she'd pull anythin'." Eva was a perfect angel in his minds eye. "Eva ain't like that." His words were on edge, reflected in his posture and demeanor.

The genuine disgruntled behavior only reassured Ami. The more Otto acted like himself- all protective and grumpy- the better she felt. If he was awkward and uncomfortable, she'd reflect that attitude.
"Hey, hey. I'm not trying to say anything. I'm happy for you." She put a hand up to try and undo the crossed arms. "Please don't be mad at me?"

Otto leered at the woman a while. A good long while of disgruntled and weary leering.
And then he huffed, relaxing his posture ever slightly. "Fine." Was he mad? Who could say~ "Was that all ya wanted? Cause if rilin' me up was yer goal, then it was damn well achieved."

Ami poked him in the sides and wiggled her head a little bit. "Oh yes,my primary goal is to make you as depressed as possible," she chided sarcastically, a light smile on her face. It was nice, teasing him like this. With her latest developments, Ami felt lighter than ever, and even somewhat jovial.
It worried her a little that Otto was particularly grumpy today. "Is there something eating at you?"

Otto squeaked when poked, and slid back his chair as far as it would go. Eyes wide and cheeks red. He didn't need another female knowing he was ticklish!
"Not really." He muttered with a glare. "Ya just had me on the defensive, so now I'm cranky." At least he admitted he was cranky.
Wait.. when was he not cranky?

"Oh," Ami said somewhat dejectedly. She hadn't meant to make the boy cranky. Otto just had a tendency to be like that.
"So I can't make it up to you? Not even with some food?" Was she dangling a reward in front of his face? Yes she was.
