Kadryn was sauntering about Serenia looking for something to do. She didn't feel like going hunting or training so she'd left with an idea that maybe if she just wandered about enough, something would pop up to entertain her.
As she wandered the golden fields and forests enjoying the new spring she let her mind wander back to her Apprentice days. Her failures to beat a Ysali till she'd met a small feminine dovaa called Ismiril. He was so fragile that Kadryn wondered what he was doing; fighting did not seem to be something he would enjoy not succeed at, so how would he survive being an Apprentice and the tough fights.

Miri knew that he shouldn't have just left like he had, but he wasn't going to stand for Lero's abuse any further. The older Dovaa had already broken one of his horns, he wasn't going to stick around and wait for him to break his skull too. And boy had Matron Ana been hopping mad at him. Or for him. He didn't know some days. But the older woman was also one of the reasons why he was skiving off today's lesson in further humiliation and torture.
He was going to talk to some craftsmen and see who was willing to apprentice him! The thought alone was enough to break his concentration and push the already violate Lero off the deep end. He'd barely made his escape from the man when he'd blown his top.
But now here he was, wandering around a flowering field in Serenia, the forest line for once not looking so foreboding, with a sketch pad under one arm and his satchel on his shoulder. Life was looking up for once. Now if only he had someone to share his excitement with, but he didn't have any friends. Well, one maybe, but he also thought he had a crush on her. The vibrant Orderite he'd met only once who'd literally saved his hide from the mean dragon.
He wondered what she was doing now as he settled down in amongst the flowers and started to weave a flower crown.

Kadryn say something flash in the sky above her; shading her eyes, she looked up to see what it was. A Drakein or Dragon soared high above, flitting about in the wind. "Maybe I should go hunting? Nah." Kadryn muttered to herself as she shook her head as she kept walking forward while looking up. She just wasn't in the mood to kill today. Kadryn kept an eye on the flying creature, enjoying the sight of the magestic beast. She had always admired them, even as she killed them.
Since she was walking without looking where she was going, she didn't see the sitting figure until she'd tripped over him. Falling flat on her face, Kadryn barely managed to keep from eating dirt. Rolling over she looked up and saw Ismiril. He still looked small and feminine, escpecially since he was braiding flowers together! Kadryn laughed out loud, she'd just been thinking of him and here he was!
"Hey Ismiril! Long time no see. We seem to only meet when one of us trips over the other!" She grinned up at him from her prone position before sitting up.

So engrossed as he was with weaving together the tiny stems, it was easy for him to remain oblivious to Kadryn as she was of him. It was only when she tripped over him that he noticed her. Flinching back from the light pressure he peeked open an eye at the laugh, only to join in the moment he realized just who it was.
"Kadryn! Look at you! You've gotten taller" He exclaimed, jumping up to pounce on her, a wide grin on his face. "Prettier too. What do they feed you guys over there? I bet you could lift me up with one arm." He made as if to start poking and prodding her arms as he took the moment to really look her over. She looked much the same as she had when they'd last met, only she looked older, taller, and had more scars. Her hair was still short and her eyes still oh so very blue.
But then his eyes hit what looked like an undershirt, only upon closer inspection he realized that it was bandages wrapped tightly together. "Hey, are you hurt? You didn't crack your ribs did you?" He asked, tugging at the bit of bandage that her vest didn't cover a frown twisting his lips.

Kadryn smiled down at the smaller Dovaa.
"Nah, just some scratches from my first fight with a Firani." The bites didn't bother her, the burns from her disastrous Kiandri fight a while back did.. but she wouldn't show those to Ismiril, no need to make him worry. A slight purple blush showed on her cheeks when Ismiril called her pretty; it was so unusual to be complimented on her looks.. usually it was about how strong and tough she was, never how pretty. Did other girls flirt to get compliments? Cause it was nice being complimented..... Kadryn was still curious about this thing called romance and tried to see why others did what they did in hopes of understanding this foreign concept.
She reached out and fuzzed Ismiril's hair. "I eat tasty food! And lots of it! Don't worry about the hurts. I'm pretty used to them by now. They heal in time and usually without scars, unlike magical attacks. How've you been lately?" She decided to change the subject before he got to worried about her wounds.

Ismiril eyed her in a way that told her that he knew what she was trying to do when she changed the topic, "I'm still going to worry about you. You're tough and to keep getting stronger you need to fight tougher opponents. Dragons are strong and are seen as the perfect way to hone your skills." He said, before pressing his lips together, "I can't make you promise to stay safe, just... just please don't lose yourself to the lust of the hunt."
He looked down at this hands, and deftly finished braiding the last bits of the crown together, which he then dropped on Kadryn's hair. He had to reach a bit to do so, but he did it, and smiled at her. "It looks good on you." He said as he tried to fix his own mussed hair. He pouted briefly at her then lit up, "I'm going to quit my combat training and take up a crafting trade!" He exclaimed, leaning towards her, "I'm going to go talk to different people soon and get enrolled into a College and actually get to do things I'm good at! Because being someones moving target isn't much of a profession." He said with a scowl. "Nor is it good for my health." He added under his breath.

Kadryn smiled, Ismiril really was such a sweet person! And how could she promise to not loose her self to the hunt? She already had.. lots of times! No way was she gonna tell him that though....
"Thank you," she smiled at the gift and compliment. "Oh! You are? Good for you! People should do what they love to do! Not what others want them to do!" She declared, it was a good thing Ismirli was out of the bloody business, he was much too nice to be a hunter... Plus if it made him happy, than he should do it. Kadryn knew that not all were born to fight, her mother certainly wasn't! And her little brother looked to be following his mother in that.
"You have to come find me and tell me what it is once you get a new trade! I would have been a chief if I hadn't been so good at fighting." Kadryn smiled, some days she did wish she could just cook and forget about the whole dragon hunt and war things, but she knew that her heart was that of a barbarian, she just couldn't give it up.

Kadryn suddenly realized that she'd promised her uncle a few hours of sparring. Standing up she said goodbye to Ismiril and told him he had to come see her again when he had the time.
