It had been many days since Riley had adopted a very small, overly JOYful, and remarkable little Christmas elf, and taken him into her dorm. With Malodore's constant help, she'd kept him fed, and relatively entertained. She'd managed to show him a variety of her minipets, and even saved him from being eaten by her cthulhu. In the end, she'd been able to give him the basic knowledge a new student at Amityville might have garnered from a few days there.
But she wanted more. She wanted Jericho. And Jericho just wasn't there.
She'd started to treat the elf more as his own person, and less as the person he'd been. That meant, of course, doing things that were a little more.. jolly.
Of course, Riley had her limits.
At the moment, however, she was sitting on the couch, with the elf in her lap. In her arms was a book, which she was reading to the elf, to put him to sleep. It had been a rough couple of days, to say the least - she assumed that sleeping in a foreign environment must be taking its toll on him. For now, despite it being the middle of the day, she took to doing one of the tips that she'd found while researching taking care of someone small - to read to them.
Granted, she was reading the book she read to Cam, to put him to sleep, - The Adventures of Lil Cthulhu. It was the closest to a bedtime story she could find.

Jericho had been learning a number of things within the past week. Though that was not the only thing that was going on with him. He was growing. At a fairly rapid rate as well. While he sat upon Riley's lap, he kept fidgeting. His pants were not rather uncomfortable. As well as his shirt.
He wasn't even wearing his shoes anymore.
Even so, he was doing the best he could to listening attentively to her story. It was... an interesting tale to say in the least. A part of him couldn't help but long for something like the Night Before Christmas.

Junko had been quick to get working when Riley had given her the measurements she needed, though she had been somewhat saddened by the fact that this elf didn't have wings. She didn't have the heart to change anything about her original Jericho page, simply making an entirely new one just for the three-foot-tall creature he'd become. The outfit wasn't terribly fancy considering who was designing and making it, though it was obvious she'd put a lot of care behind it in the days she'd been working. But making a tiny outfit apparently didn't take very long.
And it didn't weigh much either to carry from her dorm to Riley's. Thank Jack.
When she arrived she knocked on the door, waiting with a cheerful little hum. In her hands was a bag of clothes, just the ones she'd made for the little elf.

Lil Cthulhu wants to play more, but the stars are changing. R'lyeh is sinking, and it's time to go to-
The door knocking startled Riley, which surprised her simply for its impossibility. She had been so caught up in reading Jericho the story, that she hadn't even felt Junko's presence come closer. She closed the book and settled it on her lap, adjusted Jericho's new, knitted cap obsessively, and then responded to the knock. The door is open, Junko, you may come in. To the elf sitting in the nook of her lap, made while her legs were pulled up and resting on the couch, she explained about their visitor. This is the ghoul who I spoke of before. She made you some new clothes. Riley had only just noticed that Jericho looked uncomfortable in his old ones, but it was not easy to tell that he was growing. She plucked at his tight sleeves. And just in time, too. Perhaps she'd been overfeeding him candy. Did elves grow, if they ate too much candy? She promised herself to start switching him to better foods as soon as possible.

"Howdy!" he called out to the mysterious girl behind the door that had not been opened yet,"And yes. I cannot wait. This outfit is kinda uncomfortable now..."
After all, he was half a foot taller than when he first arrived.

She really had no idea she'd startled Riley. Perhaps that was an accomplishment one should be proud of, to be able to sneak up on a mindflayer and surprise them. She let herself in when invited, waving to the pair on the couch with a bit of her hair. It took her a minute to realize what she was looking at. Riley on her sofa with a tiny Christmas elf version of Jericho on her lap. Was she reading him a bedtime story like a small scareling?
There came a sudden loud roar of laughter from behind Junko, though the ghoul had closed the door behind her. "LOOKIT HIM HE'S LIKE A MIDGET AHAHA!" Junko cleared her throat and pursed her lips. She would not admit she was kind of amused by the sight before her. It was just too adorable to see Riley like this. She kept her composure surprisingly well.
"Hush, Mistress. Hello, Riley! Hello, ah...Jericho?" Was he going by that name? She hoped so. "I brought the clothes you asked for!"

Riley smoothly ignored Mistress and uncurled from her position, wrapping one arm around Jericho and helping him down to his feet. Thank you for coming. I appreciate this assistance, especially since it seems he's worn out his clothes rather quickly. Jericho, you may use my bedroom if you wish to change in privacy.
She patted the couch for Junko to sit beside her, to chat while Jericho changed.

The first voice Jericho heard from the girl entering was not all too nice. Her mouth hadn't moved from what he could see but it definitely came from the asian looking student.
"HEY! WHO YOU CALLING A MIDGET! I'LL SOCK YOU!" he suddenly shouted while bringing up his fists as if wanting to go at a round of fisticuffs once he was set down by Riley. Though, he soon looked confused as Junko spoke. Different voice. From her lips.
Ventriloquist?
He looked at her curiously. Thankfully, Riley snapped him out of it.
"Ok!" he said while taking the outfit and disappearing off to swap out his clothing.

Junko winced at the shouts and threats, gripping the bad handles tighter. "I'm sorry." She squeaked, feeling bad now that Jericho was freaking out about it. "Just ignore Her. She won't say another word." Junko pouted. Damnit, Mistress.
When Jericho reached for the bag she let him take it, sitting down beside Riley on the sofa and watching Jericho leave to disappear into the other room. "It's like a completely different person..." She frowned. "There's no way he's the measurements you gave me. You gave me really small ones, he looks almost as tall as Xiu though.."

Riley did, in fact, ignore Mistress. Jericho's outburst was equally ignored, and she remained unphased over the whole ordeal, simply watching the elf walk away and pondering Junko's warnings. Almost as tall as Xiu? That's impossible, he was not.. He certainly wasn't tall enough to be considered a normal height, but pointing out his growth made Riley realize that all of the tightness and changes in his outfit were around the ends. His pants were too high off his ankles. His sleeves did not touch his arms right. And all in all, he was definitely taller than the day she'd taken the measuring tape to him. She hadn't even noticed, until that very moment - she'd only thought he was getting heavier, or thicker.
I didn't.. I mean, I took his precise measurements, at the time. Her brows furrowed deeply in thought. He's grown. I can't believe I didn't notice before. It was a positive assessment, and she immediately whipped out her phone to text Malodore the good news. Perhaps that means he will return to his normal height, one day. She did not expect wings to explode out of him, nor did she expect anything but a Christmas elf to emerge from the boil. But if he was the right height, it was a step in the right direction.
Finishing up her text, she looked up at Junko and her eyes slit in pleasure. I'm sorry for the mix-up with the measurements. I really didn't know he would grow. But this is good news, wouldn't you say? Nevertheless, he still needs new clothes. I think I will actually take him out to buy some today - some baggy ones he can grow into. She patted Junko's knee. This is entirely my fault. I do apologize, but I appreciate your effort tremendously.

After a few minutes, Jericho had come on out of the room, looking a little unhappy. "This doesn't fit," he said while trying to adjust his clothing. It was just as tight and uncomfortable as his previous outfit. He had come on out after Riley realized that he was growing taller. This was probably a good thing, as he might have had a moment of panic. Christmas elves didn't grow. "Um.. but... thank you Miss Junko!" he said with a smile, trying to still show appreciation. It was still a gift after all. And gifts needed to be cherished.

Junko gave an unsure shrug at Riley's hypothesis, looking in the direction of her room where Jericho had gone in to change. Though it wasn't her fault it was something of an issue of pride for the ghoul if it didn't fit; while Jericho had grown so much it was still partially her fault to not ask for a fitting before calling the clothes done. He was an elf. Did elves grow? She'd never seen one bigger than the others during their trip to Christmas Town. Huh...odd.
As Riley apologized Junko smiled and shook her head. "It's okay. And yes! It is! Maybe his horns and wings will grow back in again as well." She tapped at her chin, looking thoughtful. Maybe if they tapped at his back and his head they'd feel it growing? She saw nothing strange about that. It was how it worked, right? Or were dragons born with their appendages...hm. The hand on her knee brought her back to Riley and Junko blinked, waving her hands and shaking her head again. "Oh no! You yourself said you didn't notice he'd been growing! It happens. Scarelings grow at alarmingly fast rates~." She teased with a wink. "You're welcome, anytime."
And sure enough Jericho emerged with too-tight clothes. Junko's smile tightened as if she was trying not to look completely ashamed of how the boil looked. It wasn't her fault, it wasn't. It wasn't anyone's fault. Even Jericho looked worried.
"You're welcome. I apologize that it's too tight, those were your measurements at the time. Next time I make something for you I'll be sure it fits."

When Jericho returned and his clothes looked just as tight, Riley's expression twisted into something far different from the tenseness in Junko's. Riley looked like she'd just seen the most precious thing in the world, and she was trying not to coo over it. She stood quickly, reaching out to try and find spots in the clothing to tear, to relieve any tightness for him. It's all right. We're going out right now, and we're getting you clothes that fit, Jericho. She turned to Junko, her expression lifting in content. I think I know what we'll do. I will take good care to watch his measurements. If, and when, he stops growing, I will send you his final measurements, and that is when we will worry about actually making him clothing. That way, we don't waste your resources.
She scooped Jericho up into her arms, and stood in front of Junko. I still appreciate this effort though. You were the only friend I trust with help like this. I still need your help with my own wardrobe, soon. But that can wait.

Jericho stared at Junko as he heard her say something about him growing horns and wings. Immediately his hands shot to his head, though he felt no bumps or anything like that. Wings.. he didn't really mind so much. Then he could fly. In any case, he was rather thankful for Riley's help with the clothing. The little tears here and there made it more comfortable for him. It still was too small for sure, but it at least wasn't quite as constricting. "Ok Miss Junko!" he said happily before turning towards Riley. Oh goody. Shopping! Maybe they could walk by the toy store. He was very curious as to what Halloween toys were like. Were they anything like ones in Christmas? When she lifted him up, he didn't struggle, having grown accustomed to being carried by the mindflayer.

At Riley's assurance she nodded. "Even if you asked before he was finished growing I'd turn you down anyway." Junko giggled. It would be a waste to keeping making clothes that didn't fit him. She did appreciate the thought though, glad that Riley didn't want to waste anymore of her fabrics. Oh well, luckily she hadn't gone all out this time as she had kind of wanted to.
Junko brightened up considerably at the mention of Riley's own wardrobe. "Of course! I've already made a few pieces, too. Do you like lace..?" Because Junko really loved lace. She already looked excited to get working again, clapping her hands and squealing as she suddenly stood up from the couch. "I'm going to go work on it right now! Ohhhh I just had so many ideas!" Yes. Just from sitting here.
She looked to Jericho with a huge smile, playfully ruffling the boil's hair. "You two have fun! I'll see you later~."
