Ekundayo’s caretaker is the best one there ever was. He was so concerned about his pupil’s teachings and to help push him further, he dumped the poor boy all alone in the forest for his first hunt. Eku had no idea what he was supposed to do seeing the green scenery around him. It was completely different than back at home but it was nice. He likes hearing the sounds of birds in the background but the voodoo boy can’t be distracted by all of that now. Right now he is on his very first hunt to find Ysali! But then he had a thought . . . he has no idea how to take down the dragon in the first place. The empty eyes look around to see the fallen branches on the forest floor and picked around a few. “Maybe dis can be ov some help . . .” Eku muttered until he found a good sized branch. Well he’s not physically strong so he needs something.
He walked around for a while now, but then . . . he finally found one. An Ysali dragon was sleeping soundly on the forest floor taking shade from a tree. It made the voodoo boy smile ever so evilly. The dragon was vulnerable and oblivious in its slumber. It was just so easy. He couldn’t believe it. And so Eku slowly walked behind the sleeping dragon while hiding in the shadows. The moment when he heard the dragon moving slightly, he froze, trying to hide away from its blind side. And when the dragon fell asleep again, he moved just until he’s at the right spot. His stitched lips curved to a dangerous grin; unable to control himself now and he jumped on the dragon. The Ysali woke up in a rage as it was caught off guard and the two tumbled around the ground. His arm was bitten and the young voodoo boy could feel the stitching being pulled loose and he might lose his arm to the beast. But he won’t let that happen and let his limb become the dragon’s trophy.
The branch that was held firmly in his other hand and raised it up in the air and it broke when it came down right on its’ head. The dragon pulled the arm a little loose but it let out a roar as it was in a daze. Seeing his detached arm, it made him think in a mere second of an idea and the voodoo boy grabbed his dangling arm from his socket. The thick threads were pulled and it looped around the dragon’s neck a few times and he pulled. He pulled with all his strength as the dragon bucked up and down to try and get the voodoo boy off its back. But with all the thrashing and pulling that it slowly strain its neck until . . . crack! The Ysali dragon’s head hung down and Eku let go as it plops down to the ground. Eku stared at the dragon as he fixed his arm, lifeless, decaying, to mere bones. His hands trembled. But it wasn’t fear or sadness . . . but just the adrenalin and sheer joy that flow through him. It was his first battle and he loved it so much. The smile turned sinister and the soulless hollow eyes looked around the forest, scanning, searching. “Dere any more dragons for Eku?”
