Okay, so I went to a green witch website for research and right away a chant or song went on about 3 different goddess. Is this normal? And is it okay? o.o;; Just want to be cautious and not unintentionally call a goddess/god near. I know there are plenty of youtube videos, but this song/chant sort of scared me as it was automatic. xD;; Yet I found the song quite appealing, so I'd thought I'd ask before replaying over and over!

We all learned back in the 90's on Geocities that auto-play music was bad. Apparently this latest generation of the internet hasn't remembered this. Nothing pisses me off more than auto-play, and it pretty much guarantees I'll never visit the page again. I just close them. Grumpy old womaning aside - You can listen to chants outside of ritual, like you can listen to hymns. It's praise in a musical form. There are some chants that are invocatory in nature. If the lyrics are about invoking a deity or spirit, you probably don't want to sing along to them, but listening to it probably won't invoke said deity or spirit.

Aw~ Don't wanna listen to all that music from multiple tabs all playing at once? cat_whee Wasn't really on the internet in the 90's but people would do that all the time when I was on Neopets in the 2000's. Should ask my sister if they still do cat_whee

It was a nice song, but it did call 3 goddesses in there. o.o That was what worried me. Lol. Link here~!Also, I'm not singing along even though it is catchy. Haha. x3

I can't hear it as I don't have quicktime installed, but haha omg she uses the word "alot" and spells through with half the letters removed. Also, man, I wish people would learn the word "animism". "Like Native Americans because spirits" just hurts me. OH LAWD HER DEITIES PAGE Quote: e Rhea - Mother of all deities e Herne - horned God of the green wood e Pan - God of joy on Earth e Auriel (Uriel) - archangel of the North, keeper of sacred wisdom LAWD HELP ME

This is what really stuck out to me on the deity page: Quote: e Diana - Goddess of new moon e Selene - Goddess of full moon e Hecate - Goddess of dark moon Isn't the new moon and "dark moon" the same thing? And I don't even want to look closer at the familiars page after what I skimmed over. I think I'll go bury myself in homework now. That or Alice in Wonderland.

I think it's a terminology thing. Here, new moon means the dark moon, but I think some people associate the term with waxing crescent, you know?

Afai can work out it's not really a set tradition, more of a flavour or subtype of witchcraft. It means your craft is centred on things that grow. And um. Green s**t.

Actually New Moon and Dark Moon are different. Dark Moon is the last few days of the waning crescent. New Moon is the first sliver of the waxing crescent's appearance in the sky.

CalledTheRaven I want to link this to out bad websites thread. Must dig that back up. I was actually wondering that last night, if this guild had a thread for bad sites or something to stay away from if you're serious about wicca, which everyone should.. but eh. *shrugs* Red flagged thread? O:
