Peyla thought it was sort of fun guiding the alkidike places. She couldn't see, and so it was Peyla's job to lead her! When the alkidike wasn't injured, she would laugh. When she laughed, Peyla was happy. Simple. And the sprite found it facinating to have her tiny hand in the larger alkidike's hand... and be the one in power. It was fun, and she got to go lots of places!
Today, she was going to see the BIG OPEN.Today, Dyakida was going to venture out into the Tale again. She was looking for materials to remake her carving tool, and she had heard that some of those materials were more easily found in the Tale. Plus, working with new materials would be good for her. And... It was good practice for when she would visit Aminah. She didn't want to be completely unprepared, though a little unpreparedness would probably be forgiven.
It helped having a guide around this time. One that wasn't stammering all the time. She shivered at the first stepful of low, rigid grass... and kept going. Keratna thought today was a nice day! A good day for sweets! Maybe his friend would give him some today?

Betoto felt the warm ground between her toes as she walked around her home, not knowing what to do. She hadn't seen her bug friend in a while, but she hasn't had the time to venture out into Jauhar, so it set some things back.
In her time around the village, she was helping her sister Nnena recover from her latest fall of illness. Now that she was stable, Betoto walked around the village.
A rustle in the distant bushes caught the brunette's attention and her eyes watched carefully, hoping to see what or who was going to come out of it.
It seemed to get closer, and her cuiousity got to her, making her feet walk closer to the rustling. As she got to the line of plant life, she saw a blue-ish light with a figure coming closer.

Dyakida didn't notice the figure approaching, though she had often been able to sense movement vibration. There was just such a feeling of... emptiness above her.
Peyla did notice. And Peyla was curious! She had only ever seen big people with green skin, or white skin, or black skin. But that was a big person with brown skin! "!!!!" she called, tugging at Dyakida's hand.
"Am I not keeping up, Peyla?" She was unnerved, but she wasn't moving slowly. What was the sprite's problem?
Ever since he had met Betoto, Keratna had hung around the edge of the jungle. The sun hurt a little. It was warm and dry.
Oh! Oh oh! He scented a familiar smell!
It was the right smell!
Sweet? Not sweet. Friend! His friend!
He fluttered forward, further out into the treeline, though he was a bit uncomfortable in the more open space.
Another scent? And another? Lots of things! Keratna was curious.

Betoto heard the movements and froze, her green eyes glued to the forest. She heard a flutter a short distance away and after a couple seconds looked into the direction of the flutter to see her bug friend. Oh it's you! She said with a smile as her feet traveled to the place Keratna was waiting. Her mind told her to look back but she was too frightened to approach the noise in the forest again.
After reaching Keratna, she lightly brushed her finger on it's back. I missed you. She said as she looked around and found one of the blue berry plants. She plucked one and held her hand out to Keratna. Here.
Betoto heard a voice and turned quickly to see what was happening. Peyla? Who is that? she thought to her self as she saw a faint blue light around where she just was. After the blue light, she saw a woman with green skin follow behind. A scream escaped Betoto's lips, since she has only heard stories of Alkidike when she was a young child. She watched nervous, not knowing what the woman would do.

Keratna was happy to see his friend again. He liked his friend! He wasn't sure how he felt about being petted, but she gave him sweet blue berries, so he decided he didn't mind! He ate the berry and chirped, nuzzling her hand. More?
Dyakida was startled at the loud scream- it was sharp and it sounded female and humanoid. Earthling? Alkidike? She didn't know. It hurt her ears though, unmuffled as it was by heavy jungle foliage and she winced. She winced- She hadn't realized quite the difference that a few lushleaves could make on the acoustics of sound. "Are you all right?" well, it would be odd to just stand there, and what if it was a sister alkidike? She should try to help, or at least figure out why the other had screamed. She tensed. If she had to run...
Peyla thought it was very rude of the woman to scream like that, and began scolding loudly. How dare she make loud sounds and hurt her alkidike? How dare she?! Hmph! Brown twoleg should know better!
For his part, Keratna was confused. Why did his friend make a loud sound and jump away? He wanted more berries! Give him more berries, best friend?

Betoto felt her friend nuzzle against her but her mind was preoccupied by the company she came across. She heard the woman ask if she was alright and Betoto nodded before answering, Y-yes She said as she watched the small sprite with anger in her voice. I-I'm sorry. I've never met someone she quieted down. Like you. She said as she looked back at Keratna, who wanted more berries. She looked around for another blue berry and handed it to him.

Keratna was happy his friend was quiet, quiet was good. Berries were good too. He chirped. Yay! Blue! Berries! Best friend! He landed nearby, tickling her hands with his feelers.
Peyla had not forgiven this twoleg for her rudeness. She continued to scold, completely ignoring the Nondwa. Nondwa were ignorable.
Dyakida approached cautiously, frowning slightly. Definitely female, definitely either Alkidike or Earthling. Peyla was no help in that regard- the little sprite could guide but couldn't describe. "Thats good then" she said, taking care with her steps, not because she felt that this unknown woman was a danger (after all, she could be a sister Alkidike), but because she didn't know what dangers, sharp objects, or rocks lurked under the sand, waiting to attack her bare feet. "Like me... how?" she asked. That might answer the question of whether she was speaking to an Earthling or an Alkidike. Or she could be referring to Peyla. Who knew.
