The bright blue sky and the minimal white clouds were deceiving. The sky looked like it was a warm spring day, but wow was it cold! That wind! It was only moderately cold earlier, but the wind made it actually feel cold. Theodora inwardly groaned at the weather. Had she had known the wind would have picked up she would have never ventured out of the forest and into the open.
But man, was she thirsty. Her travels had brought her from home through several woods, but no streams and no rivers. She could always resort to eating snow, but there wasn't much of it, and that definitely did not sound appetizing! This area was unfamiliar to Theodora, but she figured as long as she kept going forward, eventually she would find water.
"Should have asked Miranda to tag along... she could fly and see everything that's around! But noooo, why would she leave the comforts of home? Blah boring Mira..."

 The air was cold, and what's worse, the grass was wet. Areas where snow had covered the ground before, then melted earlier in the week, were now unpleasantly mushy. Mostly dead grass clung to the soil beneath it like a bad case of bed head. Most would of stayed home, yes indeed. For Vasu, he would do anything to escape his family. Staying near The Summit and his herd, meant listening to his fathers lectures. It was something he tried to avoid at all costs. He had heard it all before. Get a mare, grow up, take ownership as the heir of the herd. Vasu wanted nothing to do with taking his fathers place. It just wasn't for him. He had attempted to persuade his dad to pick his younger more responsible brother, but it never worked. As for the mare portion? Well, that was always a sore spot. The sea swirled stallion had no luck when it came to mares. Plenty of girl-friends, but none of them that wanted to stick around for very long.
Today, he tried not to think about any of that. He had set out in hopes of finding a nice dry patch of dirt to romp around in, but had only found mud at a few of his favorite spots. Now he was wandering around aimlessly, skirting the direction that would take him home. He knew the area well, but really had nowhere to go!
Vasu dropped his shoulders. He looked like he was sulking.
What to dooooo....? Could kick that rock... he thought to himself as he looked around, then side kicked a rock into the short distance with his front right hoof. That was mildly entertaining for a split second.

Theodora, being the youngest of her sisters, never ventured out and made any friends. Why make friends when you had older sisters? Anastasia, the oldest, was always super happy and down for a good run or romp, and Miranda, well, there has to be a sister you could bother! But Anastasia had wandered off on a mission to find herself and help others (something Miranda scoffed at), and Miranda well, was boring and a homebody. None of this meant Theodora was anti-social, but it certainly meant that she would love the company of another.
And stallions? Pfft! That certainly was not on her mind.
Looking around, Theodora set her eyes on a dark stallion kicking a rock. He looked kind of... down? Or bored? Her ears perked a smile pulled at her lips. He had no markings of a Kalona, so he couldn't be that bad, right? It wouldn't hurt to ask him where the nearest lake or stream of even droplets of water were! Theodora started towards the stallion, taking a page out of Anastasia's book - be pleasant and kind, and things will always work out.
"Hello!" She called, stopping a short way from the stranger. "Can I bother you for some help? I'm sort of err, lost."

Vasu pushed his lips together at the rock. NOW what...
Dark green pitted ears swiveled round. His blank thoughts of what to do for entertainment, were invaded by the sound of a friendly mare voice. His eyes went wide, lighting up like the sky. He turned his head with arched eyebrows framed by light sea green markings. The soft grey muzzle on his face spread into a smile that completed the delighted look on his face.
Say hello! She's talking to me! "Hi!" his expression got even happier. His mouth gave an open grin, and his eyes got big.
Don't look so goofy... Answer her question! Vasu contained his grin, but it was still evident in his eyes. "Not a bother at all! Where ya trying to go?" He looked like he might burst, he was trying to hard not to let the goofy grin come back. He did let a small smile escape, before pushing his lips together in the silliest ways. It was hopeless to try and remain composed and collected. Normally he would of been able to keep his cool, since he was kind of sick of swooning over girls. But! Vasu was bored, and she sounded friendly. He wouldn't over analyze things, but try to just roll with it. It seemed to work with his brother.
