The hands of the bouncer were firm as Eithan felt himself being escorted out through the back double doors. There was no point in drying to dig his feet into the ground or whine, he would have preferred to turn around and smack him a good one. "Listen pal..." Eithan started as he began to feel the grasp lighten.
"This time don't come back kid!" He heard the words as his body hit the hard concrete of the alley and the door slammed behind him. Eithan stood and turned, spitting a bit and placing both hands in his pockets. "Yeah well screw you too!" He wiped his hand over his face, rubbing off some dirt and wandered down the alley.
It was first time in a long time he'd managed to get into an official casino. Albeit a sleezy one at that, but he still had wanted to at least make it to a Blackjack table before getting cast out.
It was all for not and he straightened himself back up, kicking a nearby trashcan over and continuing on his way. "If he'd tried that and I was bigger the big lug would be under my feet, no doubt. Always takin' a shot at the little guys just trying to enjoy themselves." He was muttering under his breath as he walked, coming out onto another street somewhat deserted.
"Ah great, not even the street guys are out here." It was a frustrated sentence as there was usually at least one table with a cup and ball game somewhere around these parts. It'd probably got late enough that even the scamming guys would be gone.
"And here I even bothered to break away from home just for this." He spit again, slouching and walking in no particular direction. "No justice I tell ya."

He didn't know what had brought him to this part of the city, it was one he avoided and had never actually come to, but here he was. This part of the city was a slum that normally he wouldn't even consider venturing into, why would he lower himself to such an area? But it was a slow night and he almost wanted to keep it that way, no run in's with senshi or knights and he didn't need to stock up on energy either.
So tonight was really just a walk around a slum of the city. He'd been wandering for a while, he'd lost track of time really, and the whole time ignored those around him whom many would consider dangerous. He'd felt confident enough, in himself, to walk on the side walk all powered up with a cape fluttering out behind him as he walked. His posture straight and nose up in the air he wasn't worried of someone attacking him, he could more than handle it, and if someone called the cops he could easily avoid them. It would just go down as a sighting of one of the many terrorists who plagued the city. Perhaps it was that which had kept him safe on his wandering, either way no one made to attack him.
But it seemed things were slowing down, less people on the streets, and as he turned onto a nearly deserted street it was slate eyes which first noted the person. A teenager, unless it they just looked young for their age, who seemed in a rather foul mood. Smirking he made his approach, raising his voice as he headed there way.
"A bad evening?" A simple question, but there was a mischievous note to his words.

Eithan had been so busy muttering to himself he had somehow failed to notice the caped figure on the block. It was like a shock to his system as he glanced up, noticing him coming near him. "What the hell-" He stopped dead in his tracks and his eyes narrowed. "And what's it to you, eh?"
He'd met some strange people in this part of town, that was something he was certain of, but a long haired guy wearing a cape of all things? There was a disbelief in his eyes as the boy got closer until they were near enough to see. "Ah, so you are a guy. From far away you kinda look like a girl." It was amusing to see someone all dressed up on the street, but something in his eyes wasn't quite right.
Something there was dangerous.
"Hey, but if you wanna look like a broad it's your own thing." He said with a shrug, moving to step around the strange dude. "You're right about one thing, I ain't having a good evenin' and should probably be left alone." His eyes seemed to glint and he moved his shoulders back to as straight as he could stand. He hadn't had much of a shot at the over-sized bouncer, but some strange guy out on the street was a much different story. But it didn't seem right the way he was, the timing, the outfit.
"Don't let me get in the way of whatever the hell night you were having though." He continued with another shrug.

"A simple question, nothing to become upset over, I assure you." Holding up his gloved hands. For someone who appeared as young as he did he knew he was dressed oddly, stood out too no doubt. But despite how odd his clothing was he rather liked them, always had, in fact he was proud of his uniform even.
"I've only had one other say they thought I was a girl, though I suppose other people think it and simply don't say it - don't much have the time in most cases." Shrugging as he spoke casually.
Watching the other he moved aside to let him pass, turning to watch the others back he moved to follow him then. Heels giving away that he was indeed following the other, a stalker perhaps? Or was he looking for something? Even the blond himself wasn't sure to be honest. "Is it simply the hair that makes me look female? If it's the uniform I assure you I had no choice in picking it, though as it's also a sign of rank I wouldn't change it either." He suspected it was just the hair but what he wanted to do was bait the other, see if he could peek his curiosity.
"Left alone? Why? I don't think there is anything you could do which I couldn't handle to be honest. It takes quite a bit to intimidate me ." And he left the rest of that sentence unsaid, did he even need to say it? It should be pretty obvious where that was going.
As he caught up to the other, moving at his side now, he glanced over to him. "Your not in my way, I assure you." No, but he might just be in the others way. And that was on purpose.

Eithan rolled his eyes and shook his head, preparing to step off of the curb when his words pulled him back, turning to face him. He was an odd guy that was for certain, but something in his words - a certainty of something that he knew.
"What do you mean, rank?" He said curiously, taking a tentative step back towards the man. Was he talking about? "Do you mean like, cause of where you work?" He looked over the outfit again, a little more closely but it still just seemed like something too far out of the ordinary for something like that. Something in his eyes wasn't letting up.
"Alright fine." Eithan said, smiling at him slyly. "I'll give you my ear for a minute, what exactly are you talking about?" He was wary and tilted his head. "You seem real full of yourself, so go on and say what you're gonna and we'll see what happens after that." He seemed like a loon straight out of something, but what the hell - not like he had anything better to do right now.

[coor=navy]"You could call it work...if you wish. It certainly is similar to having a job, though with more risks than most jobs." Came the responce, simple and yet telling - hinting. This was a game of speaking and saying things but not being right in your face which he liked, it was a game he saw played out often at social functions. It was a game he could play, when he wanted. He wasn't nearly as good as many people at those functions but in this case he could play. He was being honest, and blunt, really he was just wrapping his words nicely.
"Hmm...I assume you've seen the news reports, for years, on the terrorist issue plaquing this city? As I doubt you've lived under a rock." Saying this with something of a smile twisting his lips. As he stood there he shifted his weight and let his arms fold over his chest. "Not all of the people they label as terrorists are such, there are of course terrorists in this city - no doubt. But some of the people they are labeling as such are vigilanties - if you will. I would say protecting the city is a job of sorts, wouldn't you?" The question came followed by a slight tilting of his head, allowing ash blond hair to fall across his face.
Brushing his hair back he watched the other. "As I said though, there are risks. But benefits..power. Power to match their power." It was that power, what he'd thus far earned, which had him confident in himself and his ability to remain safe here. "I could show you..and even offer you a small bit of it. For more you'd need to prove yourself and earn it. It doesn't come simply." And now the blond fell silent and waited, watched, and kept his eyes on the other. He would soon find out whether the Ngaverse would have a new member or if he'd be leaving him here, or maybe it would turn into a fight and someone would wind up drained or..dead.

It was a long silence as he stared blankly, his bright blue eyes thinking it over. His legs shifted and he crossed his arms as well, looking back at the other with a cold stare. Initially anything he said was going to be put aside into the "crazy rambling" side of Eithan's brain, which he would have waved off and gone back to wandering around aimlessly. Some part of him still wanted to ignore it all, shrug it off in that fashion and continue along his merry way. And yet his legs remained planted and he hadn't really budged.
Curiosity was getting the better of him in this instance. He lifted an eyebrow in intrigue. "So these people that run around at night, you're part of whatever that is? Your.. job, if I'm not mistaken?" Eithan watched for response in body language, but got none. "Of course I've heard of it, they talk about it all the time and rumors of people disappearin' and all." He shrugged.
It was talking of power that actually made the young boy make eye contact. "Yeah, what kind of power?" He asked after a moment. Aware and intrigued he was, but also wary. It wasn't like those wigged out drug dealers where he could easily pinpoint the aim of the other person and walk off or give them a piece of his mind with a punch to the face. He was being drawn in by this guy by his words, which was odd for him but he went with it. There was nothing normal about this man in the way he was dressed, that was for certain as Eithan still thought he belonged in a Renaissance fair or something of the like, but the confidence in which he spoke and the manner in which he carried himself were above just the outside appearance.
"I guess you know something I don't, otherwise you wouldn't talk about it like that." He finally said, moving a little closer to him and looking him in the eyes. "So then let's see what you got. I'm game." His eyes glinted as he grinned. Even if it was nothing more than just words, he could probably pummel the guy and that would be worth it enough. Internally though he wanted to believe it though, some sort of power he could get a hold of. Maybe then he could stop being considered the "little guy".

"Yes, people disappearing - a rather unfortunate thing provided they are simple civilians. Though some have returned from their disappearing acts." The ones from space had thankfully returned, even though they had died first. What it must be like to die and to return and know you'd died, to have been in the situation and place they'd been in right before it and the sights and sounds around them. It was truly a horror of this war; just like the chibi senshi were a horror.
"Mmm, I have power you wouldn't have just yet - if you decide to join. But I can show you what you could earn in time." That mischievous look was back upon his features and a glimmer entered those slate hued eyes. Oh, he had this one and it wasn't even that hard. But it was entertaining none the less. And it was something earned with time, as you really needed to work up to it, that he showed him. Stepping back from the suddenly now closer teen Benitoite held out his gloved hands, a rather odd and empty action. But it wasn't empty as there was more to the gesture than just that, a lot more, his hands soon held a large weapon which had appeared out of seemingly no where.
"This is one thing which comes in time. Like the uniform you gain it is not the same for everyone, I personally think the uniform is suited to each individual whether subconsciously or not. The weapon suits the person as well and changes, evolves as you gain in power, the uniform changes as well." He spoke, deciding it was time to give him some information - proper information - instead of talking in round about teasing terms.

He was listening, far more intently than he had been before. Eithan didn't speak, just continued to listen and watched as his hand moved out. Did he want a handshake or something? Eithan was about to open his mouth to give him some sort of smart-a** remark then stopped, jumping slightly backwards at the appearance of a weapon. Not even a regular weapon, but something huge.
Eithan could barely believe his eyes and he stared at it, coming closer to him again. "Damn!" He said, out of both surprise and somewhat excitement. "Now you've got my attention." He said, eyes flitting back to watch the slate eyes of the other. Inside he was boiling with a sort of excitement he couldn't even describe. For a moment he calmed, glad for once he hadn't started swinging his fists around. He was certain it wouldn't have ended well for him.
"I see." He was trying his best to actually pay attention now. "So you get stronger as you go." Eithan muttered to himself, looking back at the weapon. Think of what he actually can do with something like that.. He felt he was getting a little ahead of himself, not minding for just the moment until the pressing question came to his mind.
"So from the look of it all, you're pretty high up there. In whatever "it" might be called." Blinking, his head tilted. "It's not something I've seen or even might believe come tomorrow morning when I wake up, but it sounds pretty big." There was that curious glint back and he continued to eye the weapon in his hands. "So what do you do with power like that? Doubt you just run around like Dungeons and Dragons swinging things around, otherwise I think people woulda noticed."

"No, you are correct. Though the news has seen some things. The lights flying from person to person, looking like a poor - although very real - attempt at reproducing the duels seen in Harry Potter. Those would be the senshi, as they are called. Senshi are the enemy, along with knights, if I were to explain just what they are I fear I might make you think me crazy. However it is quite true - I can assure you." Yes, because speaking of the souls of aliens being reincarnated here on Earth was very insane sounding. The problem was that it was horribly, terrifyingly, true.
"What we do is fight them, the senshi and the knights. We are at war." The last four words were simple, even, and serious. The weapon he had in his hands vanishing as though it had never been there. "We cannot use magic, as they do, but we have our weapons and in some cases we can teleport." Which made catching up to a senshi easy but it also allowed for them to escape if need be, as much as he disliked the idea of ever doing so.
"I could, if it interests you of course, offer you a place within the Negaverse - a Lieutenant." By now he was sure the other would accept, he seemed too interested not to. It seemed power attracted the other, among other things. "If you join you'll have a new name, one you go by only like this. I am Benitoite, a General."

"War huh?" When he heard the word war there wasn't much that he thought of besides what he learned in history books. He'd heard of a few turf wars happening in the seedier parts of town, but his experience or knowledge on the entire matter was lacking. It was irresponsible of him, but he rather shrugged off the idea, listening as he continued to explain.
"So they're against you guys? Sounds like a bunch of twats." He couldn't wrap his head around what they were, besides considering them to be some sort of magical fairies which clearly were messing with the wrong sort of people. It was odd but he was feeling far more inclined towards people like the one in front of him.
"Negaverse?" He asked, tilting his head again. Eithan grinned again. "Lieutenant huh? I like the sound of that." He blinked. "Ah, General. So you'd be my superior then?" He was liking the sound if it, being a part of something with like minds. "Yeah... yeah I like that. Could probably do it." His blue eyes lit up. "So what do you do, aside from go to war? Gotta know what you're signing before you sign up, wouldn't you agree?"

"You make it sound so...trivial. It's anything but, this is far more serious. Though I suppose you wouldn't get that without knowing the whole story." And with how odd that sounded. He almos wanted to bring him into the fold, let him feel the proof to his words, before explaining things. Let him feel how serious things were when he sunk his hand into his chest and grasped his starseed.
"I would agree, although telling the back story I think would be best after you join. I can however tell you a bit of what your in for." Motioning with his head for the other to follow him. He didn't care to stay in one place too long while he was trying to bring someone into the fold, he didn't need someone to show up and ruin this. Moving past the other he kept his pace slow and even. "I'd rather we walk and talk. They can sense me if they get near enough, although I'd be able to sense them as well. I'd rather no one from the opposing side turn up and attempt to interrupt this discussion." And possible, and very likely, recruitment.
"As I said this is war and so death and injuries should of course be expected." Turning his eyes on the other as he spoke the next words. "I've killed several on the other side. I'll do it again as well, I know it. I've also been in the hospital for injuries, you should learn to lie to doctors well." That was something he still was no good with. He just didn't like it, though he could certainly stretch the truth or omit things. Flat out lying was not Benitoite's thing, at all.
"I've been to space, so have others in the Negaverse. Unfortunately, so were several civilians who died but by some miracle were brought back. How that occurred I can't say although I am pleased by it. So, suffice to say that you can expect the unexpected so it's best to be prepared for everything. I'd say seek answers, question and talk to others on our side. Ask them about experiences; you'll learn that way and better prepare yourself." Smiling at the red haired teen he got to the corner and with no cars in sight he crossed.
The whole matter of rank had been ignored in favor of informing the other the best he could, it would do no one any good if the other wasn't informed and joined and then got spooked or something.
"As a whole it's life altering - joining the Negaverse." And anything more, about factions and such, he would fill him in on once he joined. No point in telling him about those if he wasn't going to join. The knowledge would be useless to him, though useful if he decided to go talking to people of the white moon.

There was a sharpness to his tone Eithan didn't care much for, but he followed regardless and listened to him talk. As they walked and the more Benitoite said the more serious the situation seemed to be. In his words Eithan could hear the truth laden throughout them. At the mention of killing all the younger boy could do was imagine his weapon again. It was a chilling thought and the lighthearted glimmer abandoned him nearly immediately.
"It really is like that then." He said, his tone marked down and he continued to follow as close as he could. Though the air seemed to be heavier around them, he was still intrigued. Injuries, Death... The words weren't leaving his head and as they got to the corner he continued after him, almost beckoned by the continuing conversation.
"Space?" He muttered, kind of taken aback by the idea entirely. His mind wanted to shut it out immediately as the conversation turned into something out of left field. People coming back from the dead? Eithan shook his head, concentrating on the idea placed in front of him. It was a lot to take in, but despite there being a rising fear gained from Benitoite's words, he couldn't let the idea go.
After several long minutes Eithan stopped, looking back at Benitoite with a sort of ambition in his eyes. He'd listened for a long while and his mind hadn't stopped thinking ever since the entire idea had been put into words. Eithan could be considered dense about some things. He had a hot temper sometimes and didn't even bother telling most people anything about himself aside from his name, and at first hadn't considered consequences of joining something where they could pull weapons out of thin air.
It was far different than just getting into fights around school. The scar on his forehead was a reminder of a fight, not his worst injury but the one that stuck with him most of the time. What was being talked about sounded bigger, deadlier. The entire thing sounded big, a lot bigger than he'd ever been himself. "Life altering." He repeated.
Those words were like a light-bulb in his head. For too long he'd not had purpose, not had meaning. There was probably very little he'd be willing to die for. It was all so much more than just himself - here there were other people working for a similar goal. Somewhere to belong. A deeper part of himself wanted to ask for a catch, but was silenced by a yearning he couldn't even explain. It would be a weight with consequences, but it would be something.
"I want in." Eithan said, confidently with a small nod, looking the other boy right in the eyes.

"It is. This is a war for freedom. These senshi and knights would have you think them the good guys when quite the opposite is the case. The origins of this war date long ago and play out like a twisted Romeo and Juliet." It hadn't been a play he'd liked, too sweet and sappy for his taste, and while this version wasn't either of those things it was also disliked by the blond. "Those who we fight like to tell us that they don't support the one who originated this war and yet if they were to return I have little doubt that many would follow, as blindly as they fight for their cause now. They think they are doing some good...or something. Whatever goal they have in mind I don't know, aside from being rid of us. Where as we are fighting for freedom - which means removing them." And by removal he really meant by any means necessary, kill them or corrupt them. He'd not corrupted one but he had killed a few.
"I would say that being brought into this war, especially how it's done, can alter ones life. And if you kill someone it too is life altering. No one fights in this war without their life being changed - which is why the fact the other side has pre-teens fighting for them is abhorrent and horrible - to put some words to it." He still couldn't get over that, children who belonged in middle school fighting! They should be safely tucked into bed with a night light on, not out at night fighting and roaming the streets.
He knew the other would accept and nodded when he spoke those two damning, and yet freeing, words. "I would suggest somewhere comfortable. The old saying of baptism by fire sort of applies. No fire involved but it does hurt, each promotion hurts as well. I won't lie about it. The pain is different levels for everyone, I'm sure, due to pain tolerances. But you could also call it euphoric, freeing, or just beyond words with what the power entering you can be. But it's the fact my hand will be entering your chest and grasping your starseed, in essence your soul, and pushing energy into it which causes the pain. The power though can be a high." And he would prefer the other be comfortable and somewhere seated or where he could lay down. He didn't like how he'd turned the second person, in an alley way. HE hadn't even liked where he'd chosen to corrupt Mariposite, though it was better than an alley way. Thinking about Mariposite reminded him that he should see him soon, perhaps over coffee.
"I'll also need to sit and rest after I do this. For a General it can take a lot of energy from us." So yes, someplace comfortable for the moment would be good. As much as he didn't like the idea, and was wincing and wrinkling his nose mentally, as he said it the words slipped past his lips anyway. "Perhaps a motel room just for the short time. Or something else, if you've anything in mind."

"Wait- they actually use like, children?" Eithan stopped, tilting his head both ways. In what world did that make sense if it was a war. "Damn." He continued, shaking his head a few good times. Eithan could fight if it came to it, he loved it on occasion; killing was something else he wasn't certain of just yet. Freedom sounded like a good reason in theory, but could he take a life when it came down to it?
I bet I could. He thought, though made sure not to voice the concern over it to Benitoite. If he'd already decided then that was how it was going to happen.
His head snapped back to full attention at the mention of the pain. "So you're gonna... stick your hand in my chest?" Eithan blinked, touching his chest with a hand. How the hell does that work? His eyes showed the thought and he shrugged. Searing pain throughout his body wasn't something to be excited about. Not that he couldn't take his share of pain, but coming from inside of himself could be a problem.
"Guess we'll have to see how it goes with me." He put simply, kind of stepping back at his statement. Eithan bit his lip to fight the first smart-a** remark and laughed a little, shaking his head. "Naw, there's another place around here that'd be just fine." He said, nodding his head towards the right of the street. "That bus station's getting renovated but still has some comfy chairs. People don't go in there because they claim there's a security guard, but there never is one."
"That is unless you got your heart set on a room." He couldn't help it and gave a sly smirk before leading himself under a tarp into the building. "Yeah it's clear." Frankly he wasn't sure what to expect now, it all seemed like something out of a dream. There was a lot he clearly wasn't thinking about as he sat on one of the benches near a wall. "Doubt any of those other people would even be around here, ain't ever seen any here." He continued, looking somewhat expectant.
"So then..." He trailed off.
