So, there are too many evil Teams in Zatao, all based in other regions, and all of them have their own goals. They should all get together and form their own team, unique to Zatao! They could have divisions whose specialties lie in each Team's strengths, like a naval division for former Aqua grunts, a stealth and thievery division for former Rockets, a PR and persuasion division for former Plazmas, etc. The group could provide a front as a company whose goals are exploring Zatao and providing products unique to its needs. May claim to be a collection of smaller companies that came together for mutual benefit and sharing of funds, called Frontier Inc. or something. While secretly, they try and recruit grunts from other teams by explaining that so many groups with different but similar goals are only getting in each other's way, and working together would benefit them all.

Division ideas:
Official name: Field Testing Division
Real purpose: stealth and thievery
Geared towards: Rocket grunts

Official name: Aquatic Division
Real purpose: Aquaculture, marine biology, naval support, anything else to do with water
Geared towards: Aqua grunts

Official name: Exploration Division
Real purpose: exploring the region, anything to do with land
Geared towards: Magma grunts

Official name: Public Relations Division
Real purpose: persuading people they're a legit and benevolent organization, recruitment
Geared towards: Plasma grunts

Official name: Research and Development Division
Real purpose: researching pokemon and the region, creating tools for the organization's use, possibly developing some new tech to sell for income and to support the idea they're a real company
Geared towards: Galactic grunts

Other divisions could be added as needed, such as if a new team is introduced or a new series of tasks is deemed necessary.

Anyone's free to toss out more ideas of any sort!

Some more idea's:

The leaders of the different teams could be on a sort of counsel and either have one of them voted as the main leader or have someone who isn't technically from any team originally be the main leader/figurehead.

There could still be multiple bases for the separate teams just in case someone goes after one of them, like decoys but really have one group base that is the real HQ.

I'll probably create a scientist character (Grunt/Watcher with a goal of becoming a Researcher) for the R&D division. If need be, that character can be the one who decides that all these groups running around is only hindering them all, and proposes to her boss the idea of bringing them all together for the common good.

Who would run this OOC? Presumably Panda/Staff. But at what point in the planning process would they take over control of it?

Idea for making new division: A player writes up a proposal for the division (provide a form?) including official name, actual duties, etc. and get at least 5 other grunts (PC characters) to sign off on it saying they would be willing to join said division. Then submit the proposal to the leader/Council for consideration. If approved, the 6 grunts who submitted the proposal are immediately transferred to the new division and other grunts may join.

Since we seem to be calling it project frontier why not have the team name be Frontier?

I was just using that as a placeholder for something to call it, but Team Frontier is certainly a possible name. Though any other suggestions are also welcome. I'll probably hold a poll at some point to let people decide on the name. smile

Yup, it'd be a collaboration of all teams. And I imagine people could chose whether to join Frontier or not. That could cause some conflict for RP purposes, if separate teams/individuals clash with Frontier. Though keep in mind, joining a big team means it's easier to get in on big metas. razz Also, the reason for the different divisions is to form sub-groups that cater to the talents and interests of each Team and make joining Frontier more appealing to them.

That is a fair point. I was thinking that the starting divisions would be one for each contributing Team, and any further divisions would be applied for by players/characters. But Security would be valuable for both the secret team and the front organization.

New Division idea:

Official name: Security Division
Real purpose: Guarding the building of the front organization and the secret team bases to make sure that no intruders get in or catch a hint of what's really going on. may include working to ensure that their true identity as one big group, instead of several seperate teams, is not discovered. Also being able to convince any curious folk (like cops) that there's nothing to see and they only want to protect their research labs from those who would wish to steal their ideas.

Though come to think of it, doing this would exclude any further teams that might want to be included, like whatever's in X/Y.
