There had been many instances where Leonora was excited to do something or go somewhere, but today was different. Leonora was beyond excited.

She held a box under her arm. Inside of it was different pieces of wire jewelry that she had made before she moved. Normally, they would have had new homes by now, but Leonora hadn't had time to give away those pieces. Plus, in her down time, Leonora had made more, but she hadn't met enough people since her move that seemed to like jewelry to give them away at all!

Lenora was smiling broadly while she walked up to the building. She had seen a notice on a public board that there was a hand-crafted jewelry meet up. There wasn't a second wasted between when she saw it and when she took a corner of the paper for the address. When she opened the door and stepped in, she could see the glistening of other peoples' work and admired them as she found her own spot.

Eventually, she found a spot in between two others that seemed friendly enough. They had liked her work and offered one piece to both of them. The rest of them, she laid down a soft cloth and then put her pieces on top, ready to give them away to anyone that appreciated them.

It was rare that Winterlynn would go for anything which wasn't real, she liked the real thing when it came to jewelry, but there was some meet up of hand crafted jewelry and you could always see some interesting pieces there. With a tote bag hanging at her side from her left shoulder the dark haired female entered the building, the heels of her black seude booties clicking on the floor, as she glanced about at the tables and displays covered in hand made pieces.

Some of these could be interesting and make nice gifts for people, like her cousins, her mother who would wear hand made or real gold and gemstone jewelry. Maybe she'd even cave in and buy something for herself, as doubtful as it was. Inside her tote bag she had her paycheck for the week, cashed of course, and was willing to pay for some well crafted pieces. She just wasn't willing to spend a lot.

While many people she saw wore pieces of hand made, glass beaded, jewelry she wore none of that. Rather the earrings she wore were sapphire stones set into white gold and styled in a chandelier design. The necklace matched as did the piece of jewelry that was nestled up on top of her head. In other words...she stood out some and had no problem in doing so, even as she went about browsing the tables.

As she came to a cloth covered on run by a cyan haired girl. Already she had purchased a few pieces, ones for cousins and such. While Winterlynn was an only child she had more cousins, aunts, uncles, and second cousins than she knew what to do with. She never bought for them all for the holidays, that bill would give her a heart attack if she were to attempt it. But in her household, really her family, Valentines day was big and everyone got something then. So she was going to make little gifts for everyone and send them all out, like gift or care packages, and these would work well.

"Your work is nice. Prices?"

Leonora had a lot of fun looking around at the different peoples' collections. There was a part of her that wanted to go and look around, but felt like the pieces would probably go to a better home than her. She barely wore her own jewelry, minus the time she became Meru... But that was different story all together.

There were so many people passing by that she didn't notice at first when a black haired woman stopped in front of her own. "Oh! You're interested? They're free to a good home! Just one for now, so I don't give them all to the same people.

She smiled and examined the girl. Leonora noticed that she was wearing a cute sapphire necklace as well as earrings and hairpiece. "Those are definitely real.. Probably really expensive too..." The sapphire was sparkling and it looked quite lovely. Leonora didn't think she'd have any pieces that could top that.

"Hm.. I have a few more pieces in my box..." Leonora pulled out another piece that was blue like sapphire but was a cheaper glass look alike. "Everything was put together by hand. I try to by better quality stone and glass, but sometimes things catch my eye that are out of my price range..."

"Why free? No one takes nothing for something." It simply wasn't normal, and if it was their was always a catch. Winterlynn didn't like catches, she didn't trust people and even less so when there were hidden things she didn't know about (or that she imagined being there).

Listening she nodded her head to the girls words. "These are nice, well made clearly." Inspecting them without touching. A careful eyes inspected the piece being shown to her, it was nice even if it wasn't real. She wasn't here looking for real anyway, especially not for some of the people she was shopping for. She wouldn't dare buy something real for her little cousins, especially the really young ones. "Of course, it's no surprise. I'm sure it's happened to everyone else in this room who makes their own pieces. What is this piece made of? And do you think it something a small child, six years old, would like?" She might work with jewelry all day, or close to it, but it was always good to ask someone else an opinion once in awhile. Not just to give herself a break from thinking but to see what they thought of an item, and what they thought suited certain people, or groups of people, to see what they saw as a trend for a group.

It was a way to learn further, to hear about trends some might be seeing, and perhaps better help her own customers. Even though her own customers would be buying real things if there was a style, or colors, that seemed to be popular she could suggested them. And here or in her own field, and in fashion magazines, she could learn what was trending and the more she heard of something the more she would suggest it herself.

"I wouldn't mind paying, it could go to helping you afford some of those things you see which are out of your range." She said, offering to pay her. While she didn't like paying much for things she also wouldn't take something for free, catches and guilt and such.

Looking over what else she had on her table she glanced to the girl again. "Do you plan to ever work more with jewelry? Maybe a store? Or go into gemology, or repairs, or something else dealing with jewelry?" She questioned the cyan haired girl.

The black haired girl seemed more than displeased with how they were free, but it wasn't like Leonora wasn't used to it. More times than not people have questioned her intentions, but all in all, she just wanted to. "I don't like to sell things I create for fun. It makes it feel like more of a job than a hobby. I already have a job, I don't need another one."

Leonora didn't know how to respond to her question at first. Of course, she knew the answer, but there hadn't been anyone that she had told the truth. She let out a sigh and spoke softly. "Besides the stone and glass... They're all white gold plated. They're better at preventing rust than other materials. I know it's a little expensive, but I'd rather give better quality for those than the stones so they last longer."

She knew that with those words that less people would take them for free. Well, of course, some people would just take them and sell them again, which is why she just pretended that the were just normal silver plated ones. "Please don't tell anyone. I'm really not interested in getting money from people and I fear that they're less likely to accept gifts if they know what they're made of."

Louder this time, she spoke again. "I made this butterfly one not too long ago." She went and pulled it out from it's space in the box. "It's a little bit smaller than the other pieces, and a bit more cute. Maybe she'd like something like this? If not, I also have a small bumble bee piece." Both pieces had bodies and larger wings, with stones intertwined in the body as well as the wings. The glass was clean and sparkled nicely in the light. "It's made of glass, but I'm pretty sure the wiring would protect it!"

When the girl offered to pay again, Leonora shook her head. "Nope. No money, please. I made most of these in my free time before I moved here. I haven't bought new supplies mostly because I'm still waiting for my clinic to pick up. It just opened not too long ago, which is why I'm strapped on cash."

"I've never actually thought of doing that though," Leonora told the girl. "Usually if a design pops into my head, I doodle where ever I can and then make it when I have time."

Ah, so no catch but there was a reason. There was always something behind why people did things. And this one seemed harmless, there seemed to be nothing behind what the girl was saying was her reason.

"I see, that makes sense. No one would list jewelry they like to rust, or to see something they worked on rust. A good decision really." And it was. She hadn't known there was such a thing, or that rusting was an issue - though she shouldn't be surprised either. She would have thought though that all the metals used would be unable to rust, guess she was wrong on the assumption she'd mentally made.

"Of course. I utter a word." With a finger pressed to her lips to indicate that indeed she would keep quite about the girls choice in material.

With her suggestion she looked over the piece, a butterfly, it was very nice and listening to the other Winterlynn nodded her head. "I think my cousin would like a butterfly more than a bumble bee. She's very much a princess." At least as far as the little girl was concerned, and her parents as well. She worked at a clinic, that was very far from working with crafting things. She had pictured something art related to be honest, how many in here did something relating to art in some manner?

"I'll take the piece then. And perhaps you should look into showing your designs to independent jewelry stores? Some of them have a worker who comes in and makes custom pieces. They might find interest in your ideas." It was worth a try and perhaps give the girl more to do, and bring her into doing more with jewelry and creating her works of art.

"Water can definitely be jewelry's worst enemy," Lenora said with a nod and a smile. Before she had started making her own, she had bought a few pieces that looked nice, but were not made for day-to-day wear. They also were not really supposed to be worn in the shower, so Leonora had spent time researching what materials were better in order to know what to buy and eventually what materials to use.

She was glad that, despite their first meeting, Leonora liked the girl. "Thank you, Miss. Oh, I'm Leonora by the way."

Leonora normally would have held out a hand to receive a handshake, but instead she decided to keep helping the girl with the pieces. They were all sturdy, but she still worried about them getting chipped or something. She put the butterfly piece on a small cloth pouch. "Nothing looks wrong with it right? If so, this little velvet pouch should keep it safe until her new owner sees it!"

She was beaming at the thought that her pieces were getting new homes. That was soon joined by a feeling of confusion. Leonora had always liked her pieces, but had never thought of going to jewelry stores. "That's actually something I've never thought about. Making the pieces always just made me happy and never thought of money i could get with it... Haha."

"Do you know any places that might be interested? I'm rather new in town and don't really know people or places..."

"So can yours be in water, or will it damage them? So I know what to tell the person I'll be gifting this piece to?" It was best to ask. "I assume,, given the white gold plating, that it would be alright though not something to do often." Though this was a new area of jewelry for her. The jewelry people made was not materials she was all knowledgeable in. She knew gold and gemstones, platinum, and those sorts of things.

"A pleasure to meet someone else who appreciates, and enjoys, jewelry. I'm Winterlynn." She would have offered a hand as well, to be polite, but the other was busy so she didn't. "No, nothing is wrong with it. My little cousin will love it." And take care of it in a way most little girls took care of their treasures. Meaning it would likely be put on, or in, something soft and into a jewelry box or music box perhaps. And maybe covered with something soft, similar to how a child would cover a small doll.

"That's good. I'll be sure to keep it in my own personal jewelry box, until it's time to present it to my cousin, as well." For added protection. She had a few jewelry boxes herself, as she did own quite a bit of the fine stuff herself.

"You could try some of the smaller jewelry stores. Typically the bigger ones get their pieces from a headquarters of some sort. The smaller ones however might bring in, or hire, people to design and even craft pieces for them. It's now common to have wedding bands without a mounted stone. So people can pick the bands separate from the diamond." And just have the diamond mounted in the band, a mix and match of sorts. "I can, if you want, get the names of some places for you and contact you with their information. I'm sure your designs would be appreciated by those who don't come to places such as this." Give this girl some real materials and tell her to design things and Winterlynn was sure some nice designs could be birthed by Leonora. It would be nice to help someone do something they enjoyed, never mind the fact it involved something Winterlynn enjoyed herself.

"They do it with tattoos you know. I've heard of people selling their art designs to studios to be made into tattoos for other people. I think your designs would translate well."

"Water safe, but you have to dry it off after. Too much moisture really isn't good for any kind of jewelry. Oh!" Leonora rummaged through her things and found some of the soft clothes that would be good for cleaning them. She held them out to Winterlynn. "Just a gentle rub-shine usually does the trick! I have yet to try those... Jewelry cleaning solutions since I've always preferred cleaning them by hand anyways."

"It's very nice to meet you too. I'm glad I'm meeting people here doing what I love! If you said your cousin will like it, I'll take your word for it! I made them to last, but after I give something away, I normally don't see them anymore, so it's hard to check up on!" Leonora laughed gently.

Leonora had to admit the small jewelry stores were really tempting. The only problem was she wasn't sure how much she could actually invest since she had just started a business of her own. "That is something I'll definitely look into. At least once anyways!"

She wasn't sure how she felt about the tattoos, since Leonora wasn't really an advocate for body art, but it was interesting enough. Though her curiosity did grow, but not about the jewelry anymore. "Out of curiosity, what do you do? You're very knowledgeable about all of this!"

"I see, thank you." Taking the cloth from the other and looking it over. She was used to all the 'proper' things including those sonic cleanings they did with certain pieces of jewelry. This whole self made jewelry thing was new to her.

"If I see you again I'll assure you of the pieces status." Winterlynn added after a moment, wondering if she should even say such a silly thing.

"Me? I work at a jewelry store and I'm going to school for gemology. So I'm learning about everything I can." It was, in part, what had brought her here. It was another part of jewelry and something new to learn. "I'll be sure to look for you at other events like this." And to keep an eye out for more events like this. She would come back, even if this jewelry wasn't her sort of thing it would work for other family members, and to check on Leonora.

(I think we can work them out as being acquaintances/friends from this rp and in the future have a run in or two or something else dealing with jewelry. But you can wrap this up with your post if you'd like. Sorry for taking so long.)

"Oh really? That sounds wonderful!" Leonora admired what Winterlynn knew and what she would learn. "Maybe someday I'll stop by where you work and learn from you! Though I doubt I'd be able to afford anything!"

Leonora smiled and waved. "I'll be sure to come to more events like this! Hope to see you again soon!"
