Personality: Mariana is very much the 'go-getter' type. Always one to leap before looking - in fact, the idea of looking never really crosses her mind! - Mariana tends to chase her dreams and theories with little thought given to caution or patience. In turn, this makes her dream of being a good researcher a rather distant one, because she does not really have the ability to sit down and focus for long enough to write or read any articles or papers. It does mean that she has something of a talent for fieldwork, however, and she will often spend her days simply watching and playing with pokemon. Mariana is a very curious and loving young lady, who honestly babies her only pokémon, Alistair, and showers him with affection and gifts. He's her baby and she is more than willing to demonstrate this.

Biography: Born to parents uninterested in pokémon training, but allowed frequent visits to her breeder aunt's facilities, Mariana grew up fascinated by pokémon. She wanted to learn more about them, but had no interest in battling or breeding, and her parents were simply too worried about their impulsive daughter to let her go off on a journey. Thus, she learned most of what she knew at her aunt's side, and shortly before her nineteenth birthday, Mariana received a gift that would change her life - a pokémon egg that contained the offspring of two of her aunt's best Hydreigons. Taking this as a sign that she could and would achieve her goals, Mariana bid her parents and aunt goodbye, and bought an isolated cabin in the woods. She now resides there and makes daily trips outside to sketch and study wild pokémon in their natural habitat. Sometimes Alistair accompanies her, sometimes he wanders off on his own, and sometimes he stays at home to nap instead.

1 Receiving a Star from Jirachi (when all this is done the Pokemon will find a start somewhere, be it among their things, while out walking, sitting in their food bowl, etc. A short journal RP about them finding this which ends with them passing out)
