It was grey outside. Again.

It was cold. Again.

It was foggy. Again.

Everything was very gross.

These thoughts were only a few that were coursing through the mind of one Xavier Hollow as he slouched across the grounds of Amityville High, hands in his pockets, head bowed against the wind. His dark hair whipped about his face, which was, he decided, very, very irritating.

Xavier, utterly clueless to any sort of mysterious goings on happening at his own school, was making his way back towards his dorm after having spent most of the day in the library. It was probably useless - he was just going to fail, anyway - but seeing as how he had nothing else to do...

"Guess I'll just acckkktththpppppttttt."

He probably should have paid more attention to what he was doing, since Xavier's foot hit something on the ground - a root, perhaps - and the very next second he was tumbling forward, straight down into the ground and -

Splat. Faceplant into the ground. How very like him.

Xavier did not bother to get up. What was the point he was just going to fall again anyway.

"Oh."

Makoto, who had been so very casually exuding the sort of passive cheerfulness that should not have existed on such a dreary day, looked down. Instead of hard stone beneath his foot as he'd expected, there was now a body.

How - hmm, - fascinating.

The Inugami flexed his foot a few times, prodding the soft skin beneath the thick layers of cloth. "What a fascinating place to put yourself." He mused with the air of a madman thoroughly fascinated with a fresh chew toy. "Tell me, do you like it down there? Is there something interesting that has prevented you from getting up? Hmm."

Without preamble - which, with Makoto, there was none no matter what the circumstances - the demon flexed his hands, tucking his arms neatly together beneath the long sleeves of his kimono and sat on the Raum.

Yes, Xavier. You have just been demoted to a chair.

The Inugami settled himself onto the small of Xavier's back, and after peering around from his new perch, bent over until his upper body was nearly perpendicular with the Raum's, and the tip of his chin rested on the top of Xavier's poor head, between his horns, his long red hair spilling over the poor students head.

"Well," He rumbled, raising his brows, "I must admit, at least you are a comfortable perch, though your choice in resting positions is quite - aaah - profound."

Maybe if he lay here long enough the world would stop sucking. Maybe. Just maybe.

At least until somebody stepped on him. Because why not, that was just how his life went, he was just the type of guy to get stepped all over, literally, and really it wasn't that much of a surprise except ow that foot prodding him hurt a little.

"I don't see the point of getting up," said Xavier morosely, his voice muffled by the fact that his face was still planted in the grass. "I'm just going to fall again so what's the point."

Although maybe if he get up he could manage to get back to his dorm and then if he fell he'd be safe indoors. Maybe.

Or not. Besides, things couldn't really get worse, could they.

Nope, they could.

He was now being sat on. Xavier felt the weight of the boil settle on top of him, something poking into the top of his head (was that his chin), and then he felt most of the air in his lungs whoosh out, Xavier giving a grunt of surprise.

"I guess I've just been designated as a chair," he mumbled. "It's not like I'll ever be anything better in life."

"What a fascinating outlook on life." Makoto replied with candid cheerfulness, his tail wagging back and forth and bumping Xavier every single time. "But you see, perhaps if you were to continuously fall, you might at least provide entertainment for others in your continued misery, seeing as you seem to provide - ah - little else."

Leaning back so that was settled straight on Xavier's back like some sort of creepy zen master (read: axe murderer), Makoto glanced around, quickly growing bored of the scenery. "You have chosen such a boring place to lay anguish and despair upon though." He criticized quietly, tugging on the Raum's horns in mild interest.

When Xavier bemoaned his position as a chair, Makoto merely chuckled, though there was a brief sound of absolute contempt in his tone before it turned light and abstruse again. "Yes," He said cheerfully, "and what a splendidly pitiful thing to be. Ah - but one might mistake you as a lowly monster with how bleak your outlook on life seems to be." He shrugged one shoulder. "No matter though, no matter. You'll make an excellent - ahhh - chew toy, if little else."

His tone seemed nearly too cheerful to be anything but dangerous. After all, Makoto's chew toys were rarely things to be envied. Rather, they were the sort of things that one would kill themselves before becoming if given the choice.

"Now," Makoto practically purred, "I believe introductions are in order. Apart from being particularly miserable, you are?"

Don't do it, Xavier. Run away while you still have the chance. Run away.

"It's not fascinating," said Xavier delicately. Well. As delicately as one could possibly speak when one's face happened to be smushed into the ground and there was a complete stranger using you as their own personal armchair. "It's merely the - ow - truth. As for entertaining people, I sincerely doubt that. I am not, as you say, all that interesting."

"And I didn't choose this place, I just happened to fall here, there is a difference and I'll thank you to remember that."

He felt hands on his horns and winced a little, feeling the tug. But it was not as if telling the other to stop would make much difference he would probably just do it anyway.

The quip about being a monster though...Xavier lifted his head, a small pout that was half a scowl on his face. "I am not," he said. "a monster. How rude. I'm a demon, even if I am a poor excuse for one."

He sniffed, completely missing the comment about being a chew toy (oops, was that important?) and tried to give the person on top of him (who he couldn't even see, really, except for a load of red hair that kept getting in his face) a disgruntled look.

Then he went back to face-in-ground.

"Xavier," he mumbled. "My name is Xavier."

PostPosted: Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:25 pm

"That's a subjective sort of thing though, wouldn't you think?" Makoto fiddled with Xavier's head distractedly, beginning to braid the long strands together between his fingers. "Ah, very subjective indeed. Maybe for other people you are - aaah - disinteresting. Maybe your face is all wrong to some - or your eyes are too -" He picked up Xavier's head and tilted himself down into a contorted bend of limbs and bones to examine the eye color before dropping the boil's head again. "Too red. Or you're simply not their brand of entertainment." He smiled, the rows of his teeth white against the tan of his skin. "That is - to some."

He chuckled at the Raum's next choice of words, his tail curling back and forth like a pendulum. "I remember what I want - if there is really anything important to remembe at all." He continued braiding until he was satisfied by his work, giving each new decoration a sharp tug.

"Hmm." Xavier's words - as well as most of the things he did - seemed to have little effect on Makoto's disposition, and after another long pause, the boil shifted off of Xavier and got to his feet, and without any preamble, reached down and yanked Xavier up as well.

"If you insist." Xavier quipped in amusement, his ears inclining towards the poor Raum. For a moment longer, he gave the poor boy a once over before circling his claws around the boil's upper arm and hauling him off in a seemingly random direction.

"What a positively boring name." Makoto responded, glancing back at his companion with a look of mocking pity. It quickly, however, dissolved into something nearly akin to calm lunacy. "But seeing as we are all friends here, you may call me by my first name - Master."

Whether he was joking or not was completely up to Xavier to decide.

"Subjective to what, exactly," said Xavier, either ignoring the other braiding his hair or not really caring either way. Chances are it was probably the latter. "And I'm quite certain I am disinterested, my face is wrong, and my eyes are - ow, that really sort of hurts, you know, can you please let go now - too red, as you say."

It was probably not a good thing to be getting into anything with this sort of riffraff, but it was not as though Xavier had anything better to do, or anywhere better to go. And considering this was probably going to be the highlight of his otherwise pathetic evening, well...he'd take what he could get.

Even if what he could get was a demon sitting on top of him braiding his hair.

Except it seemed that part of playtime was over, since the next moment Xavier found himself yanked abruptly to his feet. He swayed a little, stumbling unsteadily, but then righted himself, absently brushing a hand down the front of his coat, his hair looking more than a little out of place, a few leaves and feathers caught within the long strands.

He shrank under the scrutinizing eye.

"Er," said Xavier. "That's, er..."

A long pause.

"That's a strange name to be called."

Makoto laughed, a deep, velvety sound that seemed almost amiable. But with him, it was always hard to tell. "Ah, but not to me. Maybe I like the crookedness of your body and the way your ears are wrong and you have the wrong number of feet. Maybe I find that perfect for - ahhh - my brand of entertainment."

His long tail curled back and forth, and he reached out with one clawed hand to grasp Xavier's chin once they were standing, manipulating his head every which way as though to examine the the boil's face. When he was done, he snorted and let his hand fall.

"But very fitting," He responded cheerfully, as though Xavier had agreed to call him that instead. "To you, who is such a poor excuse for a demon, master seems only right to call me." He grinned at the other, his canines flashing beneath the red of his lips. "Isn't that right, little crow?"

He turned and cirled Xavier the one circled a piece of decidedly tasty meat, his tail swinging loosely from side to side before he rumbled and tilted his head.

"Now, now, as fascinating as the ground has been, I believe we should move our meeting somewhere else." He raised a brow at Xavier, "perhaps I can see how balanced you are whilst balancing tea on your head. Or how entertaining you are when you inevitably fall trying to do such a task." He grinned, his eyes almost hungry.

"Lets see what chaos we can get up to."

That laugh was creepy. He wasn't sure about that laugh. Of course he would manage to run into the one person who was probably a psychopath. Not that Xavier was about to run away because well, what was the point anyway.

"My body is not crooked," said Xavier delicately, smoothing a hand down the front of his coat again and attempting to stand taller, straightening his shirt, shuffling his feet. "And wait, how are my ears wrong? You can hardly see them."

Heavy fingers gripped his chin, finding himself jerked upwards. He winced a little, but didn't pull away, sighing melodramatically and waiting patiently until the other demon's examination was done.

Whenever that was.

"How is it fitting," said Xavier blandly. "You're not...I mean...well, of course you're right, I mean I am a very poor excuse for a demon, I'm not entirely certain why I am the way I am, I just sort of suck, I suppose, it's really very pathetic, but having a master seems a little, I don't know, too much?"

There was a long moment of silence in which the other circled him and Xavier merely stared at him.

"....er," he said. "Chaos? What sort of chaos."

Yes, Xavier had the bad luck to run into not only a psychopath, but a psychopath with the looming intent to turn his new partner into a manservant and source of personal entertainment for god only knew how long. Makoto's lips curled up into a viciously hungry grin, looking more like a starved dog than a proper FEAR creature for a split second.

"How would you know?" Makoto questioned in the sort of tone that suggested no matter what Xavier said, he was most certainly crooked to the Inugami. "I can guess." He nudged the boy with a foot, and then a tail, his ears waving every which way imaginable. "Everything about you is simply wrong in some way, perhaps contributing to the fact that you are not only a poor excuse for a demon, but a clumsy creature at that." He grinned lazily to himself. "Hmmm. Perhaps we should fix that about you. I would enjoy to take you apart - then again, you are not as easily... ah, able to be taken apart as TK, considering that he is undead and you are this."

His head tilted to one side and then the other, considering Xavier as though he were a painting Makoto was trying to hang. "No, it is enough." He insisted mildly without even bothering to look at Xavier, rubbing his chin between his forefinger and thumb. "Being and admitting to being such a sad creature, I can see little purpose for you in life but to entertain me." He smiled, looking up at Xavier with that sly, lazy sort of hunger that seemed more animalistic than human. "Come now, I'm sure you would sound adorable saying master to me, little crow. But if you are so obdurate, Reizei-sama will do." Makoto laughed, his cheerfulness a sort of sinister sound in the hollows of his throat. "Even though such a little crow like yourself deserves nothing of the sort."

Growing suddenly impatient of their lack of motion, Makoto reached out and siezed Xavier by the collar, and without any sort of proper manners, ducked and hauled the crow over his shoulder like a sack of particularly stubborn potatoes.

"The proper sort of chaos." Makoto said, making his way with languid ease towards the dorms. "I can dangle you from ceilings and balance pots of tea on your head and fix your gangly limbs and teach the proper way to address me. Aah, and that is only the tip of the iceberg."

The way this was going --- Xavier didn't stand a chance at lasting it through the night.

Poor Xavier. Your life was so much better before you met Makoto.

He supposed this should have been an indication of things to come. After all, the first person he had met at school had turned out to be a rather overly...exuberant...werewolf, and while Xavier hadn't exactly been afraid of her (or even the one standing in front of him, for that matter), he was wondering if this was some sort of strange, unintentional pattern he was now going to be following: meet dog creatures, get friend(s)(?) or, at the very least, chaos.

"Well," said Xavier, wilting a little. "Clumsy is a bit of a...a flat term, I suppose..."

The hound was laughing again, though he wasn't entirely certain why. There was a ferality to his tone, something sharp in his eyes that made Xavier slightly tense, as though he were some sort of prey to be had.

Or maybe that was just it all along.

With a sudden jerk of his collar, he had little time to even react properly with a startled gasp before he was hoisted up and over the boil's shoulder, his legs dangling down the other's front, his face smacking rather ungracefully into the boil's back.

He rubbed his nose.

"I'm not sure I like the whole 'dangling from ceilings' thing," said Xavier. "And define, er, proper.
Please tell me you're not going to hit me or anything......"

"Ah, and what a boring word flat is." Makoto laughed in return, his smooth tone a sign of either devious plotting or sheer amusement at Xaviers expense. It seemed that crow was now being considered a toy; a caged little bird to play a tune to whatever Makoto deemed worthy as a prop. Whether it be open fire or pit full of landsharks.

His long tail curled back and forth as he balanced Xavier over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, wandering towards the demon dorms as though nothing was out of the usual. "Are you afraid of heights or do you just imagine you'd make a poor chandelier?" Makoto returned mildly, examining his free hand with lazy interest.

"Oh," Makoto found the dorms a few minutes later, his ears perking up as he dragged Xavier inside. "No. Physical violence is the sort of barbaric entertainment that only our demon friends seem interested in tolerating. I have far greater plans in mind for you."

His lips curled into a smile that could cut a man in half.

"Tell me, have you ever fancied yourself good at juggling knives, little crow?"

Being carried like this really wasn't all that comfortable, Xavier decided. He didn't really have a good view of anything except the demon's back and the back of his legs and some other part of him that he really didn't care to look at right now.

"I'm not afraid of heights," he said hesitantly, and frowned. "I can fly, can't I? Well...that would be normal to assume about me, I suppose, that I would be a terrible flyer, considering that I'm terrible at everything else, so one would assume that I would be terrible at this..."

He trailed off, realizing just where they were headed, and squirmed a little on the other's shoulder (whose name he still did not know, but who calling "Master" seemed more than a little unprecedented), trying to weasel his way out of the demon's grasp, which was iron tight.

"I don't know, I've never tried can I leave now please."

The last part was almost a whimper, Xavier's hair falling into his face.

"No," Makoto replied breezily and without a beat, "even if you do not want to be a chandelier, I still need a stand-in for - ahh - my servant of the day."

Aka Shoji had gone off setting things on fire again and he needed someone to prepare tea for him.

"We'll start slow though." Makoto said, as though he were sentencing Xavier to some sort of punishment in hell. "The big acts can come later. And there is no reason for you to leave." Makoto grinned wolfishly. "You've nowhere better to be, and the dirt will not be missing you any time soon."

Upon struggling, Makoto simply changed his hold on Xavier.

Which meant that when they entered the demon dorms for all to see, Xavier was not slung over the Inugami's shoulder.

Nope.

He was being carried princess style.

Welcome to hell, Xavier.

"...a servant."

It was said sort of flatly, but mostly with a healthy dose of bemusement, Xavier staring blankly at the back of the demon's shirt and trying to decipher what the real meaning behind the term "servant" was and wondering whether or not it was a bad thing.

...it was a bad thing.

"Er," said Xavier, now staring up at his captor's smug face, rather than his back - which was a nice change, he thought, except now he could see all of that smugness, rather than just hear it from the tone of his voice. He wasn't entirely certain about being carried this way since he...wasn't...a...ghoul...but maybe no one would see.

Or not.

"Er, define 'acts,'" said Xavier, in a very small voice.
