Rosie in the story is the bolder one, she's cheerful and loud and loves playing outside. So she sees the garden and obviously is very tempted by Chessie's proposal of a game, I think.
That's why she would have agreed to the game in the first place, and been so cheerful to start playing. i think that Rosie, being all cheerful and happy and outgoing, would be able to make friends and maybe lure more people into the game? Maybe?
And she is quite innocent because she's never truly seen anything quite horrifying, she would be open to the game and quickly corrupt (since she managed to become friends with the bear that scared her so much in the beginning).
Rapunzel would be very naive, honest, and obedient, being trapped in a tower all her life, and obediently following Dame Gothel's orders to always let down her hair. This would possibly make her a target to do evil things, as she would probably obey without question, and give away the good side's plans without intending to. Although - she does desire freedom and independence, almost like a child, despite her outward obedience. According to the story, Rapunzel's best trait is her patience. In the story, she patiently braids a rope of silk, and her prince brings her one thread of silk everyday. I don't know how that would play into the plot as of now, but. Yeah.
She also has magical tears that heal the prince's blinded eyes.

★ Griffin is intelligent, and his area of expertise is medicine. He also has an interest in optical density... which lead to his invisibility. He's also a bit vain, and is easily angered if you know which buttons to press. If you don't want him blowing up on you, it's probably best if you don't nose around too much in his business.
However, after being released from his book, he took the liberty of reading the book he was from all the way through. Shocked by how he'd behaved, he decided he would use his talents to help others. However, he's still very vain, and had all the equipment he needed placed in a shed within the garden, where he was sure he wouldn't be disturbed.
Griffin doesn't want to go back to his book because he sort of went insane in there and tried to kill an old friend of his. Also, he stole someone else's money from his dad (which drove his father to suicide), turned some lady's cat invisible, burned his apartment to the ground, ran around naked, tried to take over the world (by that I mean shouting about how invisible people are better and that he would turn anyone invisible if they wanted to and kill anyone who didn't want to be invisible), and ended up getting shot. Basically, he just sort of wants to start over, seeing as how embarrassing all that was. His research in the shed is to try to help others. ★
A flirtatious, distrustful brute born from a chemical created by his counter part. He takes pleasure in petty thievery, a good fight, a good ale, and charming unsuspecting women.
While he isn't as intelligent as Dr. Jekyll, he can be manipulative, and can make a person look bad if he wanted to.
((I could use a little more help with his character.))

UM WTF MY AVATAR RANDOMLY FACED THE OTHER WAY. WUT. PERHAPS THIS IS THE SECRET THING THE SHERLOCK HAT INVOLVES?
Moving on. Uh. Chessie's a she, because I don't feel like paying 100k for two genderbender potions.
Chessie's always been a rather omniscient character, and a huge proponent for madness. Basically, what makes her tick is making sure that 'we're all mad here'. Taken out of her nonsensical world there roses are painted red, croquet is played with hedgehogs and flamingoes, and having half a cup of tea involves cutting the tea and teacup in half, she first combs through her new omniscience of the new world looking for not madness, thankfully, but others like Alice- she being the only tie to this other world Chessie has. And she finds thousands upon thousands of children, and derives from them the idea of fun and games and imagination.
In their heads, reality twists and bends to their hopes and fears, but it isn't madness. Simply nonsense- and nonsense does not equate mad.
No, it's the asylums and mental hospitals, abodes of killers and rapists and the like. Children are only half-open to the impossible; the mad live it endlessly.
But so few people are mad; and everyone must be mad here.
THERE. I fell asleep typing it last night, woke up to find three hundred fifty-two and a half pages of jjkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk on my screen (I copy/pasted it to word to find out xD) and keyboard button imprints on my face. BUT IT'S DONE NOW.

Wheeee! I know my character is a minor one, so I tried to make him a flatter character (keyword: tried).
Since the Knave isn't given a name in the book, his name shall be Corwin.
Corwin grew up as a servant of the Queen of Hearts in her castle. He was lucky to have survived the “tarts incident” as well as the many tarts incidents that had occurred over the years. (He has a fondness for tarts.) But that didn't mean that he was never punished by other means. On one fateful occasion, the Queen caught him looking at her tarts out of the corner of his eye and ordered the eye to be removed, thus the eyepatch. Always weary of the Queen and the Executioner, Corwin jumped on the chance to exit his book. Unlike Chessie, Corwin wants something different than Wonderland in this new world. He doesn’t want to feel the fear he felt when he was in the Queen’s castle ever again. He sees going out of the book as a new beginning in which he doesn’t have to be a slave. But, of course, Wonderland follows him in the form of Chessie ...

Activity time!
Parae gave us a great idea in the meeting today, and it was to ask yourself "Why doesn't my character want to go back into their stories? Why do they want to stay?"
What was said:
So I saw some other room was doing "Why does this character not want to go back to their book?", and I thought that would be a good idea for helping to introduce and understand our characters, which totally has to do with Day 1 plotting. For example, Rapunzel could suddenly arrive to the garden and stumble around a bit, and the reason she doesn't want to go back to her book is that the old tower was SO boring, and although she loves her "mother" dearly, she does want to get out and see the world a bit. Maybe even meet a prince? (yes guest interaction) That will shape how she does things at the garden. She will dive into any adventure she sees for fear that she'll never get another chance, but will be cautious of venturing into new places since the tower's all she's known. She will without hesitation trust what people say, because no one's ever lied to her before.
So, another example would be Rosie, and why she wants to stay instead of going back to the book:
For Rose, I think it would definitely be because she wants to step out of Snow White's shadow, because Snow has always been the more prominent sister between the two. So Rose takes this as a chance to shine without being in the shadow of her sister. Maybe that's also why she jumps into Chessie's suggestions, because she wants to prove she could be the leader as well. And because she's being a leader to prove her power (and not, for example, the good of the people) she could definitely get carried away. That could definitely draw into how Rose would try to pretend she's got everything under control where in the reality she's Chessie's puppet.
Mr. Hyde:
For Mr. Hyde I guess he doesn't want to go back to his book becasuse he doesn't want to turn into Mr. Jekyll again? He likes the freedom, because he can be whatever he wants? Maybe more like he feels he is now his own person and not a personality.
YOUR TURN. What's your character's "motive" for staying? This will kind of be your character's drive throughout the plot (like in Rosie's example, she would try to be a leader and to be respected, and Rapunzel would be looking for adventure).
"Why doesn't my character want to go back into their stories? Why do they want to stay?"
Chessie feels the need to orient this newly discovered world properly, as her only job in Wonderland at that point is to maintain the self-maintaining madness and inform newcomers (who are few and far between) that they're all mad there.

Hey guys! So I've been working on the test thread, which you can find here, and it'll be great if you guys can eat write a short bio of your character, maybe a 2 or 3 lines long? Nothing much, just a quick little briefing of the character to put on the front page.
Thanks so much! And let me know how the test thread looks. It's currently threadbare WIP with no gfx or anything, but it's what I got, haha.
Griffin is a brilliant young scientist. He's so brilliant, in fact, he managed to make a process that can turn anything invisible. He's rather vain, and prefers to work by himself to keep his work secret - after all, someone might try to steal it and claim it's theirs, even if it's for the good of others. He's also rather temperamental, so if you don't want him yelling at you, don't nose into his business. ★

Corwin is, or rather, was a servant to the King and Queen of Hearts. He is rather quiet and keeps to himself a lot, mostly because he doesn’t have many friends. As a servant to the Queen, Corwin was always lying and pretending to be stupid in order to get out of execution, but don’t be fooled; he is very observant and will use information he finds to his advantage.
On a different, but related, note I made up a little rhyme to go with him. Unsure about the second couplet. May be subject to change.
Do you have what it takes to see through my guise? One that is filled with deception and lies? One that the wise could not see through. And aren't they smarter than me or you?
