I would suggest that, at the start of a relationship, you state your views on waiting before sex up front. For some, sex is all there is to a relationship, for others it is practically non-existent. It is understandable that you would desire to have a connection before moving into more intimate situations. Good luck.

For me this whole "dating" scene right now is really awkward, doesn't help that I'm shy.

What the hell? What kind of people are you dating? It's a good thing you ran, seriously. Since when have people started getting the idea that dating means "SEXYTIYMESGOGOGO!!!"? cat_xp

Since when have people started getting the idea that dating means "SEXYTIYMESGOGOGO!!!"? cat_xp I know right no romance. You now have to explain to people you don't want sex or sex text until we get past the first date. My friend was different though, I think she was desperate for some romance. I mean I get it people are horny but there are safer ways that don't involve scarring your friend for life and having sex with random people.

It's ridiculous how some people are like that. One of my ex-boyfriends was like that. He took every moment to try to do something... even several awkward moments in the locker room.. we had gym together... I never really see this kind of thing as a "real" relationship. Tell them that's not what you want, but if they keep on... it's hard to say it but maybe it wasn't meant to be. If they do like you, they'll understand, on the other hand.
