Incoming Thread - Wave 1: 224 The falls were as unpredictable as always and when the coast was threatened by sheets of silvery Thread, the messengers stationed there sent their warnings swiftly to the recovering Trine. Dragons rose in defense of Trine and its Land.
If the Thread isn't defeated in 2 days, coastal holds will be destroyed. This will impact the IC Setting.
If they are defeated, however, then each participant who stays the whole time (minimum 5 posts)
will each receive 5 Pearls as thanks from the Holders. The Rules The Rules You may only post for ONE character per post.
NO DELETING POSTS - You will receive an automatic greylisting for deleting posts. There is plenty of room for danger AND safety in this system, abuse will not be tolerated.
Burn Posts are the action posts where one determines how much thread is burned and chance of being scored.
Damage Posts are posts made separately from the Burn Posts, should a dragon suffer Threadscore. These must be separate from Burn Posts.
Both Burn Posts and Damage Posts count towards the waiting period when a dragon's HP drops to 0.
If you are withdrawing your character, please note this in bold in your post at the top.
Please keep a tally of your EXP somewhere, be it a journal or otherwise. A separate thread for buying stats will be available.
How to build your dragon's stats is described below, along with how to roll for damage and thread burning. Please note Silvers have a slightly different method.
Time Riders ONLY: If a dragon participated in (aka posted during the Time Riders Event in Arc 1) the Time Riders' activities, their experience with Threadfall gives them a stat bonus of +5 to HP and +2 to Agility when initially calculating stats.

They appeared over the holds in formation with their wing, and Moriath's flame tore through the outer edge of the tangled silver curtain. she called as she twisted out of the way of a nasty clump. They had new riders flying beside them this fall, inexperienced dragons who would need careful watching.
Neither of them could bear to fail.

Mine, let's fly! S'kiro ran to the call of His, knowing that they were going to fight Thread. He was a tad late, jumping on the blue after securing the sacks of firestone. The message given, they rose to the sky. Take us there, love.
Arriving above the coast, they stayed in formation. It was time, minds set on flaming Thread and staying safe. With a twist of his body, Neptanth let his flame out, his flame going where he aimed.

Z'fer and Calanoth // Burn Post
~Back in the Saddle. Let's Go!~ Z'fer leaned forward across Calanoth's neck, feeding the bronze one more piece of firestone before he gave the signal for the Storm Riders to rise.
~ There are more than our lives at stake! Keep that in mind and fly cautiously! ~ Like Calanoth was one to talk, but with new riders in the wing he had to set a good example. His hide was littered with scars of past scorings. Everything from little brushes to great rips of green tinted scar tissue.
~Storm Riders take my coordinates! We go! ~
Z'fer refused to think of a pristine silver hide that did not number among his own. He couldn't fly distracted again.
(( Any new rider who has not chosen their wing yet and wishes to fly with Z'fer and the Storm Riders may do so but you MUST PM me at some point to make it official. No flying with him this Fall and switching Wings later. ))

Z'fer and Calanoth // Damage Post
As seemed to be tradition by now, Calanoth reappeared right into a patch of falling Thread. They flickered back out and in again.
~ We really need to work on your accuracy. You alright? ~
Calanoth looked back at the bright new score on his tail and mentally shrugged. ~ Barely hurts ~ He declared boldly despite the fact that Z'fer could feel the phantom pain himself.

J'nes and brown Hatteth - Burn post

When Threadfall was called, J'nes and Hatteth dropped what they were doing to form up with their wing. Soon they launched to meet the ancient foe, and reappeared in the air by the threadfall.
As Hatteth chewed his firestone, J'nes warned, Be careful, we have little experience at this. Don't take chances until we're more used to it.
Hatteth stoutly replied, Instinct will make up for lack of experience. All dragons know how to flame Thread. True to his word, he then turned and flamed a small chunk of Thread from the sky, burning it to harmless ash.

Hekate of Silver Devith -Burn Post
Just as Z'fer thought of silver hide so too did it appear as Devith flickered between Hekate mounted on his back as the two fell into formation with the rest of the Gale Stalkers. If thread could think it would be about to find it regrets it's decision to fall here immensely. Devith snarled smoke rolling from his jaws as the silver gulped down the offered firestone swooping low after a large clump of thread.
Let us show them what we are capable of~ Hekate roared in her dragon's mind as Devith's jaws curled back a great gout of flame erupting from the dragon's maw to sear the silver clump to mere ash as dragon and rider turned with their wing searching out their next potential prey.

There was one stray thread that Hatteth had missed, however, and a gust of wind tossed it straight towards him. Fortunately, the small brown was able to react in time to the threat. Before J'nes could even say "Watch out," Hatteth tucked in his wings and dropped, avoiding the thread by a hairsbredth.
I told you I'd be fine, he told J'nes smugly.

~ Ready Mine? ~
~ I have no more time to not be do I? ~ Dizzian grinned as her heart hammered in her chest and her breath came a little too quick.
~ Easy and be calm. We are ready for this. We have trained well~ Courath crooned as she crouched and thrust herself into the air after the rest of the Gale stalkers, taking the coordinates safely between.
Staying in formation was no longer an issue for the green. As she said, they had worked hard to prevent her scarred wing from holding them back in flight. Now she was as fresh and prepared as rest of the new riders.
But that didn't help much when you lacked experience. Courath grunted as the falling strands approached faster than she'd expected. Her first gout of flame was cut off as the dragon blinked between and back, nearly avoiding the clump. Disgruntled, she watched it drop to the wings below.
~Don't worry Courath. I'm just glad you're not hurt!~ The whites showed around her eyes under her goggles as she gripped the straps before her. Suddenly this was very real. She was in the air. FIGHTING THREAD.

C'rci of Blue Bolth -Burn Post
Mine. . .um are you sure we should say that? Bolth questioned somewhat timidly as C'rci rolled her eyes patting her blue's steely neck lovingly even as they barely dodged a clump of thread. With whirling yellow eyes the blue managed to flame it surprisingly taking out the whole clump while he was at it. A small victory, though it didn't seem to ease the nervous blue's fears any less.
Just pass it on please my heart. C'rci assured her dragon glancing over at her bronze wingleader even as Bolth spoke up.
Calanoth. Mine wishes me to convey a message. Mine would like yours to kindly stop staring at yonder wee silverrider's butt, no matter how nice it may be, and kindly lead the wing. She wishes to tell him that he can go kiss up on, roll in the hay, or whatever other slurr for such activities he might wish to partake in later after the thread fall.

S'kiro gave the blue a slap on the shoulder. Wonderful job. Let's get some more! The amusement in his voice caused the blue to roll his eyes in a dragon like manner. You doubted me? Yes. We must show them all that we can burn most of it. Neptanth opened his maw to spew forth even more flame as Thread fell around them.

Thread was everywhere, so much it was a bit hard to decide which to go for next. At the moment there was none headed straight for Hatteth, which would have been the first thing to go for. Instead he spotted a few strands a little farther away. With one wingbeat he brought himself close enough to reach them. A moment later a blast of flame had charred them to ash as well, leaving a little less thread to threaten Pern.

~Devith flies well.~ Calanoth commented casually, watching as the silver cleaning took out a clump of Thread.
Z'fer glanced around for the pair, the fact that she wasn't in his wing, and easy to watch, still rankled. That she had chosen D'lins wing over his... They banked to follow a batch of Thread, burning most of it before it fell out of reach.
Calanoth rumbled in amusement as he recieved Bolth's message. ~ Bolth's would like to ask you to 'kindly stop staring at yonder wee silverrider's butt, not matter how nice it may be, and kindly lead the wing. She adds that you can go kiss up on, roll in the hay, or whatever other activities you have in mind after Fall. ~
~ You can tell her that jealousy doesn't become her. ~ The sass managed to break Z'fer's indignation before it managed to form again.
Another rumble and Calanoth relayed the message, his eyes whirling green as he prepared for another strike. ~ Mine says Jealousy doesn't become yours. ~ The humor and teasing was clear in Calanoth's voice. ~Thank you for that.~ He added gratefully.

Hekate of Silver Devith -Burn post
Before the clump Courath had let slip could fall to far to endanger the wings below Devith dipped. Taking the stone offered by Hekate the two honed in on their target passing their friends with a slight spin to engulf the wayward thread in a large gout of flame searing it from existence.
Let that stand as a lesson to any who would threaten my sister Devith rumbled with pride his large shining form eclipsing that of his favorite green sibling as he rose to fall back into position.
Don't get too cocky king of mine~ Hekate thought with a wry grin, but the pride that filled their bond made clear she was just as pleased as her silver.
Me? Cocky? Confident perhaps, but never cocky. Devith crooned teasingly back to his lifemate as he winged by Courath.
Are you hurt Courath? He inquired as he took up his position once more hastily taking the firestone his rider offered all to eager to clean more of their dreaded enemy from the sky.
