Mabaya was walking away from the rest of his family. He was not in the mood to be criticized for having a lighter coloured coat. He rolled his eyes at his mother's preferences to children. He thought she should just love them all equally. He sighed, and walked off to the bushes where he could think. He had a very special spot for his thoughts, but he didnt want to go there, he was afraid a sibling would find him, then he wouldnt be able to go there ever again. Rolling his eyes yet again he slinked into the thick, tall bushes. Speaking quietly to himself, he began his thoughts
"Mum! why do you have to be like this. yeah, i love my sister, but she ALWAYS gets the praise, i feel like dirt compared to them..." He loved his sister with all his heart, he definitely had a good heart, but it was more evil them light. "You can even treat the Pansy better then your 'lighter coloured' children" He didnt think it mattered if you were bright white, it was just a colour. He huffed. He regularly thought like this, but he loved his mother, even though his thoughts would say other-wise, he loved her, and he knew she loved him to, she just refused to show it and pass around the love fairly.
"Mum, Being evil hearted is fine, but you cant be evil to your children, it could bite you in the tail one day." he strongly believed in karma, so he wasnt always evil, he just decided he liked being evil much better. Seeing a small mouse scuttle by a tail length away, he decided to jump and catch it, and swiftly kill it. He plopped his body to the ground, and bit the small mouse, eating slowly.

If he'd known there was someone in the bushes, he would have avoided them altogether. That was the purple leopard's thought the instant after he strode through the greenery in his search for a drink. There, chowing down on a mouse, was a young leopon cub. Reflexively, Susurro closed his eyes, willing himself not to see. The last vision he'd had had been better - that young lion surrounded by death yet not dying himself of the same cause - therefore it would be quite some time before he saw anything nearly so encouraging. And it was always hard to see the death of a cub, even if that demise was years in the future. It reinforced the idea that no one was immortal. Not even the gods. Hmm. It seemed the boy hadn't noticed him yet. Perhaps he could simply pad around and pretend this encounter hadn't happened at all.

Mabaya heard him, lifted is small head, and saw the purple leopard before his eyes. He never really had an encounter with a leopard outside of the family. Maybe he didnt notice him, maybe this could be avoided all together. But, he felt as if he should at least maybe say hello. He opened his mouth to say something, but all that cam out was "uhh..." He took another bite of mouse that was quickly swallowed. Why did he say anything? He gave himself a mental shake and was prepared for whatever the leopard had to say to him, whether it be rude or nice, he didnt care.
Mabaya decided he was done his food, since it had almost no meat on it, and pushed it to the side, and started to groom his little white paws from any blod that had managed to spill from his mouth. Looking down, he saw splats of blood on his muzzle, and licked them off, leaving the white parts free of grime.

Well, damn. He'd been spotted. And to make matters worse, from the leopard's point of view, the cub had put aside his meal and was now grooming himself.
Great. What did the kid want from him?
Susurro, of course, had no interest whatsoever in talking to the boy. It wasn't that he had any problems with children - they were, they grew, etc. - it was more that the Seer went out of his way to avoid as much interaction as he possibly could. Thus he could avoid foreseeing the deaths of so very many creatures.
But there were days like today when his luck was just plain out and now he had to live with it.
At least this cub was being quiet. The last one had been talking to a frog. The one before that had just started yammering at him. That made this leopon by far his favorite of the lot.

Mabaya was feeling really awkward around this leopard. He hadnt said anything, and neither and Mabaya really. "so, are you just gonna stay mute the rest of the day?" he huffed at him. He probably came off mean or rude or something, but hey, at least he wasnt afraid to speak his mind once in a while.
He only then realized he wasnt able to think his thoughts anymore. He frowned, and continued to wait for this feline to at least clear his throat, or...something. He gave a mental shake, and pawed the ground.

The purple leopard turned to face the boy and studied the young leopon. Not afraid of him, that could be good or bad. Impertinent or bold. Perhaps a bit of both. Useful traits for survival.
It seemed he had little choice but to speak to the boy. Ah well, so much for his faint hope. Hopefully this would be a cub who didn't waste words, such as so many other creatures he'd met.
"I could choose to," Susurro answered mildly.

Mabaya snorted "well, either that, or you just have nothing to say. which i respect..."
He did respect that. he did it all the time, so why wouldnt he? "this is...kinda awkward..."
he thought. he wasnt for sure, but it was probably awkward for the leopard too, now that he thought about it.

Against his will, the leopard felt his estimation of the young hybrid rising. Here was a cub who was unafraid to speak his mind! That would only help or hurt him in the future, and the purple leopard could see times it would be both.
"Or, perhaps there is too much to say, and none of it worth being spoken aloud," the older feline replied. There still wasn't much emotion in his voice, despite his gradually changing opinion of the youngster.
It didn't do to get too attached to others in Susurro's experience. Not when you could see how things would end.

"hmm, thats true." He was surprised at how he mostly understood the answer, hell, he surprised himself when he even spoke the words aloud. He stayed in a small state of shock for a moment. "but...why would you say that?" He was curious. usually he would just let others go about there business, but, this sentence peaked the smoldering curiosity inside him about this starnger

A smile quirked Susurro's lips as he considered the response and question. There was definitely intelligence here, which should be nurtured.
"I say it because it is the truth, and because there is no reason in life to lie," he replied simply, taking a few more steps on his way.
There was no reason to stay overly long, for guests, like fish, began to stink fairly certain. Besides, this leopon did not need his aid, only a few new thoughts to consider for the rest of his life.

"oh, i think i here my mother calling me. and by the way, i was curious about your name...mines Mabaya." he bowed his head at the older feline. he gave a mental shrug, it was out of respect, and goodbye.

"Susurro," the leopard answered softly as the boy ran off.
Hmm, curious. He wasn't overly impressed by how quickly the cub gave into his mother, but perhaps she ruled the family with an iron paw. He couldn't be certain, but it wasn't the most favorable impression to end on.
Oh well. Such was life, and he had best make himself scarce and avoid this area and the creatures in it.
