Ladon id not enter stores like this. It had always been a sort of principle that he didn't have a need to go here and that only somewhat depraved people looking for a blowup doll would want to even enter.
But that was before Ladon had been with someone, and after being with Billy for a long time, his viewpoint of such a place had changed.
The Spot was, in lamest terms, a adult store. The sort of adult with a capital 'A' in flashing neon usually accompanied by a sexy silhouette of a woman. Despite being 20, he still felt like a teenager and not allowed here. The thought of being scolded was lurking like a cloud over his head, but then he remembered that there was absolutely no one around to punish him.
Considering he risked his life every day fighting senshi and spent plenty of time in the Rift with actual monsters, it should have been silly to be so terrified just to enter a place, but somehow he managed to grip some feeble courage and step in.
Seeing that Valentine's day was right around the corner, he expected places like this to be packed, but there were only a few people - though even that was enough. Though they were in the same store, he felt they might look at him with disapproval so he moved to look at some shelves and turn his back to them - only to see the stock of some rather uncensored dvds.

It was quite early in the day, and fortunately for Ladon, that meant that foot traffic in The Spot was spaced out. Unfortunately, it meant that every customer received attention by the friendly salespeople. Today, that was Avery Hollister.
The British girl had been on a short footstool, balancing with surprising skill on her heels to carefully place instructional books on a shelf. The small chime at the door alerted her to a new presence and so she stepped down, adjusting the skirt of her colorful, playful dress with a twitch of her fingers.
"Good afternoon," her accent was warm, with just the right amount of enthusiasm as she joined him at the dvd rack. It had a mix of instructional tapes and pornography, and she flicked her eyes over the shelf before looking to his stricken expression. "Can I help you find something, sweetheart?"

Customer service was great in places like clothing stores, bookstores, and when you where trying to find where they kept the peanut butter in a grocery store. This was not one of the times he felt comfortable telling someone what he was looking for. Stating you like Chunky peanut butter at the grocery store was a lot different than declaring your sexual preference belonged to the same team at this place, not to mention that you were looking for help in such an area. Anything he saw revealed way too much - and to a complete stranger!
However, he knew that lingering here too long and just parusing the aisles was not a good thing either. He didn't want to look at more than he needed.
There were two things he needed to find. It was saying it that he was having the most difficulty with. "Ah, yes. Um. Right. Well, I was looking, well I wasn't looking looking. I'm trying to find, well I was just thinking about finding.." He had to stop looking at these dvd covers.
Turning, he looked over at her. "Are there any books?"

Avery patiently waited out his stammering, a pleasant smile on her face. It may have been a new experience for Ladon, but it wasn't for her, and she was hoping he'd stick around long enough to break through his embarrassment and get what he needed.
"Books? Of course!" A manicured hand gestured beyond them, to the tables of books and bookstands in the center of the room. They covered a range of topics, from erotica, to BDSM, to relationship advice. "Why don't I let you browse, and you let me know if you have any questions?"
Poor thing.

He was left looking at what felt like a million covers. Some were simple, other showed sensual shapes, and other had full on porn covers. His eyes roamed the covers, not wanting to look as if, standing in a porn store, he'd be considered a pervert for looking at the books, but then again he had to read them. Books were the best places for answers, and he felt there was only so much one could leech from the internet and various videos that made him glad he had antivirus software.
Swallowing, he reached out, but quickly brought his hand back. He really wasn't too sure which one would be best. Some titles seemed promising and some titles were things he was curious about the second he read them, but all in all he felt like whatever he touched would label him. If he got any one book, it would state not only what he was interested in, but what he was curious to find out more about. If he got too many books, it would seem like he either wanted sex all the time (Sure, he was a guy but he didn't want to appear as a horn dog), or he knew NOTHING about sex.
All he knew was that a while back, Billy had given him a gift that seemed like a joke but one he seemed very interested in. Something like a hint, and ever since Billy requested a certain request during his birthday, he felt that, for the guy who always lead the way and did everything for him, it was his turn to surprise his boyfriend.
He just had to ask, but waving the girl over seemed a bit - well, too much. Instead, he just decided the tactic of glancing at her and hoping their eyes met would be enough to get her to come over - no matter how many minutes he had to do this.
