Shun let out a frosted breath as he looked around the snowy landscape that was the campus upon leaving the reaper dorm. The snow being everywhere was beginning to be a little old here. Regardless, he still needed to keep up with his training regime. Snow and ice or not.
For now, he was just about to make his way to some nice open space so he could practice properly. Though, he did consider trying to train in the reaper gardens. It wasn't really open, but the obstacles could pose as an interesting sort of challenge to have to work around as he did his forms and the like.
Hmmm.

Kettil was already in the gardens and had cleared away a sizeable area of snow in the area of his choice, mostly because he didn't enjoy the thought of his hands clomping about in the snow. Nor did he enjoy the thought of tumbling about in the snow and some of the snow then getting down into his jacket.
Once he was content with the area he'd cleaned away for himself he started himself off with a nice little standing back flip after he did a couple of stretches of his arms and legs to loosen up the muscles.
Except toward the end of the flip his heels caught the snowy ground and he slipped. Kettil found himself on his a** with a nice surprised gasp.

Deciding to head into the gardens indeed, Shun soon realized that the place was already occupied. He had arrived just in time to see Kettil attempt a backflip... and fall right onto his a** as a result.
Raising an eyebrow, the dark reaper stopped where he was and silently watched the other for the time being. He was curious what the other was up to exactly. Was he training as well? Or just... trying to do a backflip randomly.
He supposed either option was fairly viable.

As stubborn as ever Kettil picked himself up and then went about fussing at the snowy ground some more to try and rough it up. Perhaps if he had some traction it would make for a less slippery landing? He could dream.
After a few moments he attempted it again. He had gotten a decent jump and his body arched just right and eventually he landed on his feet but almost slipped backwards again. Kettil's arms pinwheeled comically but he managed to keep an upright position.
He was very unaware of being watched.
Arms lifted up in victory after he stood still for a long moment, "YEAH!"

Sure enough, Kettil had reattempted the flip. His landing was a little less than graceful, but he did manage to stick it in the very least.
"Not bad. Though it would be more of a challenge to work on less than even ground," Shun said, deciding to speaking up. He was just standing a little to the side, with his hands in his pockets. He didn't know if Kettil was the sort to free run, but if he could flip, there was some potential to that in the very least.

Kettil startled a bit when Shun suddenly spoke up, his body gave a comical lurch and he almost fell back but with a bit of a pinwheeling of his arms he managed to stay upright.
With some effort he managed to maintain a visage of dignity by putting his hands on his hips and looking like everything was going according to his plan. He beamed a large smile at Shun, "Hey! Thanks, but think I coulda done better."
Small pause as the word 'challenge' sprung up at him, "Oh yeah...?"

The Reaper continued to poker face as Kettil had a rather comic reaction to him suddenly speaking up. If he was amused, it didn't show of course. It was good to hear that he thought that he could have done better. It meant he wasn't overtly confident (especially considering he nearly fell again the second time).
Nodding quietly as he seemed to have captured his attention, Shun looked around the garden, seeking out a nice path.
"Try running off the bench to jump to the garden wall, then flip off from that," he said. If Kettil needed a demonstration, he'd give one, but he wanted to see if the other got what he meant off the bat.

Kettil watched Shun curiously and then when the Grim seemed to have picked a target for the challenge it was almost immediately accepted. The boil sized up the bench and the wall; he could say he never tried that before, at least not within a series of actions to be used together.
He didn't question it or ask for a demonstration just yet. Kettil, wanted to see if he could figure it out on his own.
"Alright!" Kettil announced suddenly and took off running. There was a powerful spring to his jump as he managed to get onto the bench, but unfortunately there was a thin covering of snow on the bench and as he moved to jump there was an unexpected sliding that caught him off guard. Kettil instead of catching himself on the wall for a flip he merely slammed into it with his shoulder and part of his torso.
Flop down he went to the ground.

Standing by, Shun waited to see how Kettil would do. The result was... not too great. He made his way over and lightly nudged the other reaper with his foot to see if he was more or less alright after taking that fall.
"Granted, with all the snow the challenge is increased a fair bit," he mused. Slippery surfaces all over the place made parkour a little more hazardous to say in the very least.

There was a small grunt at the nudge and he moved to sit up and shook bits of snow from his hair. Despite the pain he seemed to be in he was grinning, Kettil appeared to be thrilled at the challenge presented, "Yeah! Snow makes things really interestin'," he mused happily as he went about getting to his feet and ignored soreness in his shoulder and chest.
"You do that sorta thing often?" He asked curiously, Kettil figured Shun knew what he meant by it.

"Sort of. I find it makes for decent training, plus in the city it allows for an alternative and swift means of travel when on foot. What might be an obstacle for most is not much of a problem," Shun said with a shrug, "On the campus though, there aren't too many opportunities for such things.. given how flat most of it is."
In any case, it didn't seem like Kettil was too put off from having landed pretty hard there. Not bad.

Kettil rubbed his chin a bit. It sounded risky, maybe even dangerous. He liked it. Kettil grinned brightly over at Shun, "Yeah, that's a real shame. I think I'd like to try out more stunts like that, though. Dunno why, but it never occurred to me to do that."
Then again it was probably a good thing.
"Care to show me how you do it?" He asked curiously. Blade Kuroda [[This tag is brought to you by: Pales tried to sleep and then couldn't. YAY INSOMNIA!!??!!?!]]

"Granted... there may be ways to do some similar things in the woods.." he murmured, thinking. He hadn't really tried doing such things in that sort of terrain as he was generally more used to a more urban environment, but it was something to think about. Looking towards Kettil, he nodded quietly before looking at the path that he had laid out for him earlier. The ice and snow were going to make things slick, so he was going to need to be very sure of his footing. Letting out a breath, he took his hands out of his pockets and ran towards the bench. As he neared in, he pinpointed the spot that may be the least slippery and stepped up that part. Launching himself towards the wall, he took note that the edges weren't covered with ice. Landing on top of it wasn't as probable at the moment. So, he planted his feet there and quickly flipped away as he basically kicked himself off the edge of the wall. Upon his landing on the ground, he slipped a little, not really being able to spot where to go first, but he managed to keep his balance for the most part. "One key is to be able to spot out where you need to go exactly and to react quickly to these things."

Kettil went into study mode as he watched Shun prepare and then perform the act that he had tried to do earlier. There was a loud 'WHOOP' from Kettil due to the fact that the boil was very impressed and even some clapping was involved, but the clapping paused just long enough to make sure he didn't have to try and catch Shun from slipping and falling on his a** after a rather nicely done stunt.
He figured Shun wouldn't mind the indignity of falling on his a**, but that didn't mean that Kettil couldn't be a friend and try and stop it from happening.
When it seemed that Shun was able to keep his footing and went on to explain the how-to, Kettil had kept his hands to himself and simply folded his arms over his chest. "Mhm! I see. I see. I know some nice wooded areas around. We could try runnin' about in there, I like climbin' the trees and stuff, so uh...I tend to hang out in places like that sometimes." Shun turned and stared at Kettil as he ended up whooping, furrowing his brow a bit in confusion. He was even clapping? Though it.. wasn't really that impressive. He just decided to not question it. He's found that Kettil could be a bit of a strange boy... "I haven't done much tree climbing so this should be a bit of a new challenge for myself as well," he nodded. Yes, as long as the trees were close enough together, he figured they could apply these things to the forest. There were at times, rocky formations too that could be used he supposed.
