To the UNDEFEATED,
As I look back to the very beginning of this guild, it is crazy how much it has grown since then. I was only thirteen at the time when I created this guild. I was a kid who was crazy for the sound of Def Leppard and desperately wanted to share my love for Def Leppard with the public. Then I found Gaia and created this little guild. To me, although it may not seem like a lot to you, 80 members in five years is an amazing achievement. I am proud of this guild and I am proud that it is still evolving and growing.
Since 2008, so many changes have taken place at this guild, in my personal life, as well as the band's life. If you would, please take a minute of your time and reflect on some of the things that have happened over the years:
-December 31, 2006- The Pink Piper discovers Def Leppard at the age of 13.
-March 31, 2006- Def Leppard releases their cover album, "YEAH!"
-June 30, 2007- The Pink Piper sees Def Leppard for the first time on their Downstage Thrust tour. Def Leppard performed "Another Hit and Run" for the first time since their Pyromania tour.
-February 19, 2008- The Official Def Leppard Guild is founded by The Pink Piper (then known as XxScarlet_DovexX and later as 12 Desert Roses). The guild opens to the public on February 20, 2008.
-February 2008- Shanra the Dragon Bard, Mdme.Khala, and Blue Sliver Stars join the crew and help build our forum.
-April 25, 2008- Def Leppard releases "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge."
-2008- In honor of the release of Def Leppard's "Songs From the Sparkle Lounge," Mdme.Khala comes up with the idea for the ODLG to have its very own Sparkle Lounge, where ODLG members can post anything and everything about Def Leppard. It still exists today.
-2009- The Def Leppard Guild attempts to become a Def Leppard and Journey guild, but during the process of relocating to a new guild, the idea flops and the Official Def Leppard Guild does not relocate. Here it remains!
-2010- The ODLG created their own VJ channel and a Def Leppard Bar and Grill. Sadly, VJ no longer exists on Gaia and the Bar and Grill had to close.
-June 7, 2011- Def Leppard releases their first live album, "Mirrorball: Live and More."
-July 28, 2011- The Pink Piper sees Def Leppard for a second time on their Mirror Ball tour.
-December 2012- Def Leppard announces that they are performing a series of shows in Las Vegas in March and April performing the Hysteria album in its entirety in a show titiled "VIVA Hysteria"
-January 2012- The Pink Piper rediscovers her love for Def Leppard and decides to remodel the guild in time for the guild's 5 year anniversary.
-February 19, 2013- The Official Def Leppard Guild celebrates 5 years with a series of new threads and an event titled "VIVA ODLG: An Excitable Celebration."
-June 10, 2013- Vivian Campbell reveals that he is in treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. The guild decides to show their support by displaying the purple ribbon for Hodgkin's on their guild homepage.
-June 11, 2013- The Official Def Leppard Guild changes its name to UNDEFEATED//The Def Leppard Guild//
As you can see, a lot has happened over the years. And I am so glad that many of you have stuck around through all of the ups and downs. I have a feeling that 2013 will be the biggest year yet in our guild!
