Maple had felt just awful leaving the boil so abruptly at the Gazebo. Even though so much of her hesitated in participating in this event, she had included her name in and she felt the obligation to return and meet her match. Hopefully she would find AJ again later, and apologize profusely for her behavior. Would he understand? He was such a nice boil too.
Slowly, Maple found her way to the blanket that the very pink ghoul had indicated would be for her and her... speed date. The blanket itself wasn't so bad, black and orange checkered and she kind of like the rose petals. But the music was... a little weird and she wasn't sure what to make of the basket. Maple left it alone for now, more inclined to fiddling with her hands after sitting down.
And waited.

AJ slowly entered the area, there were people chatting. He waved to Desu and asked about which blanket he should be going. The lovely lady gestured to a certain blanket over somewhere with a petite ghoul waiting on it. Would she be someone he know or just another potential new friend? The ghoul was sitting with her back facing AJ, so the serpent dragon boil couldn't tell. He made a short-cut to reach the blanket and apologized for his lateness on the date before stepping onto the blanket. " Sorry for the lateness, miss. I am AJ, your date today." His tone was soft and amiable. The smile he offered grew bigger when the ghoul turned her face towards him. What a big surprise!

The wait hadn't been that long, though long enough for Maple to dwell even further with the whole ordeal and tear apart at least two of the rose petals. This was going to go so badly, that's all she could think about. Especially after ditching another boil for this.
Maple's head picked up once she head his initial apology and she turned with a stunned look. Really, what were the odds of all this? Getting paired up with the very same serpant-dragon that she had left behind, able to get a second chance and even give her second apology.
"I-I'm so s-sorry f-for l-leaving you .. back t-there," she stuttered out with a shy smile. At this time, she had pulled herself up to her feet. It would be rude to stay seated.
This was a second chance, "i-its.. n-nice .. to m-meet you.. a-again.."

It seemed Maple was a bit shocked to meet him again, she was giving an adorable unbelieving face to AJ. The boil waved his hand back and forth a ffew times quick to indicate he didn't mind at all. " You didn't really leave me there, my little witch. Remember? You have said goodbye to me already, so not need to feel sorry for that at all." He gave a smile to give the ghoul some breathing spaces. " And - I have to thank you, if not you, I would forgot I have signed up for this. The booths are just too much fun." AJ winked to the little lady, hoping she would relax a bit. Seeing that Maple was sitting in a very formal way, he leaned a bit and resting one of his arms on his knee. " If I were you, I won't sit that way. You will get tired soon." AJ commented. " Actually, I don't know what we should do in a dating like this. So just relax and chat like friends?" The suggestion would be good for both of them.

Maple still couldn't help but feel bad, even as he consoled her on the issue. She had said her goodbyes, true enough but still, "I.. h-had l-left so.. qu-quickly," was the main issue. But Aj was so terribly understanding, so cordial to her dilemma and even managed to turn it into a positive. The little witch couldn't help but blush.
It seemed that was enough to close that matter, at least in her mind. Mostly because she didn't want to dwell on it further, it would probably send her into a panic and how good of a date would that be? "I d-don't.. r-really know.. e-either," she admitted, relaxing her back to a small slouch (yes, because he had said something). Her fingers went back to work on a few of the rose petals, her eyes glancing at the assortment that Desu had provided for them. It was a small collection, but nothing she could see to get her in any sort of romantic mood. Honestly, she found them more like ingredients to make something.
"C-chatting.. w-would be.. nice," she smiled, pulling her attention back to AJ. Topics.. topics. Oh course she couldn't think of any topics. "H-have.. you p-played at a l-lot of the b-booths...?" She asked. Jack, that was lame. He probably had a better topic starter than that.

" Not much. I guess I will have to play more after this. So far....I think the Haters and the Whack-a-poof booths are quite good. The former has some good minis as prizes and the latter helps you to release your negative feelings. How about you? Which booth is your favourite?" AJ didn't think this topic was boring at all, they are in the festival booths, what's better than talking about them? He smiled to the little witch, hoping he will make her less uneasy. " Be a gentleman to ladies, AJ!" He recalled what his Shishou said again. While waiting for Maple to reply, he unloaded his big bag and let the head to pester the foxsock as it wish. By doing this, he can ensure the head won't disturb their conversation and causing any troubles.

It came to realize that Maple hadn't actually learned the names of the booths that she had attended, nor that she had actually gone to very many. "T-the d-darts were fun," she replied in a kind of sort of agreement. He had mentioned it as well without her realizing, "t-though I d-didn't d-do too.. well..." though, like she had expected as much.
"T-there's W-whack a-p-poof?" That was one she hadn't tried at all, had she seen it? She wasn't sure. The title of the game seemed self explanatory enough but she hadn't even seen the game in her wanderings and she had to be honest, it kind of intrigued her. Releasing negative feelings, that... sounded delightful really.

From Maple's reply, AJ could tell that she didn't remember the names of the booths she has visited. " Yep. Answer to her question with addition of some of his experienes. " The plushies are so real that I once mistakely thought they are real. Luckily, a lady passed away solved my doubt. You should try it, the plushie make interesting squeaks when they are hit and it's much easier than the dart game." If the little witch failed the dart game and being unhappy, that booth might cheer her up as there is no losing or winning at the game.

"O-oh, s-so th-they're n-not.. real..." Was there a hint of disappointment in her voice? Well maybe just a little. Or maybe surprise, given the nature of their world. Then again, using real Poofs would be an annoyance to clean up. Poofs generally did not have horns, so they were often looked over from her usual mini loves.
"I-I'll h-have to t-try it," she at least decided. "I-I a-also found.. a c-cafe," she went on to explain as best she could, "i-it had.. g-games as w-well b-besides d-drinks," Well, she had witnessed a game that she knew of. "I-it s-seemed.. nice..."

Was there a disappointing tone he just heard?" Probably not." Who can imagine if those poofs were real, it would be such a horrible thing to see as a secret fluffball lover. The boil frowned a bit and recovered promptly when Maple continued. " Oh really? It would be a good place to take a break. Thank you for telling me this." There was a praising smile for the little witch. " Talking about food, do you think they provide with some snacks for us? I am a little bit hungry." The boil rubbed the back of his head a few times. chirigami Any foods provided by Desu? OwO

"Y-you're w-welcome," Maple smiled at the praise, failing to catch the frown that had been momentary on his lips. Who would have imagined that AJ was a secret fluffball lover, though by the looks of herself one wouldn't think she liked the more bad a** ready to take names ones.
At the mention of food, her eyes instantly went to the little basket that they had been provided. She hadn't given it much thought, or well in the sense that they probably were supposed to, so she hadn't explored the contents of it. Maple could only imagine what was in it, given what else was on the picnic blanket. Reaching out as carefully as she could, she pulled the little plastic thing closer to the pair of them so they could both see inside.
Well, this is where the plastic cubs would have come in handy. "S-soda," she noted as she picked up one of the bottles. "A-and... ch-chocolates?" That wasn't a whole lot.
Oh, there was something else, "a-and p-paper?" Curious, Maple picked one of the slips out from the bottom of the basket and flipped it over.
And then turned beat red, and quickly hid it from view. That... that was horrible!

" Can I have a chocolate please?" AJ reached out his hand. And then- - he saw Maple hiding something and her face was as red as his scarf?! " Is there anything wrong with the paper?" AJ asked with curious. Since they met, he knew Maple is a shy ghoul, but this was the first time he saw her blushing like that, why? The boil got a bit closer to check if the little witch was hurt or else, it's so weird for her behavior like that.

Chocolate, yes. Maple gladly offered him one of those, in an awkward sort of way where she was trying oh so hard not to drop it as she pulled it from the basket and out to him.
The paper was out of the question though, and she could still feel her face burning. It would be a disaster if he saw it, she could only imagine how badly. The words on it were crude and rather suggestive to the sheltered and prudish little witch. But he was looking at her funny, even getting closer to see if anything was the matter.
Maple held out the paper too towards him as well with her eyes averted.

He threw the chocolate into his mouth, it was not bad, quite creamy and smooth. He wondered if Desu made them herself. Why Maple shoved him the paper and looked away? He took the paper and found: READ ONE OF THE LINES OUT 8DDDDD 1) Can't you see I'm hungry for a kiss? 2) Your lips were made to kiss 3) For one kiss of your lips I'd give half my life . 4) Am I the first girl you never kissed? 5) I never knew it could be like this. Nobody ever kissed me the way you do . 6) Put 7) your 8 ) imagination 9) in 10) it
Ok, he understood why the ghoul was blushing now. It's so embarrassing for a shy witch like Maple to read something like that out. AJ didn't know what to do.......

At least there didn't seem to be anything wrong with the chocolates, or Maple could hope as she heard him chew the piece she had offered him.
"W-were w-we s-supposed .. to r-read th-them t-to each... other?" She asked him, finally meeting his gaze again. The blush was at least receding, but the look of contempt over the piece of paper was still there. "T-they're ... awful..."
Lewd and they just sounded terrible really, did these sort of lines work for creeple? She might not get out much, but she liked to think she would never fall for such words. Well. Hope, yes.
