There weren't many things that could draw Noah out of his shop. One, however, was a coin purse that was left behind by a certain woman who seemed to always be in there once a month at the least. It had been left on accident a few days prior, though he hadn't had time to surmise where the woman lived. Or so he thought it was on accident. The woman was far sharper than he gave her credit for, and she had possibly noticed the extra book he had snuck into her basket whilst checking it out. But today he had closed again, regularly, and was on a mission to find her. It shouldn't be too terribly difficult, he thought. He knew she ran a smithy, and he knew she had a guardian. How many female smiths were there in town? A very small amount. He was sure she lived nearby too....

It indeed didn't prove too difficult to find her shop from word of mouth, and he finally had a name to her face. Rosalie Satre, huh? The woman of no discounts and possibly many many books. He just hoped she wasn't burning them for her forge....He arrived at the residence and shop just before noon, rather surprised it wasn't open. However, the door proved unlocked, and he entered without much trouble, suspecting she was out at the time, seeing no guardian buck on the ground floor. He certainly wasn't going upstairs...That was a lady's quarters.

However, what he didn't know was that she wasn't out. Days earlier, having felt the slightest bit ill, and fearing for the worst, also running out of medication, she had written Eaton, asking him kindly to come down and visit, perhaps to see what ailed her this time, and also to bring his own buck, since Aelius was not enjoying being stuck with a rook all day and all night. She mentioned having gone to the Wardwood earlier, and having perhaps traveled too hard on her way back home. If anything, Eaton would be arriving that very day expecting just to find Rosalie with a minor cold, and a happy buck peeking up from his bed. This certainly was not the case.

Rosalie was buried under all the blankets she had in her bed, sleeping feverishly. The forge was certainly still going, but she was just so cold. The heat flashes came and went sporadically, leaving the woman miserable with some sort of flu. Aelius was more than happy than to sit by her side, wrapped tight under his own blanket. He hadn't dared leave his chosen's side, knowing no one here could understand him if he went for help anyway. For now he too slept, and neither awoke to the door opening and shutting very quietly when Noah entered. None except for Shuu that was.

The rook too was perched at the head of her bed, and thought nothing of the door, thinking it was perhaps the wind, or their expected guest. Preening and floofing his feathers the slightest bit, he settled down and slept again.

At the arrival of Rosalie's letter note a day before, Eaton had grown worried, an lump of unease settling heavily in his stomach. He'd advised her not to go to the Wardwood in such frigid weather. Not even offering were going to keep the ravaging wolves from terrorizing the countryside. So, it was with a heavy heart that Eaton bundled up as warmly as he could and set out for Rosalie's home. Orpheus was bundled against the biting winds as well, not only wearing a scarf and leg wraps, but also a pack on his back that held any medicine Rosalie could possibly need.

Having left early in the morning and traveled hard, Eaton arrived in town in record time. Both he and Orpheus were worn, but Eaton knew Rosalie would let them stay the night if needed. Hefting his own pack higher up on his shoulder, Eaton venture through the square and down the cobbled street that held Rosalie's shop. Eagerly, Eaton paused before the door, thinking it strange that the door was close. Perhaps she's gone out? Trying the big, wooden handle, Eaton gave a push and was surprised to find himself in the heated room of the blacksmith's shop. Rosalie was nowhere in sight though, but there was a man standing before him, someone Eaton didn't know.

"Are you looking for the blacksmith?" Eaton asked the man, letting Orpheus squeeze in through the door. Eaton hurriedly shut the door against the cold winds outside and watched as Orpheus snuffled around in the place Aelius usually was. Not finding the other buck, Orpheus looked thoroughly put out and started to sniff around for his friend. Attention diverted from the stranger, Eaton watched as Orpheus started to make his way up the stairs to Rosalie's bedroom. Oh dear.

"Rose?" Eaton called up, offering the stanger a hasty apology before he bound up the steps behind Orpheus. When he spotted the bundle beneath the bed covers, Eaton groaned. "Rosalie, dear?" Eaton asked again, gently patting the lump that was Rosalie. In the meantime, Orpheus found Aelius immediately, chuffing at the male and nose bumping him impatiently.

Noah started to start to say something as the door opened, though stopped. Oh... A man. "Oh, I thought you were...." He trailed off a little, unsure of what exactly to say. "Yes, I am looking....for...her." He watched the buck travel past Eaton, trailing off as he completed his sentence. It was another one. Third one he'd ever seen. Where in the ward were these coming from? He did, however, keep an eye on the buck. Oh it was going upstairs......

Aelius was the first to really wake up, having his head rested on the bed. He snorted a little at Orpheus' insistent bumps, opening a lazy eye. Who was waking him up when--. A giant exclamation point might as well have popped up over his head. OH GOSH OH GOSH IT WAS ORPHEUS OH GOSH OH GOSH. The buck started to prance around, making Noah feel even more alone and awkward downstairs, but then went still, and took one good look at the cover of blankets. Oh no his chooosennnn thouughhhhhhh....

There was a muffled groan from somewhere under the blankets, and a slight shift. Shuu gave a few chirps insistently, also having been woken by Aelius' dancing. Miss needed to get up, lest he have anything to do with it. But indeed, from somewhere Rosalie peeked out from under the fortress of blanketude, and wearily eyed Eaton. "M' sorry.....Didn't hear you come in..." She managed, though fell into a few heaving coughs. Not good, not good. "I...I don't think I'll be getting up." Well at least in the fever induced haze she was still a little with it.

Orpheus put up with the prancing stoically. He certainly didn't prance, but he did flicker his tail excitedly. It was nice to see Aelius and Orpheus showed his affection by licking the excited male into submission. He could practically feel the worry rolling off the male and sidled a bit closer to Aelius, leaning against the other buck and offering support. His human would fix this. Eaton could always fix horrible coughs like these...well, all but Eaton's own. Orpheus still remembered the male's bout of violent influenza and snorted unhappily at the memory.

Ignoring the two bucks completely, Eaton fluttered over Rosalie. "No, best not be getting up," he said, urging Rosalie to lay in a more comfortable position. He felt his forehead with a cool hand and then brushed her cheeks, feeling the heat emanating from them. Good grief, what had the girl caught sick with now? "Lie there now and I'll make you some tea."

Walking to the second floor railing, Eaton looked down and was relieved to find the man from earlier still there. "Um, could you please put some water on to boil?" He asked, calling down in as soft of a voice as he could managed. "The lady here is sick with fever."

Aelius leaned right in to Orpheus' quick grooming, loving so much on his best friend. So so so happy right now, and gosh he was still worried, but so happy! He did, however, stop his prancing and nuzzled against his best friend. He trusted Eaton to do his best with Rosalie, and certainly wasn't going to give up hanging out with Orpheus! He attempted to lead the other buck downstairs, thinking the warmer area might be good for grooming and napping....And Orpheus might want to have a snack after his travels!

Aelius stopped on the stairs, having started down after Eaton leaned over the balcony, though stopped, staring at the other guest. Now who was this. What was he doing here. Noah just stared back at the buck, feeling even more unwelcome. "Sure.....I'll...Get some on right now." He called back to Eaton, starting upon his task. Ah, she was sick....That wasn't good. She had seemed a little under the weather the last trip she had taken to his shop, but he never once suspected....

That voice. Rosalie turned about as red as a strawberry. Oh gosh that darn bookstore owner. He was here. She knew that voice so well, because he rarely spoke....But what was he doing here? She fell into another coughing fit, curling up on her side, though motioned for Eaton to come back. "Who else....is here?" It could be the fever, though she doubted it. "Is it him? Tall, dark hair...." She would have continued if her mind hadn't fogged up again.

"Calm yourself," Eaton soothed, pressing Rosalie gently back into the bed. He pulled the covers back over her and tucked them about her warm body. "It's is the man you just described, but I'll turn him away if you wish. I'm sure he'll understand. You know him, correct?"

Eaton moved aside as the bucks passed him, Orpheus licking his hand on the way by. He'd leave the two humans to their business. He wasn't worried for Rosalie, know that Eaton would take care of her. Aelius seemed to know the other human downstairs as well, so as far as Orpheus was concerned, all was well. Easily, he followed Aelius down the stairs, playfully nipping at the male's flanks before they reached the ground floor.

"He's....He's a friend.....If he wants....I guess he can come up here." She was still bright red, trying to hide her cheeks. "I should probably......Probably see what he wants...." She felt even worse, because she couldn't recall his name. But, taking Eaton's advice, she stayed put, watching Eaton leave.

Noah watched the two bucks head on down, followed by Eaton, though said nothing of what was going on. He simply looked expectantly up at the upper level, worried the slightest bit about what was wrong with the mistress of the forge, though he certainly wasn't going to do anything drastic today....

Aelius did the best version a buck could give of a squeak at the nips, turning as he hit the bottom level and grunting playfully at his friend. Did Orpheus think he had a nice butt or something? Or was he just hungry~?
