((Part 2 of Clyde's backstory SRPs))

He had gone on more exciting missions since the first one. Those were the days, really.

He remembered those well. Once, he and Bonnie actually stole some pokemon from weak trainers. A common mission for Team Rocket, but the events that unfolded afterward effected their lives greatly.
Clyde had dyed his hair brown for the mission, donned civilian clothing, and Bonnie was already out in disguise in the field. Pandora clung to his leg the whole way there.

"Pandora, suck it up and get moving we are so late." Clyde's eyebrow was twitching with growing frustration, trying to shake the Charmelon off his leg. She had evolved, yet was still always clinging to his leg. Pandora finally let go for a minute, twiddling her sharp claws together, wishing she was just in her pokeball if Master didn't want her out. The pokeball was safe, but very dark...Maybe being outside was a little better.

Clyde spotted another member of Team Rocket in disguise. Today they were on a busy urban route. The higher-up sat casually on a park bench. "Hey Mark, have you seen Bonnie? Oh wait- nevermind. HEY BONNIE!" Tack was not one of Clyde's virtues, leaving the undercover executive to fume silently. He waved frantically to his friend, regardless of the small scene he was making.
Bonnie was on the other side of the street, talking to a schoolgirl trainer. "C'mon, Pandora." The Charmelon trailed nervously behind him.

He reached Bonnie and the girl quickly. He overheard his partner going on about not knowing where the nearest Pokemon Center was. Of course she knew where it was. Obviously, this was part of her plan. Bonnie’s Pidgeot circled high in the air.
Clyde!" Bonnie said, her voice taken back by surprise, "I have been looking everywhere for you! Where have you been?"
In the back of her mind, Bonnie was kicking him. He'd better not screw this up for her, even if he was her friend. Clyde was equally surprised, she obviously didn’t know he was on the mission too. Whoops. It would be fine. "Hey Bonnie!" He greeted her. "I figured out where the Center is...Oh are you guys going to battle?" Clyde's attitude and demeanor changed completely, taking on the role of an undercover agent; a normal trainer. Bonnie, however was seemed surprised to see him. The grunt had taken various classes on how to walk differently, invent particular mannerisms, all to make his trainer facades more realistic. Naturally, Bonnie would play along. They had the same training after all. Here, they needed to be as ordinary as possible.

That’s a cool Charmeleon!” The girl said upon sight of Pandora. "Thanks." Clyde threw a smile up to his face when the girl mentioned his Charmeleon. Trainers were proud of their pokemon, even if he wasn't proud of this particular one, faking it was easy. Pandora blushed, and twirled her tail beside him. She didn't get complimented that often, even by humans other than Master. Especially not Master though. Master's praise was like rain in a desert, just as rare and welcomed.

A boy approached the small group from further down the sidewalk. "Hey, Sis, you ready to get going?" The girl’s older brother appeared beside her. "Oh yeah, sure. I was just talking to this lady here. She was wanting to know where the Pokemon Center was." Then Clyde happened to mentioned battling, and the teen perked up. "A battle? Hey, that sounds like fun. We could do a double battle. What do you think?" The brother said quickly to the girl. "Sure! That would be great!" A genuine smile spread across Clyde's face again. "Well, if you are battling, count me in! We can always go to the Center afterwards..." He said, still smiling. The minute these two kids had their pokemon out, they were just as good as property of Team Rocket.

Battle? Bonnie thought, silently fuming. First he showed up unexpectedly, now he was dragging her into a battle with him? Oh, joy! Oh, rapture! This would be great! Bonnie couldn't wait to have an unnecessary battle when all she was going to do was just take the girl's pokemon in the first place. There was nothing more she could say at this point, except to agree. Pokeball in hand, the female grunt threw it and released Sparx, her Pikachu. Clyde was lucky - he'd get have to wait until after they got back to Headquarters before Bonnie gave him a good smack upside the head. "Let's do this." She said. Clyde flashed Bonnie yet another grin, unaware of the beating he would receive later for unknowingly ruining her plan. Ignorance is bliss, as they say.

"Go on, Pandora, show 'em what you're made of," He said, uncharacteristically kind to his pokemon for once. The grunt prayed silently that she would listen just this once and be awesome and cool and badass like his stereotypical expectation of a fierce pokemon.
The girl across from him grinned and tossed her Pokeball into the air. "Okay let's go, Misdreavus!" A pretty little ghost appeared and hovered in front of her trainer. "Drea!" Then, the older boy nodded, also grabbing one of his Pokeballs and hurling it forward. "Go Absol!" The dark Pokemon appeared and took a battle stance, its fur bristling. Yet there was something a little different about this one. It had a shiny coloration, rare! Clyde knew instantly which one he wanted, if he got to keep it after the mission.

Bonnie's eyes widened at the pokemon the two trainers released from their pokeballs. There was a Misdreavus, but not only that. There was a shiny Absol, too! The girl stared at the pokemon greedily, and then smirked. If Clyde and her were lucky in this battle and came back with both of these pokemon, the higher ups would be thrilled. Well, maybe not exactly thrilled, but he would be satisfied as much as he could with the two Grunts. It as at this time that Bonnie shook her head to snap herself out of her inner thoughts. She had more pressing matters at hand at the moment - much more pressing! As she eyed the Misdreavus, the grunt nodded to her pikachu. Alright. Here it was! This was the moment of truth! "Sparx, go! Double team!" The mouse pokemon did as he was instructed, and performed the move. A circle of Sparxs copies suddenly appeared, and thus surrounded this Misdreavus. Which one was the real one, the trainers wouldn't be able to tell, and that was just how the Rocket Grunt wanted it. But Bonnie didn't stop there. Once her Pikachu had performed the double team attack like she had wanted, she then gave Sparx another command. "Now Fling! Throw your magnet at the girl's Misdreavus!" Fling: a dark type attack. Ghost pokemon were weak against those. As instructed, Sparx pulled out a small magnet. The little magnet had been given to the Pikachu by Bonnie as a gift recently, but that didn't matter now. All Sparx was concerned about was attacking his target. One second the magnet was in the Pikachu's hand, and the next it was in the air, being hurled directly at the little ghost pokemon.

The girl and the Misdreavus watched as the Pikachu made the illusion of several 'chus with Double Team. Hmm.. "Use Psybeam!" The ghost type obediently shot forth a colorful beam of psychic energy at one of the Pikachus, hoping to hit. However, the chu then retaliated by tossing a magnet. It conked the ghost on the head, and she spun through the air a little bit, momentarily dazed a losing a sizable chunk of energy. Oh dear. "Confuse Ray!" The ghost's eyes now lit brightly in order to confuse the Pikachu.

While Sparx was able to hit the Misdreavus with his magnet, he was not able to get away from the confuse ray. For a split second the Pikachu glanced into the ghost-pokemon's eyes, and that was all it took. Sparx was hit with a wave of confusion, which caused him to blink and examine his current surroundings. What was going on? What was he doing? Was this a battle, or just practice? He and Bonnie often practiced sometimes, so maybe it was one of those things. The poor Pikachu; he just wasn't sure. When the confuse ray confused her pokemon, Bonnie gritted her teeth with annoyance. Uggh! She hated when this happened. Then again, she would just have to make due and try to overlook it. Neither she, nor her Pikachu were down for the count just yet. "Focus, Sparx!" she said, her voice steady, calm, and sure of herself. "And listen to me: Thunderbolt. Send it directly at that Misdreavus!"
Despite being confused, Sparx was able to snap out of it for a moment. He blinked, but then nodded to his trainer. A thunderbolt! He could do that. "Chuuuuu!" he said, electricity pulsing from his cheeks in the form of a strong electric blast. It was now heading straight for the Misdreavus, just like Bonnie had asked, and she could only hope that her pokemon's confusion would wear off within the next few minutes.

The Thunderbolt struck, effectively shocking the Misdreavus and draining it almost completely of energy. "Dreeeeavus!" it shrieked. The girl winced, but she wasn't out of tricks yet. "Pain Split!" The Misdreavus now began to glow, an attack that would restore some of her energy, but drain some from Pikachu as well, evening the differences between the two.

Pain Split! Damn! Bonnie should have known that the girl would pull that out of her bag of tricks. Well, no matter. The Rocket Grunt still some things up her own sleeve as well. And hopefully, just hopefully, they would work out in her favor. "Alright, Sparx, Volt Tackle!" Sparx, although drained of some of his energy and a bit tired, was still in it for the count. The last thing he was going to do was go down without a fight. "Pika," he said, giving his trainer a definite nod. The mouse pokemon electrified himself in the next moment, and then made a mad dash for the Misdreavus. He was charging at her, and quite fast, too. If there was any time for a head on attack, it was now. Though how much damage the Volt Tackle would do - Bonnie would have to wait and see.

The attack from the pikachu was powerful and while the it also got recoil damage also, it sent the Misdreavus for a loop. The ghost Pokemon faltered... its strength almost completely gone. “Oh no! Hang in there, Misdreavus! Use Perish Song!" Obviously the girl knew her Pokemon was likely to go down in the next hit. The ghost then sang a mournful song.

Ah, Perish Song! Bonnie thought. This was a good attack, one that would cause any pokemon to faint in a few short turns after hearing it. Good thing Bonnie had a plan, though. A hand raised up, pokeball clasped it in. Her Pikachu would be returning to the safety of his pokeball for now, thus negating the effects of Perish Song on him. "Sparx, return to your pokeball," she said in a serious tone. The girl was a better trainer than Bonnie gave her credit for, that was for sure. As the Misdreavus neared the end of her song, the Grunt pulled out another pokeball. She waited as long as she could, trying to time it precisely to when the song would end. When it was over, the orange-haired girl tossed the ball up into the air and smirked. "C'mon out, Riptide. You deserve some time to stretch your legs."

At the same time that Sparx battled the Misdreavus, Pandora was battling the shiny Absol. "You got this Pandora, Focus Punch!" Clyde commanded. Absols were weak against fighting-type moves, and Pandora knew a few.
'You got this?'...It was..positive! "" She shouted, unknown to Clyde or anyone but the other pokemon. "" The Charmeleon chanted under her breath, body still, gathering energy in her claws. She curled them into a fist, now blazing with fiery energy. "Let 'er rip, Pandora!" The Charmeleon dashed forward, she was a speedy little thing. Clyde made sure to train heavily on speed, it was a very important asset in a battle. If you could hit the opponent first, you were good to go. Brute strength might be cool, but it was a little impractical since it was usually just plain slow. Once Pandora was a few feet in front of the Absol, she lept up, and propelled herself at the Absol to deliver the punch.

The Absol narrowed it's dark eyes at the Charmeleon; it was about to unleash a powerful fighting attack, and its trainer knew it too. "Hurry! Quick Attack!" The boy shouted. While the Charmelon was fast, it wasn't as fast as a Quick Attack. The Absol rushed forward, aiming to strike and cause the lizard to lose its focus and be unable to use its attack.

She was struck from the side successfully. Pandora grimaced, and might have lost her focus, but she had more than enough energy built up in her fist to use the Focus Punch. She skid backwards from the force of the attack, claws scraping across the pavement as she tried to switch her momentum. She kept the energy in her fist and rushed forward again, swinging her arm to the side, punching it hard in the side. "Good job!" A tidbit of praise flew the Charmeleon's way "Now, use Brick Break!"
Pandora bolted forward again, thrashing out with punches with the occasional smack from her flaming tail. She came at the Absol from all angles, trying her best to just beat down on him. Pandora wasn't even tired yet, one hit from a Quick Attack was nothing compared to what she was dishing out.

The Absol danced backwards and away, dodging the Focus Punch and snarling angrily. Its trainer frowned as well. "Swords Dance!" The boy called. The Absol then did a little jib to raise its attack while the Charmeleon used Sunny Day... only to then by hit by a Brick Break. The attack drained quite a bit of his energy, but it was far from down. "Slash!" The Absol now ran for the Charmeleon, aiming to swipe its claws at it in a ferocious attack.

Pandora was assaulted by an onslaught of sharp claws; attacked before she even had a chance to block the Absol's furious swipes with her arms. She winced in pain as fresh, oozy scratches appeared all over her body. "Keep it up Pandora, Brick Break again!" Clyde was grinding his teeth as he said this. That stupid Charmeleon, she was going to mess everything up.

"Bonnie, I think it's time to get creative..." This battle wasn't going their way, so they would just have to change it themselves. Clyde's Charmeleon was unaware of their plan at the moment, continued hacking away at the Absol once again.

Bonnie summoned Wartortle a moment later, who only stretched and yawned. It was about time! Riptide was sick of being in the pokeball; it was getting annoying. Despite being out of his ball, however, Bonnie didn't give the turtle pokemon any commands as far as attacks go. Instead, she just gave him a pat on the head before smirking over at Clyde. Her friend was right. It was time to get creative, and she had just the plan in mind. "Believe me, Clyde, I'm one step ahead of you." A whistle followed that statement, a loud, high trill. As if on cue, a sudden wave of sand came flying at the trainers and their pokemon from all sides, almost like an urban sandstorm. It's intention was to blind all four of them, giving her and Clyde an opportunity to successfully carry out their plan, as well as disorient their opponents. High up in the air, Cyclone was still fluttering about. With his sand-attack performed, the Pidgeot let out cry of "Piiidgeot," only to drop a net from his talons over the two trainer's unsuspecting pokemon in hopes of ensnaring them.

Finally, some real progress! Clyde threw off his facade in an instant, barking out an order to Pandora, "Get over here, now!" Pandora winced as she ran, the Absol had bitten her a number of times before she had gotten away; just in time, too, as a net fell over the two other pokemon. This was no normal battle, the Charmeleon realized. She cowered behind her master's leg, only to growled at again "Pandora, use Fire Spin and trap those two brats. You better have some energy left," Pandora knew she was going to cry, she was so tired and now Clyde was angry again. But she had to do as he said, for fear of making him hate her more.
For Master! She thought, summoning all of her fire-power. The flame on her tail blazed higher than usual, as she gathered a large ball of fire in her mouth. She quickly released the ball of flame at the two trainers, sending the inferno swirling around the pair. It never hit the brother and sister, but instead blazed around them. As the jet of flames slowed from Pandora's mouth it was clear the two were trapped inside the vortex of flames. The Charmeleon twiddled her claws together again, she didn't want to hurt the poor humans, so she made sure to make the ring as big as she could without hitting the net. Hopefully master wouldn't be mad with her.

With Perish Song in effect, however, all Pokemon on the field when it was executed would faint in three turns. One turn had now passed... and the Misdreavus, Absol, and Charmeleon were unders its effect. The trainers were shocked and confused by the sudden gust of sand. "Hey!" "What's going on?!" the two shouted, trying to rub the sand from their eyes. Then the net was dropped, and the Pokemon squealed and snarled in distress. Except as a ghost, the Misdreavus phased through the net to glare at the ones responsible. "Dreavus!" With its trainers incapacitated by a fire spin, it attacked the Charmeleon with a Psybeam. The Absol continued to struggle under the net, attempting to rip at it with its claws, teeth, and the sickle on its head.

As the Misdreavus attacking at Pandora, Bonnie seized the opportunity. "Riptide, hit that Misdreavus with an Ice Beam, now!" Riptide's eyes narrowed at the ghost pokemon. Apparently, he was angry for the ghost pokemon attacking Pandora. No one hurt his friends! "Waaaaarr!" he cried, an Ice Beam shooting out of his mouth and directly at the already weakened pokemon. This would show 'em! No one messed with him!

"Cyclone, use Fly and be of some use; take this Absol back to the proper person," Bonnie commanded after she sent Riptide forward; her attention still on the trainer's and the little Misdreavus. She couldn't let her guard down. The battle wasn't over yet, and if she did, then lost her focus then it would be all over. All of their hard work and planning would have been for nothing. Eyes narrowed and brow furrowed, the grunt determined she was not going to let that happen. Cyclone flew up and flapped his wings vigorously. With enough force, the net would lift up into the air, just like his trainer wanted to. The Pidgeot then hesitated in his flapping. If the Absol struggled too much, then he wouldn't be getting anywhere. Something had to be done, something to where the Absol couldn't struggle. Out of the corner of his eye, the bird pokemon glanced over at the Charmelon and called out for some assistance. "Piiiiidge!"

Clyde had nothing to do for now, the Absol- soon to be his Absol, he thought with glee - would be brought to the higher ups any moment. Then he noticed how much the Absol was struggling as the Pidgeot cried out. "Pandora, get over there and paralyze the Absol with a Thunder Punch. We don't want him escaping."
Pandora was off with a nod of her head, charging up a Thunder Punch as she waddled toward Cyclone and the net. She was getting really tired now, the Perish song sapping her strength. The Thunder Punch was a weak one, but strong enough to keep the Absol from breaking out of the net for a few minutes while the Perish song finished him off. Pandora jumped with her fist above her head at the stranded Absol, hopefully he'd be easier to hit since he was caught in the net.
"That'll do, Pandora. Come and sit. You'll be staying out until the Perish song takes effect, in case you're needed." The Charmeleon walked back over to her Master and plopped down at his side, grateful for the praise and rest.

The Perish Song Counter was now almost done. The Ice Beam struck the Misdreavus, and with a shriek, the ghost faded away. The Pokemon had fainted. The trainers were still surrounded by flame and could only look on. "Oh no, Misdreavus!" the girl cried over the roaring flame around her, unable to return her to her ball because of the wall of fire. "My Absol!" the boy shouted, watching as the Pidgeot tried to carry it off in the net. The Absol continued to struggle but as the Charmeleon hit with a thunderpunch, it seemed to do the trick and the dark pokemon went limp... at least for the moment.

Bonnie smirked at the sight. Their plan was going well. She turned to look at her Pidgeot with the net, holding the now paralyzed Absol in his talons. "Fly, Cyclone," she said, turning to meet the gaze of her Wartortle. "And you, Riptide. If that blasted Absol starts to move, hit it with an Ice Beam." This battle - it was getting boring, not to mention frustrating. All she wanted to do was to get out of there with the pokemon they were stealing, and the sooner, the better. Both of her pokemon nodded; Cyclone flapping to take off and pushing off the ground, and Riptide staying on the offensive. All of them had to be ready, just in case.

Pandora had almost drifted off to sleep, Clyde noticed. It was time to go deliver the pokemon however and they needed to keep up. "Come on, Pan." The Charmeleon could even open her eyes, but twitched in an attempt to stand. Clyde sighed and scooped up the Charmeleon. "Some help you're going to be..." He muttered as he hoisted her over his shoulder. She had gotten a lot bigger, he noticed for the first time since she evolved. The Rocket Grunt ran to catch up to Cyclone, Pandora slung over his shoulder, semi-conscious. "Race ya' to the higher ups, Bonnie!" He called out playfully. Their mission was almost over, now all they had to do was check in with the Elite.
The trainers could only watch as the Absol was hoisted away, and the Misdreavus' pokeball was taken as well. "No! Not my Misdreavus! Please, bring her back!" "You dirt bags! You'll never get away with this!" However, the Perish Song counter now reached three. The Absol and Charmeleon both slated to faint, and faint they did.

But get away with it Bonnie and Clyde did. The girl watched, her facial expression stoic, as her Pidgeot flew off with the Absol in his clutches. So they had done it! All of their battling and their hard work for the day had finally paid off. Hands slipping into the pockets of her pants, Bonnie turned and followed along behind Clyde and off in the direction of Seth. It was hard to hide her satisfaction now - in fact, she couldn't do it. The two of them had succeeded. They had managed to steal not one, but two pokemon. Seth would surely be pleased with the spoils of their labor, too, and that was the best part of this whole ordeal. So what if Bonnie got a pokemon? The fact that the Elite trainer would be satisfied with their captures was all that the girl cared about.

Clyde didn't even look back at the two trainers trapped inside the ring of fire as he ran ahead, the now fainted Pandora flopping around on his shoulder. He was well ahead of the rest of the group, breathing a little heavily after running with a heavy pokemon on his shoulder. Clyde calmed himself and walked forward, trying to look strong and awake, which he failed at, since his hair was frazzled-looking and if Pandora's tail got any closer to his shirt, it would catch on fire. Regardless, he approached the higher ranking Rocket, "We've- that is Bonnie and I, have captured two pokemon, a Misdreavus and a shiny Absol. Bonnie and the pokemon are bringing them now." He stated. The Grunt stood there for a moment before realizing that Pandora had probably fainted by now and could be returned to her pokeball. He casually flipped open her pokeball and returned her without a word.

A Misdreavus and shiny Absol he said? "Oh really..." The Elite replied with a lifted brow. He would have to see it to believe this. Also, he wondered why Clyde hadn't bothered his obviously incapacitated Charmeleon until now. Well whatever.
"Really." Bonnie had finally caught up with her friend, it had seemed. The girl's arms were crossed over her chest as she gazed at the Elite Rocket. Just as expected: he didn't believe a word Clyde had said, nor would he until he had some definite proof. Well, the girl had brought him that proof. A shadow could be seen flying over their heads, and then it got bigger as the pokemon the shadow belonged to swooped down and landed gracefully on the ground. Cyclone had made it with the fainted Absol in tow. With the Absol right smack in front of him, Bonnie also pulled out the string of beads belonging to the ghostly pokemon. This would also prove as evidence of their second steal of the day. Two pokemon instead of one -- Bonnie and Clyde hadn't done that bad, to be perfectly honest. A whole lot better than some of the other Grunts, that was for sure. The two of them worked well together, and if anything showed that, it would have been this entire mission.

Clyde scoffed at the higher ups words, folding his arms over his chest as well. "Of course we caught them! No way we're letting a shiny go, and a misdreavus isn't bad either." He grinned at Bonnie, "We make an awesome team."
As Bonnie came in with the captured Absol and Misdreavus, Seth blinked once, a little bit surprised. Seems that Clyde hadn't been exaggerating after all. "So I see..." He told the scoffing Clyde, and made a little note next to their names on his clipboard as well as which Pokemon they had come back with. "I would think its safe to assume that you are keeping these Pokemon?" Despite the Absol being a shiny, neither Seth or the Boss had any real use for it. Fodder was left for the grunts.
The female Rocket grunt nodded, the scarf on her head slipping down a bit as she did so. Pushing it back up, Bonnie peered over at the higher ranking Rocket with a serious expression. With their mission completed, and considering how hard the both of them had worked, there was no way they'd be giving up the pokemon. If they did, then everything would have been a waste of time as far as she was concerned.

"We are keeping them," she stated, matter-of-fact. "Clyde gets the Absol, and I'm taking the Misdreavus. Oh, and we want to be offical partners," Bonnie added after she made claims for the pokemon. "As you can tell, the two of us work well together."
Clyde nodded along with what Bonnie was saying. The grunt did his best to contain his excitement over getting his new pokemon, and keep a serious expression like his soon-to-be-partner. Like he said, they worked great together. Hopefully the Elite saw it this way, too, and would officially pair them up. The Elite just nodded as he jotted things down on his clipboard. "Its already been noted." He had already planned to put them together after their success together in this mission.

"Well done. Now standby. We'll be leaving shortly."

Bonnie said nothing to the Elite's compliment, even though other grunts would have been elated at such praise. Instead, she focused on taking care of her pokemon. Riptide went back in his pokeball. With the battle over, there wasn't much use in having him out anymore. Sparx was already safely in his, and the girl made a note to have him taken care of once they got back to Headquarters. The Pikachu was probably exhausted from the long, trying fight with the Misdreavus, so being treated for that wouldn't just be needed, but welcomed. Cyclone was the only pokemon that Bonnie kept out, and when the higher up told them to stand by, she walked over to him and ran her hand over the feathers on his head. "You did good, Cyclone; I'm proud of you."
The stolen Misdreavus pokeball still in hand, the female grunt then turned abruptly on her heel. She didn't say anything more after that, and instead reached out to grab Clyde by the arm in order to pull him away. While she didn't know about her partner, she was sick of being around the Elite. One could only take so much of the Elite Rocket, and she wanted some time where the two of them could just chat by themselves as they milled around with the other agents. Their mission had been a success, most definitely, but there was no way Bonnie would allow herself any happiness or bragging rights over that. This was just one mission, after all. Success today could be failure tomorrow.

"Don't get too excited, Clyde," she said cooly, "We have to keep our heads in the game."
Clyde grinned like a maniac at the praise, so much for keeping a serious attitude. Bonnie had obviously noticed. With Pandora in her pokeball Clyde would have to wait until they got back to Headquarters. The Absol was out of his hands right now, since he was being loaded into a van, so Clyde didn't have to tend to his pokemon as much as Bonnie. He thought about talking to Pandora's pokeball, like he had seen trainers do after a battle, but it always seemed stupid to him. The pokemon couldn't hear them could they? Pandora was out like a light anyways. The Grunt looked at the pokeball on his belt anyways, and silently thanked her. As much as he disliked her sheepish nature, she did very well on their mission. Then he thought about how creepy it would be if she could hear everything..
.
He was snapped out of his musings as Bonnie grabbed him by the arm and pulled him off to the side. Clyde had no problem with Seth, he was okay, and as far as he knew the Elite was neutral with him as well. It would be nice to just chat with Bonnie though. Not that he would brag to the others though...
"Why not? We just had an awesome and successful mission! Why not celebrate for a little?" He grinned. "Pandora could use some training, and I'll need to get used to battling with Absol...He needs a name, by the way. I was thinking Hades, or maybe Cereberus. Something fierce that'll fit 'im, and probably from Greek mythology. You know how much I love those stories."

Cerberus," was all that the teenage boy's partner said. Her reply had been short, simple, and to the point. She didn't have a need to explain herself, either. Cerberus was a name that sounded powerful, and those were the best kind for pokemon in her opinion. Not only that, but Cerberus was a three-headed dog of legend that helped to guard the Underworld in Greek mythology. One couldn't get more epic than that. The name of Clyde's new Absol would definitely strike fear into others, that was for sure.

As her partner rambled on about his pokemon and possible names, Bonnie found herself sitting down. Such was this typical scene after a successful day of stealing. This kind of behavior was normal for Clyde. He always had a tendency to get excited over this kind of thing. Team Rocket - it was a game to him. Something fun to do, an adrenaline rush. To her, on the other hand, it was something more serious. Team Rocket was a source of income, a way to get money she so desperately needed for her mother back home. A string of debts weren't going to pay themselves, you know.
'Why not? We just had an awesome and successful mission! Why not celebrate a little?'
This question rang throughout the girl's mind, and caused her to frown. Why? Uggh. Celebrating wouldn't do anything! So what if they managed to get away with stealing some pokemon? Fate was on their side today, and that was it. If they hadn't teamed up together, and if she hadn't been prepared ahead of time, then they probably would have come back empty handed. "Because," she told Clyde, the look in her eyes stern and cold, "Getting cocky will be a bad move. So what if we succeeded? It was one mission. Win today, and we can still fail tomorrow. We have to stay focused, Clyde, so that nothing else will get our way."

Clyde nodded at Bonnie's response, "Cerberus it is then." He stated, also knowing the story behind the name. He would make sure his Absol would strike fear into the hearts of his opponents. And if he trainer Pandora hard enough, some day she would be a powerful Charizard. It was a perfect plan, although a little small for a team. Bonnie already had, what, four pokemon now? He felt like he was a little behind his partner.
He snapped back to reality again when Bonnie sat down. She always got like this, like being a Rocket was a job. Clyde might have treated it like a hobby, but it was a real job for Bonnie. The money he earned here was just some extra cash, money he could store up for something his parents wouldn't provide for him, which was essentially money that would collect dust. He had an account where he stored this dusty money, and would love to just give it all to Bonnie, but that was one mistake he wasn't going to make again. The teen had offered the extra money to her once, and she hadn't taken it very well. He had been so stupid, not catching it earlier that she would possibly be offended by it. Even if he was just being friendly and trying to help her out...He pushed those thoughts away.
The grunt sighed and sat down next to his friend. "Come on, Bonnie. I know you might think of this as 'work', but it can be fun, you know. We're not getting unfocused, like I said we could go train in celebration. It's fun, and it's training. What better way to get ready for future missions?" He smiled slightly during his statement. There was something that attracted him so to this girl, even though her chilling attitude was quite the opposite of his fiery one.

Clyde could think what he wanted, but she disagreed. To all of his comments, she just shook her head. Stealing pokemon could be fun for him all he wanted, but for her it was just business. She certainly didn't get any joy out of swiping pokemon from people. Satisfaction, maybe, but not joy. Happiness was for other things: pokemon eggs, dates, and holidays. Not for the line of work they did. "The moment you start mixing fun with work is the moment you stick your head in the clouds long enough for it to come back and bite you..." she muttered, standing up from where she sat. "There isn't anything fun about what we do. It's just business, and that's all. Save the fun for sometime else."

The alizarin-haired boy shook his head.

A few days later...

Clyde stretched his back, shaking off his sleepiness with a yawn. He had taken a quick cat nap before reporting to one of the headquarters' training facilities. After their last mission, he had offered to celebrate with Bonnie. She turned him down on his idea for a real celebration, like going out for dinner, and instead they opted for some training. He needed to get his new Absol- Cerberus -to get used to his new master in order to be ready for their next mission. Pandora, his recently evolved Charizard, was in need of some training too. Now that she was a Charizard, he couldn't wait to battle with her, and already had her out of her pokeball. Clyde would love to train her to fly around with him on her back, but with her timid nature it would take plenty of training.
Pandora was eagerly flying around the large room, so much for a timid nature, maybe she would finally be fear-some...

"Let's celebrate," Clyde had said the other day.
Bonnie couldn't help but let out a frown of disapproval when she first heard her new partner say that. Right after they had finished the mission was honestly not the time. They had other things to worry about and do - more important things. Like training their newly caught -- or stolen, rather -- pokemon, and teaching them the ropes. Even at the thought of throwing some sort of mini-celebration, Bonnie rolled her eyes. Successfully stealing pokemon wasn't something to party over. Regardless of all that, though, the girl found herself keeping silent as she walked into the training hall. Cyclone was, as always, at her side. Once the trainer and pokemon entered the hall, the Pidgeot gave Pandora a content nod of his head. So she had become a Charizard now? That was good! Fast, too. Perhaps now she would be able to live up to her full potential, just as her master wanted her to. "Piiidge," he trilled in greeting, making his hello to her short and to the point like how his trainer often greeted others. The pokemon seemed to learn by example, or so it seemed. Cyclone became quiet after that, except for the casual flutter of his wings. By the looks of things, he was eager to get this training session under way.

"'ZAAARD!" Pandora accidentally roared in greeting as she landed next to Clyde. She still wasn't quite in control of her voice after evolving, and quickly shut her mouth, sharp fangs poking out of her maw. Clyde laughed and patted his pokemon's side, "That's the spirit Pandora. Heya, Bonnie!" he greeted his partner and her pokemon. It wasn't quite successfully stealing the pokemon that he wanted to celebrate, it was a a mission well done regardless of whether their methods were...frowned upon by most of society. There were always two sides to a coin, what did it matter which side he was on? Either way, he was eager to train. Pandora fluttered (very, very ungracefully. She practically created a mini-earthquake when she landed) "You ready to get started? Ladies first~" He grinned at her as he teased.

"Ladies first," she repeated with a smirk. Bonnie then paused, blue eyes scanning over Cyclone and then glancing to Pandora. Well, this wouldn't be an interesting fight. It wouldn't be an interesting fight at all. "Sorry, Cyclone," the Pidgeot's trainer said in an apologetic tone. A gloved hand then reached down to pluck one of the other four pokeballs on her belt. These were saved for the other pokemon in her party, considering that her Pidgeot wasn't one to stay in his pokeball. The ball flew into the air after the grunt gave a quick flick of her wrist. From it, Riptide appeared - Bonnie's Blastoise. "Blaaaast" the shellfish pokemon exclaimed after popping out of his ball. He then blinked over at Pandora and gave her a goofy grin and a wave. As much as Bonnie wanted him to be one of her more hardcore, serious pokemon, he was a bit of a goof. A goof that had eyes for a certain Charizard over on Clyde's team. "Focus, Rip," was all his trainer replied with a stern voice, "And hydro pump, while you're at it."

'Aw man.' Clyde immediately thought when Riptide appeared. Bonnie had a very obvious advantage now, his Charizard was never good against water-types. He didn't expect any less of a good challenge from Bonnie of course. Pandora however blushed shyly when the Blastoise appeared and waved back. "Get up in the air and dodge it!" Clyde commanded. Pandora beat her new wings in an attempt to take off, but she was too slow and was drenched with a decent portion of the Hydro-Pump before she made it into the air. "Earthquake!" Clyde shouted. Pandora stopped flapping her wings at the command and braced herself as she plummeted at the field, aiming as close as she could to Riptide.

Riptide fell to the ground when the shock from the Earthquake hit him. An annoyed grunt escaped his lips as he picked himself up. How cruel! This wasn't how his friend was supposed to be treating him. Dusting off, he then glanced back at Bonnie, waiting to hear what she wanted him to do next. Though, why she wanted him to fight his friend was beyond him. She was such a strict trainer sometimes. "Aqua tail -- hit her as she nears you," was the Rocket's command. After she gave the Blastoise her instructions, she calmly crossed her arms over her chest. This battle, even if it was just training, didn't seem to faze her. If anything, she was calm, cool and collected as she watched and planned her next series of attacks. One had to be if they wanted to do anything decent. If she panicked and got all flustered, then everything would go to hell. That's why she kept a level-head. When she gave him his next attack, Riptide nodded. As Pandora got close to him, the water pokemon then took that moment to swing his tail about in her direction. The pokemon's tail moved viciously, as if it were some sort of wave in a torrential storm. Pandora better move quick, the blue turtle couldn't help but notice. If she didn't, then he'd end up hitting her, and that was the last thing he wanted to do.

After Pandora realized that her attack hit, she became flustered and stuttered a 'sorry' to her friend. She was so nervous about battling in her new form that she forgot the damage she could do, and that she didn't really want to hurt Riptide. Then again, she didn't want Clyde to hate her either. The Charizard tried to move backwards, realizing that her friend could attack her any moment as well, but ended up tripping on the rocky terrain her Earthquake had created. "Pandora, you idiot! Get up quickly-" His pokemon was swiftly drenched with the Aqua tail, and his gloved palm met his face. "Trip him with Iron Tail and then get back in the air!" He commanded. The Charizard whipped her flamed-tail, now shining silver, at Riptide's feet in an effort to trip him. He had gotten her wet! How could he?
One second he was hitting Pandora with his Aqua Tail attack, and the next he was toppling to the floor. Clyde had wanted his Charizard's Iron Tail to trip him up, and it certainly did the job. Riptide fell, indeed, and in the process ended up rolling (albeit, accidentally) on to his shell. What a predicament this had turned into! Rolling about on his back, the Blastoise struggled to get up, but to no avail. It just wasn't going to work. Embarrassed, he let out a quiet "...Tooise.." of a mumble, only to retreat into the safety of his protective shell. Shocked at what just happened to her pokemon, Bonnie stared at the scene before her with wide eyes. He didn't just....just retreat into his shell, did he?! Her eyes then narrowed coldly into tiny slits, her hands flying out in frustration. "Riptide! What the hell do you-...I can't believe you...Uggh!" His trainer waisted no time in whipping out his pokeball after that. "Return," she demanded. A red beam of light shot at the pokemon, thus returning him to his ball. Upset at her pokemon's weakness, she then shot a glance over at her best friend and partner. "You win," she said, giving him a satisfied nod of her head. Even though she didn't like to admit when her pokemon showed weakness, Riptide was probably not up to fighting anymore, and she didn't want to put him through that. Because of this, Clyde and Pandora won fair and square, and that was all there was to it.

Pandora make a sad growling noise when she saw how she hurt her friend. "Charr..." She said meekly and when the red beam of light took him away she sat on the field and twisted her tail in her claws. Even though they had won, she felt terrible. "Zaaarrd." She wailed as her eyes watered. She was terribly tired, and it was her fault Riptide's master yelled at him. Clyde would have none of Pandora's crying business, especially since they managed to win. Another hit and Pandora would have gone down for sure. "Stop crying, we won!" Clyde carefully made his way over the rocky field and patted his Charizard's side with a smile. "Return, Pandora. Nice battle, Bonnie." He returned her nod with one of his own. "Up for a second round?" He asked, putting away Pandora's pokeball as he reached for Cerberus'. This would be the first time since he captured the Absol to let him out of his pokeball, he was a ferocious thing.
"You know I am," Bonnie replied with a smirk. Her gloved handed gingerly brushed over one of the last few pokeballs clipped to her belt, and then grasped the last one. It would be an interesting battle with this pokemon. She just caught - or stole, rather - the little gal recently (the day the two of them also managed to snag Cerberus, to be exact). The ball was tossed into the air a second later, the red beam of light producing a small specter of a pokemon. It was Banshee, Bonnie's newly acquired Misdreavus. She would be the one battling Clyde's shiny Absol.

"Let's go, Cerberus! Say hello to your new master!" Clyde enthusiastically tossed the pokeball in the air, releasing his recently stolen shiny Absol. A flash of red, and a mass of bristling white fur appeared. Cerberus took in his surroundings for a moment, and then lashed out at Clyde. "Where is my trainer?!" He barked, even though he knew neither human would be able to understand him. The Absol charged at the alizarin-haired Rocket, barking and growling as he pinned Clyde to the floor. The grunt was stunned, he had no idea his pokemon would be this shocked. "Hey! Get off-" Clyde attempted to toss the pokemon off him, but he was determined not to budge. "I am your master! You will obey!" Clyde yelled, still struggling to get the white dog off him. Cerberus roared again, "WHERE IS MY TRAINER? You are not him! What did you do to him?!" The Absol reared its head back and with a mighty swing, slashed the red scythe-like horn on his head diagonally across Clyde's chest. The 'R' on his shirt was distorted with splatters of red.

Banshee couldn't help but giggle when Cerberus came out angry. Completely disregarding her own trainer, the ghost pokemon floated on over to the Absol and nuzzled up against him (or at least, as much as a ghost pokemon could). "Silly Cerberus," she said, hovering a few steps back from him. "These humans haven't really picked up on the fact that we aren't their pokemon." The Misdreavus then paused, glancing back at her trainer. What would her reaction be to this whole scenario. Bonnie's eyes widened as big as they could go at the sight of the disaster pokemon on her best friend. "Oh my go-...Clyde!" The grunt didn't waste any time. As quickly as she could, she ran over and attempted to push the Absol off of her partner. "GET OFF OF HIM!" she yelled, not even bothering to hide her feelings. When anyone messed with Clyde, things got personal. She was not going to let this one slide so easily.

Cerberus continued to bark in Clyde's face, ignoring the Misdreavus. What had these humans done to his trainer? The shiny Absol had been the boy's first pokemon, and Cerberus was extremely protective of his trainer. If these other humans had done something to his trainer he would make sure they paid - and he was sure they had done something. Clyde's strength was fading fast as his wound spilled more blood. He had to get Cerberus off him before he did any more damage. The grunt pushed on the disaster pokemon's chest, the same time Bonnie pushed him from the side. Cerberus was taken by surprise, he hadn't counted on the female coming to help. The extra push toppled the Absol to the side, who rolled and immediately sprang back to his paws. But before he could attack again, Clyde was able to slip his thumb over the button on Cerberus' pokeball and push down. The device snapped open, the red light flashing out to return Cerberus. "Bonnie..." Clyde mumbled as he slipped into unconsciousness.

Clyde didn’t remember much after that. Bonnie had to cart Clyde to the Medical Bay on Pandora’s back, she was covered in red trails by the time they got there. Clyde was too pale, he had lost a lot of blood. Pandora was scared out her mind, and Bonnie would have been too if she hadn’t such a level-headed personality. Cerberus was likely to need to be put down, or never used. Clyde didn’t wake up until the next day. He awoke to a bright room with fluorescent lights, the first time he had been there for anything other than a checkup. He struggled to sit up, his chest was covered with bandages from his navel to his collar bone. The pokemon had done a lot of damage, even broken a few ribs. He looked to the side, Bonnie was curled up in a waiting chair, asleep. He would find out later that she stayed with him through the night. Clyde nudged her gently and her eyes opened slowly. “Clyde,” She said, her voice thick with sleep. “Hey,” He said. Clyde could’ve sworn Bonnie looked like she’d be crying, but that would be stupid. Bonnie was the least likely person to cry that he knew. She probably never cried. He smiled at her, “Looks like I’m gonna have an awesome scar, huh?
She hugged him.

He wouldn’t return to the Medical Bay with any serious injuries until some months later.
