After they'd successfully er...abducted the newly elf'd Jericho from Christmasland, Sharra had taken only the time needed to regroup, change his shirt, wash off the Yeti slobber...and then he'd made his way to the dorm room of one particular fey boil.

Of everything that had happened out there, including the Nergal's rather breathtaking dissipation by dragon's fire...the thing that had shaken him the most was watching Marosa run full-tilt at Jericho, tossing clothes to the wind, heedless of his own danger. That...that was the sort of attitude that had caused situations like Jericho's months of Insanity, a loss of life and limb in earnest. Next time, they might not be so lucky. Hunters, Insanity, and things even more dire waited out there for the lot of them, and next time Fate might not be so charitable. Making his way to the redhead's door, he paused, taking a long, slow breath as he adjusted the collar of his button-up shirt, his brainspace a maelstrom of conflicting emotions.

Marosa was his friend....and he had ever so much potential. The last thing the Nergal wanted was for something irreversible to befall the other boil. Sharra had seen it happen to his friends, and he would step in the way to prevent it from happening again. Jack help him, but he'd felt a thrum of terror at the fey's heedless charge. He had to admit it, the other had spunk, as his Aunt Olivia would call it. "Enough spunk to get his a** killed..." A mutter to himself as he raised his hand to rap on the door.

Sharra Eldwaithe would not stand idly by and lose another friend - spunk or no spunk.

After having dealt with Roch, Marosa was further surprised at another visitor knocking on his door. He stood up and ambled towards the door, opening it to see Sharra.

The fey had a mixture of emotions; surprise, dread, fear... he wasn't sure what was coming, but he had an inkling it was about the fight. Marosa twitched, unable to hold back any longer and just jumped on Sharra, hugging him tightly.

"Oi taut ye were ded," He murmured softly, squeezing hard, wings flapping behind him.

On pure reflex Sharra caught the other as the fey boil threw himself at the Nergal, arms wrapping 'round Marosa's lithe frame...the blond finding himself entangled in a surprise embrace. It was a gesture clearly brought on by pent-up worry and sheer relief, and in the momentary bewilderment, Sharra quite forgot that he had been angry. "Marosa..." It was surprise, a certain concern, and a ring of something entirely nonplussed that underlined the demon boil's utterance.

Odd. Sharra had let his own demise flee his memory for a moment, until his fellow student had flung himself at the other boil bodily.

Careful of the other's wings, the Nergal's hands slid to the fey's shoulders after a moment, carefully straightening to stare directly into the redhead's eyes, those eyes that had been utterly alight with power earlier...and give the Gancanaugh a good shaking, eyes then narrowing as Sharra recalled his original purpose. "Well I'm not dead! And so help me, if you throw yourself into the thick of things with such reckless abandon again, I am going to..." There was a momentary pause, just a beat, as he realized he really didn't have any real threats to give the other, as he'd not intentionally cause his friend bodily harm....and then he picked up again, tone shifting to become a touch wry, exhausted even. His wrath began to slowly subside, though his tone was no less stern. "...I am going to make you feel absolutely terrible you did so. You got that?" His right hand gave the fey's shoulder a friendly squeeze, before it dropped away, the barest framework of a smile on the edges of the Nergal's lips.

Marosa smiled back, allowing himself to be shaken. He deserved it. "Oi know," He spoke, hanging his head. "Roch made his point, and oi was stupid. Oi just... lost all sense when oi saw ye die. Oi was a git and dinnae see th' effect it would have on our team."

He squeezed the other's shoulders warmly, his golden eyes much duller than before. "Please come in for some tea, aye?"

Sharra was moderately disappointed Roch had gotten there first.

"Bah. Well that certainly leaves a lot unsaid." The demon boil grumbled lightly, no real ire to the words as very slowly his smile eased onto his features, a sheepish hand brushing mussed strands of blond out of his own eyes. "Sorry to be the barnacle that tipped the boat on that one." They had all been aware of the risks, and the Nergal understood death a touch more acutely than some of his fellow students...he'd been willing to risk such an occurrence. "Admittedly I didn't expect to get roasted...and no lie, but I wasn't entirely sure where I'd wind up if I did manage to become squashed or incinerated. But fortune was with us, and I think she will be again." Despite the way the fight had run, the retrieval of Jericho, elf'd or not, was enough to raise the spirits of the entire party.

"I'd love to." It seemed that the exchanging of beverages was becoming something of a tradition.

Nodding, Marosa shut the door behind him and went off to make some tea, he stumbled a little as he took the teapot from the kitchen, pouring hot water into it and adding two teabags into it before walking to the small table by the bed.

He set it gently on the tabletop, eyes glossing over a beat on the picture near the mirror. The fey retrieved two cups and set them on opposite sides of the teapot, kneeling on the floor as he indicated for Sharra to do the same.

"Again, oi'm sorreh. Oi was incredibly selfish and stupid." He stared at Sharra with his dull eyes for a long moment before hanging his head in shame.

Often, the Nergal overlooked a thing or two in passing, a momentary glimpse of subtle signs, hints and cues from other people. Those times, however, were slowly becoming fewer and farther betwixt one another. It helped that his nearly luminous gaze had become affixed to the other boil, Sharra now a guest within the fey's dorm.

It would seem that his friend's very posture was worrisome.

"You're forgiven, you know...I was mad before, but now..." Brows knitting ever so delicately, he joined the other on the floor, worry causing him to spend little time admiring the atmosphere of the room, when he might otherwise of done so. Kneeling opposite, he put both hands on the ground beside his knees, leaning forwards towards his companion. "Marosa..." There was a soft intake of breath as a momentary flash of memory resurfaced, of the fey's eyes glowing of their own accord, like a cat's flashing in the moonlight. "Hey...Marosa..." The Nergal paused, eyeing the redhead as though about to tresspass on a matter not his own, but it did not stop the query, merely causing the boil to hesitate. "...I know this might sound odd but...I mean...have you been eating...? Feeding, rather...I guess." Sharra recalled too what his friend had disclosed upon first meeting over their mugs of hot chocolate.

The blond demon didn't at all like the idea of Marosa starving himself on any front. Sharra, after all, knew the sort of thing that could do to a person.

Unable to lie, Marosa shook his head in reply to Sharra's question as he folded his wings behind his back. He picked up the teapot to swirl the water around and let the tea steep a bit more, then poured the nergal demon's cup first, and then his own.

"Nay." The Gancanagh let his curls tumble over his shoulder, closing his eyes as he set the teapot back down. "Oi dinnae wan'tae 'arm any'un elsss..." He was slipping further into his own tongue, almost incoherant babbling as he shifted into his native slang. His hands were shaking, though he picked up his cup to attempt to stop the shaking, taking a small sip as he forced himself to relax.

In truth, half of it was to see how far he could go, how far he could push himself until he needed that touch...

The other part was him punishing himself. No one else did it for him, and he took it upon himself to do that - he had been stupid, and even though the others had been forgiving, he was still berating himself for a simple selfish action that might have cost the team the fight.

Almost numbly, hardly aware of the action, Sharra reached out to curl fingers 'round the cup, feeling the warmth of the newly steeped tea through the edges. It was a dimly comforting sensation as the Nergal's gaze never once left his friend, that solemn sort of sternness reflected there, coupled with a deep concern. "You realize, don't you...that if I weren't immune to it, I'd let you feed knowingly for how poorly you're managing." There was no snap to the words, no bite...merely the honest and unyielding opinion of a friend and comrade.

"You're going to be hurting more than just yourself, yanno." He murmured, eyes lidding for a moment as he corralled his emotions, having no desire to upset Marosa further. The last thing Sharra wanted to do was incite a deeper fit of self-condemnation. "So your ability is an inconvenience...but it's part of you. And you have to take care of all the pieces of yourself if you want to be any help. There's things out there a damn sight scarier than a dragon turned an Insanity creature from the depths, a'right? And I've seen some of 'em. We're going to need to be at the top of our game!" There was some emphasis there, the Nergal then raising his cup to gingerly try a sip, taking a pause to breath and collect his thoughts.

Arching a brow at the other, he smiled lopsidedly, the expression a touch sad. "Besides. You're worrying the dickens out of me. I feel like you're going to fall over at any moment."

Cue another sip.

"Oi dinnae lyk ta wey it makes odders feel," Marosa explained, drinking his tea slowly as he kept his eyes downcast. He couldn't look Sharra in the eyes.

"Oi know, it's jes..." The faerie couldn't bring himself to say it. "Oi dinnae want tae be lyk mae fadder..." So many times he'd seen his father with many other women as a feyling, and seen the effect he'd had on them. He didn't realize until teen years what had actually happened, but he'd always been potent, even as a child. It didn't matter if he'd realized it or not, the fact that it had happened meant that he hurt others whether he meant to or not.

Subconsciously his gaze lifted to stare at the picture against the mirror, the faerie lost in his own thoughts as he let the conversation trail off.

Canting head to the side thoughtfully, the Nergal's features became troubled. "I can understand that..." And truly he could, were he in Marosa's place, he'd likely be discomfited by what his invasive and cruelly necessary ability could do. It wasn't by far, mind, the worst thing that Sharra had seen in his time at Amityville either. "But that's the difference, don't you see?"

The Nergal shifted, the spines along his shoulders flickering up and down with his emotions, scooting just a little bit closer to the other boil, knees just short of the teapot. "You aren't your father, clearly. Because you don't want to do that to others. No intent to harm, and all that." If the blond demon had anything, it was faith in this new friend of his. Marosa had already proven his mettle, reckless though it had been. "Sounds like your dad's a harsh sorta guy." It was softer, that last, with sympathy running through the words, following the fey's gaze to the picture that kept pulling the lithe boil in. "S'that family, then?" It was just above a whisper, remembering that the other had spoken primarily of his sire, and oh so very little about his mother.

Sharra understood coming from a somewhat less than conjoined family unit, but his aunts had done their best by him, and he was forever grateful.

The picture was a younger version of Marosa and what clearly looked to be a selkie, who was apparantly tugging at Marosa's gem bag. Her face was scrunched up in a determined manner while Marosa looked like he was attempting to... tickle her?

In the end, what the picture didn't show, was that Marosa didn't have his gem bag snatched, and the selkie girl had been on the ground squealing through her laughter at the faerie boy to stop tickling her.

The memory was fond.

"Nay," Marosa finally replied, breathing out. He drunk a little more of his tea before continuing. "Tat's Muirin." His gaze slid to Sharra again, a true smile coming to his lips as he let out a sigh. "Nay. But sometimes oi wonder, which is why oi teeder on th' edge. Oi'm afraid." Which is another reason he hadn't fed. "It's far too easeh tae... get addicted."

He stared, hoping that Sharra understood now why he went so long without feeding at times.

Now that was a look that Sharra himself knew well, and a bit of a smirk danced about the edges of his expression. "A friend? Special one, perhaps?" There was the lilt of something playful there, already able to sense that the other boil had fond memories of the ghoul. Muirin. Yes, that was the same sort of look that thoughts of Yaya gave him at times.

"A curse of your race." The Nergal's expression became more somber as the tone of the conversation shifted. "But you likely shouldn't starve yourself to the point of exhaustion. If you're worried the feeding's going to get out of hand, I can't imagine your control will get better if you basically starve yourself. I've seen demons hunger. It's reaaaaaaaaally not pretty." The boil's lips thinned into an unhappy line. He understood, but it didn't mean that he wasn't going to be there to watch after Marosa, no matter his decision. "So I'll try to help you keep a handle on it..." Sharra's grin then plummeted towards the sheepish side, "That is, if you don't mind my company."

Marosa had seemed like he needed a friend when they had first become acquainted. Well, he was stuck with one now.

Blushing slightly at the teasing, Marosa couldn't help but grin further. "Staaahp~" He teased, pouring himself another cup and drinking that.

"Aye, but..." The fey stopped there. There was no 'but'. It was either he fed, or he starved himself. There was no in between. Sighing in defeat, Marosa's shoulders and wings lowered significantly as a depressed look crossed his face. "Aye, sometimes oi wish oi could just trade places wif ye."

"Oi radder enjoy yer comp'ny. Yer welcome anytoom. Even meh bed, if'n ye wanna crash 'eer." Marosa clenched his fingers together into a fist, and then held it out over the table, faced towards Sharra.

"Oh! Tat reminds me," Marosa remembered, standing up to retrieve a small and slightly crushed wrapped gift box. "Oi know et's late, but... oi made 'em for ye." He held out the box for Sharra, his homemade spookies inside. He'd tried so hard to make the little gingerbread men look like angry little elves.

Sharra's smirk widened with obvious joviality. It rather pleased the Nergal that he and the fey had arrived at this point in their friendship, as the blond demon rather thought the other needed it. "Never. I'm incorrigible, you know."

Taking a slow breath in, he pondered a response for a space of ticking seconds, before nodding. "I can understand that." To walk a mile in another's shoes...the phrase had far more meaning these days, these being the sort of thoughts and sympathies that once upon of time Sharra would have disregarded in a devil-may-care manner. That, however, had changed, and now...now he wished he could take at least a small part of the fey's burden from him.

The smirk was back momentarily however, and he chuckled, clearly amused and satisfied with the offer. Reaching up, he proceeded to reciprocate the gesture, awarding Marosa the most brotherly of fists. "Bet we can have better slumber parties than the ghouls." He jibed, rather distinctly enamored of the idea.

"Oh. Thanks!" There was a bit of bright green blinking, as clawed hands reached out to accept the fey boil's gift, and slowly he opened it, as though not entirely sure of what he might discover within. Upon becoming aware of the contents, he picked up one of the spookies, holding it up and staring it in the tiny pastry's wrathful confectionary eyeballs. "I think these guys might have some anger management issues...might as well give 'em a reason."

Fangs went 'snap', and a gingerbread arm was abruptly amputated.

Huh. Not bad.

Sharra gave his friend a thumbs up.

SUCCESS!

Snapping off the corresponding limb, he proffered the bit of cookie towards Marosa.
