User ImageIt had been a few days since the last time the angelic had wandered the streets of the town. Not that Juliette hadn't wanted to, but that she had been too caught up in other things. Not the least of which was a book. She decided this morning that she would finally get some fresh air.

Even if only to then sit back down to read once more. If Juliette had been thinking, she would have left the book at home. But she was having a hard time putting it down. She didn't even bother to notice the male she was sitting down next to. Normally Juliette would have been hesitant to join a stranger. The book demanded reading.

Percy was sitting curled up on a bench reading Shakespeare's "A Midsummer's Nights Dream" an old favorite of his. He looked up in surprise at the soft thump on the bench beside him. He let out a soft silent gasp as the lovely noodle sat down beside him. Quickly he pulled his attention back to his book, but he wasn't reading it he was staring blankly at the page thinking " Oh mai gawd what do I do!?! There is a lovely lady sat beside me and I want to say hi" His inner monologue said " SO say 'hi' you silly!" Percy cleared his throat softly and looked over at the lady to see if that would catch her attention.

Juliette was once again immersed in her book when her ears caught a sound close by. She stiffened, ever so slightly, before looking around to find the source. She was shocked to find the stranger sitting beside her. How long had he been there? Was she bugging him? Had that cough been an attempt to get her to clear out?

"I'm so sorry," Juliette said while quickly shutting her book. She angled herself to face the other before bowing her head. "I did not mean to invade your space. I only wished to continue my book..." Juliette's voice trailed off as she glanced at what the male was holding. It looks like she had found a fellow reader. Her worries slowly washed away as her curiosity piqued. Juliette silently indicated the other's book with a slow gesture of her paw. "Is that one any good?"

Percy gave the femme a lopsided smile and flipped his head to get the tuft of hair out of his eyes. Looking at her full on his eyes widened slightly. She was lovely she was!

"Oh, no need to be sorry....." He said softly...."urms...ahh..." Percy had to turn the book over to see what he was reading.. " Oh one of the best. Its a shakespearean comedy, its hilarious!" He shifted softly and cast about for a way to continue the converstation not wanting her to leave. " Urms, what are you reading?"

Juliette returned the stranger's smile, finding his grin affectionate. She started to feel flustered, though, as she felt his eyes take her in. It had been a while since Juliette was paid so much attention. She quickly diverted her own eyes back down to his book. She was delighted to hear that she did not have to leave.

"Hmm, I haven't gotten a chance to read that one yet. Perhaps I'll read it next," Juliette said easing back into the conversation. "I'm reading The Phantom of the Opera. A friend recomended it." Juliette blushed, embarrassed to admit to the story. It seemed cliche for her to be reading a story that featured a masked stranger when she wore a mask herself.

At the lovely femme's smile Percy began to feel something in his stomach- roiling softly about, like, gentle wings. Perhaps this is what they meant when they talked about having Butterfly's in your tummy! He was so distracted with this feeling that he almost missed what she said.

"Phantom of the Opera huh?" He quoted back lamely. " I didn't know that was a book! I thought it was just a movie and a play." His eyes widened in horror as he put his foot in his mouth so he tried again "Well of course a play is a book, but..." Still no better so he finished off lamely "well oh my I've made a mess of this." He sighed soflty and tried one last time. " I'm Percy." He extended a paw. "And whom do I have the pleasure of meeting?" He gave another shy smile as he looked into her eyes, truly curious about the lovely masked stranger that had almost sat in his lap.

Juliette giggled as the male became flustered. "It's fine." She nodded, understanding clear in her eyes. "I, too, did not realize there was a book. My friend had to show it to me. Turns out it all started as a French novel that gained no success compared to its adaptations." Juliette looked solemn. She felt pity for the poor book in her paws. She patted it fondly, comforting it and its worn pages.

Juliette then remembered that the male had introduced himself. "I'm Juliette," she said as she took his paw. "Thank you for allowing me to stay." She offered Percy another smile. "Sometimes I forget to take my nose out of the book even while walking around." Juliette laughed at herself but continued to smile. Her embarrassment had eased away now that she knew the stranger's name and that he enjoyed reading too.

Percy nodded enthusiastically as the lovely lady talked about her book. He was always excited to learn new things about books. He didn't speak as she spoke not wanting to interupt her. His eyes followed her motions as she patted the book and he couldn't help but smile even more. His heart began to beat faster as he awaited the femmes next words. Which he was pleased to find was her name. Gently he took the paw and brought it slowly to his lips giving her ample time to object or pull away before he gave it a very light chaste kiss.

It is a pleasure to meet you Juliette. And you are most welcome to stay, we can start our own little reading circle. *he chuckled softly* I too forget to pay attention to what is around me, yet I must say it isn't every day one as lovely as you almost sits in my lap *He grinned again to take any sting out of his words* So.....the hardest question of all- What is your favorite book?

Juliette's cheeks warmed as Percy lifted her paw to his lips. She did not object to the gesture, knowing that most considered it a formal hello to any lady, but could not help feeling flustered. It did not help that now Juliette noticed how cute Percy was. His laugh was endearing too.

Juliette's face blossomed a subtle red at Percy's compliment. "Th-thank you," Juliette stuttered out. She took a moment to calm herself before answering Percy's question. "My favorite book would probably be A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens; despite the gruesome activities happening during the time-frame of the story. Though, to be honest, I'm more likely to pick up a musical's score." Juliette faced Percy and quirked her brow. "What about you?"

Percy was half shocked that he allowed him to greet her in such an old fashioned way, but his Father Patrick had instilled much of the old ways in him. And there was something about this femme he thought would appreciate it.

Looking down at her paw as he gently released it he inhaled, wondering if she wore perfume or what scent she might wear.

Then he heard her stutter and his gaze jerked to hers. He was momentarily alarmed as she paused but before he could panic she spoke again.

" My my my, you answered so fast I am impressed" He had to pause to swallow as he looked at her, finding his throat going dry "As for me I could no sooner chose a favorite book than pick a favorite star in the heavens. My mood changes from day to day and so does my favorite books. And a musical score..... do you play or sing?' He asked with genuine interest of the lovely he had found...or rather had found him.

Percy's words made Juliette feel a bit ashamed that she had picked a book so quickly. Her cheeks did not flush, but she could feel the heat in them, yet she kept a pleasant smile. She turned her head down to avoid Percy's gaze while she told herself he probably did not mean anything by his words. His demeanor was still friendly. He even asked her another question. Realizing this, Juliette lifted her face to reply.

"Do I sing?" Juliette tilted her head, pondering the question. "I don't think I've ever tried to sing. I have tried to play an instrument occasionally, but..." Juliette blushed quietly, a smile of amusement and embarrassment playing on her face. "No, no. I like to dance. That is how I express myself when it comes to music."

"Do you happen to play anything yourself? Or sing?" Juliette asked, leaning ever so slightly closer to Percy. She was obviously curious and even a bit excited to know if he did. She then checked herself and backed away. "It's alright if you aren't. You won't lose my company... if you care."

((FINALLY replying to this, no rush to reply if your busy, as I am sure you are, but I love this couple and want to see something come of them~!))

Percy watched as his words sunk in, and was surprised to see her turn away but he waited as she thought, hoping to still keep her engaged and learn more about this lovely masked stranger who had almost sat in his lap

He was all ready to jump in with answers to her questions when her last words caught him off guard.making him stutter then pause. He took a deep breath and adressed her last words first as they seemed the most importaint. " Of course I care, I am very much enjoying your company. So I am glad to know I won't lose it if I don't play or sing."

He paused a moment to let his reassurances sink in as he gave her a gentle lopsided smile then continued. " As for playing I don't anything well, though I have tried a bit. Singing, I can carry a tune and do ok at it, but like you my talents if they can be called that lie elsewhere. I too enjoy the fancy footwork, but Im not sure if you mean modern dance, jazz, hip hop, ballet, or social dance. For me I do social dancing primarily" *Percy made a slight face" My Father is actually the one who pushed me into that, ironically enough, but I enjoy it. So what type of dance do you do?"

An idea was slowly forming in Percy's mind, so slow that he himself didn't realize it yet but it was forming none the less, and his eyes began to sparkle with the thoughts.

Juliette looked delighted to hear Percy's reassurance and this time when her cheeks warmed, they tinted just a shade pink. She took the time during Percy's response to compose herself while listening attentively. She noted the male's face contortion when he mentioned the irony of his father's part in his choice of dance.

"I usually go for ballet," Juliette replied, a small pleasant smile on her lips. "I love the grace of it." Her eyes went wistful as she remembered her first performance as a child. With a small chuckle she came back to the present. "I also know a few social dances." She grimaced before continuing, "Sadly, I can't move my body as need be for most modern steps."

"If you don't mind me asking," Juliette started slowly, "but why is it ironic that your father wanted you to learn social dances?" Juliette hoped she wasn't asking too much of a practical stranger, but she found herself wanting to know more about him and his life. If she was allowed to know, that is.
