Lotus vs. Cashmere! [FIN]

Roll an Eight: City Streets Field: Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road are sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there. Fake building walls, complete with broken glass windows and grime lining the surface, limit the amount of maneuverable space on land. Trash cans and trash bags decorate the street. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air which, unfortunately, helps spread the horrible stench of the trash. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to POISON type attacks.

Dreidyn walked onto the platform, holding the Pokeball that contained Lotus. It had been a while since she had been here, since taking care of baby Pokemon was hard work. But her Vibrava was itching for a battle so she had no choice but to make time. Sending the dragonfly Pokemon out, Lotus hovered above the streets, waiting for her opponent to arrive.

Shoma trotted up to the platform, giving the other trainer a small smile. She had just managed to capture a Deerling and getting the new pokemon settled had eaten her time. She nodded and sent out her Buneary.

Cashmere landed gracefully, whiskers twitching as he took in the field and his flying opponent.  

[Shaddaling]

"Alright Cash, lets start this off with charm." Shoma called and frowned, trying to think of ways to ground the Vibrava. They have never battled a pokemon capable of flight before.

Cashmere waggled his ears and called out "Bun,eary, eary." He called and performed the move, appearing so adorable and cute.

Lotus, while looking down at the Buneary, paused in her flight as he acted cutely. Her battle spirit died down a little as she didn't want to attack the little fluffy thing. Dreidyn noticed what was going on and shouted out her next command. "Don't fall for it! Use Earth Power!"

She was confused how that attack was going to counter the Charm but she did it anyway. Landing on the ground, she slammed her tail and caused fissures and geysers of hot air to erupt under Cashmere. It wasn't a very big shake but the hot air should loosen up the Buneary quite a bit.

Shoma winced at the move, it counter the status nicely. She frowned slightly before nodding. "Cashmere! Attract!" She called out. They needed to slow the dragonfly pokemon down. Attract should work.

Cashmere shook with the force of the attack, legs sprayed to keep his footing and warily eyed his foe and the ground. His ears fell back and he grumbled before following through with the attack, sending a burst of 'love' at the Vibrava.

Lotus froze as she didn't know what to make of Cashmere's new attack. Then she realized that not only was the Buneary cute, he was handsome too. Dreidyn saw that her Pokemon was being immobilized by love but there wasn't anything she could do but hope it would wear off on its own.

"Come on! Use Rock Smash now!" Lotus heard the command over the haze but she wasn't sure if she wanted to do it. She flew at Cashmere in a half-hearted attempt at a Rock Smash.

Cashmere dodged, just missing the attack and turned swiftly, fur mused. He shifted, reading himself. "Cashmere! Jump Kick." Shoma called. Now they had the Vibrava infatuated it was time to go on the offensive.

Cashmere sprung, back legs rippling as he jumped at the dragonfly pokemon, kicking out.

Lotus was too slow in getting out of the way of the Jump Kick. Her sudden leap into the air to evade the attack was unsuccessful as the kick in the stomach brought her down again. Although that was a wake up call, it still didn't snap her out of her love-stricken state.

"Argh! Lotus, try again!" Dreidyn called out. Lotus turned to face Cashmere and flew at him, still not really trying to aim with her attack. She wouldn't want to ruin that handsome face after all.

Cashmere grunted, tumbling as he was smacked with the rocks and gamely got to his feet. He shook his fur and twitched his nose, readying himself.

"Jump kick, one more time Cash!" Shoma called.

Cashmere shifted and launched himself at Lotus again, kicking out with powerful back feet.

The last kick made Lotus see stars but at least she was finally able to see clearly, without the effects of Attract. Hopefully she didn't make herself look like an idiot while she was infatuated. Without waiting for Dreidyn's next order, she flew at Cashmere, swinging her tail in a ferocious Rock Smash attack.

"Cashmere! Use Icebeam!" Shoma cried out, wincing as the buneary skittered back under the force of the attack.

Cashmere huffed, shaking himself and cried out, shooting a beam of ice at Lotus.
