Could she really do this? Could she really put aside everything that had happened in her life and hope for the better? Of course Otrera hoped she could, but that didn't mean she actually could. The day was young, the morning sky just starting to turn the lighter shade of blue most affiliated it with. A sneer came upon her face as she looked over the bountiful lands of the Pridelands. They had it so good here. Plenty of food, food for their game and water to keep thirst at bay. Nothing like some of the conditions she had lived in. No, she had to put the past behind her or at least that's what she kept telling herself though her anger was growing by the minute, slowly but still growing.

A walk would do both him and his mate good. At least that's what he had pitched to Ankara that morning. They had been so caught up in helping Nzasi with her new litter that they had barely stopped to enjoy eachother's company for much longer then a few exchanging words before settling down for the evening. For only two cubs, they were proving to be a pawful. So that's why he had managed to get Ankara out of the den and on a walk with him. Fresh air would help de-stress them, blah blah blah, kind that of stuff. Or at least that's what Zimran kindly suggested to him to say.

With a smile, he turned to his mate who was walking with him, giving her a gentle, affectionate rub on her upper neck. "See, I told you this was a good idea." Really, it was surprising that it was Mohombi suggesting the walk, considering he was the one freaking out more then she was.

Ankara returned his show of affection with a lick upon his cheek. "Yes, and it is a lovely day out as well." She replied, glancing up at the clear blue sky. The lioness certainly realized a break would be good, as they had indeed been spending a lot of time helping Nzasi. When Ankara and Mohombi were not off hunting for the pride they were there at their daughter's side, helping her in any way needed with their new little grandcubs. They were an adorable pair for sure, but even now it seemed they'd grow up just as adventurous as their mother. The thought made her smile, but also worry for the dangers that could lurk around every rock and tree. Even the safety of the Pridelands did not seem to quell these fears, however she tried her best to put them aside and spend this time with her mate.

You'd think if there were so many Pridelanders as Otrera had heard there were, she would have seen one by now. But no, she had been wandering the borders, hoping to find a scout by now for over a few hours. She had approached before dawn, thinking that it would have been a better time; at least for the borders, to find someone. Boy how she was proven wrong about that one. There, in the distance, hope! Two lions by the look of it were walking. Summoning all of her grace and courage from her many experiences, she began walking again, this time in the direct path to intercept with the pair.

"This is true," Mohombi replied, turning his head skyward to look at the blue above him. Dotted with clouds, it was perfect day. "I would like to hope I wouldn't invite you for a walk on a grueling hot day or the day of a significant thunderstorm. What an adventure that would mate though!" Ending his over-exaggeration with a hearty laugh as he turned his head back from looking at Ankara to looking forward. His eyes closed from laughing, he did not reopen them until his head had turned back around, only to open them to lay eyes upon a much redder looking lioness in the distance but approaching.

Ankara chuckled at him. "How lucky I am to have found such a considerate male." She bumped her shoulder against his as she chuckled once more. As her own gaze shifted back ahead she spotted the same lioness some distance away. They didn't look familiar. A rogue perhaps passing through, or maybe even wishing to join? It had been a while since she had welcomed a new face into the pride. With a grin to Mohombi she quickened her pace a little, intent on greeting this female.

"Hello there!" Ankara called out to the darker female.

He wasn't quite so sure about this lioness. There was just something off about her that Mohombi couldn't quite place, regardless though, he followed after his mate to approach he. Letting Ankara do the talking, he simply stood a little off to the side behind her, acting more as a muscle then anything. Just in case this lioness decided to try anything funny, is all. Since the new arrivals, he had been getting more and more wary about lions or really anything he didn't know and already trust. While trying to keep it to himself and appear as friendly as possible of course. He was a Pridelander after all now.

Otrera raised a brow, looking between the two lions. They were an...odd pair to say the least. At least by her standards. Already saying hello to a stranger they didn't even know. How trusting, this definitely was the Pridelands. At least her waiting had finally paid off and they weren't just passing rogues who likely would have bolted to avoid confrontation. "Hello," She replied to the call, but her voice much less enthused. Oooh no, Otrera was happy at all about joining the Pridelands, but swallowing her pride, she was making herself. For now at least, to give this kind of life a shot. "Am I speaking to a Pridelander?" Despite their rather Outlander looking coats, she did not recognize them. And their seemingly over-trusting nature betrayed them.

Ankara glanced over at her silent mate. She probably could have guessed his reasoning for not being as outgoing, but rogues weren't going to stop wanting to join simply because their daughter had cubs now, and she wasn't going to let that get in the way of offering her greetings and help to one such rogue either.

At the dark lioness' question Ankara nodded. "You are." She replied, smiling at the other female. "I am Ankara and this," She nodded back at the male standing behind her before turning back to the female. "Is my mate, Mohombi. Are you looking to join the Pridelands?" She asked curiously. "Or have you other business here?" She wasn't going to assume that joining was the only reason for anyone to be here, however she was willing to give her help should this rogue female need it.

"Well good, I was hoping I was talking to someone from here and not another pair of traveling rogues; I've had several already run from me." Of course Otrera was trying to be as polite as she could be but her snarky attitude was showing through. Clearing her throat, hoping she didn't offend them someone by saying that they looked like rogues or anything, she continued. "I am Otrera, I seek entry into the Pridelands to forge ahead a...better life." The word 'better' took a moment to come to mind. Their dark pelts reminded her much of her birth lands and she could not help but think of it and if it was really wise to join the Pridelands after all? 'No,' She thought to herself. 'I'm here. I'm going through with this.'

Mohombi was not as convinced but if Ankara would trust her, there was little reason why he shouldn't. At least he would have been a little more cautious is extending the offer of joining though he wouldn't turn them away; it just wasn't something the Pridelands did except under very specific circumstances. "At least you have a noble reason," He commented, finally speaking to Otrera who nodded in thanks curtly in thanks to him in response.

"It is nice to meet you, Otrera." Ankara spoke, before nodding her agreement at Mohombi's comment. "Yes, wanting a better life is certainly never a bad thing. Well," She spoke, smiling as she looked fro Otrera to Mohombi and back. "Why don't we show you to Pride Rock then?" Ankara offered.

Groaning Mohombi nodded to his mate as he stood and turned back towards the direction of Pride Rock. He wasn't happy, oooh no, but he had to deal with it. "Come on then, follow me." Of course the male lion knew he'd probably be chastised later for his rudeness, but he didn't really care at the time. Without caring too much if she did follow him or not, he started padding off back in the direction of their home pride. He'd have to go through the process of getting her introduced to the other members of her hunting party after getting her approved of course. Great.

Otrera could not help but smile at the male's obvious unhappiness with her wanting to join. With a great joy in her pace, she began walking after the brown male known as Mohombi. A strange name but then her's could be odd as well. The Pridelands did not judge based on what your sire named you as far she was aware. "Thank you Ankara," She turned her head to look over her shoulder, giving the other lioness her thanks. "At least I know there are some friendly faces around her." A statement obviously meant to further annoy the Pridelander lioness' mate. Turning her head back around, her red eyes kept on the prize of Pride Rock in the distance, she followed between the two of them back further into the Pridelands.

Ankara frowned slightly at Mohombi's attitude, however she kept silent for now. Without looking back Mohombi turned and started to make his way back towards Pride Rock. She would have to say something later, for sure. For now she nodded and smiled in reply to the new lioness' thanks. "Of course. It's always better to meet a friendly face when coming to an unknown place, especially if you plan to make that place your home." Somehow she managed to keep the mild annoyance at her mate out of her voice. She couldn't blame him for being unhappy. Their time together was cut short. That was no reason to take it out on this newcomer though.

With that Ankara followed after Otrera an Mohombi towards Pride Rock.
