Somewhere deep in the woods lays an old and forgotten house. Behind the house a small and abandoned family plot filled with several graves, including one small grave with the carving of a lamb on top. This house has been empty for years, but rumor goes that a child can be heard laughing or playing in or near the house that borders the park. Careful to anyone exploring the grounds at night. There's a steep drop off where, if you don't watch yourself, you could end with a nasty fall below....
Will you come play with the lonely ghost or run away? This is for the mini arc in rescuing Liechtenstein. The home is owned by the doppelganger "Alistair" who has the ability to change his appearance and that of the house. Will you play his games and win, or lose and risk never finding your way home again?

He followed this worn trail, laughing as he went along. Whether the cranky older brother of his best friend and the others followed or not, he knew where he was going and what he'd do once he got there.
After a few minutes of running, Alistair stopped in front of an old house that looked as though it'd been neglected for years. He stopped his running and looked up to the large home, smiling and unafraid of the intimidating structure. To others it may loo scary.
To him, it looked like home.
He gave a small giggle and walked over to the steps of the porch which was falling apart. Like any child would do, he hopped up the stairs until his feet hit the porch before he walked over to the banister and climbed onto it to sit. Maybe those people in the park would follow him home. If they did, then maybe he could have some fun. His bright red eyes dulled down and began changing back to their normal cheerful and inviting green now that he wasn't angry. There was no way those guys would have been able to keep up with him. Even if they'd tried, the one who supposedly was so worried about Miss Lili hadn't even wanted to take on his challenge. He hoped they would. He was in a playful mood, and it would be nice to give Miss Lili a break of playing hide and seek.
Miss Lili is going to be my friend and we'll play together... Forever...Oΰʈ Oƒ Cɦҽҽʂҽ ғoɳɗΰҽ ::________________________________________________________________________________________※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ *

 Georgia =================================================== With some luck, Georgia had somehow managed to keep track of Alistair and to follow him quietly enough so that it seemed the young spirit hadn't noticed him. With even more luck, he managed to keep pretty good pace despite him having to stop every so often after either tripping over something too close to the worn deer path or putting up another of the few chem lights he had so as to mark the path for everyone to follow. Now....
Now he was alone and not far from Alistair.
He watched as Alistair went through some sort of ritual of going up the stairs and walking to the porch where he then sat himself on the banister like he was waiting on someone. Was he? Perhaps. This guy knew everyone who he'd seen in the park wanted Lichtenstein back. Maybe he knew his running off would make them want to go along with his whims. Smart kid. This was a tactic some of his younger siblings used to use on him, and he knew it worked since even after all this time he had still followed the one he was wanting to keep his eye on.
Well, seemed as though things were safe and Alistair wasn't about to go anywhere. Christian began to survey the area as best as he could considering the density of the woods and the darkness of the night. He could make out what looked like head stones. Enough trips to Oakland Cemetery among other final resting places taught him some of the different things to look for. Oh, he was so tempted to go over an explore it, but he knew he might get seen if he did! Still, a part of him did take notice of one head stone... It was shorter than the rest and appeared to have some small statue carved on top. Hmm... He took a look to Alistair and then a look back to the tombstone as he wondered if maybe Lili had noticed it too when she first got here... Out. Of. Chocolate. Cake. ::

Landon couldn’t quite keep a short cry from escaping his lips as he was abruptly shoved down into the dirt. “Hey--!” he hissed, trying as best he could to stifle the noise before Alistair noticed. Fortunately, it seemed that the little spirit wasn’t paying attention to them at all as he bounded past them and deeper into the woods. The Californian shivered slightly as the doppelganger’s chilly form passed by him, for he never had acclimatized to the cold as well as his Eastern siblings had.
The Westerner stood just in time to see Georgia handing him some long tubelike objects. He thought he vaguely recognized them… Landon squinted at them as he tried to guess their identity, but was spared from the trouble by Christian’s calling them chem-lights. He nodded in comprehension at the directions his brother gave him and shook Georgia’s hand when it was offered to him, mentally relieved that the Southerner seemed to have forgiven him his recent errors. Actually, this whole mission was sort of a redemption time, if he took it as such. Landon watched as Christian took off and then left a minute after him, running at a slower pace to set up his lights in between his brother’s. As his nighttime eyesight was slightly better than Georgia’s due to his extensive nightlife, Landon didn’t trip over anything as he went.
… Eventually, Landon found his brother standing in the woods surveying the area they now found themselves in. Landon slowed down as he approached and also looked around. It seemed that they had reached a sort of clearing, and dominating that clearing was the most decrepit old house California had ever seen. Everything about it was falling apart. The porch, the door, the stirs… Landon imagined he could blow on the scrap heap and knock it over.
In front of the house, the Westerner could see Alistair sitting as if waiting for someone. Time dragged on as Christian surveyed the area and Landon switched his gaze from the trees and path to the ghost. After two tense minutes, California decided he couldn’t take it much longer. “What’s taking them all so long?” he whispered to Georgia, playing with his gun impatiently. “This is so boring! If they take too long, I swear; I’m gonna walk right out and introduce myself to that ghost kid. I’m not too bad with kids, and I had wanted to get some fun out of this, anyway…”

Switzerland Vash Zwingli Having been caught in some undergrowth, it had taken Vash longer than he'd have liked to pursue his sister's 'kidnapper'. Eventually he found himself in front of a old neglected looking house. Panting he noticed several graves dotted here and there, one in particular standing out due to a statue of a lamb on top. Gun in hand he slowly realised what this whole thing meant; if he wanted Lili back, he had no choice but to play this dopplegangers 'games'. Looking around he searched for other people, and with a sigh of anxious, cautious relief, he spotted a familiar bushy browed nation and walked over to him, "Looks like we have no choice but to 'play'..." There was an angry dangerous aura around Vash now. Why that little brat sure had some nerve!

The baby was forced to accept that Arthur was going to carry him and, worst of all, he might need the nation's help if he wanted to play with so many "big kids" and "grown ups." However, unlike the others, baby Andrew wasn't interested in strategy and in his childish mind this really was a fun visit rather than a rescue mission. As the others regrouped and one-by-one seemed to recognize there was no choice except to play along, the tiny Tennessean climbed down from Arthur and scampered straight for Alistair without hesitating for a moment as he clutched one of the moonpies from earlier. The baby tottered out of the foliage with his own snack still half eaten and held in his mouth while his hands were busy with the little offering of solidarity. He placed the moonpie on one of the stairs before finally taking his out of his mouth so he could speak. "You fo'got Miss Wiwi's moonpie," he explained as if that was the main purpose of following his friend. Andrew then mounted the stairs and plopped himself down on the top step, snuggled Germany's coat around himself and returned his attention back to nibbling on the rest of his snack. The rest of the world could wait until snack-time was over as far as the little glutton was concerned. Eventually he looked up with his face covered in crumbs and asked politely, "Dis house bewong to ya?" He looked up at the building and evaluated it with a critical eye before submitting his opinion on it. "Woof needs new shingwes," he pointed out calmly as if that was its major issue even though the porch looked like it might cripple beneath the children at any moment. Eventually his eyes darted out towards the woods and the wild frontier child listened to the faint sounds or--in some of the more experienced tracker's cases--lack of sounds to determine whether or not the others were close. Germany Georgia =================================================== Germany took off after the rest of the group. He took note of the small glowing lights on the trees that seemed to show a clear path. No way Alistair had set them up. So who did? He he reached a small gathering of people, he saw two that had not been standing in the group gathered in the park.
California and Georgia.
Ah. That was actually rather smart thinking. The two of them had probably been hiding in the woods and followed the doppelganger as he took off. That was pretty lucky for those like Ludwig who were having a hard time keeping up for various reasons. He had to really work hard to fight back the cough trying to push its way out and ruin where they were hiding.
Georgia looked over his shoulder as others arrived and smiled faintly, especially seeing Andrew being carried on Arthur's shoulder. Ah! no time for that! He opened his mouth to say something to those who were here when Andrew jumped down and ran right up to Alistair. The blond state's mouth just hung open before he pointed at his brother and looked to the others.
"Well, go on. Get! You guys hurry up and see what this game is Alistair's wanting you to play. I'll stay out here. Something seems off, so I'm going to look around for any information I can find on this guy..." His cyan eyes fell back on the small family plot in front of the house and hr frowned gently. "Especially there.... Seeing graves tend to... Peak my interest in stuff like this."
Germany frowned lightly at the state. "Honestly Georgia? Now you vant to go exploring a small cemetery? Can't it vai--" "The lamb." Georgia turned to those still there and quietly gave a quick lesson. "Tombstones tend to have different symbols and statues carved onto them meaning something of importance-- usually related to religion or to reincarnation and rebirth. That said, the symbol of the lamb is usually used on a child or baby's grave as a symbol of an innocent life lost lost. If Alistair really is a child, then the lamb is his tombstone and I can at least learn a name and, with any luck, how he died. If not, maybe there's a hint nearby I can find. It might come in handy with helping him pass through so we don't to deal with this again. You find Lili. I'll find how to put Alistair to rest. Oh, by the way, Landon's going with you guys. have fun and get inside as soon as possible so I can conduct my outdoor research."
Germany was quiet and held a look of surprise on how knowledgeable the state seemed to be in this field. He looked to England, not sure if he should be thankful for him perhaps influencing Georgia's rather odd obsession with all things pertaining to the dead to his former father. Either way, seemed it was paying off.
Ludwig stood and walked out of the brush and towards the house-- and where Alistair and Andrew were. "Ah, zhere you two are." He coughed into his arm, glad he no longer had to suppress the discomfort. He stopped at the porch and looked to the steps warily. How old was this wood? Would it even support his weight? It was a miracle this place didn't fall in on itself any minute with all of the repair work that needed to be done. Such a shame, too. It looked like it had once been a beautiful looking house. He looked to Alistair and gave his best "friendly smile" as he could. "Ah, I zhink zhe ozhers vere behind me. In zhe mean time, ist zhis vhere Lili is? If so, vhat games are ve needing to play before ve can have her back." Out. Of. Chocolate. Cake. :: ((Shoot. I got so used to military lingo that I forgot that the civilian term for chem lights are Glow Sticks. I should have put that Georgia was putting up Glow Sticks so that it'd make more sense. Oh well.

"Andrew~! I knew you would come~! We both promised you, Miss Lili, and I could play together when you were better~!" He watched his friend come up to him and leaned down to accept the moonpie. He forgot to get Lili's treat? Oh no! He let himself get so mad at that bully of a brother of her's that he nearly forgot! Still, a part of him blushed and looked up with a pout, feeling bad now. Not only had he not gotten her a treat, but he also forgot to get two of those fizzy drinks for her and himself. He had always wanted to try one, just once....
He looked to Andrew and smiled, still blushing a little in embarrassment. "Thank you, Andrew! I would have felt really bad if I had one of these treats and didn't give one to Lili. I think she would have gotten sad, too. I've never heard her talk about them, so maybe she's never tried one either." At the mention of the house, Alistair nodded his head and looked to Andrew curiously. For someone so small, the child seemed to be looking over his house pretty hard. It made him curious as it if something was wrong with it. Oh, the shingles? Alistair leaned forward from his perch on the porch banister and craned his neck for a better look at the roof. "Does it? I can't tell. Daddy used to take good care of the house, but then he and momma went to sleep one day and never woke up. Some people took them away and then brought back these funny looking boxes a week later...." He pointed his finger over to the little family plot, frowning slightly.
"They dug at the ground for an awful long time and then a bunch of men lowered both of the boxes in and a bunch of people stood around crying and talking about them. They then covered the boxes with dirt and left. No one's been here since then." He lowered his hand and frowned as though to this day it still confused him why they did that. He swung himself off the banister and walked over so he could sit next to Andrew. "Momma said you shouldn't play over there. She told me that all the time! She said that that's where our old family who's not with us any more is sleeping and that playing there is disre... Disrespectful... So I don't know why so many people had been over there digging and stuff. I tried to tell them to stop it, but no one listened to me..." He huffed and crossed his arms with a pout, not seeing why so many people ignored him so much... It wasn't like anything he said was dumb. He was just straightforward and blunt. His father always said that was a good trait and that he could be a lawyer when he grew up, whatever those were.
He heard someone else come and saw it was that Ludwig guy that Andrew had introduced. The one who used to be friends with bad people and then Andrew beat him up and he was nice now. Well, he did seem nice. Even now he was being pretty nice. So more were coming? Alistair sat up and grinned happily, wondering who else it could be. "Really~? Yay~! I was afraid my first game was too hard for you~!" He giggled happily, glad that his game of chase seemed successful since two people found him, and others would too. He smiled happily and help up two fingers. "Two more games and, if you win, I promise to give Miss Lili back~! The first is hide-and-seek! I don't want anyone getting hurt since we're really close to a drop-off, and momma always warned me not to play there at night, so we'll play it in the house~! It might not look too pretty out here, but I can make it really pretty inside the house~! Oh! Next is a game of memory! I don't want to spoil any surprises, but if you want to get Miss Lili back, I hope you know what she looks like." How wonderful. Alistair placed a finger on his lip and "looked up in thought" with a small, childish hum. He then nodded before grinning and tilted his head to the side. "Since you asked so nicely, I'll tell you~! Tell you what-- I'll even make it so that the game of hide-and-seek ties into the memory game. Aaaaaaand, to top it off, I'll be super nice and let you guys come back on another day to try and guess right if you do wrong tonight~!"
The young boy stood up and dusted himself off real quick before clasping his hands behind his back and leaning forwards slightly. "Here's how this will work-- now listen real close. I'm going to hide in one of the rooms. You'll know you're in the right room when you see me in the center of a circle of four mirrors in a white room with nothing else. When you find me, I'll give you ten minutes to look into each mirror. In each mirror, you'll see Miss Lili. Here's where it becomes a memory game~! You have to remember what she was wearing on this day two weeks ago when we met and came to live with me~! If you can remember correctly and choose the right Miss Lili, you'll walk through the mirror and into her room! If you choose the wrong mirror though..." He pointed to the front door behind him and smiled.
"Then you guys will walk out that door and you have to wait until tomorrow night to try again. If you do fail once and you come back, there'll be an extra mirror added until you guess right, so I really hope you get it right first try~!" He giggled lightly and stepped backwards towards the door, he opened it once to look in to what looked like complete darkness. He closed it slightly to the small group outside of his house and giggled lightly before sticking his tongue out. "Now close your eyes, count to ten, and no peaking~!" He opened the door wide, and the inside was almost an exact replica of the Swiss and Liechtensteiner's home in the mountains during day light instead of a dark and abandoned home that had been neglected for years. Germany Georgia =================================================== Georgia accepted the talisman and immediately pulled out his dogtags to try and find a way to weave it into the one of the loops holding the actual tags so that, when he tucked his dogtags away, the talisman would be right above hiss heart... Or at least close enough to it. You never knew. He then watched everyone in his spot from the bushes and pulled his cellphone out to send a quick text to Florida reading, "Might do an exorcism tonight. Sorry. Re-plan dinner for tomorrow, promise! I owe you something nice for the stand up, don't I?"
Germany watched as Alistair disappeared into-- was that Vash's house? wait, no.... It had been different when Alistair first opened the door. Maybe he had altered the way it looked for Lichtenstein's sake. Now, he knew he was supposed to "count to ten and don't peak," but his eyes did not close and after counting to three he marched up the porch, looking nervous with each step. He opened the door and, sure enough, the house looked nice and elegant and like it did not belong to the decrepit exterior. He looked behind him to the rest in time to see Georgia already out of the woods and almost to the grave he seemed to be staring down, trying to read what was on the old tombstone as he walked despite the fact it was rather dark outside.
Ludwig then turned and walked inside, looking around for any sign of where the little kid could have gone to. He'd already described what the room would look like, so it was just be a matter of finding it, right? But what then they'd then only have 10 minutes to remember what Lichtenstein last wore, and the last thing he saw her in was her blue dress and heels from when he introduced Vietnam to the family... That couldn't have been the outfit she and Alistair met in since he remembered walking Lili to her dorm personally before dropping Thien off at her own dorm before going to bed after an exhausting night with the family....
-------------------------------------------
Georgia held his cell phone up and took a picture of the tombstone with the lamb carving on top. Sure enough, the name Alistair was in fact carved into the stone and it looked like he was only 6 when he died over a hundred years ago. What a shame.... He squinted harder at his picture to see if there was anything to describe what could have happened. disease and ailments were possible, but he almost felt like that didn't describe how this child acted... He'd met ghost belonging to children that died from illness, and they weren't quite like Alistair.
He stood up and quickly walked around the back of the house, using years of practice from the army to duck below windows just in case someone might be looking outside the window. He looked up at some point and wasn't paying attention just long enough to realize one of his feet had nothing below it and was falling. Instinct kicked in and he somehow grabbed a tree root to keep from falling. Looking down, he would have survived the fall, but not many normal people would have.... He gave a small, thoughtful sound and pulled himself up and made an effort to stay a little closer to the house until he was sure he was far enough from that drop off to be safe... Out. Of. Chocolate. Cake. :: ((I have a feeling that even with me cutting out so much of my original plan we might not even make it to the "mirror room". There are 3 rules in this school 1. Don't run in halls 2. Get along with everyone 3. Survival of the fittest Arthur Kirkland Student Vice President Member of the Disciplinary Committee The Junior Gentleman Hide and and memory? Sounded quite and interesting game. Arthur just hoped that they would able to solve it quickly without any problem. He listened to the boy's words carefully. So they needed to find the room and match the correct mirror to the outfit Lili was wearing 2 weeks ago? Blast... with everything that had been happening on campus how was he to remember what she wore? Better yet, what happened during that week.... It had to of been a bit before the Thunderbird incident... With a brief sigh, the Englishman followed the rules and closed his eyes long enough to start searching. He didn't particularly wait for the others and went straight off to find the room that had be described. The transforming trick hadn't been much of surprise him however he wasn't too familiar with the home that now appeared lively and well kept compared to the rickety one just before, and it would of been nice to study details of the interior if only they had the time. A white room with four mirrors. He reminded himself as he opened one door and quickly shutting it. "I'll search the upper floor." he called out to the rest of the group and dashed off. This wasn't looking too good. England had the habit of loosing things so in one perspective you would think that the brit would be the king of finding what's been lost... Sigh, now if I were to hide somewhere, where would I be... some place least expected obviously. He paced down to last few doors down the corridor. "Hm..." "England over here!" Ms. Fairy called out pointing to a door. He had all but forgotten the fairy was with him for she had been keeping quiet until now. "Here?" he asked to ensure the door was correct. Indeed the fairy nodded. "Yes." Well who was he to doubt the direction of his little friend. Arthur gripped the handle firmly and opened it. The whitest of the room was so bright it was practically blinding, enough to make one go mad if one stayed in there for too long. gaia_crown Alistair gaia_crown ❁ The Shape-Shifting Doppelganger ❁※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ________________________________________________________________________________________The young doppelganger blinked in surprise as someone opened the door to the room he was in. Already? Huh. Maybe it should have been a little more challenging.... Well, nothing he could dwell on. He smiled in a friendly manner and giggled lightly with his eyes shut and his head tilted slightly. "You found me, Mister Arthur~!" Alistair stood from where he had seated himself between the four mirrors, all of which faced one another in this room which seemed to have no walls, ceiling, or floor.
The young boy stretched lightly as the rest of the house outside this particular room went back to the normal "doom and gloom" that fit an old house that had been left unkempt for so long. However, the room and the room that seemed to be reflected in all four of the mirrors still remained to not fit in with the rest of the house. "Alright Mister Arthur, secret rule~! Secret rule~!" He clasped his hands behind his back and opened his green eyes to look at the man standing across from him. "Since you found this room so quickly, and I don't see or hear anyone else around, you get an extra five minutes-- or however long it takes Ludwig and Andrew to get here-- to look at the four mirrors and try to remember what Miss Lili looks like." He opened his arms to gesture for Arthur to walk over and look at which four options the Brit had in trying to identify the missing girl.
All four rooms looked the same-- and if Vash were here, he could easily point out that this looked like Lili's room back home. Then again, the floor between the four mirrors seemed to have quite a few sketches showing different things seen around so far, including how the house had looked when Alistair changed it to make it nicer for everyone and a drawing of what Alistair looked now, all signed by Liechtenstein. The rooms themselves seemed to show it was night time, but Lili had a few lamps turned on in the room in order to make it light enough for her to see the stuffed toy she was sewing, and all four scenes showed exactly the same thing save for one difference... what Liechtenstein was wearing.
In the first mirror, Lichtenstein appeared to be wearing her favorite red dressed that Vash had gotten for her and her hair was its normal short length. In the second mirror, she appeared to be wearing her school uniform, again, her hair still being short. In the third mirror, she was wearing the dress that Alistair had "worn" earlier in the park (and what others had seen her wear at the multicultural festival) and her hair was long and braided into a pair of pigtails that hug over her shoulders and rested on her chest. The last was her once more wearing a school uniform. This one, however.... Seemed a little off. It wasn't a female's uniform, but a male uniform that seemed to be a little too big for her frame. Who knows why she would be wearing a man's uniform, especially considering how self-conscious she already was about people mistaking her for a boy, but Alistair had to have his reasons in showing her like that.
Alistair stood off to the side, quiet and patiently waiting for Arthur to say something or for someone else to come in and for the game to start if England didn't choose to answer this puzzle now....Oΰʈ Oƒ Cɦҽҽʂҽ ғoɳɗΰҽ ::________________________________________________________________________________________※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ * ※ *

There are 3 rules in this school 1. Don't run in halls 2. Get along with everyone 3. Survival of the fittest Arthur Kirkland Student Vice President Member of the Disciplinary Committee The Junior Gentleman Arthur smiled politely. "Ah thank you, but I can't talk all the credit. Ms. Fairy, too a friend of Miss Lili." At least they were given extra time. Hopefully the others would reach soon enough to solve the riddle. "Do you know how fairies are born? It is of a child's first laugh." he humored just before walking up to the center of the mirrors to study each one. It had been quite some time since the last time he saw the nation that at first he didn't have a clue as to what she last wore. The Englishman didn't see the girl at the cultural festival, he remembered something about Alistair had gone in her place, but last he knew she didn't have pigtails, so that ruled out one mirror. The school girl outfit seemed highly likely and so did the pajamas although he wasn't sure who would of seen her in the clothing since her roommates were Rodrich and Gilbert... But the last one, the Brit recognized for she was wearing his clothing! Wait a second... Although England didn't see her that day, she had called him up to ask to borrow his clothes because of suddenly being turned into a male.... could it be? (Out of Tea: I'll go ahead and end if nothing else before you go to sleep. I tend to be awake till 4 am. ) British >> American: I have rules in my territories: *Follow my orders *Call me -sama *Don't complain about my food
