Jem had been enjoying her walk through the forest. There was a cool breeze, birds singing above, and sweet smells. She could live here, she thought. It wasn't a bad place and she was getting tired of roaming the land. She sighed and looked around. She was thirsty, there should be a stream or something near by. The mare tilted her head to listen for any signs of water. She could just make out a burbling, not far off either. She made her way in that direction, smiling at the thought of cool water.
When Jem reached the source, she was excited to see a good sized stream that ran by a clearing filled with sweet grass and wild flowers. She couldn't remember a lovelier place she'd seen in he travels. The mare settled in the grass near the spring, taking a nice long drink. This was defiantly a good place to settle for awhile.

He giggled at thought but was smiling brightly knowing they would be surrounded by love. He was going for a walk to enjoy nature but also to go to the stream and help himself to cool off. Hologram was in good hands and was asleep when he left. As he grew closer to the brook he knew very well he saw something pink move near the water.....it looked like Hologram....but why would she be be out here and not looking after the baskets until he got back.
Slightly starting to panic thinking something my be wrong he jumped the brook to the other side. "What in the world are you doing here?! Your supposed to be watch.....", that's when he finally realized the mare in front of him was not his dear friend Hologram, but the resemblance was striking....maybe they were siblings, he knew Holo had several siblings/half-sibling.
He took several steps back, being sure not to trip into the babbling brook. His eyes seemed to glow even brighter as his face flushed of embarrassment . He bowed his head low and apologized, "Im so sorry miss, I mistook you for someone else and I was getting worried that something bad had happened. Im sorry if I startled you. I shall leave you to your peace and quiet.", and he turned slowly to walk further up stream to find an easier and safer path to walk as he know the water level would rise as but grew later in the. He mentally was berating himself for just barging over as he did, 'I must of looked like a lunatic back there'

Jem just stared at the stallion, blinking at his outburst. She'd never been mistaken before for someone. This made her curious as to who it could be he was looking for. "Hey...who were you expecting?"
She stood up, following him. "Are they in trouble?"

Ingram blinked unsure of what to say as he turned, his face flushed of embarrassment as he walked back closer to the mare. "Umm well, you look a lot like my best friend and she or rather we, just had foals and I left her with the baskets to get some berries for her. From a distance...and even up close you could pass as her sister no doubt.", he gave a slight embarrassed chuckle knowing he sentence may have thrown her. It was true though, he had children with one he considered his best friend...he was nervous of the reaction this mare would have, or any mare for that matter. He didn't want to come off as being gay or a player but its kinda how it sounded to him and all he could do was hang his head as his face grew hotter.

"Her...sister?" Jem tilted her head slightly, then looked at the stallion. "Is her name Hologram?"
She watched him with her cool blue eyes, wondering if maybe he did know her daughter. But that would be silly. Her daughter wouldn't have baskets, would she? Then again, she hadn't really seen either of her children in sometime.

Ingram's head shot up when the mare said his best-friend/mother of his children's name. He smiled for a second not feeling so foolish, "So you do know her.....", but then his smile faded when he thought about it. ".....wait I dont recall Holo mentioning a sister...". She could have a sister, she hadn't often spoke of her family as free-spirited as she was. There was something about this mare though that made him feel that it wasn't her sister...it prayed a close cousin perhaps. Feeling somewhat awkward and a tad panicky he slowly kinda started to back up, afraid to ask the next question. "So umm, Miss....how do you know her?" His heart raced and everything in him told him to run, but he couldn't find his hooves under him at the moment.

"Hologram doesn't have a sister. She has a brother, neither of which I've seen in a very long time," Jem told the stallion, still walking toward him. She smiled, "But, I'm glad to hear I'm going to have grandfoals. I'm Hologram's mother, Jem."

Ingram thought his heart would jump right through his throat, his head was spinning with thoughts, 'Her mom, no way this is her mom, she is too young and pretty......' 'Oh god her mom, Im dead, Im dead....what do I do...', he truly was starting to panic in his mind. He tried to gain some composure and shook his head as he tried to stay calm and speak again....it didnt work too well as he couldn't help stuttering a bit. "Hh-Her Mom? Oh gee, umm.....I can explain? Oh I umm...umm." He finally registered the rest of what she said and regained some composure. "Miss Jem, this is awkward....I didnt realize. Never would I have imagined you as her mother, your so young looking and pretty...", his face blushed as he couldn't stop the words from escaping his lips. He tried to save himself, but knew he felt he was doomed to die of embarrassment at least. "Im sorry, my name is Ingram Miss or Mrs.? Jem. Im sorry for how you had to come to hear about this, but Im glad your glad? As awkward as it is.", he said with an awkward chuckle at the end.

"It's Miss...but you don't need to be formal with me," Jem replied to the stallion, smiling in amusement. She wondered why the stallion was so flustered at meeting her. "Ingram, it is nice to meet you. I'm sure you're a good mate for my daughter."
She tilted her head, watching him. Hologram really did pick a nice looking mate, and he seemed to genuinely care for her and their offspring. "I'm sure you'll make a great father and you two will be happy."

Ingram still wasn't sure what to do or how to explain or even just talk to Jem though he was relived that she didnt want to bite his head off. When she mentioned him and Hologram being 'mates' and them being together he wasn't sure how to form his next words, but eventually he relaxed a bit and was able to speak without stuttering. "Jem then, it is a pleasure to meet you. I have to be honest though when it comes to Hologram. She is very much a free-spirit as Im sure your aware and is always exploring looking for that next adventure. She is my best friend and I do care for her and Im very proud to be a father and Ill do anything for my family but to say Holo is my mate....well by her words she isn't one to 'settle down' but I guess that's what I admire about her. Her curiosity and genuine personality. We will be best friends forever and stay a family and look after each other. She's knows Ill always be here for her." He wasnt sure if that sounded odd or not, but it was true. Though he did love Hologram in many ways and knew she felt the same, he also knew they weren't destined to be together forever in 'that' sense. He remained confident though that his soul mate was out there and he would patiently wait for the glorious day they would meet.
