Danny waited impatiently at the gates of school. She'd only been called a week before by her mummy (which, to be fair, was actually quite a bit of time in advance for Claudia), informing her that her cousin was coming.
A cousin she'd never met.
At least she thought she hadn't met.
Wasn't he a scareling last time ...
Would he even recognize her?
She paced back and front of the school, biting her thumb nervously. What if he was really stuck up? What if he was really cool? How was she supposed to ... The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she got. Oh how she wish she'd brought Rikki or Roch out here to stand with her. No, Gene would probably be best, actually. "AUGUHGHHH." Danny threw a fireball at the gate in frustration. Hopefully none of the teachers were watching. Hopefully Brek wasn't watching.

Andrew frowned at his eye-pad, looking over the directions once more. This was where he was supposed to be, right? It looked right, the proper amount of scary, along with the gates he saw in the brochure.
He was supposed to meet his cousin, one he couldn’t actually recall. He knew about Oersted , but he didn’t actually remember having a younger cousin. Danny. That was the name he was given. Well whoever he was, he sure hoped the older boil didn’t decide to snub him too badly. As much as he disliked the idea of being showed around by someone he didn’t even know, he far preferred it to the other option, not knowing where the jack anything way.
That was when he spotted another flame demon hanging around the gates… How common where flame demons outside of the firelands area of Halloween? But… the face didn’t match the name he was given.
And then she threw a fireball. He tried to push off the surprise, from his face. He was pretty sure… that fire outside of practice wasn’t allowed. Or that was what he was told. “If anyone asks, I wasn’t the one who broke that.” He addressed the ghoul.

Scratch that, Danny was a ghoul. “Ah yeah.” He made a show of putting the device away into his pocket to avoid noticing that squint too long. “Danny right?”
Well she did know his name…

Rather scatterbrained as always, Danny said, "You were like ... this big ..." She gestured toward the ground, implying a very, very small height. Then again, Danny had always been ridiculously tall for her age. Maybe she was just tall, and he was average.
She shook her head. "Oh uh! Yeah! I'm here to ... show you the dorm- and stuff!" She gave him a toothy grin, not particularly sure what else to do. Danny was personable, but she had no idea what to do with family members. "Do you wanna go to your dorm ... or ...."

“I’m not that short!” By Jack, he hoped that not everyone in the school commented on his height. Sure he was a little on the small side… “and I never was.” He didn’t really remember her. He must have been really young last they met, if they had at all.
He tried to regain his composer, “Yeah… Mother sent everything ahead. I still have a few things left to set down though.” He gestured to his bag over his shoulder, containing more than it really should. This was going to be uncomfortable, he could feel it.

"Hehe. Shorty," Danny snickered, putting a hand on his hair and ruffling a little.
She nodded, saying, "Yeah my mom did that too when I came. I kinda went in your room I hope that's okay." The sad thing was, this was completely normal behavior for Danny. "I kind of broke a window, but I can totally get it fixed."
She picked up one of his bags and hefted it over her shoulder, having no problems at all. Being on the bruteball team made her buff, but the fitness club, C.L.I.F.F. and casketball team were really what nailed the coffin in. "C'mon, it's this way."

He flinched as the ghoul ruffled his hair. “Don’t touch me.” He grumbled and… “You what? You are paying for that.” He grumped, lips turning down into a pout. Great there would be a draft. “and I can carry that myself…” after hearing she had broken his window he wasn’t sure he trusted her to actually carry his stuff without breaking everything… well thankfully that was mostly clothes anyway. She didn't look like she was letting go of it any time soon. He made a note to keep her out of his room. He followed her face set into a deep pout, as he glanced at the dorms. It was bit cold for his tastes, and a lot greener. He didn’t know what to make of that, but he had expected it.

Danny stuck an arm around his neck as they walked, completely ignoring anything he said about not touching. "So how's uh ... your moms, my aunts ... and stuff."

“Hands off!” he pulled away, using one hand to flail at her. “Just don’t touch me, ok?” she wasn’t slimy, but personal boundaries had been crossed. He ignored her question about his mothers and stepped further away, trying to gauge where they were going. Did this Ghoul even know? Why hadn't his mother just come with him? Oh right he insisted he would be fine.

That time she heard him. It always took two or three times for her to comprehend most anything. "What why? Do you have like a disease?"
She looked at her own hand in horror. "Is it contagious?"

“No.” but you might. “I just don’t like it ok. It’s called personal space.” The only ones allowed to touch him whenever they wanted where his mothers, though he kept trying to convince his mummy that he was too old for that. He frowned as she looked at her hand. “What are you doing? Do I look sick to you? I mean really, if I had something they wouldn’t let me on campus.” Nothing could keep the sarcasm out of his voice.

"Unless you're just saying that," Danny muttered. She was now convinced Andrew had some deadly fire demon disease, and there was no escaping it. She would just have to keep a very close eye on him.
They'd arrived at the dorm quad, the one with the big fountain that she hated so much. "Ummm so there's like five dorms ... that one's the undead and that one's the ghost's." She pointed to those, not really caring to mention much. "That one's monsters- I heard there's like a fire dog moving in or something I hope he's neat." She continued, moving around the circle. "That one's the reaper's. It's really easy to sneak into- I mean not that I do. Like that's against the rules or whatever ... Anyways Roch is there and my boilfriend is there too so it's pretty cool I guess." She just casually mentioned both as though Andrew would just automatically know who they were. "Aaaaand demon dorms! Tadahhh."
She gave him a moment to admire it or whatever he wanted, and then said, "Okay well let's go inside then."

He doubted she snuck into those dorms. More likely she was just allowed in. he nodded mapping out the dorms. At least it looked correct the graveyard for the ghosts, and well. “Wait fire dog?” He remembered them roaming about back home. He just hopped it was a nice one… his last experience with one left him, well, a bit traumatized. He had avoided them ever since. “They let dogs go to school here?” he followed her inside glancing around hoping to prepare himself for any more unwelcome surprises.

"No, no, no," Danny chided, "Not like a minipet dog, like a person dog. Fiery ... flaming ... furnace ... flambeed ... something like that- dog."
She nodded, finding that answer altogether satisfactory. She used a hand to push the door open, running the other through her short, spiky hair. "I dunno, but I bet he's gonna be cool. Some people at this school kinda ... don't like fire." A subtle look at the ENTIRE undead dorm.
Once more she shook her head and said, "But there are cool people too. Anyways, which one's your dorm again?" She'd already forgotten.
