It had been far too long since Dagda had returned to the shop. He had been a kit the last time he had been there, and memories of the friends he used to pounce and play with were on his mind. He had left his residence, a small lake he shared with many others, including his father, and come to the shop. He eyed a few bowls in the area, curious as to whom they were waiting for, but none seemed too terribly familiar.
He had heard that his sister was having bowls. Soon. Perhaps not now. Surely he'd recognize them! But not even a sign of his old friends was around. However, today he wasn't going to let that depress him. Today he was here to practice, and maybe make a new friend or two.
Dagda sat down to focus, a puddle before him. Carefully, completely focused on it, he began to form the water in the air, making small shapes.

Avani kept returning to the shop every so often, whether it was just to read, to get a snack or to practice.. but every time she entered, her heart skipped a beat at the hope of seeing one of her childhood friends again. It seemed so long since she'd last seen them, yet at the same time she remembered it all as if it had been yesterday.
Especially well she remembered the two siblings that had got her interested in magic, and after a lot of studying and seemingly hopeless practice she'd discovered her own innate magical abilities. Nothing like the powers of her friends, but still she was happy and proud of her discovery.
Once again she found herself at that familiar doorstep, a book in tow, eyeing her surroundings with timid curiosity, with a sliver of hope that today she'd finally be reunited with one of her precious friends.. she'd left her house with a good feeling, after all.
Her eyes finally found a young male, sitting to the side from the small crowd that always occupied the space. The combination of blue, green and brown seemed very familiar to her. Could it be..? Avani carefully approached the male, her eyes focused on the water he was manipulating so she wouldn't seem rude for staring, had she been mistaken.
"Um.. those are very pretty", she finally managed to say, as she got close enough to speak softly.

Dagda was used to other watching him practice. Usually he would have a line of kits sitting before him with wide eyes, watching the water change form to form, glow, change color, and even freeze! But today there were less, though the chiming of the bowls around told him he was still bringing joy to the younger residents. He gave a quiet chuckle, though didn't notice the latest guest enter.
He continued to go through with practicing, getting more intricate shapes and sizes each time. The male always started small and simple, go through the basics, and then edge up to larger, more complex things. As Avani grew closer, he was up to detailing a thin feather in the air, made of ice for the moment, with tiny swirls and patterns. He was remembering. Going through each of his friends, remembering the most striking aspect of their bowl. He happened to be on her at the moment.
At her greeting however, he was startled a bit, though the form kept its shape. Gently, quietly, slowly, he let it return to the puddle, winding down his magic. He just couldn't focus on two things at once. Not yet anyway. He wasn't as powerful as his sister, after all. He turned to reply, though found himself starstruck. An adult, with the swirls of green he had been remembering. Wings too. Gold wings. Could it....?
"Ah...Uhm..Thank you." He managed, still eyeing her curiously. Was it her? Was it the little bowl that had gotten the chip in it? The one that had helped him up? Deciding to be far less indecisive, he brought it up. It was, Avani, that bowl, wasn't it? "Excuse me if I'm mistaken but....." He trailed off a little. "Avani, is that you?"

Avani's face lit up at once. So it was Dagda, after all! She hadn't been mistaken! Smiling softly, she nodded, meekly pushing her spectacles up her nose. "Yeah. It's.. been a while, hasn't it, Dagda? I haven't seen your sister in some time, either", she said, tilting her head slightly.
She sat down on the other side of his puddle of water, curling her tail around herself. "You're very skilled with water", she said softly, not really sure what to talk about. It had been such a long time, she didn't really know where to even start all the catching up. "Um.. Isis got me interested in magic, as well.. and I discovered I have some, as well.. but it's nothing big", she chuckled awkwardly. While she was proud of having learned any at all, she still remained quite modest.
She hesitantly brought out a paw, drawing out a very thin ribbon of water out of the puddle, tracing small swirls in the air with it. It held its shape for a few fleeting moments before splashing back down, and she smiled at the male in slight embarrassment. "Could you.. show me more, please?" she asked. Watching others was another great way of learning, after all. Even if she'd never quite reach the same level as her friends, she wanted to try to get as far as she could. And at least this was something they had in common, something they could use to get the conversation going. She hardly knew any other males, save for Yami. Most of her acquaintances and friends were female, as were the other inhabitants of the house she lived in. She didn't even know what boys liked..

The moment her face lit up, he knew. Avani! One of the many kits he had been friends with! As bowls! Oh so long ago, and she had grown up to be so beautiful! More beautiful than he could have imagined, in fact. "Yes! Yes it has been such a long time!" He was thrilled. At the mention of his sister, he grinned even larger. "Oh funny you should mention her...Guess what? I'm gonna be an uncle!" He proudly stated, puffing his chest out proudly. He was very happy for Isis and her new family, extremely happy! He had yet to meet her mate, but he certainly was thrilled!
Her compliments made his face flush the slightest bit, and he pawed at the floor a little, bashful. "Oh, not as skilled as I'd like to be...I'm still learning." He admitted, though perked up considerably when she mentioned her own magic awakening. "Really? That's so cool! I'm sure you'll get really good at it! Just like I keep getting better! Show me show me!" He was bouncing up and down a little, a trait he had inherited from his father. Well, his aquatic based father. Two dads, both named dad. Had to keep them separate somehow.
Dagda was completely mesmerized as she performed her own magic, a grin growing on his face. He breathed out, obviously thrilled as she held it, eyeing every detail she made. "That's brilliant! You don't give yourself enough credit!" He laughed, pawing at her excitedly. At her request for more of a show, however, he blinked. "Aww, I'm not that good. But if you want, I guess I could!" He nodded. He went back to watching the water, smirking in concentration as he drew up another strand of water. Again, he took it slow, gradually doing more intricate things. Every now and then he glanced over to her, catching small details. It took a while, but when he finished, there was a mini ice version of herself in the air. "See? He whispered, still holding it. Perhaps he could get it to crystallize....Permanently.

Her tail tip swished softly from side to side, revealing her excitement. Out of all the kits she knew, she'd been the most fond of Isis and Dagda, and subsequently missed the two the most. She'd so often thought of them, and wondered how they'd grown up. "Really? An uncle?" she repeated, smiling. "I'm so happy for you - and Isis of course! I hope her mate takes very good care of her." Maybe she'd get to see the kits when they arrived. She certainly hoped so. They'd probably inherit magic from Isis, too. Her own mother wasn't particularly magical - at least she'd never seen her mother perform any, aside from her incredible cooking which almost seemed like magic in itself. It was likely she'd inherited her own abilities from the mystery parent she'd never met, or heard spoken of..
His excited bouncing made her chuckle a little. It was rather endearing, in her opinion. She blushed a little over how excited he was over her magic - it was flattering, and at the same time a tad bit embarrassing. Not to mention this whole situation had her a little flustered - but in a good way, of course. "I'd certainly like to get better", she replied meekly.
When her water ribbon broke and Dagda burst out in praise, she chuckled bashfully, fidgeting a little. "Th-thanks", she mumbled, her old habit of stuttering rearing its head once again. She'd almost gotten rid of that around friends and family, too. As he took up her request and began manipulating the water again, she watched in silent awe, almost holding her breath. It took her a while to realize what it was that he was forming, but when she did, she couldn't help but gasp in amazement. "It's.. it's me, isn't it?" she breathed, afraid that speaking too loudly would break his concentration. The little ice figurine was so delicate, so detailed, and so beautiful, she felt like she didn't do it justice. "It's beautiful! Dagda, you're amazing!" she whispered, squeaking a little bit as it was hard to keep her voice down in her excitement.
"M-maybe.. maybe we could.. p-practice together sometime?" The little gems covering her body were twinkling with a soft, pinkish glow - they occasionally reacted to her moods.

Dagda grinned, nodding rapidly. He was oh so excited to see the rest of his sister's growing family. Perhaps he could meet more of his own relatives! And he'd have to make sure Avani got to go meet the new little ones too! "I bet Isis would love to see you again! We should go see her together sometime! See the new family!" He bounced a little, about to roll all over the ground. Gosh he was just so happy. First finding out about his nephew and niece, and now running into Avani again!
"You'll get better! We'll both get better!" He encouraged, grinning ear to ear. His eyes squinted a little when he did it, making it just all the cuter. "You're already really good! But practice can always help, right?" Now the tail was flitting back and forth, the boy obviously overjoyed by the current events. Somehow, all the while, he managed to keep the magic up. He had almost forgotten about it!
Snapping back to focus, how he had kept it up for so long was beyond him, he tried to solidify it.....And it worked! The small figurine dropped down on the puddle, bouncing a little bit. Nothing could shake it from that form now! Except for possibly more powerful magic. "Here! For you." Dagda scooted it towards her, thrilled. "It's the first time I've done something like this! But it should be solid for good now!" He was so flattered by her compliments. Gosh, pretty girl, pretty words...But he felt like he hadn't done her justice! The glowing of her gems was so pretty too, though he wasn't about to ask her why they were doing such.
"Of course we can practice together!" He puffed his chest up again, trying to be man enough. "It's always more fun together, isn't it? I want to see you try some moreee~." Ah there it was. Dagda rolled a little on the floor, and ended up on his back, all four paws up in the air. A silly grin was plastered on his face as he looked up at her. "You're gorgeous even from this angle!" What was tact.

For some reason, the word 'together' gave her butterflies. It certainly wasn't an unpleasant feeling, but regardless something she'd not felt before. "Yes, that'd be a l-lot of fun!" she agreed at the suggestion. It would be a lot of fun to catch up with Isis and to see the one that had caught her heart. He or she must have been nice, since Isis was always so kind too.
Oh, this was turning out to be the best day in some time! She couldn't help but giggle at Dagda's childlike excitement. It almost made her want to bounce with him, it was so endearing and heartwarming to watch. Her spectacles were running down her snout, and she pushed them back up with both paws, her grin widening all the time as they sat there. "Th-thank you for the compliment, it means a lot.." she stammered.
She followed his actions intently, mouthing a silent "oooh" when the solid little ice crystal figurine fell down, not breaking, melting or cracking. As Dagda offered it to her, she picked it up, turning it in her paws, looking more closely at the intricate little thing. Her gems flickered even more, she was so taken by the gesture. No one had ever made anything like that for her. "Th-thank you, it's.. I.." she trailed off, glancing to her friend and then back at the small item, then returning to look at him again.
Suddenly he was on the floor. It was almost like he had ADD or something, but she didn't think badly of it. It would just take some getting used to, that was certain. She was just about to open her mouth again to continue on the subject of training, but his next comment caught her completely unawares. There she was, staring at him with her dark eyes open wide, her spectacles slowly sliding down her muzzle again. She didn't even notice it this time. Slowly her tan face turned entirely pink, but she was still unable to respond.
"W-w-wh-what?"

Dagda was sure that she'd definitely love to see Isis again! And her acceptance of the offer made things even more wonderful! He himself was having a bunch of butterflies in his stomach, and couldn't quite figure out way. Maybe it was because she was so pretty? Pretty girls could do that, he heard.
"It is true though! You're going to be one of the best magicians in the entire world! I bet you could be like grandma! She's amazing at magic!" Dagda was only going on what he had heard, having met the woman only a few times during his childhood, but he was quite sure Avani would become very good if she kept it up. And he would too! Hopefully!
Dagda seemed so proud of the little figurine, especially when she picked it up and looked at it. It was something he felt he owed her, especially after not being around for such a long time! And being pretty, she deserved something pretty as well! To match her! He did seem rather mesmerized by her glowing gems though, sure that it was her magic flowing through her. How beautiful...
But for now he was on his back, grinning back up at her. He could have swooned a little at her blush, and watching her glasses just slip down the slightest bit...Yes Avani was rather beautiful. "Did I say something wrong..?" He asked, curious. "I just said you were gorgeous, that's all!"

Avani was hoping that Isis would be as excited to meet again as she was. She'd often been wondering how strong her friend's magic had become, too, since it was so strong even back when they were kits, even bowls. Surely those abilities would have just amplified over time. Just like her and Dagda's magic had grown stronger, even if slower.
She giggled a little awkwardly at the sudden praise. "I-I wouldn't go that far, really.." she replied, placing the little figurine down to fix her spectacles once again. "But.. I'd r-really like to see how far I could get! How strong we b-both could get over time!" She had heard great things about the siblings' grandmother, after all, and was sure she'd never be quite that good.
Avani was grateful for the gift he'd given her, and made a mental note to make sure she put it on display at home, so everyone in the house could see it. She was quite certain it wouldn't break easily, since it would have been such a waste to tuck it away in some keepsake box somewhere.
Her gems were now flickering in a variety of shades and hues, since she was more flustered than ever before. Flattered, yes, but also embarrassed and not quite sure how one was supposed to respond to something like what Dagda had just said. "Th-th-thank you", she finally managed to stutter. "Y-you've grown up q-quite handsome, y-yourself." Compliments were the best responses to compliments, right? It was what she really thought, though.

Dagda was greatly enjoying praising her. He would even call it flirting. He had always liked Avani, and perhaps...Perhaps something could come of it. "I'm sure even she would give you praise!" Dagda nodded, sure that Tambre would be impressed by Avani's magic nonetheless. "We both have all the time in the world! We could do anything! I bet we can!" Oh now he was excited! Maybe if Avani and he managed to get really good, they could build a home out of magic! And they could live in it! And throw parties or something! Maybe she'd even get good enough at magic to venture underwater with him!
He did however, stop rolling and blink at her own compliment, cheeks turning red. Oh had he? She thought he was handsome? Dagda's little heart was about to burst in joy! "Really?" He asked, rather deadpan. He had inherited quite good looks from both of his fathers, but wow, a girl thought he was handsome. Yes yes, maybe flirting wasn't so bad? He managed to get back up on his feet, smiling slightly dumbly.
"So...Uh....." He managed, not quite sure what to say. Avani had just stopped a few things with her compliment, and now all he could do was turn pink and say 'uh'.

She wasn't used to flirting. At all. She'd read enough books - romantic fiction as well - to have an idea of what it was, but she'd never done it or seen it in real life. Even though Dagda and she had never had the chance to spend much together, Avani still held him and Isis especially dear. "It-- it'd be an honor to meet your grandmother", she said happily, letting her paws slide forward to the point where she was halfway between sitting and lying down. And surely they could help each other get better at magic.. she wanted to try seeing what the two of them could do by combining their powers into one thing, too!
After a moment of awkward silence, staring and silly smiles, she decided she had no reason to hold back around Dagda - there were no appearances to keep up or reputations to ruin. She flopped down and rolled onto her back, staring at the male with her head upside down, her spectacles falling onto the floor. She giggled, extending a paw to playfully bat at him. She wasn't sure what to say, either, so she just wagged her tail and smiled.
She was just so happy, she didn't want this moment to end.

"I'll have to keep an eye and ear open for when she'll be available to see me then! And you too!" He chuckled, still smiling so brightly at her. Certainly Tambre wouldn't mind too much, would she? Dagda adored her so much, and perhaps his grandmother would like to see how he'd improved on the family art? He couldn't help but continue to beam happiness, more so from seeing Avani than anything else. Avani was one of his first friends, he remembered! And here they were as adults! In the same shop! Practicing magic!
Perhaps the magic the two of them knew wasn't the only magic going on. He nearly jumped as Avani batted at him, though grinned, starting to play with her. He was surely careful just to not do anything to hurt her, and made sure her glasses weren't going to get broken! With a careful paw, he balanced them on his own nose. The world looked so different now! And it hurt just a little bit! Rubbing his eyes, he set them aside with a heartfelt laugh, getting back to playing.
"Can you see with those off? I can't even see with them on!" He teased, rolling and laughing by her side. He waved a paw in front of her face, just to see her reaction.

"That would be lovely - let's hope we could get a chance for that soon!" she chimed in, her eyes practically sparkling. There was only one particularly magical individual living in her household, and that particular lady was mute.. so it was hard to talk about magic with her. She was so looking forward to learning more from Tambre! Surely both she and Dagda could both learn something from his grandmother! Oh, she could hardly contain her excitement, as well. Dagda's childlike enthusiasm was so contagious, not to mention how great it really was to see him again.
She squinted cutely as he tried on her glasses, giggling a little at how different they made him look. They were mostly a cosmetic thing for her, but they did help with reading, somewhat. And there were times when far away things seemed a little fuzzy without them.. but more than anything, she just felt naked without them. She'd always had her spectacles on, after all.
Avani then batted at Dagda again, landing a soft boop on his nose with another giggle. "I can see okay without them, too", she stated, "but I feel more comfortable with them on. It's like.." She thought for a brief moment. "It's like the glasses act as a sort of.. barrier between me and the world. I'm just a little bit scared of strangers.." she admitted timidly, before rolling over squinting again and sticking out her tongue at him.

As the agreement was made on eventually meeting perhaps more of the Pardus side of Dagda's family, he rolled again, smiling brightly. Oh he so adored the stories of magic and wonder that he had heard from his sister and father! Perhaps learning more about the Pardus ways would unlock even more potential in him? He hoped! And perhaps even Avani would learn so much from listening....
Dagda was convinced glasses were not for him now, eying the glasses to the side before settling down beside Avani, only to get a boop on the nose! He laughed, though instead decided perhaps bumping noses would be more gentle for her. He did so, laughing quietly as he pulled away. His tail swished as she talk, excited that he was being allowed into her world! If the glasses were a barrier, and the barrier was down....He was special?
"Well you're definitely cute without them." He teased, setting his head down on his crossed paws. "You don't have to wear them around me I guess? Am I the exception to that?" A big grin was on his face again, super excited that she trusted him enough to be like this. He stuck out his own tongue at her in return, taking a good bat at her tail. It was so fluffy, gosh he wasn't sure how he could stop playing with it.
