This is going to be the first rp that I would actually like to invest myself with and I was wondering if some things can be explained to me. I have been reading and re-reading everything, but I'm am just too unfamiliar with everything. -At the moment I have posted a WIP Character Quest in the Character Quests thread. Once I finish filling out the form, would my character have to be approved before I can roleplay him or should I develop a story first once he is completed? -May I start out as a Warsoul or must I begin from one of the basic types? -If my character is approved, would I obtain his art from winning contests and/or RPing, thus developing his character.

~ You just need to fill out the quest and have it approved by a staff and moved into the approved subforum before you can RP. :3 These are mostly to just help with any lore errors, as we welcome different styles of RP and such and understand your story may change when you actually start roleplaying.
~ You can quest for any type, BUT, with Warsoul, they're unavailable until after the first meta I'm afraid -- I know it's not said anywhere yet, sorry! So with that, you could quest for one but your quest would likely not be approved until after the first meta. We're also a little stingy with that race at the moment and would like it to be a bit more uncommon, at least in the beginning. c:
- When your character is approved, you are not guaranteed the art of it -- this is solely up to you and/or luck. Basically, once every month- monthand a half, artists will open up art slots, and people with approved quests can try for them (usually through a method of luck) and those people who win will get art of their character. You DO need art to "advance" in stages, perse. The other methods of obtaining the art are: If you win a premade, you are welcome to apply it to an approved character quest of yours if you think it fits, you can commission it if the artist has gold or rl$ customs open, so on and so forth. c:

I'm currently working on a Quest for a character and have a few questions that would most likely help me decide on how to further him, as well as fill out his info. I've never been super into RP with shop pets/characters, but since this shop is heavily based into it I'd like to start off right. If I have any other questions I'll be sure to ask. ^^;
1. Are characters (witches, majin, humans) allowed to have familiars of sorts? Animals, spirits, elementals, fantasy creatures, so forth? If they do, I'm assuming nothing too great and powerful unless the character meets that sort of stage? (I have a small, useless one in mind that's more for companionship if anything)
2. Would a Witch Eater be allowed in the Cerberus Knights if they turned into one after joining? Or would they be outcast? If not, would they be outcast from the Knights if someone were to find out about them eating Witch Hearts? (future development in mind)
3. I understand that this shop is mostly a character/RP shop, and not a breedable shop, correct? (Just making sure for my confirmation)

 1. Sure! If you're a human with one though, it'd probably be better to only have one if you were a bio-alchemist, though. c: But pets are different~ 2. Yep, but it all depends on how they became a witch eater -- I mean, there could be sooooo many gray areas. So, it'd probably be best if they kept the truth about them a seeeecret c: But yes, you can do this. 3. You are correct -- there is no breeding -- Er -- If there is on messengers only please so we don't break the ToS /bricked/ But no, there will more than likely not be breeding of any sorts, though you're still welcome to create "Families". c:

For solo-RPs, if our character is reflecting on their past (a way to help us gain a deeper understanding of them, and also just practice writing with them while waiting for multi-character responses or somesuch), are we allowed to mention characters who are integral to their backstory, but not a part of this shop officially? Specifically, since Mia was kept rather socially isolated by her parents, those characters would be her Father (mostly) and Mother (before she passed). I was thinking about when memories are italicized or otherwise separated from "the present", shown from the child's perspective, with full dialogue left intact - interactions with parents, or memories that stuck with them, such as when Mia's Father would train her in defensive tactics.
I also thought it might be neat to have a solid basis for when Mia begins her journey, but since that's in her Backstory (and would be the last thing to happen before she begins exploring/interacting with other shop characters), if it's preferred that I keep it there instead of writing something out officially that's fine too. o3o
... thought just occurred to me. One of Mia's "arguments" for why she should be allowed to travel the lands in search of greater knowledge would be that she can always return home and visit (proof that she's okay, and making sure her father is alright since she would miss him too). This would be a seasonal thing (anniversary of whenever she left, when possible?) But... she can't really visit a character who's not official, right? o.o Would this be a sort of "she went and did that but it's not officially played out" grey area, or could/should I create a quest for her father to be turned into a character too? I know that there's plenty to do within the span of a year in this realm (especially when the Meta gets up an running!), but just thought i'd ask since this would come up in the future. :3

You are more than welcome to have "NPC" characters related to your characters, if you want to use them to move the story along or your character's background. c:

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere already but are Cerberus Knights/BlackHearts/Rune Knights considered Stage 2 or 3 characters? If they are considered as Stage 3, then which character stages are considered to be Stage 2?
Is Stage 2 just a progression of the character art while remaining as a witch/majin/human?
Will there be any other stages for those characters who are not so combat inclined to join any of the knight factions? Just trying to get some of these figured out proper in my own head here. Thanks! ^^;

The knights can begin at either stage 2 or 3. c: Stage 2 is just the pre-req if you're interested in your character becoming one.
Stage 2 is pretty much as you said -- they're stronger obviously, or more skilled than a stage 1. c: Stage 2 is also the stage that spiritus, neph and warsoul begin on.
At the moment there are no other 'special' stages (factions) but in the future we were talking about letting players make their own factions, and having them go through a process to get it approved and have members, but we were going to wait to see how things are going in the shop first. c:

So as far as premades go, do I need to get my character approved in the quest threads first or may I just go ahead and make a journal/start roleplaying?

Halcyon Flight So as far as premades go, do I need to get my character approved in the quest threads first or may I just go ahead and make a journal/start roleplaying? It's really up to you! If you'd like to set up a thread in the Quest forum so staffers can assist you if you need it, you're more than welcome to! However it's not required so feel free to go ahead and set up a journal if you feel you're good to go! ^_~

I wanted to know if it would be okay for me to do a word count for all my old rps from the old shop now, screen cap it.
Then as add it to a a 2nd word count? Just so I don't have old RPs hanging around in the new journal?
So I would submit 2 word counts for the growth requirement that would be added together?
