 900 HP VS  900 HP Lenore sat down on the ground, a book in hand. Hell-Hoot cackled madly as he circled the air around her, excited to be getting his own expeditionary battle. He'd only battled in stadiums before, and it was finally his turn to be let out into the world.

Heartless sensed a disturbance in the air. Something with a steady heartbeat and strong movements. It was much too alive for her liking. She turned and hopped the other way.

Hell-Hoot paused, a familar scent wafting past his nostrils. Fear. Such a delectable odor! He immediately flew off towards the source. With a sigh, Lenore got up to follow.
Hell-Hoot noted the ghost pokemon from afar, and he flapped his wings. A dark wind kicked up, smelling like rot. It blew towards the lampent.

Heartless perked up at the scent, excited. Her eyes glowed brighter. Was it something dead? Something delicious?
No. It was a creature, probably the one from before. It was too alive. Heartless's internal flame grew larger and brighter, then she released the resulting stream of fire at the hoothoot, charring some of the trees nearby.

The flames surrounded Hell-Hoot, and he quickly made a wall of wind that diminished the flames. The hoothoot cackled.
Lenore finally caught up and, seeing the battle unfolding before her, sat down again.

Heartless blinked in confusion when her flames seemingly did nothing. She summon a dark fire between her hands. She threw it up in the air, and spun like a top. When the fire landed on her spinning head, it flew back out in all directions.

The flames licked at Hell-Hoot, singing him. With a cackle, the flames turned black and lurched back at the lampent.

The hell was that?! Heartless toppled backwards at the sight of her flames coming back towards her. That attack stung.
Heartless's body glowed a dim blue color, then she leaped towards the hoothoot.

Heartless's attack caught nothing but air, and in return, received another butt-kicking from the wind. She was tired and angry. But, she composed herself.
Thick mist started gathering around the area where they stood. When it disappeared, she did as well. She was off to find something closer to death.
