Lauri was actually having a rather great day. She had eaten that morning, so her belly was pleasantly full with no aches and pains that would keep her later. She had bounds of energy that she could just run off, in fact.
The wild dog trotted on. Everything was quite joyful, and she decided this was a fine enough place to stay for the day. She could smell Hyenas far off, so she wasn't worried. They were quite friendly creatures.
Her old pack had quite a few. Her hunting party actually consisted of a few, and perhaps she would be able to join these new ones on a hunt - she would rather like something larger than hare, she decided. Perhaps soon.

((I changed my mind... Both of my guys could use some RP)) Amanita had planned to go hunting alone today. He hunted a lot with his friend Nuru, and they worked decently as a team when the other hyena managed to focus. Today he wasn't in the mood for random bursts of singing, however so he had set out alone. It would have been nice to just run and catch something and clear his head, but just as he left the Graveyard one of the older hunters had invited himself in. He glanced back at the blue pelted scarred old man. One of the war veterans, but Amanita was not about to start asking questions. It would invite conversation, and he was still a bit ticked off that the old man had just joined him like that, without giving him an opportunity to say no.
He kept a faster pace than necessary to punish the old man, but the blue hyena kept up without complaints. Svärta kept up with the younger male and showed no signs that the scars along his side bothered him. They didn't, not much, but he still couldn't trust everything to work properly. That was the reason he liked to tag along when he saw other hunters head out. He wanted to contribute to the pack as a hunter, and with the security of a larger hunting party he was of more use than if he was trying to bring in small game by himself. His experience coupled with the strenght and endurance of youth usually resulted in a good result. His eyes were good, and his head too, and apparently he noticed things the moody young hyena didn't. "Dog," he said to the white male, and inclined his head to show the direction, "Not one of ours?"

Lauri's ears flicked forward and she scented the air. She was definitely close to Hyenas. It was a dark place, though, off in the near-distance. It smelled a bit like death and dogs as well. She wagged her tail a bit - this pack was like hers. A unity of Dog and Hyena.
She made her way towards the scent, stepping a bit cautiously, but without fear. It might be an interesting pack. Of course, she couldn't stay long. There was an adventure to be had! If the pack was anything like her home, she could come and go as she pleased.
And of course, she didn't think is was any different than her pack.

Amanita looked back at Svärta, and then looked in the direction he was indicating. Look at that. As he watched the dog move in the distance he noticed that it seemed to be heading towards the Graveyard. But it didn't look familiar, and it carried itself differently than the slave dogs.
"If it's one of ours it's too far out," he growled, "Perhaps we should escort it back."
It wasn't the kind of prey they usually brought back, but he was already in a mood and punishing a stupid slave sounded more appealing than messing up a hunt because he didn't have his head in the game.--- Svärta had walked up alongside as the younger hunter stopped to study the wild dog. He gave Amanita a questioning look. Slave hunting? Well, if that was what the other hunter wanted... It wasn't what they usually did on hunting trips, and he wondered what the reaction would be if they did manage to herd this wandering dog back. He shrugged and started moving towards the dog. Amanita seemed eager for action and was soon two steps ahead of him again. Svärta was content to hang back and see what the younger hunter wanted to do.

Lauri's tail wagged a bit as they got closer and she could see them much clearer now - definitely hyena and hopefully friendly. She didn't want to catch anyone on a bad day, after all! "Hello!" She chirped happily, excited for her new friends. At least one of them seemed eager to meet her as well, if she judged by his pace. It would be a good day, indeed.

Amanita was definitely not in a friendly mood, and he was surprised to be greeted with a tail-wag. Well, if she didn't have the sense to run this would be much easier. It was probably not one of the slave dogs, but they could always use more, right? He might even earn some favors by bringing one home. Or he could keep her and use her for... something. He wasn't sure what he'd do with a personal slave, but whatever.
"Hello there," Amanita said with a grin that seemed to contain way too much teeth. "Where do you think you are going?"--- Svärta caught up with the younger hunter as he stopped in front of the very friendly wild dog. He positioned himself like he would if they had prepared to corner a prey, but unlike Amanita he did a better job of putting on a friendly face. He even laughed. He'd been told his laughter was disturbing, but it didn't stop him. You never knew what life would throw at you, so why not laugh?

Lauri resisted the urge to back away as a shiver raced down her spine. Something didn't feel right, and her instincts were screaming runrunrun! But they were being friendly, even if they did seem really scary. Maybe that was just how they were - just like how she was happy all the time! Maybe.
She gave a small nervous laugh. "I'm just... just travelling?" She sputtered out, confused. She couldn't resist a step back any longer, but she she knew Hyenas were friendly despite the instinct to scamper off. That would be rude!

Svärta kept moving and had slowly circled the wild dog. When she stepped back he was almost behind her. Not close enough to bump into her, but definitely in her personal space. He was still smiling, but he was also blocking her best escape route. "Sorry," he said and moved away a small distance, "These stumbling old paws... So have you seen anything interesting on your travels?" --- Small talk? Amanita frowned, and then made a mental shrug. Tricking her might be easier than hunting her down, so why not? They had her cornered and she wouldn't be able to leave.
"Uh... yes," he said, still with a bit too much teeth to his smile, "Do tell."
He wasn't very good at small talk, but he was willing to let the older male try his game, whatever it was.

Lauri felt rather trapped, but she calmed herself - definitely friends then! The blue male was a lot more friendly, though, it seemed. "Just a few! I haven't really been on my own long. My pack was south of here, but we all decided to split ways. Our leader was a really nice Hyena," she commented.
"Oh," She started, suddenly. Her tailed wagged a bit. "I met a lioness who slept in a tree like a bird. She told me lots of stories, and tried to help me climb her tree, but I wasn't very good at it..."
"Ah, not much more than that, I guess," she gave a half-hearted shrug. "You live here though? It seems kind of... sad." She hoped that wasn't offensive. It was just really dark, but her home had been filled with sunlight. It seemed kind of opposite of what she was used to.

So this dog was familiar with hyenas, it seemed. Svärta wondered if her old pack had been anything like theirs. Probably not, since they'd let her wander off. He laughed at the story about the tree dwelling lioness. It sounded too silly to be true, but you could probably use it to scare pups. Be careful or the tree-lioness will jump down and get you! Nah... Most pups would be too smart to fall for that. "You think," he said, "It looks much more impressive once you get closer. You should visit. Come, I'll give you a tour of our humble home." Svärta walked a few paces towards the graveyard and then looked back over his shoulder. --- Amanita growled at the mention of lions. Never mind that it sounded like some kind of fairy tale lion. Was the dog just making s**t up to piss them off? What would she tell them next, that the nice lioness had taught her to fly?
"Sorry," he said, without looking very sorry, "I just really don't like lions. One of them clawed him up."
He pointed at Svärta, and the scars on the older hyena's side. They were healed and not obvious at a first glance, but they must have looked pretty nasty when they were fresh.
Amanita didn't make any move when Svärta wandered away. If the dog followed him this would be really easy, but if she declined he was going have to insist...

"Visit...? But I wouldn't want to impose," Lauri spoke politely, but she was curious. they were frightening, but kind. She had never really met any strangers. The old pack was pretty close knit and she never met new members first. She was far from higher part of the chain of command. She had time to get used to the presence of newcomers. And they were all kind. So why couldn't these two be? "Oh, I'm sorry," Lauri ducked her head, ears flicking back in apology. She looked over to Svärta. "I hope I didn't bring up bad memories," she gave a small whine - that's not what she wanted at all. She hesitated for a moment, before taking a step forward. Why did she feel dread though? Perhaps from the guilt of bringing lions up on accident. That had to be it. Right?

"Don't worry about it," Svärta said and gave the dog a friendly shoulder bump, "Now, what you see over there is the elephant graveyard. You can see a hyena standing on top of the skull over there. Gives you an impression of the scale, hmm?" He acted as if he was going to give her the grand tour, but he was very aware of where the scouts and guards were located. Once she was within the outer perimeter she'd be here to stay. But he would have saved her a beating... And if she was smart she'd soon learn that it was best to obey any commands. --- Amanita was getting more and more restless, but the old man's strange strategy seemed to be working. Would they get the silly dog to walk right into their territory? It was a very boring way to do it. Ah, perhaps she'd try to run later and give him a chance to rough her up.
He followed close behind, with a predatory grin plastered across his maw. But the dog wouldn't see that unless she turned all the way around.

Lauri gulped, looking up at the large skull. She had never seen an Elephant before in her life, but that was... that was really large and kind of scary. She glanced over to the scarred Hyena after the shoulder bump. "Um, if you insist?" The feeling of dread grew stronger but she took another step forward to walk with them. They obviously only wanted to show off their home. Maybe it was actually nice and homey but the gloomy look could have just given them a bad vibe is all. She swallowed back her uneasiness and continued to follow along.

Svärta led the way towards the graveyard, silently noting that they passed several scouts. When they entered the graveyard proper and walked in between the skulls, Lauri didn't have a chance to escape. Unseen eyes followed them now, and if she decided to make a run for it there were plenty of guards and scouts who would gladly help. "That should do it," Svärta said, "Don't you think?" --- Ha! That was one way to put it. Amanita cackled, breathing down the neck of the little dog. He couldn't believe that Svärta's stupid plan had worked. But perhaps she would run still and give him a little chase...
"Welcome to your new home, dog," he said with a nasty grin. "I'm afraid you'll never be able to leave again."

"Home?" Lauri asked. This was most definitely not her home. But, oh, he said 'new' as well. Oh no, she didn't want to stay here. It was dark and it smelled of death so strongly that it made her stomach roll in her abdomen. "I really can't stay here," she explained, stopping in her tracks. Oh, but there were so many Hyenas around her, and she felt a chill settle in her bones. For some reason, she knew that these Hyenas were not as kind as her childhood friends, Tiki, Ban and their Siblings, nor as loving as their leader Ami. "Why can't I leave? I have to return home now, it's getting really late."
