Topics usually are supposed to prompt discussion.
Here comes someone to tell you to ignore me and that I hate new people. Disregard them.

It's kind of nice to have a solid list available for newer, younger people though. Not every 13 year-old on new to Gaia would know about all of them :3
That said, prompting discussion would be good.
What was everyone's first console? Is there something on the list that you've never tried/ would like to try/play again?
My mom threw out my NES when I was like 9. She thought it was broken because we had to blow in it. RIP DUCK HUNT AND MARIO 3 crying

I grew up with a brother 6 years older than me, with his own video games. I can't remember ever not having the NES, and for that matter, I really don't remember not having an SNES, even though it came out after I was born. We had a genesis too.
I am pretty sure we actually got all 3 within my lifetime, too. Funny how that is.
I was pretty obsessed with repeatedly renting A like to the past as a youngster, and when Ocarina of Time came out you can imagine I was pretty overjoyed! :I
We had a genesis too.

Meta_Fish Is the Virtual Boy a handheld or a gaming console? IT was designed to be plugged into the wall wasn't it? Logic dictates that if the virtual boy was a handheld, then a gamecube with a screen peripheral would be one too. So based on this -mmm- postulation: No, it is not a handheld. It is a console.
