It was a clear night, and all the stars were visible in their massive, infinite playground. The color was an incredibly dark, navy blue, and it almost blended in perfectly with the black backdrop of the forest beneath it and the shimmering darkness of the water.
This was one of Persephone's favorite views, and because of this, she made sure to frequent the waterfront of this lake often. It would be a shame one day when she would get bored, but for now, it was the most beautiful thing she had laid eyes on.
Well, one of the most beautiful things.
The mare, moderately sized for her breed, kept her wings folded as she walked along the water's edge, her eyes staring at her own reflection. Though she considered herself to be very pretty, her reflection was not what she was thinking. It was the bright, white stallion she had met nights before, with a beautiful, long, black as night mane and eyes clearer than water. It was like he was meant to talk in moonlight. A figure perfect for this perfect scenery.
A sigh slipped past the mare's lips. Her mother had warned her of this, her obsession with the beautiful, that it may lead to heartache or worse. Clearly it hadn't gone anywhere, as she hadn't seen him since, but oh how she wished to set eyes on him again in the moonlight.
Was this weird? To most others, yes. If her feelings were amorous, than this would be normal, but her desire to see and be around beautiful things not only made her weird but perhaps narcissistic, something she strongly believed she wasn't. 'Oh well.' She mused, looking across the waterfront. She knew on the other side of this lake were rocks that led up to the water that were polished smooth from the tide and time. The moisture on them made them glisten beautifully. That would take her mind off things, hopefully.

The moon was clear and bright shining off his black and white body. He was staring up at the moon gazing through it and his thoughts. Of course all of them were on the mare he had met not so long ago. She had looked like none other he had even seen. Like a monster but to him she looked like a angel because he could see past her outside and into her personality. He did not judge on looks but on the soul and he could tell she had a good one. He longed to see her again as odd as it was he hardly knew her but he felt connected to her more so than he ever had to his mate who had suddenly left. He had stopped holding onto the past and now he could focus on his future.
He shook his head his long hair touching the earth. He stretched his wings out longing for a flight but all his thoughts were on the mare. She was so delicate yet so..strong. Why did he feel like this why were the spirits trying to lead him on such a similar path of love? He set his mind then and started walking not knowing where but knowing the spirits were guiding him. He walked through the moonlight and soon saw he was near where he had first met the mare he had not even caught her name. He hoped that she would be there in the moonlight but what would the odds of that be?

Persephone took her time walking around the side of the lake. Sure she could easily fly over, but why waste the effort? Flying was good for hunting and for following whatever pretty things flew in the air. She smiled fondly at a memory of chasing a blue jay in the air. Sure, she knew she scared it, but the mixture of blue, white, and black in feathery flight was just amazing to watch... and he was a tasty feathery thing to. Beautiful and tasty. Almost immediately her smile faltered - well that was a little morbid, wasn't it? Poor little bird.
Just out of boredom, Persephone lifted her head and looked towards her destination. "Wait... Oh, is that...?" She squinted, purple eyes dead set on a white figure in the distance. There was no mistake. A coat that pure and white, it must be the stallion from the other night! Oh how lucky! Persephone tossed her bangs back and fluffed her wings, almost preening. How perfect, someone interesting to engage her in such a pretty setting.
The mare started to walk towards the white stallion, trying to appear calm and not eager. "Couldn't keep away?" Her voice was teasing, but she kept her face kind. It did not click in her head that he was looking for her. She just figured he was an observer of beauty much like herself, and that he was fond of this lake and its surroundings just as she was.

Why did his mind always wander the way it did? He could never help the thoughts that would cross his mind. He was still walking though with his wandering mind if someone tried to talk to him he would never notice. He kept walking and soon came upon the spot he had met the mare and glanced around coming back to himself. Having a wandering mind could be both helpful and unhelpful. Looking through the darkness he eyed the mare sure enough at this spot. He laughed to himself wondering if she had been thinking of him or if this was just fate as always. Though this time he hoped for a different ending than the ones where love never lasted. Or even a friendship would be nice if nothing else.
He eyed her and stretched his wings out knowing she also could fly. He never had flown with anyone not even his father. He had to teach himself to fly with advice from his mother. His thoughts back to the mare he eyed her before slowly speaking. "Or was it..you..that could not keep away..from me?" he glances at her slowly and takes in her features."The night..bring out your colors..even more.."
