Sometimes, Alecto wished she had been born a monster rather than a demon. Her tail flicked back and forth as she nestled into a sweet spot on a tree branch. She was careful to find a thicker branch so she was less likely to roll around in her sleep and fall to the ground like the previous attempt. At least that fall had led her to meeting another canine student. Her lips curled into a wolfish grin. She would have to find Tybalt again soon, but for now she was going to spend her free time lazing around in the trees.
To pass the time, she conjured up fire motes and moved her fingers to get them to dance in bobbing circles. Alecto hummed as she gradually made the motes shine brighter and grow slightly larger. She wondered if she would be able to burn down the forest with her meager fire manipulation, but considering this forest was school property, she figured it was better to not even try.chirigami Chiriii I'mma just throw a FIN into our Maple/Alecto RP >w>;; /drowning in...tags....

If settling in wasn't enough of a task, unpacking and getting her dorm room to feel more like home, it was navigating the school. Maple was trying to get her barrings, to figure out key locations like the classrooms and the library and even the Creepateria. Learning, reading and food, seemed like sensible places to figure out since finally getting to Amityville.
Though, misfortune had other plans and kept getting the pool ghoul lost at nearly every turn she took, wrong corridors and even wronger doorways and rooms and buildings. It was at least getting her a basic geographic sense of the place, building a mental map, but the young witch wasn't finding what she was looking for. Somehow she had found herself outside, near the Monster dorms - though she wasn't really aware they were.
Maple stopped in her tracks, her big brown eyes tracking up upon the trees that loomed over her head now. Her brows pushed together in worry, "O-oh d-dear..." she stuttered, hands to her chest as she looked around. "P-please d-don't be the We-weeping F-forest..." It would be just her luck to have found one of the forbidden locations on school campus. Hesitantly, the young witch took a step forward, eyes scanning to find any indication of where she was.
"Please.. don't be.. the Weeping F-forest," she said again, taking the plunge into the trees against all sense of reason; she was off to a bad start already, what else could go wrong. It wasn't the worst location to have found, though. Maple liked forests, it reminded her of home and thankfully she had found herself at the not so forbidden one without knowing it.

Her ears twitched when she caught the murmurings of another voice. She crinkled her nose idly before she leaned over to stare at the forest floor below. It was difficult for the dog to see from so high up, so her claws wiggled before the motes bobbing in her palm began to float downwards to allow her a better view of the ground.
Yellow eyes dimly glowed in the darkness as she sat up and began to make her way down the tree trunk. More fire motes began to dance around the demon ghoul as she slid down. “Nah, this isn’t the Weeping ForestForest,” she answered the voice. Her boots crunched beneath leaves when she finally landed. Her tail whipped back and forth as she casually strolled between the trees. “Youyou sound scared. Are you lost?” she called out. “Oh! This is the Not-Forbidden ForestForest. That’s what peoplepeople tell me, anyways.”
She lifted her nose to the air and sniffed a couple times. After Alecto caught sent of something different, she changed her course accordingly so she could head for the reaper. “Are youyou lost? This is by the monster dorms.”

It was a silly thought to have that she would be alone in such a place, given how large and populated the school was. But, Maple was still surprised when she heard someone calling to her, and at the same time relieved to hear where she had ended up.
Her hands went up in a flash, grabbing at the brim of her headscarf near her cheeks. She stood rooted where she was, her only movement being her head as she tried to locate the source of the voice. And maybe a few carefully footed circles. "A-a little," she replied in a still tiny voice, and vague. Scared? Lost? Both really, even if she hated herself for admitting it.
"I-I was... ex-exploring..." The little witch explained in so little words. Did she dare take a step to go find the other ghoul? What if they couldn't find each other if she moved? It would make things so much worse and the other ghoul probably knew her way around a lot better.
Though, Maple had to also wonder if being found would be a good idea even. "W-where are y-you?" Her brown eyes searched around, only catching a flicker of a light every so often and was entirely unsure of that was whom was coming.

Silence at first, save for the crunching of gravel beneath her boots. The canine’s ears twitched when she thought she heard something. Alecto attempted to lean toward the sound’s direction, but still found it difficult to make any sense of the sounds. “Couldcould you repeat that in a louderlouder voice? I couldn’t hear you just nownow.” Balls of fire continued to hobble throughout the forest, lighting a pathway for the ghoul. Glowing eyes stood out against the darkness as she continued to follow the other ghoul’s quiet words.
“Youyou should speak louder. You’re hard to hearhear,” she noted in a loud, clear voice. Her tail flicked back and forth. A figure began to appear in the distance. “Oh, is that youyou?” The figure appeared to be small and stationary. It didn’t look harmful, but appearances could be deceiving. Regardless, Alecto chose to head toward its direction and waved her clawed hands at what she hoped was the other student. “Hey! I’m Alecto. You?”
There was no fear or caution in her gestures when she stepped closer to Maple. She easily leaned her face in dangerously close while tilting her head. “Are you lost?”

The clear sounds of traveling feet upon the forest's surface finally reached Maple's ears, enough for her to finally get a better idea of where her caller was coming from. At least vaguely, the little witch didn't have a lot of audio-sensory advantages as some of the creatures of Halloween did.
"L-louder?" She called out, well, louder. It wasn't by much, but in the least there was a little raise in the ghoul's voice. Maple wasn't sure exactly how much she could go, not with the beating of her heart just ringing in her ears as the anticipation began to wrap around her. Just who was she going to meet anyway? This was taking a while, was this all going wrong? What-
Oh wait, there she was. Maple's eyes grew a little wider when Alecto announced herself. "Aaa," was her first amazing response. She wasn't frightened, per say, just more surprised. And nervous. So many things that could go wrong!
"I-I'm ... Maple," she introduced herself, trying not to stumble on her own name, with a small smile and an awkward wave. Her brown eyes darted to the ground for a moment before meeting Alecto's glowing yellow, finding them now much much closer than they had been before.
"Aaa!" Maple couldn't help but recoil as her new companion leaned in. "A-a, y-yes, I-I was exploring... a-and I f-found myself... here..."

“Yes!” She barked happily when she finally managed to discern what the other was saying. “Hmm, you’re quietquiet,” Alecto observed as she took in the other ghoul’s nervous expression and timid posture. Her head rolled to the side as she leaned forward to pick up her name. “Maple! I see I see. It’s nice to meet you.” She would have brought out her hand, but Maple instead yelped and stepped back.
“Ah.” She tilted her head even more while a clawed hand cupped her chin. [I think you scared the ghoul, idiot.] (Do it again. Heh.) Alecto seemingly laughed for no reason, but really she was laughing at the other personalities. “I see!” Finally she brought out her hand for the reaper to take if she wanted. “So you are not lostlost?”
“Ah!” The glow of her eyes flared up briefly as an idea came to her via Megaera. “If you are exploring, you are not familiar with the forest and likely new! Yesyes? Are we right?” Her tail wagged excitedly in the dark as the motes gathered together and formed a protective circle of light around the two students.

"N-nice to m-met you t-too," Maple replied in a hushed tone, her body still pulled back slightly and in on herself. Her brown eyes at least weren't as wide as saucers but they threatened to grow when Alecto broke into a laugh. Instead, her expression turned to curiosity. Had she done something funny, or was she just giving off that awkward a vibe? Oh dear.
She brought her gaze down for a moment, looking at the offered hand before she hesitantly held out her own to shake in greeting. It was stiff on her end, but perhaps that would be expected. "M-maybe j-just a little," Maple admitted sheepishly; though she was still not totally clued in on the double use of the word 'lost.' The double use of words was being picked up on, but honestly she wasn't sure what it was. A different type of stutter? She wasn't going to comment on it, however, not wanting it to lead to something bad.
"I am d-defiantly n-new though," at least that could be said without feeling ashamed. Nothing wrong with that at all. It at least garnered a happy reaction from her companion, relaxing her posture from such a sight and enough to smile completely seeing the ring of lights around them.
It wasn't often she got to see such displays of power; her mother had done something similar once with her magic, but this was completely different. Beautiful even. Maple almost wanted to touch them, but wasn't sure of what exactly would happen; these were fire after all. "W-what br-brought you out he-here?"

The ghoul’s voice was quiet, forcing the dog to lean in further to hear better. Glowing eyes blatantly stared at the horns placed atop of the stranger’s head. Their presence made Alecto wonder if this student was a fellow demon, since it seemed to be a common characteristic within the faction. Then again, a far number of monsters shared such a trait as well. Perhaps she was actually a monster. “Just a littlelittle?” she returned with a wide grin. “I thinkthink quite a bit.” She laughed loudly, the sound echoing throughout the forest. The hellhound remained fearless as creatures rustled around them, leaves shaking as they fell from the trees, bushes shivering as animals moved around.
“Cool!” she barked, ears rising excitedly. “Me too! Well, I thinkthink I’ve settled in well, but still trying toto get my bearings here. Soso I’ve been trying to explore the school lotslots.” Alecto nodded her head slowly, as if it was an obvious course of action to do.
Fire magic was the only magic she ever bothered to do nowadays. Alecto gestured for the flames to gather closer until they flew into one giant flame that she snuffed out by clenching her fingers into a fist. The glow of her eyes appeared brighter and she hummed upon realizing just how dark the forest was at the moment. She opted to leave a single flame flickering between the two of them.
“I wanted toto explore the school more. Also I likelike this forest. It’s nice. I like nappingnapping in the trees. Ohoh!” Her eyes lit up, literally. “I’m Alecto. Youyou?”

She was leaning again, and Maple tried so very hard not to scoot back like she had done the last time. She wasn't sure why though, it wasn't like she could see a way to not dig a deeper hole of showing how utterly pitiful she was. And no, she was not going to hear those sounds. Actually, those were alright. This was a forest after all, like one at home and shew knew it was common place for the wild to scamper about.
Most of her attention was just still focused on keeping herself in one piece really with this very chipper ghoul, as well as the fire she controlled. Now, why couldn't she do something as impressive as that? Well, she'd probably burn something down actually.
"I-I w-was t-trying t-to .. find th-the l-library," Maple admitted sheepishly. It was a location among others, but was one of her top priorities. "B-but I e-ended .. up.. ou-outside..." It wasn't such a bad place to find herself at least. And by the looks of it, she could see how Alecto would find it a comfortable place to nap. It was nice and quiet.
Maple's expression shifted a little to confusion when Alecto mentioned her name again, her head tilting slightly as she observed the other ghoul. Was, there something with her eyes to say it again? "Y-yes, y-you m-mentioned..."
..... was it okay for her to mention that she had said her name? Oh jack, please don't be a bad move. Alecto controlled fire and had claws and beautiful horns, this could go badly if she didn't like what she said. Oh dear....

“Mention whatwhat?” Wide, expectant eyes filled with childish curiosity stared back at Maple. [Because you jacking said your name already, idiot. Get your head in the game.] “Ohoh! I see. We did introductions already. Kaykay, got it!” Her ears stood up straighter, picking up the tiny sounds of creatures scampering in the forest. “Library you saysay?” A clawed hand carefully rubbed her chin while her tail excitedly moved to and fro.
“You ended up outside! That’s funnyfunny,” she giggled earnestly, devoid of pity and malice. “But if you want to findfind the library…hmmm. MegMeg likes the library! MegMeg can take us there, rightright?” Alecto seemed to be staring at herself, glowing eyes focusing on what appeared to be her nose. [Does it look like I have a choice?] The hellhound giggled. “MegMeg says she’ll take us. Stay close kaykay?” The demon ghoul smiled stupidly as she held out a hand for the reaper to grab.
Well, she could always follow the bobbing motes of fire too. Those were pretty obvious.
The smile gradually disappeared, replaced by a scowl. The hellhound’s posture changed, becoming straighter and rigid. Perhaps her voice was even a bit lower than usual, too. Megaera scratched her head. “Stupid Alecto. Come on.” Unlike Alecto, Megaera’s steps were quieter as she walked through the forest.

She seemed to be in the clear for now, even though her creased brows were in still in worried position. Offending someone else was not what she wanted to do, especially if she was unsure if that someone was a demon and not in her first few days of school. But, it would have just been her luck anyways.
At least Alecto seemed to be finding her situation humorous and in good spirits even though Maple herself didn't think of it as such. But, there was a proposition to help her find the library and allowing another to lead the way would have more promising results. "D-do w-we have t-to g-go.. f-find th-this.. M-meg.. m-meg?" The young witch asked, hesitantly reaching to the offered hand.
And then quickly regretting it. At least her question was answered, in some retrospects. Maple found herself tensing under that scowl and the shift in demeanor as realization dawned upon her. "S-so.. y-you're..." Urg, she had no idea how to phrase her question without sounding even more stupid. For a beat she was silent as she followed, biting her lower lip and pondering, "T-two.. p-personalities?" Hopefully that didn't sound horrible as it did as she said it, "Ihhopeitsokokaytoask." Please don't dissapate her!

“You don’t have to find ‘MegMeg’ because she’s right here,” she answered flatly, ears pointed downward and a clawed hand firmly perched on her waist while she continued to lead them out of the forest. Occasionally, Meg would raise her other arm to push away a branch. “And I would rather you call me Meg or Megaera. Alecto just has this stupid thing about repeating words.” And then the canine fell into a brief, mumbled rant that the other ghoul would have trouble hearing, but obviously involved cursing and berating the main personality.
“It’s actually three, not two. There’s me, Alecto, and Tisiphone. Set of three because of that three-headed dog myth. Cerberus, if I recall correctly. Although some say Cerberus wasn’t actually a three-headed dog to begin with, but brothers.” She shrugged. “I don’t care about what kind of stuff you ask as long as they don’t piss me off.” Which was a rather vague answer, to be honest.
Her boots clacked quietly against the concrete at first when they exited the forest. She paused, giving the area a long sweep before nodding in a direction. “The library’s this way; come on. What was your name, again? Maple? If you bother to be friends with this dumbo, try to excuse her stupidity. I’d step in more, but it’s just too much of a hassle.” Her forked tail whipped back and forth, suddenly irritated.

Even in the dim setting of the forest, Maple was glad she was still able to see her companion given her lighter steps. She was more stealth than her... other self, but where there was that careful grace there lacked a bit more. For one thing, a few of the branches this Megaera was pushing aside were often snapping back into the witch's face. Ducking didn't help, they'd just hit her horns instead. Endure, Maple... endure. "Aa!"
Which really could have also been an exclamation regarding Meg's explanation, though she was rubbing her cheek where a few leaves hit. The myth, or perhaps just information, about Cerberus had been mentioned in a few books she found herself reading from time to time; short blurbs like in most of the demonology and monsterology books. But the concept of the three headed dog being three personalities in one or even simply three brothers was a bit new to her, it was fascinating to say the least. And explained her companion in such simple terms (and made her wonder what the third was like). There were several other questions milling around in her mind, and Meg didn't seem to mind so much about them as she was told but... well, Maple still hesitated in asking them as she followed her onto the proper path back to school. The witch liked learning about things, but not at the cost of angering someone.
Her brown eyes flicked to the direction where Meg pointed out, a frown spreading on her lips upon realizing where they would be going; she had gone that way too. Completely missed it! "Yes, Maple," she nodded as she considered her next questions carefully. The canine ghoul seemed agitated, and for what reasons she wasn't sure. Over Alecto or even her? (Please don't be her). "Is... Alecto the d-dominate p-personality?" Please don't dissipate her for asking, she was the first one she met.Syusaki Gosh, took me long enough :C

She heard Maple behind her, but Megaera casually continued forward. The ghoul turned her head slightly to glance at the reaper’s reaction, and after thinking it over for a moment she added, “There’re a lot of hellhound clans. Some are a lot like Cerberus and others not so much. Cerberus is just one of many hellhound myths, anyways.” Megaera raised a clawed hand and somehow snapped her fingers to conjure a crackling sphere of fire. “After all, no one ever said Cerberus could make fire.” Lips curled into a rare smile, but it was nothing like Alecto’s usual doofy grin. This one seemed more sinister, as if she was secretly plotting something. “My family’s very good with fire.”
The smile disappeared. “She is,” the demon answered curtly, turning her gaze forward again. She continued toward the library, forked tail flicking back and forth all the while. “A rather stupid dominant personality, but the dominant one nonetheless. She’s not bothering you too much, is she?” Then she mumbled, “At least she doesn’t bother you as much as she bothers me.” The hellhound continued to grumble as they neared the library, the very tips of its rooftop appearing in the distance.chirigami sorry for the short post orz
