Ok the other night I was at my friends house and we were watching Zim. Her 9 year old brother was also watching. We were watching the Halloween special. Now this brother...lets call him...Kyle. Well Kyle was asking lots of questions. He asked "so wait Dib imagined the Halloween world?" and my friend and i answered "no the world exsists in its head. meaning all the weird monsters walk around in his head." After this my friend and i were still confused and we were wondering if the halloween world was imagined by Dib OR if it physically exsists in his head (and this is just another joke about his head being big). Please leave your opinions because im curious.

Actually I think it physically exists in his head becaus you have to remember the part where the monsters were comin through... They were comin out of the portal in his head if I remember right.. He just switched to the different realities that only existed in his mind... it's like two worlds and you can be in both only at different times.... is that too confusing confused
So that is wat i think!!!

I think its sorta both. He created the world mentely,then it became physical when the creatures became self aware....Kinda like in JTHM

I think its physically in his head (even though I said imagined, but that's cause im a little slow and didnt get the question). Its like in mini size or something and so it can fit in his head. So when the "Ms. Bitters" came out, she expanded to earth sized proportions... or something like that. I really dont know.
But this just makes you think; are there shruken worlds existing in all our heads? Maybe thats why only 10% of our brain is used and the rest is made up of whatever world thats in there.

The world is created by his mind... it doesn't necessarily mean it's in his head. It's just said that the portal is through his head. For all we know, this Nightmare World could be in another dimension or a few houses down.

oh zomg i feel smart because i personally know two people on this thread BUT THATS BESIDES THE POINT!! [*waves to cie and ellipses*]
haha that was a confusing point for me, too, but i think this is just one of those wonderful topics where people should just say I DON'T KNOW and leave it at that, lol.
personally, i think that it was imagined, yes, but it was imagined in his head. so the whole world does't exist in his head. just parts of it. and then certain parts became real once dib was thrown into their dimension. make sense so far? didn't think so. well anyway.. it makes sense once they all try to go to dib's world. uhhm yeah i'm not helping.
then again, i agree with MyTallest. his head IS freakishly large. haha.

The portal is only in his head. His head IS big, but he will grow into it. Gaz's head is big, too. Her hair just covers it better, hiding it, in essence. She, too, will grow into her head, but her hair will dominate it, as did Dib's thunder-sickle forelock.
The portal leads to another dimension, in which all is nightmare and terror. Perhaps it is simply a version of reality Dib's subconscious lives in, and the portal was triggered when he messed with the Dimension Scope. Science in the hands of the uneducated can be a dangerous thing, after all. Who are we to say that our own minds do not terrify us like nothing else can? Perhaps the Nightmare World is simply that 90 percent of Dib's brain that goes unknowing and unused.
