What was going on?
Acacia sighed softly, staring up at the moon above him. He stood quietly by the river near the herd that he had learned to live within. The herd that his family was a part of. After leaving the Flock in search of his adoptive mother, Acacia had found his mother and father, and rejoined their herd. But now he wasn’t sure what he was going to do. Honestly, what could he do? The herd was well off, and the family he now was a part of didn’t need him to really be what he was in the Flock. In the Flock, he had trained to be a fighter; a protector and hunt guardian. But now, what was he to do? He frowned some, before lowering his head, ears pinning with a sigh. He couldn’t keep being so pessimistic. He had to find something to do.
Shaking out his green mane, the stallion moved farther along the river bank, watching the water running lightly downstream. He bent down lightly, lapping at some of the clear liquid. He stared at it for a second, before his eyes widened slightly. Was that…? A smile shifted onto his features as he tilted his head, staring down at the small rainbow scaled fish that was swimming quietly in circles and moving up and down the river. He followed the fish for several moments, half laughing at the idea, before his ears snapped up, and his head lifted, staring ahead of him, alert.
What was that? The stallion tilted his head, before he moved toward the trees, letting his body move gracefully between the trees and through the bush. He knew he had heard something, but, there was nothing around. He stopped after a moment, before sighing and shaking his head, eyes lowering. So much for adventure. The bone wings along his back shifted lightly against his back, a slight creaking noise coming out from his back, before they froze. He looked back over his shoulder, flinching slightly as he tried to get himself situated. He hated it. These wings. At first he liked them. They made him unique. But…
They hurt. They hurt so bad that he often had to step away from everyone to gather himself from the pain.
Shaking his head, the stallion walked quietly back toward the river, his head lowering some, tail flicking a bit, before he dipped his head down and lapped at the water again. His muscles twitched lightly, straining slightly, before he felt himself calm down. He kept his head down, staring at the water once more. He silently wished that the fish would come back. Then he would have something to amuse him, at the very least. Instead, there was nothing, but the quite night to be his friend.

Night time traveling once again. A sigh escaped Rinji when he realized that he's been doing more and more traveling during the cool of the night even more so now. He would leave Hitomi behind to watch over the herd, the herd he originally had no intentions on starting, but would not disband either. The half-breed stallion was quite surprised that the little ferret could handle the other soquili, but then again, they never caused much problems either, they were all good soquili, just misunderstood... much like himself.
Walking through the forest, he made his way toward a river he knew was nearby. He didn't expect there to be any other in the area, so the stallion made no real attempts to silence his movement through the trees. Besides, his dark fur and black scales, besides their soft reflection of the moonlight, made him blend with his dark surroundings. Eventually, he broke the line of trees that traced the edge of the river, and glanced around, knowing that predators liked to lurk around where other animals got water. But instead of seeing a wolf or a mountain lion, his dual-colored eyes took notice of the other stallion looking at the water. Curious at first as to what the other soquili was initially doing, his manners finally told him that it would not be polite to bother the other. With that, he just continued to the river to get himself a drink of the water, hoping his movement did not distract the other from what he was doing.

Acacia blinked and shifted slightly, his stance somewhat adjusting. He flinched a bit when his wing shifted, glancing back toward the bone, shooting it an almost glare. It hurt, but he wasn't going to just allow anything to happen, really. It wasn't going to kill him; he had found that out years ago. Shifting easily, he leaned down to let the water lap into his mouth. His eyes closed slowly as he relaxed, ears flicking some. It was quiet out, which the flutter would image was a good thing. His tail flicked lightly, and after a moment, he let his eyes flicker open again, and then up, staring toward the forest.
Which was when he saw another creature.
Acacia froze, visibly locking himself in one position. He could feel his heart beat a bit faster, almost scared. But, by the appearance of the glittering black scales and the the gold chains, he didn't seem to be someone that would cause harm. Acacia lifted his head slowly from the water, letting his eyes flicker along his form for a moment longer, before he glanced back down at his own appearance; his maroon body and green hair. Shaking the thought, he glanced over again, sent a small smile toward the stallion, and nodded his head in a sort of greeting, before dipping his head back down to continue his drink.
