Roch was heading into the reaper dorm, thinking he would go hit his little sister up for some snacks--turned out the ghoul could COOK--when he caught sight of a somewhat familiar figure heading for Shun's floor.

He jerked, forgetting his plans as easily as that. "Mitsu!" he said, only to curse himself because it was probably too loud for the nervous monster ghoul. "I mean, yo," he said, heading for her. "How's it goin?"

Another wrong question, he was certain. He was just shoving his foot in his mouth right an' left right now, wasn't he?

Mitsu was on her way up to Shun's room with a bag of things from her place only to jump when she heard someone shouting her name. A number of things went flying as the bag went skyward, mostly books ,some paper and pencils. It rained down around them in a scattered mess and the lycan turned sharply to see who was approaching only to find Roch.

"G-good." Obviously. "I'm fine.." Was Mitsu's simple and soft reply as she stooped down to quickly retrieve her things. The papers didn't seemed to have any particular order but they looked like school notes with a few scribbled music sheets here and there. It seemed Mitsu had found something to pass the time while she kept herself locked away in her room.

"H-How are you?" She finally asked, her eyes turning upward to glance at the reaper.

"Good--I mean, y'know, decent," Roch said as he crouched down to help her pick up her papers. He looked up at her hesitantly before glancing at the sheets--

"You been workin' on music?" he asked. "Has Shun been helpin' you with that?" he asked curiously, clearly interested in what she was doing with that. In other words, he'd just been distracted. "I mean--I know he plays a guitar, but I didn't figure he was too serious about it." He handed her the sheets, abruptly realizing he was still holding them.

And he looked at her. Had he had a tail it would have been wagging. "I could give you a hand sometime, if y'need it!"

"I little," Mitsu admitted with a nod, looking to the offered papers and hesitantly reaching for them so that she could sort them into some kind of order before she piled them with everything else. Placing them in the bag she continued to collect her other things that had managed to scatter.

"No, Shun doesn't really read sheet music," How had her pencils managed to roll so far away? "It's more to give me something to pass the time. I...haven't played any of it yet." No, mostly it was all still notes scribbled on paper and a random melody floating around in her head. She hadn't managed to sit down to see if it actually sounded any good. For now it was just something to tinker with besides reading. It was hard to not notice that Roch seemed interest though.

"I..if you like. I don't know that it's any good."

"You ah--were probably doin' somethin' with your boilfriend, huh, so now wouldn't be a good time," Roch said, frowning slightly. "I mean, I don't want t'interrupt a date or anything."

But he really wanted to talk with someone that wrote music like he kept trying to! It was a lot harder than it seemed, and frustrating sometimes, but addictive. Of course he didn't have anyone else to talk about it with--he'd had to teach Amphi and Danny how to READ music, he didn't even want to imagine teaching Danny how to WRITE it, too.

And he wanted to make sure Mitsu was getting better. He just had no idea how to bring it up. Had it been like Amrita, and he knew her better, he would have just gone straight to it, but Mitsu, well, he'd never really talked with her except once or twice. So he figured this was a good way of finding common ground, right?

Collecting the last of her things Mitsu placed her books and her pencils in her bag and finally stood with everything in tow. Her gaze shifted back to Roch and then toward the stairs that would take her up to Shun's room. "We were just going to hang out in his room." Mitsu said quietly. It was what they usually did since Mitsu didn't venture out a lot anymore.

"I wouldn't mind getting together at some point....to do music stuff." She lifted the bag slightly to indicate what she was talking about. Maybe she would eventually get comfortable with being around other people again. It was just hard now since she felt suspicious of everyone, even the people she knew. When a hunter could be parading around in a body that looked just like you it had a way of making you paranoid. "I-I can't promise what I write will be any good." Mitsu had a good handle on reading music. It came pretty easily but when it came to writing down the notes she heard in her head it was a different story.

"Well--it wouldn't take much time?" Roch offered. Then he lowered his voice. "Mitsu, I AM me," he told her almost silently. "Here, watch," he said, disappearing in a poof of smoke and appearing at the top of the stairs. He came back down them, jumping a handful at a time. "We could go t'Shun's room t'mess with your music, if y'want, if y'don't think he'd mind. And if y'got a problem with my guitar I can borrow one from Danny, or somethin--"

Mitsu wasn't sure Roch understood how complicated she could make the process. She could easily change her mind about one note six or seven times only to change it back to what it was in the beginning. But if anything she could at least let him listen to what she had done. Perhaps he could give her notes or something.

Her ears pivoted forward a bit at his quiet confession, doing her best not to look skeptical. It was easy for anyone to claim to be who they said they were but the proof was in his actions. In an instant he was gone and then coming down the stairs. If anything Mitsu did understand that the golems hunter's used couldn't mimic abilities. Her features eased, and she could feel the built up tension started to ebb. At least until Roch brought up a particular issue.

"Y...your guitar?" It took a moment for Mitsu to realize why she might have a problem with his guitar. It had been a while since she had seen it but she could remember the sharp bladed sides. "H-he told you?" How many people knew about her problems?

She seemed suddenly embarrassed, her eyes casting to the floor. It wasn't something she wanted to deal with right now or talk about.

"I'm havin' troubles with my own ghoulfriend, Amphi," Roch said quietly. "She didn't talk for a long time after what happened... and she wasn't there as long as you were," he explained. Now he was having almost the exact opposite problem, but now wasn't the time.

"Me an' Shun, we aren't as different as it would appear. We're both willin' t'go through hell and back for our ghouls, among... other things. He's willin' t'trust me, and he's a cynical b*****d. Will you? I ain't the best guy at a lot of things, not the smoothest talker, tend t'say what I'm thinkin' even when it'll get me in deep s**t, but that makes me pretty easy t'read. And I make for a damn good friend in deep s**t--since I'm so used to it." He shrugged. "But you can go an' yell at him for trustin' me, if y'prefer."

Amphi? Mitsu was having a hard time placing a name with the face. She didn't know the ghoul but she was certain she had heard the name from either Xiu or maybe it was Lizzy. While she was on the island she had never seen the others so she hadn't been given the opportunity to become acquainted with her fellow captives.

She remained quiet while Roch spoke, her eyes looking leery and uncertain. Trust as of late wasn't something she had a lot of. There was a part of her that yearned to be near people again, to give them the benefit of a doubt until they proved otherwise but she had been burned and burned badly because of her naivety. The only thing that really helped in this situation was Roch had proven he wasn't a hunter in disguise.

"I-It's just I've had a hard time...telling Shun things." Shifting the bag she began to fidget, looking uncomfortable with the topic of conversation. "I..I d-don't think I'm ready to talk to others just yet....but everyone seems to know my problems." It wasn't like she lived a secret life but she would have preferred some things to have stayed between her and Shun for the time being.

"Then let's not talk about the problems," Roch said. "Let's talk about music. I'll show you mine if you show me yours kinda thing, whaddaya say? I've been tryin' t'write a song since I was a snot. I MIGHT have gotten the melody figured out," he said. "But I'll probably change it again next week. Maybe you'll have an idea!"

Then he gave her a dry look. "And seriously, check the tatts if y'wanna start thinkin' I'm usin' music as a leverage t'pump y'for info thinkin' talkin' about it will help y'get through it."

They were blatantly showing how much the boil loved his music. "We can use the piano in the common room!"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:22 pm

The thought of talking about music was appealing and while Shun was expecting her she was certain he wouldn't mind if she was a little late. Especially if she was just downstairs in the common room. A quick text would let him know everything was fine.

"A..alright." Mitsu finally agreed, looking toward the common room before she reached for her phone so that she could send a quick text to Shun so that he would know where she was. Thank goodness for text to audio programs. At least assuming the program translated what she sent correctly.

Once that was done Mitsu slowly made her way to the common room trying to sort through the papers in her arms. All her notes from her text books were intermingled with her sheet music not to mention everything was out of order. When she finally set her stuff down in a chair she managed to separate the sheet music but had yet to put it back the way it was. "I...don't have a solid melody yet. It's mostly pieces." Her eyes drifted up to Roch, her head tilting curiously. "What have you been working on?"

"I wanted t'be a grim reaper--y'know, the full job, goin' into the human world, reapin' FEAR, all that. And I figured if I wrote a song t'play--one that could reap FEAR, well, it'd make for a good start t'the job," Roch said. "It got t'be a bit of an obsession for me," he admitted. "Tryin' t'write the perfect song for reaping. But hell, I ain't even gonna be a reaper like that," he said with a frown. "Then again, I might do it after I get done bein' a trick or treater..."

He started digging through his pockets and pulled out a wad of papers. "This is a bit of it," he said, unfolding the papers. "But let's do yours first!"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 22, 2013 3:26 pm

A song for reaping? Mitsu had never heard of such a thing, it sounded fascinating. "So...would it be like your theme song?" It was possible Mitsu had seen too many cartoons and had the wrong idea behind what Roch meant.

She looked to the papers Roch pulled from his pocket and frowned when she looked at her own. Mitsu had only played bits and pieces and wasn't sure what it sounded like over all. "A-alright."

Nervously she made her way to the piano and set the sheet out so that she could see it. Looking over it for a moment she turned to Roch before she faced the piano again and had a seat. There was only a bit of hesitation before her fingers touched the keys creating a soft and sad melody as they drifted over the clavier. It had been a while since she had truly played but it didn't seem like it had effected her much. The song itself seemed rather smooth at first, though solemn. It wasn't until Mitsu reach the bottom of her first page that the music became rather disjointed and almost distorted. That was when her playing faded out and she ran a hand through her hair nervously.

"This...is where I have trouble."

Roch stared at the keyboard--because he couldn't stare at her. It was almost as if he had read her entire life just by listening to that quick sound, but that was ridiculous. "That last part," he said a bit awkwardly. "It's ah... interesting."

It was discordant. It was ugly. It was probably the best way she could express her feelings, he thought. Even if she was stumped, she wouldn't have had to play it--not unless she was feeling that way. "How about this," he said after a moment of thinking. "Picture your song as a story. It's a serious story, it's got a point t'make, right? What's it about? Make it up if y'ain't asked yourself that before."
