Kadryn was outside enjoying the warm early spring day. After a cold winter of snow and ice, she really enjoyed warmer afternoons where she could train without getting chilled. This warm afternoon found Kadryn in a large field filled with tall rocks and long golden grass that was just starting to regrow. Her mace rested against one of the rocks, while she was confident she could defeat Ysali's with her bare fists, they weren't the only Dragons on Sirene and the mace was an extra layer of protection against the more dangerous Dragons.
Stretching her lanky frame, Kadryn began to warm up, today she was toughening her body. By using the rocks as her opponents, she would be able to go full out without worrying about hurting a sparring opponent or a tree.
She shook her head as she thought back to the one time she'd tried using trees as targets. Not only did they put splinters in her hands, she had also damaged them too much and they had died during the harsh winter... she really disliked the feeling of knowing that she'd destroyed a tree. Killing Dragons didn't bother her, but destroying trees for practice did... Perhaps because they couldn't fight back and that made Kadryn feel like a jerk. Rocks were much better, tougher too.
Lining up against a rock about her size, she began to punch and kick at her target. Soon she had worked up a sweat, and her hands ached. Instead of stopping, Kadryn began to jump and leap from rock to rock, attacking each one several times before moving on to a different rock. Sometimes she pretended to sneak around one to attack another, other times she leaped from one to attack another from above.Aftermath: Win exp: gained 21(11/21)= 11 exp. Stats: xxxxxINT: 39 xxxxxATK: 9 xxxxxDEF: 12 xxxxxLUK: 4
xxxxxLP: 100 xxxxxENG: 100
Inventory: - Ysali Dragon Orb x1
- Peisio Dragon Soul x1
- Restat Potion x 1
- Life Potion x1 Lazuli gave a curious whistle as the Keindred stared in confusion at the blue skinned girl in the nearby field. He had never seen anyone hitting rocks before and could only imagine it hurt. Maslin shrugged and reached down to offer a reassuring pat on the the drakein's head. "I don't get it either." It looked like Kadryn, who had grown quite a bit since he last saw her, was training but what benefit one got from hitting rocks he had no idea. Fighting was not his forte and unarmed fighting was something he had even less knowledge or skill with. Still, it was impolite to spy on people and the last thing Maslin needed was for Kadryn to think he was peeking on her like some sort of guy who enjoyed that sort of thing. Instead he stepped forward out of the treeline and into the field. Serenia was most beautiful in the summer but even in spring it looked nice as life reclaimed the frozen wastelands winter had brought about. "Hey," he called out, loud enough to get attention but hopefully not so much that he spooked the orderite girl. Maslin wouldn't quite call her a friend but she wasn't someone he was at odds with either.

Kadryn stopped bashing the rock beneath her as she heard a voice call out. Sitting back on her heels, she paused and looked around. Spotting Maslin, she smiled and waved. "Hey there! Nice to see you again, Maslin. What are.. " She stopped as she saw the Keindred following Maslin around. Hmm, had Maslin gone out and stolen it? She hoped that that wasn't true; she had liked Maslin and didn't want to think he'd gone out and deliberately stolen a child from its family.
"Hmm, I see you have a bonded Drakein... You didn't steal him did you?" She cocked her head at Maslin and waited for his response. She also watched the Keindred, she'd only ever seen a full grown Drakein and was fascinated by the small difference between Grrel and this one.

Maslin sighed but shook his head "I didn't steal him, it's complicated but I didn't steal Lazuli." He was not explaining what actually happened though, that was an awkward story and not one he felt like divulging right now. " Why were you punching rocks?"
Sensing a lack of hostility from the blue skinned girl Lazuli gave out a cheerful chirrup before darting forward to headbutt her playfully. They could be blue together! The young drakein wondered if she too had magical water skills.

Kadryn smiled when Maslin said he didn't steal Lazuli. Well, that's good! She watched the small Drakein bounce towards her. She jumped off her rocky perch so she could be at the same level as Maslin. She was rather amused that she was taller then the hybrid. Last time they'd met she'd been much smaller. It was rather nice being tall!
"Well, he's certainly friendly. Does he talk? Grrel does, but she's bigger than Lazuli." Kadryn paused as she realized that Maslin probably didn't know her friend.
"Ah, Grrel's a Drakein I know, she's rather entertaining and friendly. Likes our cooked food a lot. And I'm training to toughen up my body and muscles. I hit rocks cause they're the most similar to a Dragon's scales. Rocks don't get hurt, so I tend to practice on them instead of people. That way I can go all out with no worries. What about you? What are you doing all the way out here?"

"Ahh, Laz can talk a little he just doesn't like to." Maslin had done his best and his family regularly spoke with the drakein but the little peisio seemed to prefer more animalistic vocalizations most of the time. So far as they could tell he was learning speech he just didn't like the sound of his own voice or something to that effect.
The orangish haired boy nodded as Kadryn explained what she'd been doing with the rocks. He supposed that made sense but he couldn't see himself doing that. Hitting dummies filled with sand or perhaps gravel but not solid rock for sure. Then again Kadryn looked for more suited for that brawling style of fighting.
"We weren't doing anything special," Maslin admitted " mostly just seeing if we stumbled upon any lone ysali and also avoiding drakein. I get attacked on site by most of them and Lazuli dislikes them a great deal" To be fair the hybrid boy didn't like them any either. He'd nearly died from the kiandri's attacks.

Kadryn bent down and looked lazuli in the face, "Hmm, so you can talk. Grrel complained about how the bond would lessen a Drakein's power and they won't grow correctly or something. But you look just fine, guess she doesn't know alot about bonded's." She reached out and rubbed Lazuli's snout. Grrel usually loved that, when she allowed Kadryn to touch her that is. She examined Lazuli some more, he was rather pretty and kinda cute in a scaley way.
Kadryn looked over at Maslin, "Looking for Ysali? I didn't exactly peg you as a fighter. You seemed more of a merchant or crafter than warrior. But then, people have hidden sides don't they." Kadryn directed this last comment to Lazuli and talked softly at him for a bit.
"Kinda sad you don't like your own kind, but if you see your friend get attacked by them a lot, then of course you aren't going to like them. Pity you won't learn about your people and culture since you're not being raised among them, but that can't be helped now. Hopefully Maslin raises you as a person and doesn't turn you into a pet or weapon." She looked back at Maslin.
"If you want, we can spar instead of you looking for a Dragon. I'll just use my fists so you don't have to worry about getting hit with my mace. Though you'll have to sit out of this Lazuli, I don't want to damage you. You're probably not as strong as Maslin since you're so young." Kadryn wondered about which weapon Maslin used, certainly not a mace.

Lazuli had rumbled softly at the petting, enjoying the friendly girl's affection. He quite enjoyed having attention showered upon him. He didn't quite understand what the girl meant when she kept talking , only that she was sad and something about drakein, they had probably given her the scars she bore. Lazuli truly disliked his own kind, preferring those who walked on two legs like Maslin.
Maslin was offended by the insinuation that he'd use Lazuli as some sort of tool or toy. He supposed Kadryn didn't known him any better than he knew her but still it was insulting. Did he really seem like the type to bend another to his will?
" Sparring would be nice." Maslin admitted. He wasn't really learning anything stalking around doing nothing. "And I'm not a fighter but my family insists I master the basics." His eyes strayed to where the mace in question lay. The weapon was significantly more menacing looking than his scepter which was currently hidden by his coat. He was greatful to be fighting Kadryn without her weapon of choice not that he expected it to be easy regardless.

Kadryn patted Lazuli one more time before standing up.
"Just the basics? Then I guess this will be a learning experience for you." She smiled, something fun to do this afternoon! "I'll try to show you some of my unarmed attacks. You may never need them, but perhaps someday you'll be in a tight spot and pull a barbarian move to surprise an opponent."
She shook her arms to get some kinks out of them and flexed her fingers. They still ached from the rocks, but since she was only sparring, it wouldn't matter.
"I'll let you go first. Hope you aren't an archer, cause I tend to get close and personal in battles and that's where archers don't want to be! ...Mages too, but they have magic which makes them more dangerous in my opinion." She propped her arms on her hips and grinned.
"Attack whenever you're ready, Maslin."

Quote: Maslin's stats LP: 100 ENG: 100- 20 Maslin had nodded and pulled out his scepter as Lazuli scurried off to the sidelines. He hoped with his magic he could keep distance between them, Kadryn had no problem punching rocks, her blows were going to hurt if they landed on him. Focusing his magic the young man swept his weapon forward as the orb atop it emitted a beam of bright light temporarily. Okay so maybe that wasn't an attack but Maslin preferred his opponents to be disadvantaged and trying to blind Kadryn might be his best chance at coming out of this relatively unharmed attack: Blinding light spell- Kadryn's accuracy lowered by 20 points for 2 turns 60*10% = 6 physical dmg warded next turn

Kadryn's Stats xxxxxLP: 195 xxxxxENG: 195-5=190 Kadryn was pleasantly surprised when Maslin pulled out a scepter and created a blinding light. A mage, and one who knows some good spells! This will be fun. Knowing it was a mage she faced, Kadryn closed her eyes and felt for the inner light that she'd been taught to harness for defensding against magic. Grinning as she opened her now glowing blue eyes, she leaped towards where Maslin last stood. She unfurled her wings and beat them hard and fast, hoping to know Maslin down and cause him to make a noise so she could locate him. Attack Smash (physical) (missed by 1! Kadryn's Stats xxxxxLP: 195 xxxxxENG: 195-5=190 Kadryn heard Maslin step forward to try to strike her back and effortlessly dodged out of the way. She spoke some words of encouragement and advice as she initiated her own attack. "Good try! That was the correct move, you need to attack while your opponent is blinded or has their back to you. Though a magic attack would have been better! Also, you should be wary of being behind Orderites, our wings can be used as weapons..." She demonstrated by suddenly dashing backwards towards where she had heard him last and battered Maslin with her large wings. While it was true that some Orderites wings could be used as weapons, most of the time they weren't. Only barbarians used them in battle to harm; others used them as escape methods only for fear of hurting their wings. Attack Wing Blast(physical) xxxxxDamage: Basic (125) x 25% = 31.25 Blinded by the light! XD xxxxxWarded next: Magic(150) x 50%=75 /Physical (300) x 50% = 150 Damage dealt to Maslin : 31.25-6= 25.25

Kadryn's Stats xxxxxLP: 195 - 120= 75 xxxxxENG: 195-10=185 Kadryn finally could see again, the light that blinded her faded away... just in time for her to see an explosive blast of light rolling towards her. A growl of pain escaped her as she became enveloped in the wave of burning light.
The attack hurt Kadryn too much; her mind blanked and she reacted instinctively, charging forward with intent to kill. Her face was bore a vicious grin as her blood began to pound, answering the call of battle. She attacked Maslin with her fists as if he were a Dragon; no holding back, he was an enemy at this moment.
