Pyper awoke with a smile on her face, for she had been dreaming....about him. Ever since that first day they'd met, she couldn't get his goofy, handsome, slightly annoying face out of her head. He challenged her in all the right ways and had a flirty, sensual side as well.
She didn't consider herself a romantic, but she was beginning to care for the stallion. They had seen each other a few times since that first meeting, but it wasn't enough. She missed him every time they said goodbye, but her heart fluttered each day she knew she'd see him again.
Today was one of those days.
She groomed herself and ate some breakfast of berries and ferns before starting to their meeting spot by the river. She felt extra perky this morning, so she ran instead of walked to meet him. She figured she would be early, but she just couldn't wait to see him.

It was another semi-normal morning as the sun peaked over the horizon, except this morning Raja had already been awake for some time. The time he had spent with his newest pal had diminished a bit as of late. He had seen the mare a few times in passing since that eventful day, but hoped that another day like before was somewhere in the future.
Raja shook his head. "You silly old goof. Are you falling for her?" he said to himself. He knew he as, but he had an image to uphold, even if it was just for himself.
After the quick personal exchange, Raja shook his head again, this time to 'fix' his hair, and headed off to the river, stopping intermittently, wondering if he was to early, and would look eager to the mare, or whether he'd end up late and miss her after all.

She arrived a bit early and decided to take the time to freshen herself in the spring, dipping her head down and taking a big drink of water. She wiped her chin on her foreleg so she didn't have any drips. The tips of her bangs had gotten wet and so now stuck to her. She tried shaking her head to loosen them, but they didn't move. Sighing, she stepped back out of the water and into a stream of sunlight to dry as she waited for Raja.

As Raja approached the river banks, his heart started racing as he saw the mare standing there. He had his hopes up that she had come to see him. He couldn't be sure that she was there for him, but after their last visit, he had a strong feeling she was. He was a distance away from her, and tried his best to sneak up on her, and have a little more fun this time.
Raja paced himself, and slowly walked up behind the mare. As he aproached, his tail twitched, and at that moment he decided to make his presence known. He nudged her rear quarters to try and knock her a bit off balance. At the same time he spoke. "You wouldn't be waiting here for little old me, would ya?"

Feeling the bump from behind, she tensed, and got a little off balance stumbling a bit. Instantly she was a bit grumpy, but when she heard his voice, her mood lightened to playful anger.
"What are y- Oh!" she huffed, "Raja! You almost made me fall in the water." She scooped her hoof into the water and splashed some water at him playfully. "Of course I was waiting for you. We had a plan to meet today, remember silly? I'm glad you came." She smiled at him.

Raja giggled a bit as the mare stumbled. "I should have tried a bit harder!" he laughed, "You'd be waterlogged." Suddenly he was hit with a splash of water, He immediately shook to help dry himself, even though it wasn't that much.
"We were supposed to meet?" he questioned her. "I don't recall making those plans." he said. Raja honestly didn't remember, but it wasn't uncommon for him to be forgetful. "Was that a challenge?" he asked the mare in regards to the mares splash, hoping that she might 'forget' that he had forgotten about their meeting.

She scoffed at his retort. "You'd better not!" she playfully scolded. "It took me a long time to get my hair to look this fabulous." She stuck out her tongue.
She pretended to be sad and pouted. "You mean you forgot? How could you forget?" she said in a pouty voice.
"No matter, let's just enjoy this gorgeous day together. What would you like to do? As long as it doesn't involve me getting drenched, I'll be happy doing almost anything....with you." She added that last part in a little sheepishly and blushed.

Raja held back, although it took a lot of his might. He certainly didn't want the mare to think of him as mean. He could see through her "pouty" face, but he was concerned about being to over the top. He tried to joke a bit with Pyper. "How long?" he asked, regarding her hair, "Not that long?" he laughed, changing the subject of forgetting.
Raja moved closer to the river to get a quick sip. He slurped the water as loud and as obnoxious as he could, licking his lips frequently. "I hadn't thought of anything in particular." he said just before bending down for another mouthful of water, again as loud and as obnoxious as he could. This time however, he kept the mouthful of water, and walked calmly over to the mare.

"Well, you know, fabulous doesn't just happen," she chuckled. She watched as he drank and was quite curious about why he moved towards her with his cheeks full. "What are you doing?" She asked, just as she realized what he was up to. "OH no you don't!" she gasped and turned to run from him, giggling. She was glad he wanted to play, and didn't really mind if he got her wet, but she had to keep up the ruse to keep it playful.

Raja was shocked that she had paid that much attention to him to know his mouth was full, but gave chase anyway. He swallowed his big gulp, and gave chase to the mare. "Where do you think you're going... honey?" he asked with a chuckle. "Don't you trust me?" He continued in pursuit. "get back here!" he hollered at her. How can we make plans for the day if your gonna run?"

EDITED He had called her honey.... just the thought of which sent chills through her. Was that his way of flirting with her? She smiled at the sweet gesture. "You were going to spit water a me!" she chided. "Of course I'm gonna run!" She didn't run fast, only trotted a few feet away and turned to see where he was. "Well, I think we're having plenty of fun right now," she said, and took off again. "Don't you agree?"

"Me? Little ole me?" he asked, "Why would I do such a thing?" he continued. Raja enjoyed the playful times he had with the mare, and was happy that the mare had grinned at the fact that he had referred to her as 'honey'. In all honestly, it was something that had just slipped out, but he knew that is was something he meant in the back of his mind. The truth had slipped, but was she on to him? He tried to divert his attention from that after taking a minute or two to digest all of this.
"Uh, yeah!" he answered, catching back up with her conversation, "I just though you wanted to do something different." He strolled back up close to the mare, and once he was close enough, he gave her a quick shove with his snout (only a small one) to get her goat again. Then he took off, galloping along the riverbank.

"Ha! Raja, now, really. I wouldn't put it past you to push me into the water. I won't give you the chance to do that," she replied, stopping so he could catch up. She was almost expecting something else when he came so close, and felt a bit embarrassed when it wasn't what she expected, that she was left standing there when he took off. She shook her head slightly and called after him, running to catch up. "Hey! I'm the one supposed to be running from you!" She laughed as she chased after him.

Raja giggled once again at the mare. He loved spending this time with her. Honestly, she was the most fun to be around, especially when he was trying to pull of some of his pranks.
Raja continued to stay at a steady pace ahead of the mare, occasionally looking back. For a short moment, Raja thought the mare was catching up to him, so he sped up the pace just slightly as he looked back to see the mare. As he noticed her distance, he turned forward for just a short moment and saw a large, dead tree branch lying right is his path. Thinking quickly, Raja attempted to swerve a bit to the right and miss the branch. He almost missed the branch completely, but his left front foot clipped it enough to send Raja into a stumble, and with as much of his might, Raja was unable to gain balance again and stumbled to the ground.
