The first thing you notice about the booth is...that it isn't really a booth. There's a booth in front of it, sure, all done up in grey and black, manned by a certain substitute teacher you may or may not recognise. There's a handful of minipets in front of him.
But the booth is not the attraction here. No, there is a path behind this booth that leads to a certain forbidden area made specially available for this event.
A certain forest.
X beckons for you to come closer with a pale, claw-like finger. You think he's smiling, but there's not enough definition on his face for you to be sure.
"I require your assistance, dear student." He gestures to the forest behind him. "It appears that I've lost my notes in the forest. I need you to help find them...and then you'll deliver them for me, won't you?"
He hums to himself. You think it's a funeral dirge. "You can come help meonce a day, if you so desire. Any more than that, though, and you might reach an unfortunate fate."
Ask him if he wants his 20 Silver Pumpkin Seeds instead.
He gives you a blank look (moreso than usual), and blithely says that it won't get him his work back.
Ask him what's in it for you.
"What's in it for you?" he repeats, sounding clearly amused by your question. "My undying love and adoration, of course."
(He sounds serious.)
For a moment, you awkwardly stare at each other. He then sighs, long-suffering, and gestures to a selection of minipets in front of him. "You might be so lucky to find something nice along the way."
What if we don't want to help?
"Then by all means," X replies dryly, "don't. I suppose I could use the company."
A tentacle appears behind him, and it reaches out to stroke your cheek. Gently.

Claiming Your Prize
X peers at you. "Know that you may only receive each prize once. Now, what did you find me?"
If you found a NOTE:
Congratulations, you get an Oreo Truffle!
X eyes you. "It appears you have found one of my masterpieces. Congratulations on your success, and your survival. Now, you must deliver it."
He rests his chin on his hands before pointing off towards the other booths. "Take the note to Selene. Cone back to me when you've done this, and you shall receive your reward."
The OoC
On each note is a few lines of terrible romantic poetry or prose. You may make it up or leave it vague.
To redeem your prize, your character must:
- ICly track down the teacher Selene, played by Nio Love. - Do this on their own: no giving their notes to others. Consider the notes Bind-On-Pickup. - Somehow get Selene to accept the note. This might entail: reading it aloud, hiding it on her person, stalking her endlessly until she accepts, lie and say it's from someone else and running, etc. Feel free to get creative. - Be aware that Selene will be in a DIFFERENT THREAD! Go find her! - Do this any time after acquiring the note. If you get one on the first day, and don't find her till the last day: that's okay! - Fill out the below form once you've done that.

If you found a MYSTERIOUS AMULET:
Congratulations, you get a Broken Heart BonBon!
X snatches the amulet from you, his clawed hands subtly shaking. "This was not yours to take," he hisses sourly, embittered, suddenly looming over you with his full height. "Take a prize and be gone from my presence."
Sweet Jack. What was all that about?
The OoC
To redeem your prize, your character must:
- Avoid asking about that. Unless, you know. That amulet was familiar to you...? But that won't apply to anyone of Halloween, of course. - Fill out the below form.

If you found a VIAL OF SHADOWS:
Congratulations, you get a Shadows BonBon!
The Slenderman stretches out a hand. "I'm afraid those are still being tested and are unfit for consumption. Try back in a few weeks, when my class is ready..."
The OoC
To redeem your prize, your character must:
- Give the vial back. If they keep it, there are no special effects at this time, sorry! - Fill out the below form.
No matter what time of day you decide to help X, the path before you is a dark one: the forest looks pitch black from his booth, a darkness at the end of the gravel road. Even though the walk is a short one, the din of the other booths and the merrymaking of students almost immediately fades to a complete and utter silence.
You step into the forest, and immediately feel something watching you, a pair of eyes burning a hole into the back of your neck. You just can't seem to shake the feeling, no matter what you do.
Look around.
There's nothing there, but you hear something, perhaps the whistling of trees? Except...It sounds like your name.
Ask who's there.
Your voice falls flat: there is no echo.
There's no response.
The shadows seem to move on their own, here, in this bramble-ridden forest. How odd it is, though: the path behind you has disappeared. Any attempts to return to the booths is unsuccessful: you're here for a reason, you suppose. Perhaps you should attend to it.
The Forest
As X warned you, you can only
SAFELY attempt to help him once a day! Of course, you can ignore that, if you want. Just. You know. Be prepared for what you might meet.
TL;DR: Go to the next post for the game.

Note-Hunting
You're looking for pages, but the Slenderman failed to clarify what was on them, or even where they might be found. You are flying blind, it seems, except for the path ahead of you. It splits, though, into two options.
PART ONE: The Forked Path
To one side, there is a cave entrance, completely dark. It has a steep incline, so it may not be the safest route. To the other side is a glade, and the leaves are green and bright and something that smells sweet wafts towards you.
The OoC
If you choose the cave, go to PART TWO: Brightcove Below. If you choose the glade, go to PART THREE: The Bells.
If you have tried to help X once or more times today, you MUST go to PART TWO: The Bells.
PART TWO: Brightcove Below
As soon as you step inside, bio-luminescent lights flare to life all around you. The path down curls into a spiral staircase. The further you go, the brighter it gets, until the neon-lights around you are overwhelming-- and it gets colder and colder and colder.
A hissing starts, and the stairwell collapses. The light is so bright it overwhelms your vision until you see nothing but dancing spots. Closing your eyes does little to alleviate the pulsating lights.
The hissing grows.
The OoC
Roll 1d100!
If you have tried to help X once or more times today, you MUST subtract 10 from your roll. If that would make your roll negative, assume that is a 1.
1-15: You trip and fall, and fall prey to the creature, whatever it is-- GAME OVER. You tried! You wake up behind X's booth after 2 OOC hours.
16-45: You run, and even if you hit the walls and trip a few times, you manage to make it out of the cave. Except...you emerge nowhere near your beginning. Proceed to PART THREE: The Bells below.
46-80: The beast snaps at your ankles, following along you with footsteps as loud as the fiercest thunder. You're cornered, trapped against a wall, and-- the ground gives out beneath you. Move on to PART FOUR: Bone Hollow of Hollow Bones below.
81-85: You outrun the creature, but just barely. You scramble out of the cave through a small hole, and your hand catches on a piece of paper as you emerge from the ground. It seems you've found a NOTE, and are back...near X's booth. How curious. Go to the CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE post up above!
86-100: The hissing changes, raising in pitch until it's the scream of a siren, a hundred of them, a thousand of them-- the ground crumbles beneath you, and water rushes up around you, but it's too heavy to be water alone, and it drags you down, down, down down-- GAME OVER. You tried! You wake up behind X's booth after 2 OOC hours.
PART THREE: The Bells
Clever thing, you think you are, for going the glade? The glade smells so sweet, it does. The vegetation is greener than a Nergal's eye, and there are so many flowers in bloom. You see a few small animals rustling around in the distant underbrush, but you pay them no mind.
There is a large tree in the middle of the glade, where the sweet smell seems to be coming from. The sky above is blotted out by the canopy-- interesting, there seem to be vines hanging down...everywhere. They're wrapped around trees, plants, and are underfoot.
On every vine is a bell, made of something sharp and beautiful like glass.
The OoC
If you have tried to help X once or more times today, you MUST "Investigate the TREE".
Investigate the VINES.
Unbidden, they curl around your fingers, your legs, your hands. They tighten around your form, unrelenting. Bells start tolling.
The OoC
Roll 1d10! Even: The bells grow to a cacophonous roar, and the vines squeeze and squeeze and --
GAME OVER. You tried! You wake up behind X's booth after 2 OOC hours.
Odd: You escape! The haunting music stops and the vines release you, and in front of you is...how interesting. A MYSTERIOUS AMULET. You pocket it and decide you've had quite enough fun out here, and leave the forest. Take it to CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE post above!
Investigate the BELLS THEMSELVES.
Nothing of interest happens, except you notice that this is where the sweet smell is coming from. You may pluck a bell from its vine, if you like, but their smell immediately sours to that of death. Maybe worse. If you're undead, you might like it very much. Otherwise...maybe just...leave it there.
Investigate the TREE.
As you grow closer, the sweet bell-chimes grow ugly, and the vines spring to life. Like a creature living and enraged, the tree whips into movement. It grabs you by the midsection, and it flings you with full force towards the ground. The music is repetitive, nearly hypnotic, and the tree splits around its middle, grinning with a mouth made of splintered bark.
Beetles and other insects spill out, each one more deformed than the last.
It strikes you, then, that the tree is hungry.
The OoC
Roll 1d100!
If you have tried to help X once or more times today, you MUST subtract 10 from your roll. If that would make your roll negative, assume that is a 1.
1-25: The tentacle-esque vines fling you into the air, but their grip slips. You fly off into the sky a la Team Rocket-- GAME OVER. You tried! You wake up behind X's booth after 2 OOC hours.
26-45: A four-legged creature made of flame and lava jumps down from the trees, screaming in a tongue incomprehensible to you. The vines fly backwards as the fire around you spreads. The creature frees you, taking care to not touch you (unless you are also made of flame: if that's the case, then it nuzzles you). The patch of ground beneath you has burnt away, revealing a VIAL OF SHADOWS buried there. The minipet leads you to the edge of the forest, singing everything it touches. Go to the CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE post up above!
46-70: The vines pulsate, sapping at your fear. All looks grim until a familiar Slenderman appears, speaking to it with...a bandoleer of bells himself. A lesser known talent, apparently. He grabs you by the arm, shaking his head. Can't trust anyone to do anything, he mutters to himself. He hands you a NOTE with a roll of his non-existent eyes. Take it, and your shame, to the CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE post up above. So much shame.
71-90: A cry sounds off in the distance, dissonant and growing closer. A creature rises from what may have been The Brightcove, tears of bubbling pitch stream down its face. Its dark work begins when it opens one of its six mouths, singing the song that ends the Earth. In the meanwhile, you scream (or panic, or flail, or exit the grounds quietly) all the way to PART FOUR: Bone Hollow of Hollow Bones.
95-100: The creature lifts you, bringing you closer to its gaping, wooden maw, and-- your hand shoots out to grab a NOTE off of one of its teeth. With renewed vigour at the prospect of minipets, you run all the way back to the CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE post above.
PART FOUR: Bone Hollow of Hollow Bones
You wake up somewhere that's completely sickly violets and noxious greens. Everything is covered in...some liquid that's quite viscous and sticky. Yuck. No amount of wiping it off on your clothes will get the residue quite off.
At first, you think the trees look a bit odd, as do the bushes-- but then you realise. The ground is flesh, and each plant is actually some sort of bone. The ground pulsates like a wheezing lung, raising and lowering beneath your feet.
A little ways away, you see a sleeping...something. Maybe you should be quiet.
Investigate the BONES.
Why would you do that.
Because.
Each bone is a little brittle, and if handled too roughly, they snap and fracture. Inside is a bit of marrow, but mostly they're...hollow. A soft whistling comes from somewhere in the ground, deep beneath the surface.
The branches have what appear to be leaves at first glance, but are actually thin, permeable membranes that flutter with no rhyme or reason.
The OoC
Roll 1d10! Even: Huh, what's this? How did a NOTE get wedged down in there-- okay, no. You don't want to know. Just...go to the CLAIMING YOUR PRIZE post above. Just...go.
Odd: You don't find anything, except a disembodied hand that crawls out from a hollow bone. It runs away very fast, off into the distance. Huh.
Investigate the SLEEPING BEAST.
It sits up on its haunches-- a six legged monster, whose body is segmented into pieces not quite held together. Its face is simply a mirror-- nothing more, nothing less. The air around you is wavery, hazy as if from a dream.
It advances upon you. The monster flicks its tail and is unresponsive to any attempts to communicate or fight it, simply flickering out of existence if someone attempts to land a blow. Eventually, it grows bored and roots you to the ground.
It speaks, and its voice sounds like glass shards scraping against each other.
"A youngling has come to see me, in my den of forgotten bones?" It crows a sharp bark of laughter, startling a number of Corrividi from the strange not-quite-trees. "It had a place for me, once: I had carved it out with my teeth, tore it asunder with the force of my claws, and used all the power in the world to look into the hearts of sentient beings such as you."
If you are a hunter in a golem:
"I know what you are, for you don the flesh of a wolf to disguise that you are a lamb. And oh, how your kind is nothing but lambs. Short lives and shorter tempers." It smiles, the mirror cracking and shifting to form the shape. "I am that which guides you, when you have such an insurmountable task ahead of you."
If you are a horseman:
"Your kind is old, but I am older, you see. Look how far the mighty have fallen." It tsks, swaying its mirror-head back and forth. "You walk a path rife with blood and fear and death and sickness: how beautifully ironic it is that you do not realise that you are the plague." It tilts its head. "I was your downfall, more than any human power."
If you are a student:
The creature crosses its paws, settling into the ground."Your future is a bright one, but it is not without its troubles, without its hopelessness, without its pains. Fear is the essence of our life: do not forget. It is vital, both the power of it...and its source." Its tail taps your chest, right in the center. "I am the piece of you that thinks you can continue on without humans. That thinks you can make amends with an entire race. That thinks you can carry on, no matter what, as if nothing has changed in recent times."
"You may go free, if you can guess what I am."
The OoC
PM your guess to ASTRABOT. If you are correct, you may go free and the beast will grant you any item so that you may receive prize you wish.
If you are incorrect, the creature devours you-- GAME OVER. You tried! You wake up behind X's booth after 2 OOC hours. It was just a dream, right...?
Have you seen this Professor? She doesn't seem to have her own booth, and for some odd, completely unrelated-to-this-booth reason, she doesn't seem to be able to stand still for long.
If you see her, take a minute to say hello. Any interaction with Selene (including, but not exclusive to note giving from X's game!) will enter your character in a daily raffle. Depending on how many people find her in a day, she will give out any number of Honey Coconut Truffles!
And one special winner a day will receive a special pet, if they're especially nice. How special.
You can only win one of each pet! There is no form to fill out. Just find her, talk to her, get her attention in any way, once a day, and you're entered! If you reply to her after she's exited a thread, it will not count, so keep your eyes peeled! She doesn't want to stay in one place for too long.
Just in case.

Sibyl had been on her way to meet up with Gabriel somewhere in the festival, she'd been a good ghoul and dressed up for it and everything, but...but she was stopped by the booth of the tall, tall man begging her attention. He needed her help? Oh no! That was important!
She approached the booth, not paying any mind to anyone except the tall man. When asked what would happen if she helped him and told she would get his undying love and adoration, he had her caught hook, line and sinker. "REALLY? REALLY REALLY?"
X peered down at the ghoul, whose bright eyes and shining glee threw him off guard. Just a little. She was the first to edge towards his booth, obliviously throwing herself into the darkness.
He regarded her with an iota of incredulity before formulating a reply.
"I promise," X said, absolutely solemn. "I can prove it, if you so desire. I am a demon of my word, let no one tell you otherwise."
Not that anyone would, of course. X thought himself to be a finely regarded individual, who just happened to be spurned by his romantic interests, since they didn't appreciate finding him beneath their beds.
Peasants.
"What is your name, little ghoul?"
Eight

The ghoul sparkled--well, the pearls in her hair reflected the light from the rest of the festival shining on them--when the man promised he really was telling the truth. She shook her head, a huge grin on her face. "No, no! I believe you! I do!" She would. Sibyl just wanted to love everyone, just like she wanted to be loved by everyone.
"I'm Sibyl! It's nice to meet you~! What's your name?"
Millie stood at the edge of the forest. Surely these teachers wouldn't be asking them to do anything dangerous would they? How hard would it be to retrieve a few notes? Nope that couldn't be it! Millie thought to herself and skipped straight into the forest without a second thought.
It got dark pretty quick and even though Millie tried to back track to find her way, she couldn't seem to find the way back. "Was I not going straight?"
This seemed to be a fitting test for a shadow demon though. He would surely be at home here, so why should Millie feel any uncertainty or anything that might seem clearly wrong. Or so she told herself.
Approaching a fork, Millie was unsure what to do. The glade seemed easiest. Millie was not eager to crawl up an incline and into a dark cave. Especially when the glade smelled so nice...
Admiring the flowers, Millie found herself in front of a large tree covered in vines. The bells were pretty, but they didn't look edible. Picking one, hoping to take one back with her, the smell immediately soured. Maybe taking one back was not such a good idea after all... Millie dropped it on the ground, covering her nose with her sleeve and moving to the far side of the tree.
Or trying to... the vines seemed to be coiling around her feet, making it impossible to go the the other side of the tree...
As the vines crept further up, grabbing her arms and pining them to her side, Millie silently cursed herself for not summoning Esu earlier. Why would you wander around a forest with your weapon away? As the bells started tolling, Millie felt the real danger she had put herself in. Would the vines squeeze her to death?
For some strange reason, the music stopped just as it had started and the vines retreated one by one. Picking up the small amulet, Millie hurried out of the forest as quickly as she could. It wasn't a note, but maybe the professor would find some use for it.

Sibyl was here.
This was a creepy looking area, not even a booth really. It led into some forest that Gabriel instinctively wanted to keep out of at any cost. But, he'd seen Sibyl talking to the strange man who ran the place, and she was his destination. So he tugged on the leash of the creature he had been lugging around everywhere, and then made sure it was behind his legs, before standing nearby.
.. But she was having a conversation. He didn't feel like it was important enough to interrupt it, so instead, Gabby just waited. He adjusted the stupid tie that was wrapped around his stupid neck, wincing in discomfort. People dressed nicely for days like this, didn't they? Wasn't it normal? Why did he feel like he'd just over-compensated for not knowing what he was supposed to be doing here in the first place?
After some more wandering, Tseng soon came upon a certain booth that lead to a very peculiar forest. It intrigued him. Wandering on closer, he paused as one of the faculty members, the one manning this station, mentioned that he had lost a number of notes. There also sounded like there was some sort of danger involved here, considering the slenderman mentioned that he may reach an unfortunate fate should he try more than once a day.
It was of no issue.
"I shall embark upon this quest and fetch these notes for you!"
It shouldn't be too hard. Fetch quests typically are not too difficult. And so, he went on his way into the forest. It didn't take long before he found a fork in the road. Hmmm.
One path lead to a dank and dark cave while the other seemed much more inviting. Tseng decided to descend into darkness. The other path was surely a trap!
Going into the cave, he found that it really wasn't all that dark after all. Little lights came up to help guide him. There was a sort of spiral staircase here, that he went on down. Though the further he went, the brighter the lights became. There was also a sort of hissing noise here. He closed his eyes, trying to block out the intense light, but that hissing noise only continued instead.
Pretty soon though, he felt something snap at his ankles. Tseng jumped and called forth his bow, but he was having trouble seeing anything when this place was blinding him with light. Whatever was in here, it was big, given the thunderous footsteps around him.
"SHOW YOURSELF FOUL BEAST! I SHALL SLAY YOU!" he called out defiantly. Though, just to be safe, he backed up to a wall. That way it couldn't come behind him. But then... the floor gave out from under his feet.
Posted: Fri Feb 15, 2013 11:48 am
When Tseng came around, he was in... a rather unpleasant sort of place. Greens and violets were all over, and everything had some sort of sticky goo covering it. It was also all over his clothing right now too.
"What is this place..?" he asked while looking around. Was this really under that cave he had been in? For that matter, what had happened to the beast? Though, there were trees here. Wait. Those trees and bushes looked rather strange..
"The beast. It must have swallowed me!"
The earth was flesh and there were bones jutting up. The place was also moving. Breathing. The horseman did not like the thought of becoming the meal of some big beast. Though, speaking of beasts, he noticed one not too far off. It was asleep. Slowly, he approached. It soon became clear that it wasn't asleep any longer. It was a strange six legged creature that spoke in a rather unpleasant sort of voice.
The creature spoke down onto him, essentially calling his kind a plague. A scourge.
"How dare you! The horsemen are a great race! We shall stand upon all else!" he said indignantly. But, apparently if he could guess what this creature was correctly, he could get out of this place.

Yo Slendy.
Tseng soon found himself back outside after having dealt with that... strange six legged mirror headed beast. He didn't like what it had said regarding the horsemen. He should have shot an arrow at it! Or something along those lines. The horsemen had tripped a bit yes.. but they were on their way back to glory.
Once he was back out, he approached the figure in charge.
"You there! There were no notes in the forest at all! Nothing but dastardly beasts!"

Mini's SN: Blade kuroda Link to amulet post: n/a - Got the riddle correct
Millie stood at the edge of the forest again. Surely she could find his notes today, right?
Stepping into the dark forest, Millie looked towards the cave.
Not knowing what was in there, Millie decided the glade was still the better option and walked right up to the tree. She knew better than to try picking a bell this time but maybe the tree held secrets?
This time, the bells started growing and... melting at the same time. It looked horrid but when they started making noise, Millie tried to flee, knowing full well that meant the vines... Oh Jack, they already had a hold of her, didn't they? Millie was not quick enough today and screamed as the vines picked her up and slammed her against the ground.
"Ow..." Millie managed as she tried to right herself as best she could while the vines tightened their grip. The tree split open and bugs came rushing out of it's midsection.
A strange four legged creature howled nearby and advanced. Millie got up as soon as she was free from the vines and readied to defend herself.
Except the creature showed no other signs of aggression toward her, but toward the tree.
"Thanks," Millie told the creature as it padded around the area singeing everything it touched. Noticing a SMALL VIAL on the ground, she picked it up and pocketed it. The creature was making happy noises some distance away and clearly it wanted Millie to follow.
She followed the creature back to the exit and bid it goodbye before leaving.
Millie sighed and held the small vial out to the Professor.
"You know, I don't think I'm very good at finding notes." she said to X. "But I hope these trinkets I keep finding are still okay.."

This booth looked...intriguing. Astra approached it cautiously, listening to professor X and his request to find the notes. It sounded simple enough, so she agreed to help him. "Sure, I'll find your notes." She said, her wings humming gently as she flew behind the booth and into the dark forest. It sire was dark and creepy, but she was not phased in the slightest. Having lived in a dark forest all her life she was rather used to how silent a forest could be. However the feeling of something watching her every move, it was something she couldn't shake no matter how well she hid herself in the branches.
After a little while she came to a split pathway. One side had a cave, the other had a sweet looking glade. Though the glade looked nicer, she opted for the Brightcove Below instead. Perhaps the darkness would be her alley this time. With her eyes glowing she entered the cave.
It appeared she would have no darkness due to the flashing neon lights, but at least she could see. Well, thought she could see, as she went deeper into the cave the lights grew so bright she could hardly see. She landed on the ground to rub her eyes, before shrieking when the stairway gave way under her feet. Thankfully she was able to fly away before she got hurt.
However, that didn't help her when she took notice of the ever increasing hissing noise. With a look around her eyes widened fearfully at the..thing that was coming towards her. She couldn't see what it was, but it didn't matter now. She ran, ran as fast as her short legs could take her. The lights everywhere disoriented her and making it difficult to fly. Suddenly a wall came towards her and she was trapped between it and the beast. Not for long, as it suddenly gave way beneath her feet and sent her falling. She wasn't fast enough to fly away this time.
