Quote: 'You ungrateful child. Everything I do has been for your own good. All these males coming to call, they only want you for your beauty. I've protected you from all of them and then, there you go, waltzing off with that creepy little fellow. He lives in a hole, you know. I saw it. Just a bunch of dirt and rocks and little skulls and little rats running around everywhere. It's a disgrace. He doesn't even have a tail. Have you seen that thing? It's hidous. You're worth so much better than that darling. Listen to your mother. Please. Come home now. It's for the best." Quote: Persephone is going to be... I think, a tougher character maybe. 'I wasn't carried off mother. I chose this. Oh do stop going on.' Sort of like that. She'll love nature and all that jazz too. 8P Quote: I don't see him as cruel, necessarily, maybe his actions could be perceived that way, but I feel like he doesn't see himself as cruel. He is just and impartial, and I think he might purposely seek out what some kin deem to be the dredges of society because he feels that life has been cruel to them. That's why he seeks out the crocodiles (which is how he lost his tale), the rats, those who have become disenfranchised through no fault of their own. It seems like he disdains other kin who don't tend to skulk by the darkside, but its not that he feels like he's superior, he just feels like it is his duty to right injustices. He has a nasty, nasty temper though, which is probably where his reputation comes from and he doesn't have a quick burst, he is cold and holds a grudge and will ream into you until he believes his wrong has been right. I think that he might have originally been uninterested in her because of her mother presents this really superior outlook on life. And maybe he follows Demeter around for a while (stalker!) which further solidifies her bad opinion of him and it's during this time (he just wanted to pick up those that got mowed down by her personality) that he observes Persephone and they maybe pursue each other? Quote: And I adore the part where he follows Demeter around to start with. Demeter probably would have told Persephone about him and when she sees him for herself, she’s intrigued and then yes, they start to pursue each other. But at first for Persephone it’s mostly because her mother disapproves so much. Persephone has spent so much time, just doing whatever she’s told, that being with Hades gives her a thrill. Then she learns more about him, and falls in love. PERSEPHONE ENTRY!

I'm trying to decide on a name. It has to be something to do with flowers and plants I think.

Kin 2's Name: Three Personality Keywords: Rebellious, passionate, assertive Short Personality Blurb: Passion drives Spring through her life. For a long time she was content to let her mother call the shots, happy to tend to her many gardens while her mother carefully diswayed male visitors that came calling. The flowers always came first, they were her gift to the swamp. Then he arrived. Overnight she shrugged off her mantle of meekness and despite her mother's fervent protests, decided that this was the buck she would spend the rest of her life with. What he thoguth of this, she didn't know, but she was sure she could convince him that this was a good idea.

I'm trying to think of something death-y but not too overt since I don't really want that to be his domain.

Okay, now I'm thinking her name is Pomegranate or Pomegranate Seed. She's often depicted holding those. <3

*giggles*
I seem to have wiped this exchange from my memory because I'm pretty sure I've read The Last Olympian but...Quote: “The older lady harrumphed. "I warned you, daughter. This scoundrel Hades is no good. You could've married the god of doctors or the god of lawyers, but noooo. You had to eat the pomegranate." "Mother-" "And get stuck in the Underworld!" "Mother, please-" "And here it is August, and do you come home like you're supposed to? Do you ever think about your poor lonely mother?" "DEMETER!" Hades shouted. "That is enough. You are a guest in my house." "Oh, a house is it?" she said. "You call this dump a house? Make my daughter live in this dark, damp-" "I told you," Hades said, grinding his teeth, "there's a war in the world above. You and Persephone are better off here with me."

Aaah Morphy, I love his personality and that little exchange is adorable. xD Right ow my brain ia bit everywhere. I attempted to make a blub for Persephone's personality but I'm not liking it too much at the moment. ;o; Sorry I'm so slow with ideas. I'll get back to you soon with something more solid.
Also, I like Judgement-In-Shadows and In the Presence of Death. <3

So is this Demeter rant supposed to be Goddess Demeter or potential Matope-world Demeter? Anyway, I fiddled with your write up, ack, sorry. ;o; I like playing with dialogue. Hades needs more to say though… and please tell me its crap if it is. xD Quote: The older lady harrumphed. "I warned you, daughter. This scoundrel Hades is no good. You could've married the god of doctors or the god of lawyers, but noooo. You had to eat the pomegranate. Now you’re tied yourself to this nasty man for all eternity." “You know I’m standing right here.” "And get stuck in the Underworld in the process!" “Ignore her, Hades - and, I’d hardly call it stuck.” "And here it is August, and do you come home like you're supposed to? Do you ever think about your poor lonely mother?” “I can’t say that I do.” “He’s such a terrible influence, making you say such cruel things. Just come home with me. I’ll take care of you like I always have. How will you even live in this dinghy place? Where are the flowers? If you think you’ll be able to grow a garden down in the dark here you will be sorely mistaken. Not to mention all the neighbours are dead. Dead sweetie. You won’t be getting any fresh ‘welcome to the neighbourhood’ pies. You’ll be lonely here, trust me.” “I’ll be fine mother.” “So you abandon me and the earth. Everyone will be doomed because of you.” “I’ll be back in three months to visit. I’m sure it will be fine until then.” “What about you Mr. Lord of the Dead, aren’t you ashamed of yourself for stealing away such a precious blossom and locking her in darkness? Well, you should be.

Eek. I didn't make it clear that that was a quote from a novel!
I do really like the dialogue format so:
Quote: The older doe stamped her hoof, but on the soft swamp floor, it did nothing but squish out a strange, blubbering bubble, which really diminished her forbidding stance. She began her rant anyway; she didn't become the doe she was letting the useless swamp floor, so different from the blooming plains of her youth, defeat her. "I warned you, daughter. I warned you." She looked around at the dark, dank, and quite frankly repulsive surroundings and couldn't help but burst out, "And now stuck in this- this- hole." " Mother!" "Don't 'Mother!' me in that voice! Goodness knows you must have learned this attitude from this-" She couldn't even bring herself to say buck. "Mother, he is my mate and he is a kin just like you and I." "But look at that little skull around his that disgraceful weed on his head he calls hair." The buck at which this diatribe was directed act didn't think that comment was worth a response. The same as ever this old doe, so superior and disparaging. "And- Oh my! Is that a rat?" The doe leaped up and away from where she had been standing before searching around, hoof lifted to stamp on it, only to find that it had crawled up her daughter's leg and settled on her shoulder. Her desire to eradicate the rat warred with her love for her daughter, as misguided as it was. "Please don't say things like that, Mother." "Like what? That there are rats swarming in this hold he calls home?" "No, well yes, that too, but his hair is perfectly nice and you know this is is my home to." "If I had anything to do with it, it wouldn't be! You never visit anymore! I haven't seen you in several moons! Don't you ever think of your poor, lonely mother anymore?" "Not when all you would do if I did visit is yell at me for my choice of mate!" "Oh! He's such a terrible influence, making you say such cruel words to your mother! Just come home with me and I'll take care of you like I always have. There's not need to stay in such an ugly part of the swamp. Where are the flowers? The beautiful gardens of bright blooms? You could never grow a garden like the ones at home down in this part of the swamp! There's so little light! And all the neighbors are dead and gone! Or about to kill you! You're not going to get any 'Welcome to our corner of the swamp' garlands from any of his kind! Look at them with their crazy smiles, they're going to kill you if he doesn't!" "Mother! He is not going to kill me, neither are our neighbors, and plants grow perfectly well over here. If you would be a little more civil maybe I would show you our mushroom garden. It glows in the dark. It's beautiful." "Beautiful?" The old doe harrumphed. "If you think anything would be beautiful down here, you must be mistaken. Anything that would grow within a tail's length of this disgrace of a buck-" "You do realize that I have been here this entire time. I'd appreciate it if I were more than just 'he'." "Oh, I'm sorry dear, you know how it is when I get angry." The younger doe smiled gently at the Acha standing at her side, nudging him affectionately with her nose. He smiled at her, eyes softening. The moment, of course, had to be ruined by the screeching of her mother. "Look at the two of you! So disgusting! And you, you, Mr. I-Walk-Around-With-Dead-Things! Aren't you ashamed of yourself for stealing away such a precious blossom and dragging her into the darkness? You should be! Daughter, don't you remember how he stalked me around the swamp, such a terrifying buck! So evil!" "That's how I met him remember? If you didn't want us to meet you shouldn't have told me about him and then led him straight to me. But you know what? I'm glad you did, because I'm happy, Mother. I'm truly, truly happy with him." "How can you be happy here? How can you be so ungrateful for all that I've done for you? You'll never get anywhere in life here! You'll die and rot away with all the other rotting bodies! You'll-" "WE'RE HAVING CHILDREN!" And well, didn't that shock her into silence.

(Sorry, I didn't realise the other one was from a novel /derp XD). I'm going to mess with Persephone's dialogue a bit and then I think we'll be golden.

Oh gosh, it's okay! I didn't make it clear at all that it was from a novel!
And I really like the changes you made, her character voice is so lovely!
For names, if you go with Blooms-In-Darkness, I'll probably go with Judgement-In-Shadows and for anything else, probably In the Presence of Death or Presence of Death. Of the name listed, I rather like Blooms-In-Darkness, Flight of Spring, and Fertile Earth (though I rather think that would be a good name for Matope!Demeter).
