Aerith~The apprentice Orderite and her cart trundled along the cobblestones of the Living Quarters of the Celestial Plane.

At long last! she thought, Finally I am free to travel the world and see anything and everything my heart desires! The sweet smell of bakeries and the charcoal scent of smithies filled the afternoon air. The Dovaa bustled by, busy with daily life sporting scales and clothes of all colours, some stopping long enough to peruse Aerith's glittering baubles. One small Dovaa, horns barely more than nubs on her forehead ran up, clutching her money close to her chest.

Aerith smiled and brought down the bracelet the girl pointed to and as she ran back to her mother Aerith waved, beaming with pride. My first sale! If you could see me now, Father. Aerith's smile dimmed a little but she continued pushing her cart of jewelry along the uneven road, headstrong as ever.

This was her first time off Serenia and she was resolved to make a name for herself here in the bustling city.

Not many things stopped Esmeralda while she was in her safe cocoon in the celestial plane, but when she set her eyes on the Orderite with streaked pink hair walking down the living quarters, Esme stopped in her tracks. This was the first non Dovaa she was seeing here, and she was selling bracelets? Esme blinked a few times, this was quite unexpected and needed to be investigated. Plus, maybe she had something Esmeralda could buy, she’d wanted to change up her style now that she was a scholar and no longer a warrior, this would be the perfect opportunity to show it off.

Weaving through the people, Esme found her way to the cart. “Hello!” The Dovaa offered the seller a smile before her eyes went down to look at the jewelry the girl was offering. “I’m looking for something for my hair.” Something pretty to make her seem older would be nice, she was growing into her teen years so it would be nice to have something reflect that now. “What do you suggest?” Esmeralda looked up to the merchant again, she really wanted to ask her where she’d come from, how she’d gotten here and a whole slew of questions, it could be perceived as rude so Esme stayed quiet for now.

Aerith welcomed her second customer with a delicate curtsy. She was the first Dovva she had encountered that was roughly Aerith's age, giving her a pang of home-sickness as she thought of her childhood friends back in Serenia. Pull it together, Aerith! she thought to herself, you've worked so hard to get here to turn back now.

Instead of dwelling on past thoughts, Aerith pulled her mind into the present and stared fascinatedly at the Dovaan's pure white horns for a moment before replying.
"Ah, well I've something that will look lovely with your complexion." She said and busied herself with pulling out a folded bundle from one of her cart's many drawers and unwrapped it on the counter. Inside lay a ring of folded gold, bearing a polished amethyst bordered by a filigree of silver. The gem was almost a perfect match for the young Dovaan's eyes, Aerith thought, enjoying the way the sun gleamed off the gold band.

"You could fit it around your bun, here, if you'll allow me." Aerith reached up to place the bauble onto her customer's head and produced a mirror, holding it up so the girl could see.

Esmeralda blushed lightly under the stare of the other girl; no one usually stared at her so this was a tad awkward for her. If she was going to be selling her wares within the Dovaa society, she was going to have to learn not to stare too much or some may take offence, especially from one of her kind.

“Thank you.” Esme watched her curiously, her eyes growing big when her eyes spotted the jewelry the girl was taking out. That gem was just perfect; this girl really knew her stuff. “Of course, go ahead.” Esme bent at the knee so the girl could reach her head easily. When the young merchant produced the mirror, her face lit up like fireworks. “This looks so pretty, do you have any earrings that match maybe?”

Questions were bubbling up, Esmeralda wanted to ask her plenty of things, but would it be considered rude? “I’m Esmeralda by the way, what’s your name? I haven’t seen you around here,” she lowered her voice a bit. “You aren’t exactly Dovaa so it’s a little odd to see someone like you here.” Hopefully the girl wouldn’t think she was rude by asking her.

Aerith smiled sweetly and busied herself with procuring a matching set of earrings from a different drawer, needing to stand on her tip-toes to reach the handle.

"I'm called Aerith." She said in response to Esmerelda's question, but took a moment to unwrap the amethyst earrings from their smaller bundle before replying. They glittered in the afternoon sunlight just like their counterpart, white gold thin as spun thread looped around the gems.

"Yes, this is my first time on the Celestial Pane, actually." Aerith said, indicating the framed note of permission, signed by Marcus Ysaride that hung beneath the lantern at the fore of her cart.

"I'm a trained historian and jewel-crafter through the academy on Serenia. My special passion is Dovaan history, so I approached Master Ysaride and he granted me passage here on the proposal that I sell my wares diligently and not stir up trouble." Aerith said all this as she expertly slotted the earrings into Esmerelda's ears. They dangled there, catching the light and bouncing it off into a thousand angles.

“Nice to meet you Aerith!” That was a pretty name; Esmeralda imaged all Orderites to have pretty names. This encounter also struck Esme as odd, Aerith was the first Orderite she was actually really meeting and getting to know.

Esmeralda took a quick look at the permission note and nodded, offering Aerith a smile. “Well welcome! How do you like it so far? Are people nice to you? Your wares must be quite the treasure since no one has to go out and buy them.” If she had such pretty jewelry it would be saving a lot of them some travel time.

“Ohh.” Esme looked at herself in the mirror, smiling as she moved her head from left to right to observe the earrings. “That’s really neat, I study dragons myself. Just became a scholar actually.” She really wanted to buy these. “So you’re here to study the Dovaa and sell your things? I’m sure you won’t get into much trouble, we’re not in the war for a reason!” Esme finally stopped to look at herself. "I'm going to take both."

Esmerlada handed the gold over to the merchant, thanking her for the beautiful jewlery and skipped away.
